I ordered a Dyson DC31 Animal and paid by Credit card. Next was told "We are unable to process your card details due to technical issues at our end". Then "However we would like to still process your order via alternative payment methods of either a cheque or bank transfer we have given you a further £5 discount inclusive of VAT because of the problem if you wish to still proceed with your order".
This is then up to you if you pay. But it seemed that it was all good so done this.
They then do not send you anything at all. You can not talk to them on their phone and you will not get a refund.
SO WATCH OUT DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY AT ALL.
They do not care about anyone reporting them, as there is not much we as the consumer can do to them. There is no where we can go as Trading Standards do not deal with the individual person anymore. Contact BBC Watchdog with your story, as they are collecting info on this company. They have my story and want more of them.
Check out Martin Lewis Money Saving Expert website. You will find dozens of disgruntled cuctomers who have been duped. You will be asked to pay by bank transfer and when you have done so, you will receive NOTHING!
Be warned. Remember, if it looks too good to be true..........
5 weeks after paying for my 'Dyson Animal' by bank transfer, I have received neither the goods nor any reply to either emails to Utopia or to any phone messages left.

I was wary when I received a request to pay by cheque instead of my CC but my partner had just had a stroke and I didn't have time to scan the net again or anyone to discuss it with. Three weeks later, over Xmas, I stumbled on a review site with everyone saying it was a scam. I mentally kicked myself and cancelled my credit card then got a couple of emails after Xmas-finally Fedex tracking number which didn't work. Suddenly a Fedex van arrived today and lo-my Dyson animal 31. It has been quite stressful and if they are kosher there is no need to put people through this.
The company cannot be trusted to deal with a business transaction
Watch out for the flowery email when you order saying that their Credit Card system is not working. They then offer a small discount and give alternative methods of paying (e.g. bank transfer) and then your hear nothing.
Avoid at all costs and make sure you tell others to do the same.
I had similar email saying CC did not go through and were asking for a bank transfer or a cheque payment. They also ask cheque to be sent to a PO BOX and not their office address.
Do not go for this lame excuse check with your CC company first if there is any problem. Insist to pay by CC. You are protected if you pay by CC but bank transfer can never be recovered.
Best option is pay £10 extra and avoid losing everything
Utopia is offering the Dyson DC31 Animal was 109.99 with free delivery, but now 99.99 which is now some £20 cheaper than the nearest discounted price. They are also investing in Google to get a priority listing (as "dy.son") so if you serach for "DC31" they come out as one of the top 3 listings.
You order in the normal way, submit CC details and it goes through. You receive a confirmation as paid.
Later, and many if not all, then receive an email from Utopia saying they have a problem with their CC payment system, if you'd like a further £10 discount, please pay by bank transfer. Any further correspondence is not replied to, even when I offered to pay via COD. According to Money Saving Expert this CC problem has been going on for over 2 months; however to Utopia's credit there are cases, of people saying they paid by bank transfer and received the goods (but many if not all are first time novices).
Something here doesn't stack up. If you go for price, I suggest most would not accept the risk, unless you don't understand the difference in the risk profile between CC and bank transfers (I note that now the price is under £100, some credit card companies would not cough-up even if one runs into problems and if CC were eventually accepted by Utopia).
