Better than eBay

I have been with eBid for a little over a year. Yes sales are slower, but apart from that they beat eBay on every other count. Sales are improving, all my feedback is from eBid and only 10-15% of buyers have left feedback. I have seen a marked increase in sales recently and frequently sell higher priced items. For buyers the majority of items are cheaper than eBay, admittedly the choice is lower. Sellers and Buyers are treated fairly and you are contacted quickly if you have a problem.

If you want to check my feedback go to my main (free) store at http://kreative-fashions.ebid.net/

Ebid

UTTER TRASH and 2 million different types of account - headache.

This pathetic company will NEVER hit the big time. It's amateur hour, the business model stinks. They have such an ugly, messy user interface that feels like 1999 HTML and the number of accounts and types is so damn confusing I doubt even the staff (if they employ staff?) understand them.

Ebid

I like the Staff there are no buyers

I have been on Ebid for over a year and have only sold one item. I am the cheapest on Ebid and have quite of few different items. I went back to Ebay and started making my money right away.

I am not happy with Ebay, just they have buyers that keep food on the table. Hope this helps. I have noticed cheap signed cards are a big hit. I don't have any, just bought some to sell.

Ebid

Don't Use this site

As normal you register then it makes a life time offer of selling for £49.
A few hours later it blocks me and asks for ID and address and this is after I paid using paypal !!!
BEWARE THAT SOME OF THE REVIEWS WHICH ARE POSITIVE REGARDING EBID ARE FAKE.
STAY AWAY FROM THESE GUYS.

Ebid

Well worth the Ebid lifetime membership fee

I paid the £49.99 lifetime membership fee.
More than made back the monies spent.

Better visibility than previously was recieving on the ebay site back in 2008
Some ebay sellers complain their sales have died, but they still have to pay listing fees, plus numerous relist fees which eat into the profits.
With Ebid lifetime membership there are No numerous relist fees to be paid, so sellers get to keep more of the profit from each of their sale.

Customer support is excellent very quick with replies

Scamming buyers & sellers are dealt with quite quickly when reported.

I did not have a problem with having to produce verification before being allowed to sell on ebid, I would of thought ebid asking for verification was a sensible safety procedure.

Ebid What Looked Like A Sellers Answer From Heaven Quickly Turned Into An Online HELL of a Scam The Ebid FACTS + Ebid Support Contact Phone Number HERE

Ok..so..your thinking of starting up on Ebid..perhaps your a regular seller on Ebay whos tired of there astronomical fees and the $49.99 "LIFETIME membership" Ebid offers looks just too good to be true..the answer to our financial struggles..no more fees..no more selling limitations..they accept Paypal so its safe and everything is just too damn good to walk away from this is unbelievable offer !! Right??
Hello my name is Todd Guyot..i am the CEO of direct-effect-online-sales on Ebay..i have been a seller for about 3 years on Ebay..and i..just as you are probably about to now (hopefully you havent yet) saw this incredible opportunity Ebid has to offer...STOP!!! WALK AWAY..no..RUN AWAY SCREAMING!!! BUT FIRST READ THIS !!!
I just today fell into this Ebid trap and dropped the $49.99 for a lifetime membership..(after reading all the "member reviews" Ebid posted about there site everything looked amazing and pleasant..turns out those "member reviews" are actually from Ebid staff members) I spent about 4 hours setting up my storefronts page and settings..taking pictures for listings (since they say the can import all your Ebay listings "easily" but once you pay..there is no option to do so..only a link that says you have to download in order to import..but fails to download everytime) so anyway i had listed about 4 items and then suddenly it all BLEW UP IN MY FACE!!
They blocked me from posting listings unless i sent them my drivers license and utility bill..WTF?!?! First of all they have my paypal information were i am verified with an extensive history..as well as my Ebay store info were i am also verified and have over a 460+ feedback score @ 98%...they say if you put some "code" into your "about me" space in your Ebay store they will verify you by importing your feedback..wich "should only take 20 minutes tops" as they claim..i did this process 4 times and it is now 6 hours later..ive received NO RESPONSE back..i have sent them numberous emails asking an explanation..i tried emailing there customer support and it isnt even a valid recipiant address it says..i tried Google searching for there contact phone #..guess what? THEY DONT EVEN HAVE A PHONE FOR CUSTOMER SUPPORT!!
You are at the mercy of either a fake Email address they provide for support..or an "I.M" type of message you can get to by going to the "contact us" tab and opening a "ticket" to wich there only reply back (no matter what your question or comment is) is "we have received your question..we will have our staff review it and get back to you later"...WOW!!
Why dont they just be straight up and say "for any questions or concerns submit them into your toilet and flush..we already got your money so we dont really care about your problems".
At least if i flushed a question i had t would eventually end up going somewere.
IT GETS BETTER!!
So i contacted Paypal and explained my concerns about Ebid and was even supplied with a contact # for Ebid that Paypal has on File (Country code #44-208-123-1082)..DONT MAKE THAT CALL JUST YET!!...Its a FAKE/ Disconected # !
Yes thats right..even the number Paypal provided me was an invalid number that reads as an error when dialed...DONT WAIST YOUR TIME.
What you CAN DO is... if you were as ignorant to Ebids trickery as i was and have already payed Ebid (for your sake I hope you used Paypal to pay the $49.99 lifetime membership fee) you can call Paypal and tell them Ebid is not a shipable product and in your eyes is theft of a service provided..NOT an actual shippable good or physical merchandise..you will be issued a full refund within 24-48 hours..ASK to speak to Ryan..because of me he is informed of Ebids blatant misrepresentation of services provided and they are investigating Ebid for fraudulant services now after i had spoken with Paypal..I am a high priority member at Paypal in excellent standing and i used my status to get the ball rolling on this appaling "scam" Ebid is attempting...someone had to finally.. ive seen multiple complaints about Ebid but NOT ONE person seems to do a damn thing about it but bitch and/or complain...well thanks to me now you can all do something about it by contacting Paypal and getting your money back.
I sincerely hopes that it is this post i wrote that you happen to read first and that it helps you to avoid a dissaster.
If what ive taken my time to inform all of you on helps you avoid Ebid or gets your membership fees refunded, please let me know by simply saying "thank you" via Email @ originalsiko@yahoo.com or you can truely thank me buy going to Ebay @ direct-effect-online-sales and buying something from me..that way we both win..haha.

