Recently brought a car and was very pleased with the help I got. I didn't have a very big budget but the salesman, went away and came back and pin pointed cars that we wanted that were in our price range. After we chose one we went on to the finance part of it. Once again very helpful and kept me informed right the way through the process. Will be buying my next car from here.

Turned off @ junc 43 & there it was. Just as advertised. Friendly informative staff, just as advertised. Hundreds of cars in stock. Just as advertised. 1999 - 3999 nothing as advertised. You have to drive another 20 miles to Merthyr and still nothing under 3 grand. Loads of nice cars in stock, but you really shouldn't stress the fact that you sell cheap cars when you don't have any in stock. Apart from that, everything else was grand.
Went to TCW Merthyr after hearing those adverts on the radio and being in the market for a second hand family car. Went for a look around and met salesperson Matthew. He asked a few questions about the kind of things we wanted in a vehicle but then left us to look around on our own. After about an hour of looking (they have lots of cars), we found one we liked but it was more than we had to spend. He negotiated a reduced price and we took it for a test drive to make sure we liked it. When we got back, he then gave us some time alone to discuss what to do with no pressure from him. We decided to go ahead and the process went very smoothly with little hanging around. When we went to pick up the car, again it went very smoothly and I love my new car!!! 43605
I'm so glad I went to TCW Merthyr. They know what a good customer service means. They are so patient while I was choosing my car (so many nice ones I cant decide!). When it came to the finances and paperworks they were so very helpful and really supportive. I am grateful to all of you guys. Special mention to Tim and Jaime. Thank you so much.
The guys at TCW Merthyr were brill we were greeted by Luke who introduced us to Adrian who would help us find our perfect family car. That is exactly what he did, a beautiful gold Megane and below our budget. Perfect! We couldn't pick it up the next day due to work commitments so they held on to it for another week until we could get back in to pick it up. Once signed we were shown around the car and within an hour and a half we were on our way. A great experience for our first car purchase would definitely recommend! !
I was recommended by a friend to use can can as desperately needed a car. Ben at can can was really helpful and friendly. Got back to me within 2 hours of the first phone call to verify my details. We were greeted by Wayne the salesman who explained clearly the process and was close at hand to ask details about the vehicles. We saw what we wanted at a bargain price! Very happy with the purchase and the customer care by Wayne, Luke, Jamie, Nikki and Toby thanks guys Ceri and Alan 43458
After having the car for a few weeks I had an ABS issue. Spoke to after sales and told I could have a car and to bring mine up to be checked and sorted. Drove all the way there to be told there was no car. Had to drive all the way back home. When ABS issue was completed this took 3 weeks with me constantly chasing up to get my car booked in and visiting multiple garages including TCWneath.
Under 3months of having the car my alternator stopped working whilst driving and steering wheel locked as I was driving around a roundabout. Again spoke to after sales and was told that they would sort this and I need to get myself towed home. After 2weeks of chasing after sales I was then told that you would not fix this and I have to foot the bill. I was told if I had done over 1000 miles a month it wouldn't be covered. I done 2601 miles and it was then that I was told that its over2500 miles and I need to foot the bill. If i Hadn't drove upto Merthyr 3 times to get turned away twice for not having a courtesy car for me, even when being told you had, then I wouldn't have had the extra mileage on the car. I have now paid out £150 plus £50 labour for alternator. I am in talks with X-ray who are very interested in my story and have researcher meeting next week, this is being reviewed by trading standards and I am in the process of making all social media sites and local media aware of the way I have been treated and the quality of service I have received. I would not run my business like this and appalled about the way I have been promised things only to be changed at very last minute.
i bought the car 2 months ago and just 2 days after purchasing the car alarms started to appear i phoned the after sales dept but you can never get an answer once. the after sales manager phoned but this is after i had phoned head office otherwise the service was good all i want is my car to be looked at.the after sales manager had arranged for my car to be seen in blaenavon but i phoned the garage and they said all it has to be is a vat registered so why can i not have the work done in blackwood and not half an hour away
I went looking for a cheap, reliable, second hand motor on finance.
The team helped me choose an affordable car, which met my requirements.
All advice given to me was honest and all the paper work was handled rapidly and stress-free.
