This company stole my items and refused to give them back. They said I agreed to give them for nothing!!! Items were left in to be priced some box sets etc were stolen from my collection others they gave zero price. They said items already in store sleeves so they were store property and I couldn't get them back so £40 was given for around 80 cd's and 40/50 DVDs. They were my sons and they ripped him off . Customer service shite. Worst store I have ever entered stay clear everyone

Stay away from this joke of a company like you would a rabid dog. They are a waste of time and money. For want of a better term they are indeed "THIEVES" . I paid for my product, they sent the wrong one, I returned it prompty and 22 days later the replacement hasn't arrived. There is no direct contact and only automated email responses. Just want a refund or the item I bought. They are so useless its beyond belief how they haven't been on Watchdog yet !!!!!

Traded my near perfect condition Samsung mobile phone online saying they will "honor the agreed price" then they decided to slash £50 from the agreed price saying the phone has a big scratch on the screen.
If I asked for my phone back they will probably send me a damaged one or purposely damaged the phone themselves.
They didn't even reply to my e-mail when I considered legal action (advised by my solicitor friend).
So please avoid using this company in store or online.
Bought a computer from these and it developed a fault after 3 weeks. two weeks on and multiple emails no response for the warranty claim i need to raise. Fast to take my money and horrible non existent CS
My first exp to order SE mobilephone on CEX ONLINE SHOP. But never receive it! CEX staff asks me to wait until they received but now seems to avoid refund. I got invoive but paid nothing. Now, No one knows how can I get back refund
I looked up reviews after no comuications from this company via email. Only 4 of my 14 items totaling £180 had arrived after two weeks. items marked as available are a lie, items marked as despatced are a lie. now waiting for the prereq 28days waiting period to ask for a refund. not looking forward to that
On 12th December 2012 I ordered 12 videogames for approximately £30.
After 5 days 2 of the items arrived but by 12th January nothing more was forthcoming.
I sent a mail to CEX (as they have no telephone number anymore) and waited.
5 days later (17th January) I received a mail saying I have to wait 28 days from order before they will do anything.
I waited another 5 days to match the date of the 2 items were delivered and sent another mail.
On 25th January I received another reply stating:
"Dear Customer,
Thank you for your e-mail.
I've looked into your order, and I can confirm that all parts were dispatched on the 18th of January.
Delivery usually takes 3 to 5 working days, but we must ask that you allow up to 28 days for delivery, as missing items are usually found and delivered within this time.
Regards,
Jean-Luc"
Amazed by this lie I replied asking they refund me for the missing items (£26.50 + Postage) and since then I have sent numerous mails and still have had no further reply, no refunds and no outcome.
SO in short, they stink, avoid them.
What can I say that hasn't been said already.
This weekend I visited the store to sell my PS3, Wii & roughly 45 games. I told the lady at the counter that the PS3 had been upgraded from the stock 49gb hard drive to a 250gb hard drive.
The lady seemed confused by this & consulted her manager, the lady the came back and informed me that she could not take the PS3 as it had been illegally modified (the hard disk upgrade procedure is written in the manual). She then informed me that she couldn't take the Wii either as they wouldn't be able to tell if that too had been illegally "tampered" with.
Although this infuriated me I did trade my games & bought a 2nd hand Wii U (without game), the lady checked the contents of the box when I asked her & confirmed that the box contained all of its items
When I got the system home I found that it was a brand new system, but it was lacking the pro controller (which the lady said was in the box)
I visited the store the next day and asked about this and I was told that they buy new systems in, remove the controller & game & then sell it separately.
I asked them why I wasn't informed of this at time of purchase as in my eyes an integral part of the system is missing. The manager said he was happy for me to return it; however, he would only give me store credit . This meant that I could either buy another Wii U from their store (minus the game & controller) or I could buy something else from the store. This means that I cannot use my money to purchase a Wii U from anywhere else
I am currently going though the complaints procedure and I am emailing them daily asking for an update... Hopefully I'll get a response soon
This was supposedly an easy transaction buy some wireless buzzers get them use them. Unfortunately turned into the worst experience ever.
