Booking ref- F11821886
We returned from India yesterday. We booked a flight from Goa to London Heathrow- Condor/DE39 through Tripsta. We arrived at the airport in Goa, only to be told that the flight didn't exist! As I'm sure you can image we were under great stress!!! We were in an unfamiliar country, with no flight home!
We tried to call Tripsta 5 times with no success. Luckily the attendants at the airport were extremely helpful and we were able to book an alternative flight home later on the next day through a REPUTABLE agent. We had to pay for a taxi back to our hotel, fork out for another night AND pay for additional flights home via Mumbai!!!!!
We WILL be following this up and requesting a FULL refund for our flights and additional expenses plus compensation and if our request is denied we will be taking it much further.
I strongly suggest if you are looking for an agent from which to book your flights etc- LOOK ELSEWHERE!!!!!!! Being stuck is NOT a good feeling and is not something I'd wish on anyone!!!
My booking number is: F8585924
I was waiting 60 days, after that you wrote me, that my money will be on my account in 7-10 days, after this time you wrote me to wait another days, so now i am waiting almost 3 months after you confirmed my cancel.
Where is my money???
I booked return Serbian Airline/JAT air tickets London/Belgrade 21 days before my trip. I paid £217 via tripsta.
30 minutes later I checked otther sources of these tickets and found:
- [external reference] £172
- [external reference] £176
- [external reference] £187
- tripsta at this time (30 minutes after my purchase) £294.
When I questioned Tripsta about these excessive prices they gave no satisfactory response, giving only generalities such as 'Tripsta has to follow the agreement with the supplier'. I refuse to believe Tripsta is forced by the supplier to impose a surcharge of 16%, which I paid, or 57% which I would have paid had I purchased my ticket 30 minutes later. The least I would have expected from Tripsta is a specific explanation and an apology.
I shall not use tripsta again!
The booking process was simple HOWEVER, I received confirmation of booking from Tripsta and thought nothing of the flight booking ref NO SYNC - interesting I thought to have such a coherent code - but there was no correspondence to say this was an issue.
Upon trying to check in online I realised the code was in valid and rang Tripsta to confirm what the correct code was. The initial code i was provided with was incorrect and resulted in me being locked out of the online check in system.
Upon calling Tripsta back the correct code was provided and I was advised I would not need to clear my cookies to enable me to check in online.
To much frustration, I was still locked out of the system.
I cleared my cookies and was then able to check in online - however not before rebooking my taxi for an hour earlier to ensure I was able to check in at the airport (i was on a 0710 flight so the taxi was early enough as it was)
Had I been informed I was missing details or to clear my cookies when I enquired if this was required, I could have followed this up earlier and been ready to check in.
This also would have resulted in a better review.
I booked a flight (no problems with the original booking process) but then had to change my date due to work commitments. I bought the service package along with the flight as I knew there was a chance of a date change being required and the service package offered date changes within the airline policy charged at only the airline rate. Once it became apparent that the date change would be going ahead I got in touch with Tripsta to arrange this date change, and that is where the problems began. Unfortunately it didn't work this way as each email from the company contained a different statement regarding my flight - it's OK, call us to pay the airline date-change fee; it's not available on the date you want; it IS available on the date you want, but at double the airline fee originally quoted; your ticket can only be changed to a date in the next couple of months and the date requested to change to is too far away - you have to cancel the ticket and get a 50% refund, then book it again. Apparently this was all because they were waiting for confirmation from the airline, however at no point did they insert a comment along the lines of "we're waiting to hear the policy from the airline, but this is what we THINK you will have to pay/do". Eventually I went to the airline office here in Hanoi to try and get a straight answer regarding airline policy/date change prices and was able to change my ticket there and then. There were no restrictions on the date change and I could do it for the original lower price quoted by Tripsta. I now have a ticket in my hand with the new date on it, so assume everything will go off without a hitch when I get to the airport.
I bought the service package from Tripsta along with my flight specifically because there was a chance I'd have to change my flight. However, if I'd followed Tripsta's final suggestion of cancelling my flight and rebooking I'd lose double the amount of money compared to a straight up date change charged by the airline. Having to travel out to the airline office in Hanoi and deal with this myself effectively rendered the extra money paid to Tripsta a total waste, not to mention the fact that I had to take half a day of unpaid leave from work to be able to go there during their office hours.
While it's perfectly understandable that Tripsta don't know every fact about every policy for every airline, I don't understand why they weren't willing to admit that and instead felt that it was better to try and guess the information and email me a different suggestion each day.
If your flight details are definitely locked in I would imagine that you would have no problem with Tripsta as my original purchase was fine, but if you think your flight details might change, I'd suggest going with an alternative company who don't happily take your money for an extra package offering customer service and then fail miserably to provide it. I don't think it was malicious intent on their part to pocket that extra money, but it certainly wasn't worth paying extra for such useless service. It also might be worth confirming any statement/pricing from Tripsta regarding ticket changes with the airline directly as the customer service reps I corresponded with didn't appear to have access to the correct information most of the time.
