Was a little disapointed in the past with cex- sometimes goods arrived that were rather suspect (dvds that came from magazines for example- or dvds that were written on in marker pen or that had the discs missing or had discs that wouldn't play) And usually a few discs ordered didn't arrive- I wasn't charged for the missing discs, but I wasn't given a discount on the postage price, which I thought was unfair in that respect..
But the last few orders have been fantastic, almost since the website change, and the dvds have been in at least very good, but mostly excellent condition, and ALL have arrived much faster. Very impressed with the improvements made, the website is much better, there is clearly a real effort being made to improve the site massively. Overall, would recommend strongly to anyone looking for some dvds for personal use, who doesn't want to pay a huge sum for a used dvd.. especially heavy users.. some dvds are as little as 5p, which is frankly amazing. 5/5 without question.

I ordered a £330 tablet on line via the CEX/webuy website because the LTE version wasn't available at my local store. £2.50 postage which was great value and it was delivered within 3 working days, marvelous.
Too good to be true. Yes it was.
After the first day I got my SIM only to find the SIM tray completely pushed in and damaged. I took it to my local store but they could not get the tray out and said email on line via the contact page. I have, twice but nothing, zip!
I want to take it to my local store, get my refund and even purchase the same make and model from their Web site. This was supposed to be a birthday surprise present for Saturday but I guess that isn't going to happen.
I hope someone from CEX can see this post and help me out with my dilemma.
We decided to upgrade our PC's and needed a fairly large amount of RAM. Due to the prices of RAM and having to maintain cost efficiency we decided to purchase the goods through CEX's online store. The delivery time was fairly reasonable bar the delivery of one item which took 7 days to reach us.
The RAM had to be sent back due to it all being faulty. Probably down to the way it was packaged and sent out, in soft plastic DVD covers in a thinly packed bubblewrap bag, Not really surprising it was received faulty.
Sent it back by Next Day Delivery by 1pm that was received but no response to confirm receipt was sent out for until three days alter nor has a voucher for refund been sent out to this day. Continuous emails to the company and Facebook Messages have had no luck, being given the same generic emails of being processed at the highest priority and will be processed soon. This was sent back on the 23rd November, it is now the 11th December. We are unable to use two P.C's at this time because the voucher has not been emailed out to us meaning we still are unable to repurchase the items from one of CEX's physical stores.
Never using the online part again: -
A) No telephone number to speak to someone directly
B) Emails and Facebook are responded to from India, how are they able to know when these orders are processed and carried out when they are +5hrs 30minutes.
C) Comes across as a giant scam business
D) Going into a store and them being unable to carry out anything further as they do not even have a number to call themselves, individuals running a franchise, this could really affect them also. They also receive the same generic emails we do.
i have bought multiple times of CeX and i would definitely recommend to others.
I have had no problems with the time things have taken to be sent, the longest i have had to wait was 5 days.

Was very satisfied with trading in my PS3 & a load of other games and accessories. I got what I expected (£279), which was the figure quoted on the website. Taking the printout of all your items seems to help them as a checklist if you take a lot of stuff. I was hesitant about trading in, given the mixed reviews, but the only minor issues were the queueing and time it took to get through my stuff (although I did have a lot) and the small shop/service desks (Hull - Prospect Centre). I'd recommend trading in with CEX because I'm sure you'll get a better price than say Game and it was really easy, the money was paid into my bank account the following day by about 4pm I think it was, so I was very happy :)
when i got mail from you strait away i decide to wrie feedback. Im with CEX from 6years but on my name Kamil Malkowski from 15monts. Im very satisfied. Good price when i but and good when i sell or exchange. And you have no competition from GAME or HMV or whatevere. Tey just suck. My top priority is consoles gaming mobile phones and im really happy. Betwen 1to10 i give strong 8.5 Why not 10??? Stuff. some people working in some of your shop ate just rasist and nasty. Like in Lndon on tottenham court rd. one asia (look like china) i thing he is shift menager. Wery nasty and rude guy. But CEX I LOVE AND KEEP IT UP GUYS!!!!