Parcel turned up and found that a set of wired buzzers costing one pound had been chucked in a jiffy bag and sent out not the twenty one pound set that should have been sent even although it clearly had it on the invoice. Emailed CEX within ten minutes of opening the package on the 16th Jan and received a reply on the 31st Jan which is ridiculous for a company of this size. As other reviewers on here have said I think it's best that they just close up the online section totally as they can't be bothered to give it the time and attention that this needs. Luckily I paid by Paypal and now I am awaiting a refund through their resolution centre.
AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE
Their second hand electronic products are extremely overpriced. They would not give refund when phone was returned to their store two days after purchase. Do not purchase presents from here (as you cannot get a refund) and don't buy any electronics here unless you have thoroughly researched how much they should actually cost!!!
Well just to summarize as I could go on for ever,
1, NO actual contact number and I have tried all sources to get hold of one.
2, Emails been ignored
3, Nearly a month after sending the product back (Still had no emails)
4, I Purchased the product online but took it back to the shop and they said there was nothing they could do only send the product back for me which I did.
Now no contact from wecare (Must be a joke name) and cannot even contact the local shops as they don't have a phone number either this is a pure joke company all those that have had a good response from this company you are very very lucky I have sent emails and even faxes but to no avail. Please I say to anyone thinking of buying online DON'T use the high street shop!!!!
Recently I purchased a 7200RPM 500GB SATAII Hard Drive from the CeX online store. The checkout went smoothly, and my order was despatched the next day.
When the item arrived, to my delight the packaging was exceptional! A (folded over) jiffy bag, followed by two layers of bubble wrap and two paper bags would ensure that any hard drive would survive the punishment of Royal Mail.
When the hard drive was revealed, I was astounded to find out that it was a Segate hard drive (In my opinion the best brand). But, on inspection, I found out that this particular hard drive had only an RPM of 5900 (As it was an energy saving model) I let this slide, because of the cheap price and hooked it up to my PC. No bad sectors, and it was a VERY quick drive in benchmarks.
All in all, a brilliant experience. Just a shame it wasn't what was advertised on the website.
Bought a mobile in "MINT" condition for £130. According to their website, the term "Mint" condition means "just like new".
Took it out the box and it wouldn't switch on or even charge. No lie. After taking the battery out and back in again, it then began to charge, but guess what... it started switching itself on and off every 30 seconds or so. Then, off the charger, it would totally shut down and the only way of getting it back on again was to remove the battery and put it back in. COMPLETELY USELESS!! And to think I bought this on the belief it was MINT CONDITION!!!
Now the even better bit.... I emailed them and they told me to return it, which I did Special Delivery back in December. But since then I've had no contact and still no refund!!! And they are ignoring my emails!!!
whether it's webuy.com or cex.co.uk that fronts this "business" is of no real matter. avoid both. i have no further time to waste on these clowns other than to state this.

Sent a box full of assorted games & dvd's to webuy on 12th June 2012 & 4 months on I still haven't recieved or heard anything from them.I've sent them at least 10 emails including 2 to their complaints department & have had 0 in return I even asked if they could just tell me if they even recieved the box.A simple yes or no wouldn't take 2 shakes of a dogs B****x,but even that it seems is to much for them.I went into my local CeX store to see if they could chase it up or give me a phone number, but to my surprise I was told that they & webuy are two different companies & they don't really have any contact with them(how true this is I don't know),but after some searching on his computer all he could come up with was the wecare(do they feck)@webuy.com email address. It's not that i've lost any money as such really,it's the total lack of responce,info,2 bob set up(ask ur ma or pa if u don't know what that is).So i've decided to take a drive down from M.K. t Watford just to see if the postal address exists or if it's just one big skip.So if you want to sell your stuff, you're better of taking it into a CeX store, that's of course if you want some pennies for them & not just get rid of them to some Mickey Mouse company!! (Is there any way of suing them for false advertising? wecare??? webuy??? dot??? com??? Lol)
Long story short.