buyers STAY AWAY FROM EBID SCAM ALERT..EBID DONT CARE

i perchased a nintendo dsi from a seller on ebid for £55.00 + £5.49 postage
seller jaysworld
big mistake after waiting for the item for almost a week i noticed that the seller had not marked the item as sent which i was abit nervous about so i asked the seller in a polite manor if he had sent my dsi yet, his listing stated he would send within 48 hours of recieving payment...
his responce was... i was going to send it today 1st class but now im not going to, as you have shown nothing but greed, how do you expect the item to be there already anyway. i will refund you and someone else can enjoy cheap brand new dsi instead.
(the seller did not refund me)

i immediatly opened a paypal dispute against the seller and informed ebid about this seller, paypal are now working to recover my money however ebid have done nothing apart from notify me that the seller has responded to my questions which in fact was just more abuse from the seller....

i explaind to the seller that i did not expect the item to be with me already and that i had only asked if he had sent the dsi yet... i recieved more emails from seller saying that i am a let down to society and yet more abuse... i informed ebid of every email the seller sent to me which clearly showed that he was abusive towards me...i didnt even get a responce from ebid... the scammer has got my money i have no dsi and ebid dont care... there is no buyer protection on ebid... stay well away i am £60.49 down and may not recover the money from paypal if the scammer has already withdrawn the funds.. ebid have let this filthy scammer run free with my money.
this was my first purchase on ebid a christmas present for my 4 yr old son who has been bugging me for a nintendo dsi all year and i promised that santa would bring him one this christmas, im not in a financial position to go and buy another one as that money was what i had saved especially for my sons dsi, he will be so dissapointed when he opens his presents, what a great start to my buying experience on ebid i will not buy anything on there again and STRONGLY advise others not to.
sorry if you are a honest seller trying to earn money on ebid i would have loved to have give a good review and promote a happy customer experience, but the truth is i have been scammed and ebid just dont care.

Ebid

Ebid or ebay

I have recently started selling on Ebid. Iv been very happy with the services they offer so far. I have a seller + account which was a one time fee and then only a 2% end of sale fee which is great for me the seller and for customer as i don't have to increase my prices.

I also have a shop which looks great

Really happy

Ebid

NEVER USE EBID

All the good Ebid reviews are written by the staff. They offer no secure way to make CERTAIN that the item is sent to the buyer. I lost $175 on Ebid, without receiving what I bought, and as far as I can tell they offer no way to report ronselectro to make sure that he does not get away with this again!!!

