We were given your details by some friends of ours that had bought a swing set and they were very pleased. Service was excellent, ordered on the saturday and it arrived on the tuesday, even though there was one item short they soon sorted that out! So lovely to have a friendly and helpful voice on the other end of the phone.

There can't be a better company for garden toys
Fantastic company, with a huge selection of garden play equipment, trampolines, etc. Having looked at their website, but with some questions I needed to ask, I phoned on a Sunday morning, not sure if there would be anyone there, but there was and they were very helpful. We went to their premises: Wow! What a selection they had. I don't believe there can be anywhere in England with a better selection of playhouses, towers, swings, trampolines, etc. They're all there for you to see and try. It made choosing the right one a hundred times easier.
All the prices were clearly shown, and were very competitive. The service was great: knowledgable, helpful and patient!
We -- and our grandchildren -- are delighted with what we bought. Just what we wanted, and great quality.
Finally, Wicken Toys told us (without being at all pushy) that they worked with a company who could build the equipment for us, TP Build It. We're really pleased they did, because TP Build It did a great job of building. They've obviously built loads of this stuff and know what they're doing. I hate to think how long it would have taken us and what problems we would have had! The cost of having TP Build It do it for us was money well spent.
So, Wicken Toys scores 11 out of 10! -- and so do TP Build It.

very good
I was delighted with the service although my only reservation related to the delivery. I appreciate that there are rounds to do and that being relatively close to Milton keynes we would have an early delivery. The goods were to be delivered to my office . I received a call at about 7 in the morning (whilst I was in the shower!) and had to then decide where the goods should be left. My office is not in the most salubrious of places and i was a bit concered especially as I had specifically explained that there would be no-one there until 8ish

Brilliant Service, Brilliant Product
I ordered the lodge on Bank Holiday Monday. The following morning I got a call from Wicken advising that they had received my order and that a van was in the area on thursday between 11 and 1.
Product arrived at 1pm as described.
Took most of friday to put it up.
My son has not stopped playing on it!

Order process was smooth and easy, prompt delivery. One small issue was that i ordered a large go kart and when the sub contracted courier delivered it, he came alone an had to ask my wife to help him lift in a very large heavy box ( as i was not in at the time)...although this was not the fault of wicken toys, maybe ifor future refrence they could make sure this does not happen. I am very happy though with the order and wicken toys

Overall satisfactory but could easily be better
My Order #100007448 (placed on 10 April 2012) was for the Forest Climber.
Please find my comments below:
1/ Assembly Time: a reviewer said it would take 4 hours to assemble - it took me nearer a day and with mistakes made that had to be rectified the following weekend. It was just me and in terms of competence I rate myself as reasonable as I work in the construction industry so good at assembly and following instructions. I review design drawings.I think an indication of the assembly time would be useful to allow for very excited kids who are waiting for it to be safe to use.
2/ Assembly physical difficulty: several pre-drilled holes were not countersunk so the screws were very difficult to get below the surface to avoid snagging injury.
3/ Assembly physical difficulty: the holes for the steel tubes to pass through were too tight - I had to lather the tubes in washing up liquid as a lubricant to assist and still had a give my rubber mallet a good hit. The instructions suggested a normal hammer though I suspect had I used this it might damage the steel tube.
4/ Wrong screws: the screws supplied with the rope net when screwed in would go through an poke out at the other side of the timber they were to be fixed into (too long) - a safety hazard so I've had to unscrew to a loose position.
5/ Instructions: when fitting the steel tubes around/near the tent at the top of the slide it wasn't clear enough about sleeving the bottom trim of the tent through the steel tube at the same time. I missed this so the tent was flapping. Due to the tightness of the tubes in the wood the removal was extremely difficult and also reisertion similarly.
6/ Care/maintenance - the wood looks like it hasn't been treated/tanalised with preservative so I don't know if I have to do this to keep it in good condition or not.