They made what should have been a simple exchange nearly a month LONG and STILL NO REFUND OR EXCHANGE!.In this time They've made no real decent answer
CEX ONLINE GIVE UP, YOUR ONLINE STORE IS A MESS AND YOUR WASTING WHAT WERE VALUABLE CUSTOMERS TIME AND MONEY.
Something to think about to people who are thinking of buying from CEX
DO YOU WANT TO BUY FROM A COMPANY THAT HAS NO TELEPHONE NUMBER. SOUNDS TRVIAL BUT THEY HAD ME OVER EMAIL BEATING AROUND THE BUSH FOR AGES WITH NO STRAIGHT ANWERS SOMETIMES NOT REPLYING FOR UP TO 3 DAYS. Bear in mind if you ever have to retern anything Its gotta be done within the week.
If a large company doesnt want you to be able to contact them there a problem. No everyone can use email due to disability / condition
Cex have withdrawn peoples right to speak to someone and get the anwers.
If i had known this i wouldnt have spent a damn penny god knows have theyve made it this far
I placed an order on Sunday to CEX (uk.webuy.com) and paid via Paypal. CEX website didn't ask for my address and instead, took an address from paypal, but not my current address, no no, they decided instead to take the address we registered with years ago. I immediately tried to call them but THEY HAVE NO PHONE NUMBER and are only contactable my email!! I immediately emailed them, in fact, before close of business on Sunday I had emailed them 5 times.
On Monday I finally got a reply, it basically said "tough shit" we can only deliver to the address we got from paypal and we already posted it. Someone else is about to receive £85 worth of goods that I've paid for and they posted it AFTER I already told them that they had the wrong address.
Edit: should also mention that I had been a loyal customer with CEX since their Leeds store opened back in 1999 or thereabouts, spent thousands there and had good and bad experiences, but no longer of course and they have got much much worse over the years.
I sent them my mobile phone, in the envelope they sent to me on 20th March. It is now 10th April and I have not been paid for the phone or had it returned to me. When asked where my money was, they said they hadn't received it despite the courier confirming it was received on 23rd March. TOTAL CON.

Last year, I ordered the UK Version of the HV40 from Cex Online, and was send the US Version.
Returning was a nightmare, there is no customer care number and email customer care representatives do not understand your questions. They take 'days' to reply. Once they do reply, its complete nonsense.
Last week, I again ordered 'stupidly' the HV40 UK Version. Again I was sent the US Version in poor, disgusting packaging. No Charger, No Accessories. Just the camera with a dead battery so I could not even turn it on. The US Version has a different name to that advertised on the website and does not work in the UK.
I have also ordered a Samsung NX Camera and Lens, and the money was debited from my account and was informed that the Camera has been despatched by Special Delivery.
Nothing has arrived in 4 days. I have been given no information and no tracking number. Cex say they only debit your money once the item has been despatched, but the money was taken immediately, I received a despatch notification but I know that the camera has not yet been sent and there is no way to chase it up.
Cex treat customers like horse manure, AVOID buying from them at all costs and report them to WatchDog and Office Of Fair Trading.
They continually deliver extremely 'Low Service' and we as customers, allow them too.

Had a bad experience with a staff member in the store at Walthamstow staff member refused to serve me, tried to address matter with manager he initialy said he would sort the matter out.
However because another member of staff whom claim to have witnessed the incident lied about what actually happened it was put across that I was rude.
when in fact I had been calm and it was the member of staff that had got irate with me.
The whole shop then got on the band wagon in support of their colleague and refused to serve me. when I tried to ask why they called a security guard to escort me out of the shop.
I was calm throughout the incident and CCTV will prove it however I do admit stating to the manager that I felt he was acting like a p...........sy when security arrived as I felt he was out of order and by that point I was fed up as I had tried to resolve the matter with him but he didn't listen I was wrong for this and I put my hand up to it in this review however I did no wrong up to this point to warrant the treatment I got from the staff members at Walthamstow they were bang out of order considering I had spent money there before even though they had tried to sell me a faulty phone two weeks earlier.