Ebid

Ebid is a great alternative to Ebay

Because there are not many competitors left standing up against Ebay, Ebid certainly earns some points. Ebid also allows sellers to list for free, with upgrade options. Ebid also permits international purchasing and selling. Ebid offers many payment options, other than the Paypal. There is plenty of merchandise on Ebid, and it's not crowded like Ebay has been for years now. Ebay has certainly been known for stricter selling rules, and Ebid is still quite new to many ears. I say, if you have tried Ebay, why not also try Ebid. The average seller isn't going to waste much time posting free ads on another site. I have purchased just as many items from Ebid.net as I have from Ebay, and the quality service seems very similar. The site's help services has been prompt, and the seller's order processing has been swift. Ebid is a great alternative to Ebay.

Ebid

Good selling rate and cheap fees

I am rather knew to eBid and do not regret my investment at all (in the 2 months I've been a member). Sales are higher and fees are low, this is soon becoming one of the best auction sites around, and better yet, one of MY best investments yet! There is a strong friendly forum and customer support is kind and understanding, and not just shoving out automated responses! A++ eBid!

With poor customer support, dodgy counter, and no or minimal visibility on search engines , you may better off posting your sales on you local Tesco/ Wall-mart notice board. The Life time fee is the big bate.I fell for it as well. What a mistake.Tried to sell a few items .Had EXACTLY same adds and prices on EBAY and EBID. ALL !! items sold on EBAY.Not one on EBID.

no sales no views unless you beg for them i'm on bootbey and i've had more views on there then on ebid there need to do an ad on tv to get buyers then it could be a great auction site but if there ever did take out ebay watch there fees go up

Ebid

Pathetic

I have uploaded the same stock as is on ebay (100s of items) which I sell lots on ebay, over £1000 a month.
I have sold £20 on ebid in 9 months, absolutely pathetic!!
Shame as I paid them £79 for a lifetime membership. I could keep the stock on but I have to keep logging in and taking out of stock items off nearly every day so will remove all stock as it's a waste of time.

Poor support, not for serious seller: no sales, eBid just take your fees and tried all the tricks to block you.

I am a seller in eBid for more than two years. A waste of time and effort!
Recently eBid pretends to check your ID and who knows where they sell your info! All sort of excuses to rip off the membership fee £49.99 that you paid them, blocking seller out without any explanation!
A rip off! I felt cheated and ashamed to be an eBid member. Well, people is still dreaming with the cheap fees and future of eBid. Dream on, pay the membership and ...get kicked out, loosing at the end.
To me eBid is the biggest scam on the internet that I have encountered!
Bye bye eBid.

Do Your Research

I registered with E-bid a few years ago and in that time have sold 2 items. Yesterday I removed all my listings and gone back to E-Bay.
People trust me you MUST do your reasearch before entering into a partnership with any company.

I spent at least a week researching their methods and sign up details regarding Seller+ Liftime deal £49.95 I contacted them via email to answer a few questions I had. Well let me tell you that was pointless, reading afrom a well preppared script is NOT customer service.

Lillte know fact started to appear. I would really like to name a few people but can't really do that but try this people before entering to any dealing with E-bid. Log into their forum anyone can look in there. Check peoples profiles, you know the ones that say " Stick With E-Bid " " Sales Are Picking Up" click their feednback and see how many sales they are getting.

I did this a few days ago from a person who I can't name but does nothing other than promote E-Bid in their forum. They had been a customer for 2 years+ had a feedback of +31 This means they made a sale of 1.5 items a month. Now how can you state things are picking up when you cant sell more than 2 items a month.

There are many stories of people bing locked out of their account after paying £49.99 Lifetime + simply for selling high end products. They lock your account and ask you send ducumentation to prove you are who you say you are.

If this is that important to them why do they NOT request this information before taking your cash.

With the lifetime fee you get 5 FREE stores. I do not see the point in have 5 stores. I do not see the point in having one store. If sales are not there then there is not point.

So what about promoting the site and advertising? Well they ask you to pay the £49.95 and then ask you to promote them? Unreal.

Again read the forums people are all saying the same thing " Why are we doing the promoting "

I believe their forums are full of there own staff feeding everyone with promisses of things picking up.

Yes we all know the FEEs are low compaired to E-Bay but I can stand at the end of my drive giving away things for free all day long if they did not work.

Don't get me wrong people I do not think E-Bay are doing themselves any good with the way they are going at the moment. I do not fall on either side I think they both have there bad points.
But as a seller you have to go where the sales are and they ARE NOT on E-Bid.

Unless they change the way they do things it WILL NEVER COPMETE WITH THE BIGGER AUCTION SITES.

First of I would invest a shed load of cash to promote as much as possible for the long term. A few TV adverts here in the UK and in the USA.

