dealing with Tripsta was a difficult and lengthy ordeal

I had to change my flight booking, when it came to getting in contact with Tripsta from abroad it was difficult and lengthy. The phone number given did not work from where I was abroad or from the UK when my parents tried phoning them on my behalf. Their email response usually took a couple of days, so to answer a simple question became a lengthy ordeal.
Also whether or not I could change my flight booking was very unclear and I found myself going back and forth between Tripsta and the airline, both telling me to contact the other about the booking.
In the end I had to buy a new ticket with a different company and lost all money and return ticket with Tripsta.

A Little Unhappy

I truly thought I had the deal of a life-time getting a flight from Michigan to Arizona at $336.00. Upon receiving my card statement I found it cost me #551.76. An additional fee of $215.76. I am sorry but I will not recommend this service to anther. I was told when contacting tripsta it ws so stated when I applied. Must have been in the smallest print for the naked eye to see. I bragged up this deal and am sorry I did. Thank you

IDIOTPROOF!!

Booking with this company was incredibly easy, the service was fast and efficient and when I did need to call the company to enquire about where I'd be seated, the staff were not only accomodating, but prompt at answering the phone and polite. Will never use Tripsta again!

I made a simple mistake when booking a flight online from Milan to Brussels and picked the wrong month for a flight - I used the wrong calendar month. I contacted Tripsta after receiving the confirmation and was told - as per terms and conditions - that there will be a fee for the change which I understood, but they kept providing me with a different flight time that was originally booked for the amended flight- and that would have brought me to the city after the planned meeting in Brussels. The flight cost was 62 pounds and the cost of changing was 90 euro! additional. This - I have now seen with several companies - is becoming a disincentive to purchasing tickets online, as a simple typing mistake locks you in badly. I made the same mistake with a flight with Virgin Australia and contacted them in the same way and they recognized the simple mistake on the system and amended without even a penalty fee. If I had booked with Expedia (which I eventually did for the same flights at the time I wanted) - I could have at least cancelled within 24 hours and not to have to incur the costs of the ticket twice or any cancellation fee.
So, I will never use Tripsta services again and as a professional tourism operator will never recommend it either.

Terrible purchase layout led to mis-buying a ticket

I was looking for prices for a ticket to Yemen, and while filling out the forms to see what price the ticket was, I clicked a button that said something like confirm. It was not a final form, and there was no indication that I was committing to any kind of purchase. Yet I received an inbox later saying I had purchased a ticket I did not intend to buy. I contacted tripsta immediately to cancel the selection, but never got any kind of helpful response, nor did they acknowledge the misleading design.

Good prices, not if you have to change details

We have used tripsta to book out flights and they were definitely the cheapest flights available with a Non-low cost airline. Great!
Then for family reasons we had to re-schedule out trip abroad and so we have contacted the airline thinking of Paying a small fee for amendi g out flights.
Initially we were told that we had to go through tripsta, then from tripsta we were told that for any change, there was going to be a £80.00 penalty fee (each) even before checking new flights fares.

Long story short, we had to "miss" our flights and book new ones directly from the airline. not ideal If you like me travel with family as the expense of amending possibles little mistakes can cost you loads!!!

Not impressed

The values entered on the system is in dollars(I think) once purchase was made the total debited from account did equate to the conversion value, so what you see is not what you get,always hidden cost.

Poor - lts of changes after booking and poor response re refunds

It might not be Tripsta's fault when schedules etc change, but when I had to ask several times for flights to be changed, cancelled, refunded etc it sometimes took much more than 48 hours - plus several email reminders - to get the required response. 60 days for the refund s a long time - if booked through Tripsta they should be able to refund immediately too

Good price for a scheduled flight

After a few hiccups sorting out flight numbers and ref. code the on line service was very good and cheaper than Eazyjet or Ryanair. Airline could not decide if it was BA or Iberia giving different flight providers out and back. Not Tripsta's fault.

Headline price was increased when making payment

I was relying on the headline price on the website when considering the flight booking. I was very disappointed to discover, after going through most of the booking process, that the only way to get the headline price was to pay by Electron Card only. No other cards were acceptable, not even a debit card and I was told that a cheque would be refused. I was also shocked to discover that although the price was clearly advertised in sterling, a conversion to Euros was charged on my credit card which I was not expecting. I feel that the headline price should be displayed in Euros at inception and there should be several ways of paying to avoid add on charges. I thought this was all very sharp practice and that these practices had been outlawed. Other wise the booking was straight forward.