Second internet order, I had my local CEX call the store I was ordering my item from. This communication with the store allowed me to identify that the product I was interested in 'was as I wanted, complete and in excellent condition. Before ordering the CEX store confirmed that they would ensure product was put aside for me and carefully packed. I processed the order straight away, using my phone. The item arrived two days later, nicely packed with bubble wrap in a large hard cardboard box. Item was in mint condition as I had been informed before on the phone. I have heard many horror stories when ordering on line with CEX, but there are also stories with happy endings. Although, note I have now sent off a CEX exchange voucher for the sum of the product, again I've heard many horror stories, but that's hope this is another happy ending. In which case, I'll only be pleased to write another review.
Ordered PS3 Playtv. It arrived promptly but unfortunately could not use as they did not include the installation disk.This product can not be used with out the disk.Contacted customer service explaining problem they told me I would have to buy disk.At this point I said I would return product as not as advertised & and could not use.I also started a dispute with PayPal.CEX refused a refund.I returned Item but they did not replay to any of my emails.They told PayPal they did not receive return !!!!
They later sent me Email saying they could not refund me unless I closed dispute on PayPal. I sent copy of email to PayPal who with 5 hours rewarded me with a full refund.
So beware if you have a problem with this company. You to can experience the worst customer service on the net !!!
HI everyone been coming here for a while now its a great place to buy and sell its handy to pop into the shop for buying or selling and i would say they give you a fair price for things you dont want keep anymore, i have also bought some dvds here myself and got some good bargains. keep it up cex
I placed an order to realise 5 minutes later that the shipping address was wrong. Being no facility to cancel, just send a message via a contact page, I did this immediately (saying I wished to change address or cancel). However, a few days later I was told that the items had now been dispatched to the wrong place, as messages take a few days to pick up, which is my problem. I have tried to get them to resolve, but they have failed to reply, saying we ship to the default paypal address only (which is of course ludicrous when others such as eBay or amazon have no such problem). Very annoyed!
They give u things which are not working and when you get back to them they tell u would have done something wrong with it.Got three times playstation 3 every time have something new problem in it.Paid parking for all the rounds again again come back checking and all the mistake is placed on us as we are stupid and dont know how to handle electronic products....Really disappointed
I am truly obsessed with cex, it 100% has the cheapest dvds on the internet without a doubt. I love everything about this company and I review the website gloriously to people every day, so this is my chance to do it more formally. Amazing company, and will have my custom for years to come.
I love using CeX. They often have decent prices and I haven't had problems with used goods that I've received from them. Tthey have a 12 month warranty on everything which is really generous when you consider that if you buy used goods from other places they often give you only 3 months warranty. They generally run a great service. The only times I had a slight issue with CeX is when redeeming a CeX voucher against a purchase I've made. It can sometimes take a while for them to sort it out and you have to case them up a few times but they seem to get there in the end.
A good experience choosing and ordering the phone as it was not available in the local shop - just one problem. I ordered a mobile for my 16year old son, it arrived speedy quick, I opened the box and it was coloured ROMANTIC PINK!! Unfortunately despite the generic picture on the website stating black or even having any other bland colour, pink made it totally out of the ball park! The only time I have had a not so top rate experience. I have sent it back and am waiting my refund or watch this space..........
Ordered a Bose speaker for my dad's birthday and took weeks to arrive even though the item was apparently in stock?! Quick to take my payment immediately though! Had to give dad my own speaker as his birthday present. Emails to CEX ARE IGNORED AND NOT REPLIED TO???!!!!! After finally getting a reply my speaker turned up, dinged, scratched and charger broken. Not even a Bose charger, some broken altek Lansing chucked into a loosely wrapped Jiffy bag along with speaker!!! Have emailed my complaint nearly a week ago, along with photos of damage. As yet, STILL NO RESPONSE???!!! I will never, ever, use this retailer again. BUYERS ***** PLEASE BEWARE****** ALSO NO CONTACT PHONE NUMBER AVAILABLE FOR THIS COMPANY, only emails. A rather disgusted, aggravated customer. Appalling service, will never use again!!!