This was a case of their word against mine however I can vouch on m
y own life that this matter could have been managed better by the staff member involved and the Manager.
I
There was a complete lack of communication. Did not let me know they had received it. I checked online and they said a bit of plastic was missing from the silent switch. But they didn't bother to offer me a lower price even though the phone worked well. The bit of missing plastic did not effect the silent switch at all.
They took a week to even look at my phone. What a waste of time and money.
Do not sell to this company.
There are two reasons to avoid this store:
1. Most items are faulty.
2. When something is good, employees buy it for themselves
You should buy only in person and only if you really know your onions. Every DSLR lesn I have inspected in store was faulty -and trust me, I know how to tell a good from a bad copy.
When they have something good, they keep it for themselves. I went to buy a battery grip for my D7000. When I got to the store the grip was in stock but the employee told me that he was going to buy it once they close the store (they cannot buy items during working hours)
So there you go. 95% sure that what you buy is a lemmon. Don't be fooled buy low prices.

my son had a pile of games to sell but only wanted cash - he went round all shops in town to get best price - cex seemed to be the best offer at £60 - however - in the end we found out that was for a credit note - my son told assistant that he only wanted cash and being new at selling games didnt really understand how the system worked, so he relied on the assistant for help, he came home with a credit note for £60 and told me that if he went back with id the next day and proof that he was 16 then they exchange for cash. i went back with him the next day and found this is entirely wrong and there is no way they would give money back, i feel they took my sons games under false pretences as things were not explained properly to him, he had asked for help and told assistant that he only wanted cash - she just confused him and took his games knowing that he didnt want a credit note, i think it was obvious that my son was new at this and also obvious that he did not want a credit note - however the assistant was too busy to help properly and apparently had a queue, i have written to head office four times explaining that he was mislead but have had no reply - they are so unhelpful in the shop but even more ignorant at head office,
Rushing website, takes weeks for a reply from customer service, items were missing still waiting for a reply for them.
Stay away not worth the hassle
Ordered a £5 game about maybe 2 month ago. Arrived in just a couple of days I thought great! Opened the envelope, went to play the game...
... wrong disk was in the case...
...I emailed them, they said send it back for a refund or proper disk sent out... sent it, online tracking says that it has been signed for, but after a number of emails I haven't had any reply.
Needless to say, I won't be buying from CEX again online, or in the store. Why should I spend my money to pay for idiots who work within the company.
The only good thing with CEX is the fact that you can take games into Gamestation to trade in & they will beat CEX prices!
firstly let me say this isn't about the mostly excellent retail stores this is about their online service.
short story 1..
ordered a load of dvd's after a week they cancelled the entire order order, i emailed them and was told that it shouldn't have happened so i reordered everything except the 1 item that had sold out, a week later they cancelled the entire order again so i ordered every item separately (except one more that had gone out of stock) each item was sent but this time one order contained 2 items due to min order prices but one had gone out of stock and yet they still sent the in stock item, when the items arrived one of them (a boxed set) contained only half of the seasons tv episodes despite the half season set being advertised for half the price (battlestar galactica season 4 boxset £10, battlestar galactica season 4.0 boxset £5).
short story 2...
their "contact us" is a joke, over the last few months i've sent 5 emails on varying subjects, they only bothered to reply to 2 of them, both replies contained inaccurate information.
for your own sanity just use the stores, at least until they work out what customer service is and how to run an online operation.
since this will go to cex...
604029 cancelled (only 1 item had gone out of stock)
606209 cancelled (only 1 item had gone out of stock)
612271 cancelled (has been in stock for a month or more, never below 4 units)
612273 ordered full season boxset, received half season boxset advertised at half the price of the full season.

