Definitely cheaper that high street bank transfers. Took around 24 hours for the money to arrive within EU.
We have used a few people to fund our Florida house and a Euro bank account, but I don't think you can beat the rates you get with Transferwise.
The transaction was fast. Easy. But most of all cheap. I needed to send euro abroad and transferwise made it completely hassle free and easy from the comfort of my own home. I will continue to use the service and would recommend it to anybody thinking of using it.
I heard about TransferWise from other people living in the UK and I thought I would give it a try. At first I was a bit afraid to transfer the money to an account in Estonia but the service worked great, fast and you are informed where your money is throughout all the process. Totally reliable, I would use it in the future if I have a need to transfer my money again.
I regularly make transfers between Sterling, Euros and Swiss Francs. It's great to at last have an alternative. Based on my first transaction Transferwise is fast, easy and vastly cheaper than the exorbitant charges of the other options via major banks or FX exchanges. In my case cost was about 6 Euros, compared to 50 Euro via Lloyds TSB.
Will certainly use again.
I stumbled upon transferwise while looking for a way to transfer money from the UK to the USA after an international move. This company is amazing! Transfers are fast, fees are low, foreign exchange rates are better than I could get anywhere.
It is the best and most economical way way ,which I have so far found, for transferring euros into my foreign bank account and it offers the best exchange rates - even better than the exchanges from which you buy euros in cash. I would now always use it for transferring money abroad.
But what I would also like ( just in case a complete collapse of Portuguese banks) is a transfer back system into sterling!
nice website. simple and efficient (maybe a bit slow to transfer if no extra fee)
I had my doubts as i didn't like the idea of transferring money with a company I didn't have any previous experience with - unlike my bank, who even though i had my reservations about how much they would somehow charge me, at the very least i knew that the money would arrive where it should because i could trust them not to run off with my money.....however it all went very well, the process was easy to follow, quick and efficient and of course i saved money too!
All in all i would recommend TransferWise!
Everything went incredibly smoothly. I see no reason to ever pay bank fees for international transfers again. Even their website is great - it's not every day that you see a service like this with a beautiful UI!
I find the company very good, the system is very user friendly
I couldn't believe it at first but the exchange rates are excellent, the fees low and the service professional and reliable. This is made possible simply by exploiting the fact that SEPA interbank transfers are free of charge. I can't believe I threw so much money at my bank before. Recommend without reservation.
Hard to comment since my money hasn't arrived at the destination ( 4 days and counting )
No phone support after office hours isn't helpful either...
Say goodbye to losing money on international transfer with bank fees and poor FX rates, Transferwise offers an amazing service, I highly recommend it
We've done 2 transfers with transfer wise and both have been really easy. We didn't have to go to our bank to make payments and we can access the service abroad. The best service I've found so far for transferring money to our Spanish account.
If you want to avoid the outrageous charges that banks make for sending money abroad, I would recommend the service provided by TransfWise.
Just like it said on the tin.
We wanted to pay for a holiday apartment in euros into a Spanish bank account.
The deposit was 130 euros and the bank wanted 20 euros to send the money at a stupid exchange rate. My partner is 'careful' with money and this was adding extra to our holiday budget.
Transferwise worked brilliantly and we wil be using it for all our future holidays
If you use owners direct (as we do) then this will help when the owner does not have a UK bank account
Very trustworthy company, keeps you informed every step of the way!Great value for money and I do not feel ripped off like with the banks.........
After using them 3 times now, I can not fault them in any way.
Their service is extremely simple to use, with clear instructions that walk you through the process.
All steps of the transfers were paired with clear status updates via email.
I had to contact their support relating to an issue not of their doing, and their support team were very helpful, polite, professional and quick to provide what I needed.
Perfect - quick, cheap and safe - ideal for people living abroad to make regular payments.
I looked at a range of organisations to transfer money to Germany and found that TransferWise was simple to use and offered the best exhange rates. The transfer was concluded on the day specified and I was advised that the money was in the recipients account. I will be using TransferWise in the future
TransferWise is a great Service.
Easy : The signup process is straight forward. It is very easy with a google account.
Quick: I did the transfer during the afternoon, the money was in my account the next day in the morning. Even quicker than the estimate on the website.
Cheap: I saved 2.5% of the amount I transferred compare to the quote&fee I got from my bank
Reliable: I was able to check online the status of the transfer and contact easily TransferWise team to address any concern.
The only thing TransferWise is lacking is the transfer from USD.
Please add USD and the service will be close to perfect.
After tried many services for transfer money from sterling pounds to euros I found transferwise. They do an excellent job, very fast and with the best rates you can find anywhere. Totally recommended
It's the easyest and cheapest solution to transfer money abroad
Easy to get started. I like the way I can save clients/friends for future use. Emails are reassuring, letting me know when payment is made and how much I have saved. Slight niggle finding how to log out: go to home page. Otherwise excellent. Have used twice now.
Process was relatively easy, although I had to email TransferWise to get CAD added as an option.
Overall I was very pleased with the exchange rate I got, It was better than the mid rate on the day which is impressive.
I would use again.
I would have given 5 stars but there is one thing I find difficult to understand and that's the fees they are charging the customer to do the transfer. I would like that more straight forward
I am restoring a property in France, a decade long project, and from time to time have had to transfer large sums of money to my account there. I have always used a bank before, paid a flat rate of £25, and gambled on when they would make the transaction and therefore what the exchange rate would be. In March 2013 I made my first large transfer for two years. Two banks offered me exchange rates of 1.11 and 1.12 euros to the pound. Then I discovered TransferWise on Martin's Money Tips. It was much cheaper to transfer small amounts (£2K) and I got a much better rate of exchange (about 1.15 the first time). By breaking down the amount I sent over into smaller parcels I could even out the effects of a fluctuating exchange rate. Although I eventually paid more in transfer fees, the much better exchange rate left me 'quids (or euros) in'. I cannot see why I should ever want to use a bank again for these transactions.
For years I had been paying Western union huge amounts of money (in comparison to what Transferwise charges me), plus the hassle of retiring the money for the receiver is (with Western union) solved, cause Transferwise delivers the money directly to a bank account.
This is one of the best startup concepts and proof that banks and other financial institutions overcharge their customers. The owners of Transferwise have built a solid, reliable, cheap and fast system (they are still making some profits) here.
Keep up the good work! I am sure in your fixed customer base now.
as the site say: goodbye bank, you had your fun
Absolutely love TransferWise... best thing to come out this year!
Living between countries, I always have to do transfers and the banks were ripping me off every time.
I'd recommend TransferWise to anyone. Super quick service and really easy to use UI.
Thanks guys!
When I thought I had a problem overnight, Transferwise rang me first thing in the morning to help. The dialogue box was also invaluable to clear confusion immediately. The whole service was seamless and efficient.
This seems to be a great business model - avoids exchanging currencies by swapping between people in different countries. Bank charges are outrageous and this service has worked really well and easy for me. The interface is great and easy to use.