My motor is still running smoothly since the day I got it (over 15 months ago) and I'm still very happy with my purchase.
I would highly recommend anyone looking for a reliable motor, with helpful staff without any hassle to consider TCW when shopping around!
I bought a Renault Megane 1.9 dci on 25/02/2013. Initially the car drove well but after 2 weeks developed a serious engine fault, I went on to have a major breakdown and was quite pushy, however no need after i calmed down enough to explain properly my car was collected from my home and taken back to Merthyr, the faults were checked and despite the injectors having gone and a particle filter which costs over a £1000 purely for the parts the work is being done and my car is being delivered back to me, I would like to thank Steve who has been amazing and kept me fully informed and also the director for the kind gesture. so although i have encountered problems they have dealt with me in a proffesional and kind manner (which cant have been easy!) i wouldnt hesitate to return after a rocky start i feel happy and confident to buy from here again, thanks steve your a star
my parents got a car 8 weeks ago an the turbo has gone on it!... theyve rang them an they said they will not do it and basically they are making excuses up. so weve had to get hold of trading standers and getting them to help us sort it out and even they said it was wrong! ... i do not advise anyone to go here as they rip you off!..... first of all there was a white paint mark on the bonnet which they hyad covered up with polish and it wasnt untill my dad washed it that he noticed it. then after that the boot wouldnt open and had to fix it himself. but now there turbo's gone and it'll cost alot! they are rude and every car comes with atleast 3 months warrenty!
I WOULD ADVISE EVERYONE NOT TO GO THERE!
We arrived at the neath branch after being referred by can can car finance. We had heard of trade centre wales but normally stay away from the big car supermarkets when buying our cars because we like the personal service but we didnt really have a choice!
However we were pleasantly surprised when visiting the showroom. Our salesman Dean greeted us in a very professional manner and the service he gave was like something from a 5 star hotel! Nothing was an issue for him getting keys or info on cars was all a breeze would recommend to all!
I went to TCW to buy a new car for my birthday (Thursday). When I got there I was met by [name] who showed me round and then left me to look around for myself. After looking around the huge range of stock I found the car I wanted (57 reg Ford Mondeo TDCI). I told [name] and he then took me to sort out the finance. Whilst i was sorting out the finance the car went to have the MOT and to be cleaned. Once all the paper work had been sorted i was then given the car keys and drove the 83 miles home to Bristol. Everything was great and i went to work that night (Thursday) and i was very happy.
THIS IS WHERE THE PROBLEMS STARTED
Friday morning after finishing work i got into my car and the fuel gauge was telling me i had no fuel. i knew this was not true as the previous night before work i had put £40 in. So i went and put another £10 in and it then told me i had 1/4 of a tank. By the time i got home it told me i had 3/4 of a tank.I then went to work that night (Friday) and when i finished Saturday morning i went to do some shopping. I finished the shopping and put it on the back seat. When i started the car it then told me the rear door was open so i checked it and it was firmly closed. I drove home but when i went to lock the car it would not lock because of the rear door. I decided i would stay up to phone the customer care centre at 9am. When i got through i spoke to [name] and explained the problems to him. He then told me i had to phone back Monday morning. Over the weekend 2 other problems became apparent. There was a strange noise as you pulled off and the drivers window would not automaticly go up. I phoned back Monday morning as i was asked and also informed [name] of the other problems. He told me to bring the car back to them on Thursday. I told him that when i bought the car they said because i come from Bristol they would be able top set up an account with a VAT registered garage to save me having to travel 83 miles again. [name] told me this is not the case and to bring the car back on Thursday. This means working a 10 hour night shift Wednesday and going straight from work to TCW another 83 miles. When i arrived i met with [name] and a Technician where i explained the problems again. I also asked for some sort of compensation for the expense of having to come back when all of the above issues are supposed to be checked on the 99 point check that they are so proud of. [name] point blankly just said NO. I then waited around for about 2 hours before they told me they would have to keep the car and give me a loan car as the problems could not be sorted in 1 day. It then took about another hour for them to sort this out and wanted to give me a Hyundai i10. i told [name] this was no good as i could not fit my babys pram in the boot. He then told me he could give me a Vauxhall Zafira. Ok great i said. When i got in the car i was shocked. There was fag ash all over it and there was no fuel. I then went to see the general manager (another [name]) i explained the situation to him and after a brief discussion he agreed he would put some fuel in the loan car. He then sent one of the employees to take the car to the garage and put some fuel in. When the employee returned he handed me the keys and said he had put £10 in Was it really worth it. I was tired and wanted to get home so i took the car and had to put another £30 in to get me back to Bristol. After having the car for 2 days the engine management light is now on. I phoned TCW on sunday and explained the situation to which they said do not drive the car and phone back Monday. This really helps as i have a young family.