Cex is amazing, the staff members do their job but treat you with respect, come down to our level. None of this lying to the customer nosense in order to hurry up the sale.
They are honest and very informative which gives you a sense of trust that your being given the right product that suits your needs.
I visit the shop in edinburgh every day, i know all the staff and the staff know me very well.
Cex is great for value, however there is room for improvement.
The shop needs to be more visible, every shop should be based on high streets. Some big gamers that i know havent even heard of cex which is because your shop in edinburgh is very hidden. A bit more marketing is needed.
Delivery service is terrible i have to admit.
My laptop took 3 weeks longer than it should. And an xbox one coming from falkirk to edinburgh took a week to come through after getting quoted about next day delivery. I dont blame the shop or its staff. I blame who ever handles the strategy for postage and packaging within the company.
Lastly the website was a major improvement, congrats. However, one day i was tallying up what i was about to buy and trade in. The next day i took it in after checking the website. And the prices had all changed, which was a bit frustrating but a little heads up would have been nice. Even a little banner on website to say price change and a list of products affected. Plus alot of stock on your website is out of stock when it clearly states in stock.
At the end of the day, its the overall experience that brings you back time and time again. This shop has unstoppable potential and will become a vast empire soon. Honest staff and fast service and great value for money are all the things we are looking for in a good company - cex has all this :)
I have used CEX for several years & have found my experience very good.
Polite & friendly staff, outstanding trade-in prices & a wide selection of products make CEX my ' Go To' game & DVD store.
I ordered an laptop dock from CEX online the otherday and when it Came I was shocked to find it was not in a box and was only just wrapped in around 1 layer of bubble rap and thats with a power supply stuck on top of the laptop dock, which is a screen and keyboard combo for the motorola atrix.
This seems like it was a way to keep postage down.
And to be honest I dont think the condition was as what they claimed but thats just me.
Bought an ipad .Cex sent an iPhone charger out with it , that's bad quality checks! , now they want me to send everything back. So they can replace the charger with an ipad charger! This will cost P&P and its too close to Christmas and it will be cheaper for me to source one from Amazon .
I will not use there website again.
ive sold about 5 of my phones to cex , i get bored so change my phones regular and cex give you a damm good price for your phone . would recommend cex to anyone because you know your not getting ripped off , they test all phones and the service is quick and hassle free .....thanks cex
I went in aiming to arm myself with the lowest price for an iPhone 4S, I was shocked when the price CEX offered actually beat the competition! And it wasn't just by a few pounds either!
Phones 4u offered £145
O2 offered £130
CEX game me £195!
Should have been more but a hairline scratch on screen reduced the grading to a C, couldn't even see the scratch unless you looked closely :(
cex is the shop i mostly use for games and dvds, the quality is always good and the staff are always alwaysc friendly, the trade in value is best on the high street and is never beaten.
I recommend CEX to everyone there quick and very reasonable in price when selling unwanted items. I have sold many items from ipads, ipods to mobile phones and I have always been offered a reasonable price.
Went again to CEX a few days ago. My wife was complaining about the number of DVDs in the house. "No worries" I said "I'll take them to CEX"
"You know the saying "3 steps forward, 2 steps back?" Go to CEX with 3 DVDs and bring 2 back!! And normally have change from a tenner.
And this visit? No queue! What bliss!
Personal experience of 2 years trading with them.
I find an item on line that I wanted to buy listed as in stock in Plymouth but I wanted to collect from the store but I wasn't able to reserve on line and couldn't contact the store this was frustrating.
In store, the staff were very knowledgeable, helpful, fast and friendly. As I was selling as well as buying, I had to return several times and found the only negative point being the long wait in the queue, even though you had a lot of staff who worked efficiently.
Yes I will use CeX again and recommend you.