wide range of electrical items a range of used and new items good service reliable they test all your items , too make sure they work sometimes use this service would recommend if u want cheaper items good website as well with item selection and how much they sell and buy for and emailing available for feedback and q&a etc all in all a good site
Bought a mobile phone from here, it didn't work properly and I couldn't make or take calls - so I returned it, only to be told they wouldn't refund it, but I could sell it back to them for much less than the purchase price, which I declined. Why should they make more money from me when I've already paid for the phone. Sad to say the phone got binned and my money went down the drain.
Bought wireless xbox headset from them in Aug 09. Month later it died so i contacted them and they told me to post it to them and then they would give me my £15 back. Been over a year now and still have not got my money back. Emailed them over 5 times over the last year and never got a response back. My advice is dont buy anything electrical online else if it breaks you wont get your money back. And you would have to pay for postage :)
i have ordered several times from this site and while i can't fault the prices, i don't like the fact they will buy things as f grade and sell them on as a or b !!!! Also they maintain they normally send items the same day... That has never happened to me infact i am currently waiting for some dvds that have been in the ' stock pickingin progress' stage for 3 days. I didn't experience problems like one reviewer thoughwho didn't receive accessories with a phone,i did, but here is a company that definitely does lack in a few areas.
Rubbish customer service. 2 Orders, and one of them send wrong items. 2nd order send me the phone without accessories, not as described. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. TOTAL NIGHTMARE!!!
I bought a 60GB hardrive from CEX and found i didnt need it. I went to get my money back and they gave me a Credit note. Why would i want to shop there again anyway. WHY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bought some games, after 3 weeks of receiving the "your order is dispatched" email nothing had come.
Sent them an email and got a reply saying wait 28days before complaining...
Now its been about 40 days and I have had no further email response even though I have tried twice to contact them and still have no games.
I'm not letting it go, they can't get away with it, but I will NEVER use this store again after this apalling experience.
I use CEX often and have little problem with their service. There have been hiccups but generally they are reasonable, though there is a glaring disparity between the trade in value of the item you exchange and the vast amount of profit they make on it. Still they are convenient and have a lot of stock to choose from; a lot of which isn't available in other stores, for example older game cube and x box stuff that is harder to find these days, that other shops don't stock.
i ordered a phone through the online service, seemed reasonable enough for a second hand mint condition phone. i recieved an email telling me that it had been dispatched along with another email telling me that a second phone had been dispatched costing me £120, a phone which i didnt order i thought it was a computer error and that the money would stay in my bank but they have tanken it out without verifiying the orders, luckily enough i did not desperately need to pay bills with the money, but the fact they charge you for items you didnt order then make you pay for postage to send it back to them is ridicuous. further more their next day delivery is a joke waited around a week for the phones to arrive. the service does deserve 1 star less if possible as it is fraudulent and they act like ignorance is bliss. awful awful online service would never encourage anybody to buy online. although it seems that the in-store service isnt muc better, AVOID AT ALL COSTS
I bought phone from them coasted me £450; after 2 weeks the mobile become blocked I called orange they told me this mobile reported stolen. I went to the shop to tell them about what happened they were extremely rude and they refused to give me my money back only on voucher , how can I trust buying from them any item again with voucher or without .
I tried to contact the head office but no phone number so only email and they don’t respond to emails and when they responded they simply said to take the voucher. Now I contacted the trading standard and the law centre. They deal with them. This is the worst experience I ever ever had so be aware and avoid this company
I have been trying to sell a second-hand laptop PC through the Bromley branch of CEX for nearly two weeks now. I left the PC for testing as requested; when I returned to the store it had not been tested as "the tester found a password on it". There was no password on the machine - I demonstrated this to the store assistant.
CEX do not take customer contact details, and will not give out store phone numbers - because of this I had no way to check that my laptop had been tested, and wasted two hours and the cost of a train ticket on a pointless journey. If CEX had taken my phone number they could have called to discuss the "password issue".
This is abysmal 'customer service'.
I'd give them one star except that this is reserved for fraud and not just incompetence.