1/ It is difficult to comment on an individual’s ability to build / construct items. The review that said 4hrs was left by another customer.
2/ Again it comes down to the individual’s ability but as a rule we do get good feedback on this product, that it does go together well.
3/ The set is designed to be tight so that it keeps the frame rigid. The instructions state on page 10 step 3 that lubrication can ease assemble. On page 9 under tools needed it shows an impact hammer that has soft ends so that the parts do not get damaged.
4/ I would suggest that the screws were put in too far, that is why they came out the other side.
5/ I would always suggest take your time to read and fully understand what you are going to do in each step before starting.
6/ Tp Timber is always pressure treated / tantalised as stated on our web site, so it is guaranteed against wood rot. If you want to keep the site looking clean and tidy than you could, if wanted give it a clear water sealant or stain but this is not necessary.

Not the greatest
To be honest it wasnt one of the greatest online shopping experience ive had. I purchased a wooden framed sandpit, which was damp and mouldy when it arrived. The wood was also split in several places along the full length of the wood. After building it the thought of dismantling it again to return it wasnt an option. Still though if the wood had been in good condition i would think this is a good sized, decent quality sandpit, just a shame it arrived as if 2nd hand...

Mr Tomley purchased a round pole sandpit on the 1st May, it left us on the 2nd May for delivery on 4th May.
We do give alot of information about round poles and the cracking that will occur. We state on the product page that it can be subject to significant cracking and we also have a link to a page called 'Know about Wood' which gives alot more detail.
I can guarantee that it was not 2nd hand, the wood would appear damp as it is fresh timber that has been preasuure treated to give it the 10 yr guarantee.

Easy, early, excellent!
So, delivery placed - far, far cheaper price than anywhere else. Was expecting a few weeks until delivery as a large item, but 4 days later a polite phone call to check a delivery time for the next day. The item arrived bang on time (despite persistent rain!) and delivery guy was really friendly and co-operative.
The equipment is yet to be assembled as for my son's 3rd birthday, but all items arrived so happy so far!
Would deffo recommend to others and have done!

Great prices, good service - but the products sold as a package don't work together
We bought a metal frame swing and the quadpod to go with it - but sadly the fittings for the two products do not work together, so we needed to buy extra bits. Disappointing!
Otherwise it was good value and the service was great - reasonably rapid delivery.

Plum Bush Baby and baby seat
Purchased for our 10 month old - excellent value for money as comes with both baby seat and an older swing seat to replace as little one grows.
Construction with two persons took less then one hour guided by easy to follow instructions.

Outstanding quality at a reasonable price!!
Excellent product, good quality materials used and reasonable instructions, build time would have been considerable shorter if I had read the instructions properly first!! Make sure your top bar is the right way round before bolting it all together :o)
It is a nice compact swing and slide set which is sturdy and doesn't look ugly in the garden. Would recommend to anyone looking for this kind of set!

We visited the wicken toys nr MK which is a great way to try out the equipment and see it up close. The man in charge was really helpful and our son thought he'd had a trip to the best playground ever!! Delivery was incredibly quick and the product was good quality and reasonably easy to assemble. Good price too. All in all a great experience.

Great Product and delivery.
we bought the plum suricate play centre as joint bithday present for our children. The order process was very simple and we received the usually confirmation e-mails, but what I liked was the fact they said we would be contacted by phone and a suitable time arranged which they did and we were given a delivery to suit us between 10-12. The delivery van was with us 10.05 and the goods offloaded and left in a safe area.
The product was well packed. The installation was failry time consuming but very easy to follow. It took 6 hours to build which is exactly what was advised on the instructions. I would make sure you have someone who is pretty good at diy and you will need an electric screwdriver!!
The kids are delighted with their new outdoor toy and I'm sure it will give years of happy times.

I haven't built the item yet but was very pleased with what I could afford from Wicken Toys with the money I had to spend, I got more than I hoped. I placed the order on Thursday and received it the following Tuesday which was much faster than I expected! Now have to wait a month to put it up for my daughters birthday!