It has got to the point now where i will phone them up on Monday and tell them i am coming back to get my car and i will wait till after the 28 days and take it to Ford.
I would not recommend that anyone goes to TCW you will be truly disappointed.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE STAY AWAY
I purchased a Audi A6 from there on 16/10/12 and took it back the same day as there was blue smoke coming from the exhaust and a brake warning light came up on the dashboard. The TCW mechanic came out and said that the smoke from the exhaust was normal for this type of engine, and because I turned the ignition off the warning light on the dashboard had cleared so without looking into it the mechanic said it was fine so I took his word for all the things he said as I'm not mechanically minded.
On day 2 whilst driving the brake warning light came on again so I took the car back down to TCW where they just changed the bulb and said it was sorted.
On the 25/10/12 the brake warning light appeared on the dashboard followed shortly after by a engine management light. I took the car back to TCW the following day, and 6 weeks later it is still there with no sign of having it back.
I they're defence they did give me a courtesy car, but that only last 2 weeks cause it had a collapsed wheel bearing so now I have a different one. I've tried asking if they would replace the car i purchased as I have no faith in it but they're refusing to do it.
If you have loads of money and don't mind loosing it or throwing it away then I would highly recommend this place, if not then id certainly look else where. I'm really hoping TCW will see this so feel free to email me with your poor excuses gareth85@hotmail.co.uk.
I hope this has been a useful review for other potential buyers
Our experience of trade centre Wales was unfortunetly not very pleasant. I do not usually like to write negative reviews about companies etc but feel like i should give some feedback on the poor experience.
We were very excited to be going to T.C.W as the advertisement looked very good and on internet said there was a big range of choice at cheap rates (Excellent). We are from Wales but live 2hours from this destination so had to travel which wasnt initially a problem because it looked like a great place to look for a car.
When we arrived there was no warm greetings by any of the staff. One member when we went outside was actually heaving up flem in the corner and i actually thought it was a customer at first being sick. There wasnt a big range of cars if im honest (we were after a seat as a first choice and only had a choice of 2cars out of the whole place). Some of the cars didnt look as well kept as maybe they could have been to be on show (Scratches, things still in them etc). Also think the prices were actually quite pricey for what you actually get and was overall quite dissapointed with the service. The experience wasnt a pleasant one for our family but obviously everybody is entitled to their different opinions. Hope this review helps a few people :)
Warranty doesnt cover anything. They put everything down to wear and tear, so that they dont have to pay out. Not worth the paper its written on. Even if you have only just bought the car and not done much mileage they do not help you. Keep away from buying their warranty as will not get anything paid for by them
I was looking to change my car to allow me to tow a caravan, the ideal car was an estate with a high kerbweight to allow me to tow. I explained to the sales assistant my requirements, and he pointed me to the direction of a number of cars that may suit my requirement and allowed me some time to look around. When he returned, I identified a car that I liked but once again stated my requirements and asked him for the cars kerbweights. The sales assistant went to the desk and appeared to me looking on the computer for the details and he informed me that the car was 1500kg kerbweight, which was ideal. I therefore purchased the car as I believed that it met my needs. I have done a car and caravan suitablility check, only to find out that the car's unlaiden weight is 1315kg which restricts available caravans to purchase. Therefore in future, I will not trust what sales assistant's say & request details to check myself.
I was well impressed with the centre and the staff. Craig, the sales person was really helpful and the whole experience was a good one.
TCW agreed to polish out some small scratches and repair damage to the bumper but on collection they had not done so. Driving the vehicle home it was obvious the wheels were not balanced at all, leaving the steering to shake, the passenger seat belt doesn't retract, the dipped headlamp bulbs were not fitted correctly meaning I couldn't see properly in the dark, although the hedges either side of the car were nicely lit! Different size tyres on the front and back of the car. Does make me wonder if their mechanics are qualified at all.