I had to travel through various countries and time zones and it was difficult for me to know what time is my flight n each country and adjust to the time zone. But tipsta always txted me nearer the time to board and checkin, otherwise I would have missed my flights. It is an excellent service from buying the ticket to receiving emails and after sales service.
Other agents takes the money and do not guarantee a flight for you then it takes 20 days to get your money back and they do not want to know you after selling you the ticket and take yur money While Tipsta is the best after sales service I ever experienced in my life and bery competitive price.
Air France cancelled the scheduled flight on the 22nd August and I was offered an alternative on the 21st. This was most inconvenient, but the only other option was a refund!
I needed to change my flight and saw I am supposed to do everything by email so did. I could have cancelled the flight on the Lufthansa page up to 24 hours in advance but thought I would be nice and play by the rules. Email exchange as below (with addresses etc cut out):
Dear Customer Service,
Yes, I realise that. That is why I emailed around 27 hours BEFORE the flight asking to change it. Very bad service. I will not be using this site again.
Dear Mrs. Rowand,
Thank you for your email.
Unfortunately, you can not recive any amount back, as for no show, the amount is non refundable.
Dear Customer Service,
Yes I wish to change the entire flight.

Thank you for choosing tripsta.co.uk.
I would like to change the following flight from Wroclaw to Frankfurt to Friday 23rd August. Can you tell me if this is possible and if so how to do it and where to pay the fee?
Lied to by customer service! Never would I use them again! I had to go to BA to change my ticket as Tripsta told me it was non changeable, non refundable and that BA said they wouldnt change it. drive to Hearhrow spoke to BA changed it for £40
Awful service - said they would call me back but instead emailed me!!!
The problem with this company is despite advertising all prices in pounds and having a .co.uk website and a UK telephone number this company is based in Greece and charges your credit card in euro's. A fact you only find out about at the very end of the transaction. This has cost me an extra £150 in foreiogn currency transaction charges - not happy.
Mike Green found this review useful
The ticket was fine, but confirming it was very stressful. I'd payed for it online, but suddenty they needed personal details to confirm the online credit card payment. Bizarre. Poor English, provided two numbers one which didn't work and I almost lost my booking. I don't think I'll be using the service again to be honest.
I am a first time customer of Tripsta so wasn't sure what to expect. Overall I found the booking experience pretty straightforward and easy to do.
My only complaint was when I initially tried to get a bit more specific with my booking - i.e. book specific seats and meals on flights. It took a little while to work out which booking number I should use as there are many numbers given on the Tripsta confirmation sheet - e-ticket, booking ref etc. Plus didn't realise until my return leg that I had to log in directly to the separate airlines to complete seat requests for both. If i had made the booking direct with them, it would have been clearer. So i guess not really Tripsta's fault but some help or advice would have been useful.
I had to make a booking really quickly, tripsta was the cheapest option and a quick booking was able to be made.
Also all questions were answered promptly.
It was the first time I had used tripsta and I will definitely use them again and recommend them to friends.
Tripsta has decent pricing. But should you ever need to make a change, the tickets will likely be gone before you have exchanged the necessary emails to finalize. Why? Because they almost always insist that everything is by email, there are delays in response and all their changes must be made with the local Athens office of the airline which has limited opening hours.
If it is a very standard ticket then maybe.
But you always run a risk.....
Never make a change and never have an emergency. Otherwise it is better to deal with the airline directly or with one of the larger travel agents who is able to process changes at any time.
Tripsta customer service is an absolute joke. DO NOT USE TRIPSTA.
After reading mixed reviews I was a bit worried about using them, but did it anyway because of the price they've offered. Flight confirmation was in my inbox at the speed of light. No hitches and no glitches besides that.
The flight ticket prices were reasonable but the surprise additional payment fees at the end when I had to make the payment with my credit card what exorbitant. Definitely will not recommend this to others because of this hidden charges
Regardless of what you hear about this site, they have a very professional staff that is always ready to help.
I did not have any problems with the reservation nor anything but i just was asking some questions and they were quick and accurate.
I will always plan my vacations on this site
We are happy with the service and find that Tripsta are competitive. (They could be more competitive, but so could every one) They have a grand back-up team/service which gives you confidence.
If orders for flights don't go through please mention on the page that comes up informing of failure that it could be due to the browser, I tried with internet explorer, then spend 20 minutes onto my back trying to find out why the payment did not go through. if I had known there was an issue with internet explorer I would have saved myself a lot of time and problems on what was a particularly busy day.
Had to cancel flights due to unavoidable health reasons but airline company totally unwilling to accommodate this.
Furthermore, they included airline cancellation costs as well as company cancellation costs when I had got written confirmation from the airline company that there was no cancellation charges involved.
Would never book with the same company again.
I have v good experience with your agency except the final price which appear after use of credit card and then one feel surprise to see a big difference between shown and hidden charges
