Trustworthy.
I was a little concerned about putting my trust in an online site but I had no reason to worry. My adviser, Nick, was professional and really tailored his advice to my individual circumstances. He was very easy to contact if I had any questions and did not rush or pressure me at all. I am very happy with the choice I made, with Nicks help, and am confident all available options were explored.

For me,Obsidian was the right choice at the right time.
Deciding to take my pension was, for me, a traumatic time, until I contacted Obsidian.
My experience in choosing the right pension, was much more straightforward than I had thought it would be.

Quality Financial Advice form a Professional Team
Nick Pratt has been providing high quality financial advice for us now for more than five years. We are thrilled with our relationship with Nick, who always takes the time to thoroughly understand our financial goals, tailor his advice to our specific needs and explain his recommendations and plans to us in a manner that is so easy to understand. Every question we have raised is answered to our satisfaction and the investments Nick has recommended to us have helped greatly in raising the value of our portfolio. Over the years, we have found that Nick is constantly striving for ways to improve the quality the business of the excellent service he provides to us.
I am still saving for retirement and therefore have been able to benefit recently from advice offered by Nick and his colleague Andrew Hursthouse through ‘the Pension Planner’. Getting the right advice at this stage of my pension planning is equally as important to that when taking a pension upon retirement, as good advice will undoubtedly increase the value of my fund. In my case, following a series of meetings with Nick and Andy, where my attitude to risk and targets for my pension fund were discussed in great depth, they produced a bespoke financial plan to actively manage my fund, to achieve both a good level of growth and equally importantly, decrease the level of risk as I near retirement, by progressively moving some of the fund to safer asset types. The plan and its performance will be reviewed regularly by Nick and Andy, so that adjustments to it can be made to the plan if necessary.
The word ‘pension’ can fill many people with horror, so complex is the subject. However, the brilliant Pension Planner website covers every aspect of pension planning and terminology in great detail. The great thing though is it written in uncomplicated, no nonsense terms, that everyone can understand and is a site everyone about to take their pension should have a look at.
I’ve already recommended an ex-colleague to Nick, who has been equally impressed with Nick’s service and I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending the Pension Planer team to anyone. A financial service as good as theirs isn’t found easily.

Efficient and Not Scary!!
From my very first contact with The Pension Planner I have had a very positive experience. I found their website easy to use, received a quick response to my email enquiry and found my advisor Nick really easy to speak to. He clearly outlined what he could do to help with my query and explained things in a way that was understandable. He took the big issue of pensions and broke it down into bitesized chunks to make the whole process seem less scary. I really appreciated The Pension Planner's help.

5 Star Understandable Advice and Service!
Nick and his staff are all highly professional and effective. Nick has the ability to explain complex financial issues in a completely understandable fashion and his recommendations were carefully tailored to my needs and level of risk. He has advised me through a particularly difficult period and has taken a lot of personal trouble to sort out my options. The Pension Planner is a company that takes the time and trouble to understand its clients before recommending a particular solution and is prompt in dealing with any queries. I have no hesitation in recommending them as I doubt you will find better advice that you can understand! Definitely worth 5 Stars

Very Professional
Having no knowledge of pensions or my options for retirement I came across The Pension Planner and had my contact request dealt with promptly and very efficiently indeed to say the least! All options were laid before me and I was guided in “layman’s terms” which helped tremendously. Easy to Understand
With all the current talk of pensions in the news, it is so refreshing to be able to have a site like this that explains everything about pensions in really easy to understand terms.It has certainly helped me out with learning more about pensions and terminology. PEACE OF MIND - PRICELESS!
Until 5 years ago I managed my own finances without specialist help. I was reasonably happy with the situation but as retirement was fast approaching, I decided that I needed to be absolutely sure that my hard-earned money was being taken care of with maximum effect and that it would perhaps be a good idea to consult a professional financial adviser.
I had a preliminary meeting with Nick Pratt and I can honestly say that I have never looked back. Nick has always explained things in a clear manner and if there has been the rare occasion when I have not altogether understood something, he has been very patient in clarifying matters. More importantly, he has made sound, profitable investments on my behalf, at a time when markets have largely been subdued.
Little wonder that in addition to his superb advice and financial guidance, Nick has given me something else . . . . . . . PEACE OF MIND! PRICELESS!

Excellent service, highly recommended
The service we received was professional, informative and extremely efficient.
Pension adviser Nicholas Pratt dealt with all enquiries in a timely manner as we were working to a deadline to get all paperwork signed before we went away on an extended holiday. Everything was finalised within 4 weeks and payment was made whilst we where away. . I could not fault the service we received and would not hesitate to recommend THE PENSION PLANNER.

Thank You The Pension Planner.
After shopping around with a few annuity companies, I came across The Pension Planner and Mr Nick Pratt. I was very cautious as anybody would be not knowing a lot about pension annuities.
When Nick rang me I was put at ease by his friendly manner, we discussed all the options to maximise my pension pot and he help me choose the right one.

Honest and easy to understand advice
We contacted Andrew to get advice on our Personal Pensions and AVC's. His advice was honest and well explained and whenever we struggled with understanding any item he took the time to go through it again. We each purchased an annuity and found that the advice was better and clearer than any of the online research I had done.
An added bonus was that the annuity providers actually improved their offer between the time of quotation and receiving the payments.
We will use them again to sort out a few other issues and I would have no problems in recommending them. Unlike many of the on line quotations we received there has not been a subsequent bombardment of emails and letters for financial products we don't want or need.

