Well I ordered an item, and the next day the money was taken out of my account, that was not a problem, but communicating with the company was the worst experience that I have ever encountered. You almost had to email daily before you got any kind of response, and even that was not a satisfactory one. There was no way that I could telephone and talk directly to a person, as no telephone numbers were given, as was no way of getting to complain to their Head Office. Shame because all the experiences I have had in the shops have been good, but will think twice before using their online service again. Not going to say anything more, because so far the item has still not arrived, they say it dispatched, but will wait and see
found that having to wait 2days for a reply to an email isn't acceptable especially when you want the problem sorted as soon as possible its very delayed. i feel like this due to purchasing an item nearly a month ago now Ive returned the item for an exchange as you sent one for an Xbox when i requested one for a ps3 and I'm currently still waiting for my item to be returned have sent emails asking what is happening and had to wait 2days for the reply of we have received your item and its currently being processed i have not been made aware of when I'm going to receive my item this i found very unhelpful as the item was purchased for my sons birthday which was the 13th November and he has now had to wait nearly a month for his present. this email issue needs to be addressed asap and a contact number needs to be addressed as this would be a lot more helpful when it comes to problems.
Received a worthless Pentium 4 instead of the CPU I ordered, sent it back to them, they have had it since the 22nd November (it's now the 6th December!) and I have heard NOTHING since, I would NEVER order from them again, their customer service is appalling.
Poor packaging and customer service, items arrived in several deliveries in different packaging several days apart of each other. Damaged cases due to poor packaging asked for replacements was told this would not happen and if I did not wish to keep them to return them at my cost. Very poor will not use this company again and will advise others not to online either.
I'm too lazy to write a decent review, but I didn't expect the delivery to be as quick as it was, their was only one issue I had, and that was I didn't get given a tracking number, so I never knew when to stay in or not. For second hand games, not one of the 9 games I ordered had a single scratch on them, it was like they was brand new!
Got charged for wireless microphones got delivered wired ones. Emailed about it and a week later got told to return it at my cost (which would be refunded by cheque) and if I was correct they would refund me. The previous delivery had an essential cable missing. I think I will stick to buying in store.

Generally good, the prices are excellent & staff in stores tend to be very friendly & helpful. However, when ordering online I have had a number of items that have arrived with either missing bonus discs, the wrong cases (DVD's in PS3 game cases, for example) or with photocopied covers.
Since I have first hand experience that no CEX store seems willing to buy or trade items in such condition I don't understand how they can justify selling them that way. Especially without advance notification. These occurrences have been in the minority, but repeated & often enough to sully my opinion of the company.
Twice I purchased the same item in a matter of weeks, paid and had my confirmation email, only to be emailed again a few days later to say the product was "out of stock" and my order had been cancelled, despite the website informing me that the product was infact in stock. Will not be using the website again.
I have been using Cex for many years and have made many purchases all great value BUT there is one massive flaw;
On at least 9 occasions I have ordered multiple items (always music cd's) and at least one is not available after being advertised on the web page as available. To make matters worse the item is still for sale on the website many days after informing me. Totally unacceptable and the only reason I come back for more is the trully great value on offer
I ordered three items and only two arrived.
It took three days to get a response and they just said I had to wait 28 days.
I now have to wait until Christmas Eve to contact them for part of a child's Christmas present.
I will never use them again. Deradful customer service
Ordered 2 kindle cases in 2 different colours. One case was genuine amazon as per picture and description but other case can only be described as generic poundland style case. Customer support very rudely replied picture is only an example even though this is NOT stated on website. Very much buyer beware when ordering online. Not my first order but will be my last.
Hi there i bought 2 second hand led tvs because i couldnt afford to buy new ones. The delivery and the way they were packed was very good. When i unwraped one tv the screen was pushed in on one corner due to there being a crack in the plastic which holds the screen in place. The second tv had a remote control with no back on it and it also did not work. I could not send these back as they are xmass presents so had fix the problems myself with cellotape which wont last. I also had to buy a universal remote control. There should be a contact number to call as it feels very inpersonel communicating by e-mail. So my experience was very bad and i also ended up more out of pocket after trying to save money in the first place. so in my experience will be to never use again. Kind regards George
For a blend of Value For Money and Great service there are not many better than CEX. I am a regular customer and will continue to be!
My above order arrived today except the item that turned up was not to the specification listed above. The iPod was rattling in the box it came in because the holder had not been provided with the box. The wire that was supplied was not an official apple product but a cheap alternative. There are no headphones included. The box lists an iPods nano, but for a 2gb silver iPod nano! This is meant to be an A grade product and therefore considered to be mint with all box contents included.
To top it all, the iPod nano isn't even the 16gb I have purchased but is actually an 8gb version. The only thing that is correct is the colour!
Quite frankly I'm appalled. Now cex want me to return it and said they will see whether it qualifies for a refund or exchange! The cheeky gits! I bloody well expect a full refund and compensation!!
The DVD it's self was in good condition but the cover was in a disgraceful state considering the DVD was released less than six months ago aside from that the website is fairly easy to use and the delivery was excellent very fast and well packaged
Very happy to receive my games though the post which i ordered online but after opening the packaging i found most to be dirty,scratched to hell and one game with dried food stuck to the case and game.
Not very happy but what can one do.
I found website easy to use. Was slightly optimistic about the condition of the product I orded as it was used but was extremely pleased and it only took a couple of days. Would definitely recommend to a friend.
I liked that they still accept old PS2 games and will offer store credit,
however obtaining it is more trouble than it's worth online as you have to use
snail mail to send the voucher code and the order code you want reimbursed.
I recommend buying from them and trading goods instore has never been an issue, the staff are very friendly and products reasonably priced.
Unfortunetly cex stores are rare now so online is rapidly becoming
their only outlet.
An online system for trading would be far more useful and I still don't know if my
order was reimbursed with my voucher.
I would say really the store is really good but the online trading system is pretty bad,
which is a shame as it's nicely designed and not hard to navigate.
Ordered a game for my son for Xmas . Difficult to get hold of so tried CEX. Luckily 1 in stock. Ordered at about 2pm and paid £2 for the Bromley branch to post it to me. Arrived very promptly the following day. Very happy customer and hopefully a very happy 10 yr old!!!
Very dissapointed order was sent out wrong and had to return it had a very upset child on there birthday because of there error and when emailed took ages to reply as to where to send item back and am still awaiting for the replacement to arrive am hoping it will be the correct game this time as I refuse to foot the cost of returning it again although if I sent proof of postage cost they would have refunded it when they got it but it had to be sent in with the item which had to be sealed up to post very unimpressed with the service and attitude cos it was wrong when asked when I can expect the replacement I was told they had lots of returns so at there earliest ??? So still waiting to hear there seems to be a lack of customer care with this company do not know if I will use the web again might stick to the local stores
Product arrived on time and perfect conditions.
I ordered a charge and play set for my son's xbox 360. I did not know that CEX have the picture of an official one on the unofficial item and since there is no item description I purchased this to find it was nothing like the picture and was not compatible with the other items i ordered. I contacted CEX but was told the website pictures are not necessarily of the actual item so it was my fault. The item has since been returned for an exchange but i am still waiting for the correct item and still waiting for the refund for the credit note of £12 I sent in to them. Too much hassle to be honest. If it wasn't for the credit voucher I had from selling them something I could have got it cheaper on ebay with none of these issues.