Inform people BEFORE they sign up that documentation would be required if you sell high end products.

The best way for be to describe E-Bid is as follows:

This is an auction site a little like a massive Shopping Mall with thousands of sellers and stores.
BUT some bugger forget to open the doors in the morning to let the buyers in.

I gave them a 2 star rating and to be honest that was generous.

Best move I ever made.

Great company! Wonderful support. The friendliest group of sellers anywhere. There is always someone around to help if you get stuck on something. So glad I found them

Ebid

fun and friendly

I don't know why the reviews for eBid.net have been split into two (ebid.net and ebid.co.uk are one and the same!) Still, I can review both :)

Like many other eBid sellers I promote eBid whenever I can and it pays off in sales. I've recouped my £49.99 membership fee many times over and I can thoroughly recommend eBid both to sellers (who are prepared to put a bit of effort in) and to buyers (who can rest assured that scammers are not tolerated)

Ebid

Brilliant value website

I have been on eBid.net since February 2008, when I joined I jumped at the chance of paying a 1 off lifetime fee of £74.99 (rather than the PAYG system which starts at just 5p a listing), which in turn gave me free listings for the rest of my life of eBid's life
After starting up, I have made well over 5000 sales, mostly low cost items that were not feasible to sell on eBay due to the listing fees and final value fees.
The support team at eBid head quarters is fantastic, and this is 'backed up' by a wonderful community on the eBid forums.
Fairness to all and a level playing field is one of the most popular things with eBid in my opinion, this in line with zero to 3% fvf's is just what I needed in a site to sell.
Also, where else can you sell and item for hundreds or thousands and only pay a fee of £1/$1 etc by using the featured auction feature on eBid, and the featured is open to both big sellers and little sellers.
Yes eBid doesn't have the mass market of the big guy, but nor does it have the fees associated with the big guy.
When using eBid, you need (or it helps) to use a different concept of selling compared to ebay as comparing the sites is like comparing an aubergine to a pineapple

Rubbish for sellers

Treat lifetime sellers like rubbish - they've already got our money so why bother giving us good service! Cancel listings for no good reason and then it is impossible to get proper answers from support, they just keep copying and pasting irrelevant sections of their rulebook. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON A LIFETIME SELLER ACCOUNT!

Ebid is rubbish

Ebid charge money first then after one week, hold your account, ask you to provide some documents to prove. Why you don't do this first then charge money.
After you paid money, after a few month, then you can't log in again. Who knows when they will reply to your message.
Don't recommend this company. It's cheating.

Padoshee

After 6 years selling on ebay I was battered by their selling restrictions. 99.6% positive feedback. But ebay restricted me for life with no warnings or chance to do anything about it. I was finding I was paying fvf fees of 40 -50 pound a month. I had to offer free post on all items to improve my dsr's so made aloss most weeks. Thankfully I found ebid. I will never use ebay again they are ruthless cutthroats who HATE small sellers. If they feel you are not producing enough money for them they will harass you and break you as a seller. Ebid on the other hand offer lifetime free fees. I could not believe it. Ebid is like what ebay was many years ago agreat site. I can not recommend ebid enough. I just hope that when they get SUPER BIG they do not become like ebay. Go Ebid WOOHOO

Quiet but worth the money

I joined eBid in 2008 after eBay's high FVFs, I joined as a seller then decided to go for seller+ options for a few months, I noticed I wasn't getting sales and finally decided to upgrade to seller+lifetime and ended up paying just 4p because of previous subscriptions being deducted from the final total. Within 2years on eBid I have gained feedback of 226 positives, on eBay in 2yrs I only managed to gain 47, now I only use eBid and have over 200 active listings. I have found the forums friendly and support is very helpful it makes a change to get a response from a human and not a robot

Ebid...Where Small is Beautiful

I have been trading on eBid for almost 5 years. I joined in the spring of 2006 and have seen the site steadily grow in variety of items for sale and my own sales.

What I most love about this site is the helpfulness of the forum members. No question is regarded as too silly too ask and members give advice for free.

I have found that the sellers and buyers who stay in touch on the forums all look out for each other and this makes for a real community site and not just a huge impersonal trading venue.

I have traded (and still do) on many venues but I now have only two sites I trade on that I consider my business home.

Particularly, I would recommend Ebid for buyers looking for unusual items, especially collectables, hand crafted items and jewellery that I have not seen sold elsewhere.