The Pension Planner provides professional, unbiased pensions advice.
I contacted the company when shopping around for an annunity.
The company holding my pension savings was employing delaying tactics and generally being as unhelpful as possible.
Andrew Hursthouse provided invaluable help in dealing with this company, securing the best annuity deal available at the time.

Very helpful and knowledgable company
There are so many factors to consider when retiring and I wasn't sure where to start. Then I got in touch with Nick and Andy in The Pension Planner and they helped me through the whole process. Happy Pensioner
I was apprehensive choosing the annuity provider after reading the financial information and I was not confident to commit to buy the annuity.
I went online to for a financial advisor and Nic Platt was a brilliant and helped me through the investment detail. I am now more relaxed with the annuity and investment for the future.
I would not hesitate to recommend Nic Platt @thepensionplanner.co.uk as every time I needed help, he sorted it out straight away without any problems. I felt I was talking to a mate and not to someone I had just become acquainted with.

Miles more income!
Firstly I will say that I am very glad that I never just signed the forms that my pension providers sent me and took them up on their offering without shopping around. I contacted The Pension Planner who assisted and obtained me much more income over what I was offered (substantially more over the longer term) . I was able to add my husband onto the recommended annuity with a 50% pension and still receive more income than my current providers combined - excellent service from Nicholas and the admin team and I would definitely recommend their services to anyone needing advice in what I see as a very complicated area for those who have little knowledge

Great Service
Last year I decided to take my pension. Not being clued up about this I decided to go on the internet and see what I could find. I entered my details on a comparison site and was contacted by Nick Pratt (Conclusive). Nick helped me to choose the right pension for myself. Like we had known Nick for years.
No bulls**t from the outset. Straight talking, no jargon but explanations of options of where and how we could invest our money were thorough and any investment risk was made clear leaving no doubt that this company knew what they were talking about and had the experience to back up the options on offer. Nothing was too much trouble and any proposed action was taken on or before the date and time proposed, to make us feel totally comfortable and trusting that we were allowing a relative stranger to deal with our hard earned brass. We have since recommended another family member to become a client and Nick has taken the job on with the same enthusiasm shown with our business. Does what it says on the tin!! Excellent choice.

I can't praise The Pension Planner too highly.
Before I saw Nick Pratt at The Pension Planner, all financial issues were a minefield of confusion to me. But, after several meetings with Nick, my mind has been put at rest. He clarified so much for me, explaining the different options available, assessing my attitude to risk, and providing easily understandable information so that I could make my own decisions.
I can't praise Nick and The Pension Planner too highly. Nick was always really friendly whilst taking me through the procedures in an exceptionally professional manner, clarifiying each available financial route and explaining all financial terminology so that, as a layperson, I could follow his points.
Because of The Pension Planner and, in particular, Nick Pratt, my anxieties re my pension and future income have been allayed. I feel massively reassured.

GOOD ADVICE AND HELPFULNESS
Was recommended to see Andrew Hursthouse when I was about to receive my pension fund. After a few meetings with Andrew where he gave me numerous options with projected results and where he found out my character traits in regards to how cautious I am with funds I was able to make an informed decision about my fund. This has included a monthly pension plus investments from a lump sum that satifies my personal needs.
Since then Andrew has given me regular updates and has arranged a regular meeting to advise me further as situations change.
THOUOUGHLY WOULD RECOMMEND THE COMPANY FOR FRIENDLINESS, CARE AND PROFESSIONALISM.

Don’t just compare get advice from The Pension Planner
If you are like me, then you will have also searched "annuity" and you will have found a vast choice of companies promising the world. Some of the differences in the quotes and the amount of commissions some comparison sites wanted for a very little work, was daunting.
The Pension Planner did what they said they would do. They not only compared the market for me, they highlighted all of my options, and advised me of a better solution which seemed a much better option. They combined my three small pension pots into one and liaised with all the providers on my behalf, and provided me with regular updates.
They were not pushy and the whole process was simple and very easy to understand. All the staff were very helpful and I would certainly recommend them to others.

i recently shopped around for a pension plan to maximize the best income from a small pension pot. After speaking to a few companies i didn't seem to be getting all the information that i needed, i then came across Mr Andrew Hursthouse at The Pension Planner, and i am glad i did. Andrew came to see us and went through everything in detail and would not move on till we had fully understood what he was telling us. He explained things in plain English, no over inflated promises, just the plain truth, he says what he means and means what he says. A first class honest service, and when you sign up that is not the end of the excellent service provided, any phone call or email regarding any queries are answered post haste. Highly recommend.

When it comes to financial matters I am very cautious so I was unsure who to approach for advice when it came to my pension but thought I'd go down the internet route first of all. I m so glad that I did and that I came across The Pension Planner. I was filled with confidence from the start and my consultant, Nick, was brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble and he spent a lot of time and effort in providing very detailed information before I had even signed a Contract with his company. Friendly down to earth assistance
The advisor (Nick) was very friendly, and because he was local made the whole pension minefield a walk in the park with a mate. There are still new concerns cropping up in the media and newspapers but I feel confident they will still give me the correct information and up to date advice.