The salesmen are good though and are in possession of most of the vehicle details whilst you are walking around and are more than happy to fetch keys. No test drives unless you are committing to buy. Previous purchase from TCW 3 years ago was much better, won't be going there again.
It was nice to look for a vehicle and not get the hastle of a salesman following you around trying to force you into a sale,Dean the salesman who I spoke with was very helpful and understanding of my needs and budget, If I was going to be a little picky was the fact that they had so many nice cars on show lol.
Entered the showroom mid morning, drove away that evening. All the staff were extremely helpful and delivered on what they promised.
They made the whole experience hassle free.
My cherished plate was all organised and replacement plates organised and fitted the same day that I contacted them.
The car is all that I wanted it to be and more
It's the quickest I have ever bought a car! Looked around on Saturday and picked it up on Monday. So far so good with the car itself, a seemingly well organised outfit
Me and the wife traveled from Cardiff to buy a Fiesta after having a long chat with the sales department by phone on our budget and the sort of car we were looking for. It was definately a worthwhile journey, the car was exactly as described which we bought and are extremely happy with
Great welcome when you arrive. No hassle from salestaff just friendly service and are extremely helpfulll.A pleasure to do business with all round, would definately recommend to anyone buying a used car!!!!!! 10/10.
I was so excited to have seen a car that I would have liked to have purchase, It had quite a few scratches over the body work of the car which I was told that they would polish them out for me before I took delivery of it. So I left a deposit to hold the car.
The day came for me to pay the balance and take delivery of it. I was so looking forward to driving off in it.
But found that the scratches still remained it looked as if it hadn't been touched. I told them that I was so disappointed and was not going to purchase the car from them after all.
I asked them to return my deposit that I had already paid.
I will not be buying a car from them in the future.
The night I picked up my car the excitement was gone when I realised the car wouldn't lock and a month later the problem is still not fixed. After having the car for 5 days the airbag light came on this fault is still not fixed. So far I have been to the dealership twice and back to TCW 3 times both me and my husband have had to take time off work to ferry this car around and the cost of the diesel and no offer to just supply another car till its fixed. This has caused issues with my job and it seems the staff cannot be bothered. I work in customer service and frankly if I acted the way TCW do I would get sacked. My husband is taking the car back tomorrow morning to see if they can fix it - again he has had to take the morning off. TCW sell dodgy cars with no regard for their customers we are treated like fools.
Salesman Tim was friendly, polite and informative. Collection man Brett again was great BUT we were assured we had enought diesel in the car to get us to the nearest garage and this was not the case. By the time we reached the dual carriage way immediately in front of the centre, the car was barely in motion, bunny hopping down the road, we ran out of fuel on the roundabout. The garage mechanic was rude beyond belief, and I quote "this is more than my jobs worth to bring fuel to you" and "I'm doing you a favour!!". We eventually dragged out a meanlingless apology from the shift manager who made a bad situation worse with his atrocious manner and appalling attitude.
Everybody was very helpful, not pushy. They made buying a car a pleasure not a hindrance. It was easy to do,thank you
The guys and gals at trade centre were really easy to talk to with no pressure to take out extra covers on purchasing the car they just needed to tell you and give you all info they have to! Any problems with the car i brought have been sorted or are in the pipe line! Sales guys didnt seem too pushy but i had no idea what car i wanted and any info i required it was there! The sales guys were patient although i was a nightmare of a buyer! Even helped me by allowing me to use the computer to find out about car insurance before i purchased it! Very happy with my purchase and everyone i dealt with! Would recommend going to trade centre to everyone they have so much choice! Alot of my family have already had cars from them! Also they gave me the best part ex price from my car! Very impressed indeedy!!
on the whole I found the whole visit pretty good, the salesman was determined, but to be fair he wasn't too pushy, there was a few small things wrong with the car which tcw put right straight away, I am a returning customer and would certainly buy from them again. Overall a pretty good buying experience!
The friendliness of the salesman and the helpfulness of the office staff made this a relatively painless experience of parting with 1000's of pounds! I would recommend TCW to family and friends and expect to do future business with them.