I buy all of my gift items on eBid and would suggest anyone reading this might do the same :)

eBid is a great alternative to Ebay

eBid is newer than Ebay but is growing every day. Sellers are no longer happy with the ever increasing fees on Ebay and are turning to eBid where if you pay the one time life time fee you have nearly all the features of Ebay and a fraction of the cost. 2% FVF is ever so much less that the 10 to 15% charged on Ebay.

Admittedly sales are slower on eBid however, sales have started to pick up and I feel they will only continue to grow as more and more people get the word about eBid

We do not have any threating emails advising that if our DSRs are not brought up we will be kicked off and are kicked off before getting the opportunity to improve service. Go Figure!

On eBid we still have the ability to rate buyers as well as sellers and all is done fairly

All you have to do is visit the eBid forums to see that both buyer and seller are a happier group of people. The forum users are polite and extremely helpful to newbies.

A super place to buy and sell

I've been buying and selling on eBid for nearly four years, and have had a good time doing it. I like the friendly atmosphere, the obvious feeling of "run by the owners" (like a good family-run hotel!) and the fact that smaller scale sellers, and sellers of oddities, collectables, fun bits and pieces are still welcome. I'd recommend it to anybody - and often do! In fact, I created my eBid Widgets brand just to support other sellers on there, so strong is my belief. See you there!

After living through the ebay changes for ten year ebid is great

I found ebid years ago but time was taking up by ebay back in the day when ebay worked so just forgot about it. what a mistake that was, we should have never allowed ebay the power we gave them.

Then found ebid again as ebay started making their changes and can honestly say I was contemplating quitting selling on line after being attacked and battered on ebay.

What a place, ebid worked even better than ebay back when ebay used to work and it was so refreshing that I decided to pay the forty odd pound and stick around.

Not a lot happened at first, as I was still in the ebay mindset of list and hope to get the prices I want, then I began to read through the forums and ebid became selling partners with google and things started to pick up and are still doing so now.

If you tried before and struggled then I would suggest trying again, as the google partnership is working sales just keep increasing on ebid.

LOW FEES HIGH PROFITS

I've been with eBid for 3 years now and I have not looked back. I'm a seller lifetime member running 5 FREE stores paying only 2% Final Value Fees when my item sells (using gallery auction style listings) - that's it, no other fees.

eBid allow YOU to be in control of shipping prices and payment methods and your listings receive FREE exposure worldwide (using your options of countries you are willing to sell and ship to).

eBid allow editing of feedback which is a two way system if and when a transaction changes for the worse or betterment.

Scammers are dealt with swiftly by the eBid management, with the help of it's members.

If you enjoy the challenge of advertising your wares and raking in profits, then eBid is the place to be. If you prefer to list your items and sit back and wait for sales to happen with less profits, then, for exorbitant fees, you can enjoy the eBay experience.

When you join www.ebid.net you will need to clear your mind of the ebay mentality and embrace the eBid way as things are done differently.

eBid have a huge successful campaign running on Facebook plus they have a deal with Google shopping where every single auction listing, with a Buy Now price, receives automatic free exposure.

I'll be with eBid for a long time as it works for me just fine.

As a long time online buyer/seller I find eBid to be very user friendly and member oriented, as opposed to other online sites I've used in years past. I Love Ebid.Net

I have been with ebid for over 2 years now. It was a little slow at first but mostly because of my own mistakes. I went to the forums and studied the help threads. Sales are picking up at quite a fast pace now ok it has taken a little time to get there, but i have never had any problems here at all.
I do strongly recommend this site to all.
A one off payment of £49.99 well worth it. I used to pay ebay more than this a month in listing fee's alone.
I agree it can be a little slow at times but, It normally boils down to what you put in you get out.
Go on give it a chance well worth it.

friendly, helpful and fair priced

Hi, I have found ebid very easy to use, the forums are a wealth of information on selling and the customer support give individual replies, not pre written bumf that evades the question.
The FVF are superb and even the extras on listings are well affordable.
The automatic uploads to Google bring in far more customers than any tv, radio or published adverts.
It might be a bot slow for some who are not willing to adapt, but this is not Ebay and as such sellers and buyers need to realize they need to make changes to their attitudes to get any where, when they do they will reap the benefits out there.

I have a seller plus account which allows me 5 FREE stores - A great way to keep track of your stock and a much 'tidier' way for potential customers to peruse your wares. - I have found a lot of customers coming through to my stores via Google search - Sales on ebid are rising month on month - those reviews that slag ebid off have NOT given it a chance, the will NOT have taken advice from the forums which are very friendly indeed. Check ebid out - hang about - join the forums and then make your own mind up.
