I wanted to buy the Canon T4i for making videos. I searched Amazon.com and thought the price was reasonable. I checked 42Photo.com and saw the price difference, had no thought about it and ordered my Camera. Other than the great price I was given, the camera was in my hands in about 2 days. Now I can take great photos and videos with my camera, and have had no problems. Everything was great from the service to the camera. This should be the first place to be checked for your photography needs, from amateurs to professionals.

i have looking to buy a canon T4i for 8 months and have been checking prices periodically at different places online and in store. Low price and great customer service - unbeatable

Prior to my purchase from 42nd Street Photo, I had placed an order for a Canon T4i with the lowest priced retailer available through the Internet. However, after waiting 2 weeks for the order to be shipped and not being to properly talk with any agent of theirs, I cancelled my order with them. I was skeptical of running into another low-price retailer when I found that 42nd Street had the lowest price for the body of the T4i. However, I took the plunge and ordered. My experience couldn't have been better. The product was shipped the very same day and it arrived on the day it was supposed to. It was very well packaged and came with some surprise freebies as well. I will certainly be going back to them for my other photographic needs. Thanks.

Also 42nd St Photo had good customer service when I called for product information. Fast shipping and good tracking service throught the shipper. Store customer service email me the product shipping info. A++ for 42nd St Photo, will buy from this photo store again.

Competitive Pricing; Quick Turn-Around; Barely manageable website

Pros: Knowing EXACTLY what I was looking for, I was able to find the product with ease on their website. There were no surprises with the pricing - the list price found by search engines was exactly what I paid & their offer of free shipping was just that: free!

Cons: The only reservation I have for a full 5-star recommendation is the usability of the website: the search tool is mediocre, its results cannot be sorted or further narrowed, and the overall design is graphics-heavy, cluttered, and inelegant.

Great price, excellent service!

So I was a bit wary having read some mixed reviews but my experience was really pretty great. I researched the camera online, found that 42nd photo had the best price and ordered it online a bit nervously this past Sat. By Tuesday, I had still no email of a shipping tracking number so I went to the 42nd photo website and clicked order status. I was immediately given a tracking number which I plugged into the UPS website, which informed me the order had already arrived near my town and was out on the truck for delivery. This was a pleasant surprise as I had selected 7-10 days free shipping as my option. I got home today after work and sure enough it was outside my garage! I opened up the package and everything looks great! No-one called to bug me about buying an additional items--although I will admit I did put that in my comments line as I was ordering online!

Want a pleasurable, honest purchasing experience for a change?

What with all the unfilled promises of Internet vendors today regarding pricing, "bait-and switch" selling, delivery, and customer service in general, it was a pleasure to do business with 42nd Street Photo. I recently bought a Panasonic FZ200 Camera from them at what I believe was the lowest available price on the Internet and it was delivered on time with all package components in great shape. I will be doing business with them again in the future as they provided the rarest commodity in sales today - living up to what you agreed to do - thanks 42nd Street!.

LOWEST PRICE AND QUICK SHIPPING

42nd St Photo had the lowest price I could locate anywhere on the internet for the Canon Powershot SX260. The shipping was free and my order was shipped promptly via UPS. The camera was exactly what I ordered and included what was ordered. I would order again from 42nd St Photo.

Easy, quick, and cheap

I was looking to buy the canon rebel T3i. This was to be my first dslr purchase and I noticed even this camera, as an entry level dslr, was quire expensive.(to me at least) So as anyone would I shopped around. I can across 42 photo. They were selling the camera for $527 over the suggested retail of $700. It was a deal that seemed to great to be true. This wasn't just the camera body either, it came with the kit lenses. I was a little sceptical because of just how amazing the price was. Did some research and found them to be a good company. Placed my order and received my package in a timely matter. They even threw in a little cleaning kit for it.
VERY GOOD COMPANY! Do not be at all discouraged to buy from them if you see a really low price. They are just awesome.

Perfect in every way

This was the best purchasing experience I ever had on the net. The price was well below every other site. I had to call customer service to finish the order and they were amazing. They walked me through the entire process in no time. I used three day delivery and somehow my purchase showed up by noon the next day.

A smooth transaction

I ordered a new Sony A57 body from 42nd Street Photo, because it has the best price. Soon after I placed order, I notice beside a lot of good reviews, there are some bad reviews about it like upselling lying etc. I was a little worried. But to my surprise I got the camera 2 days later (I chose free shipping the website says item will arrive in 7 business days). It also includes a cleaning kit, which is their gift. Everything was as advertised and the camera works fine (took me several days to test it). I have to say I am very satisfied with the purchase. They also offer me another gift if I write this review. Maybe I am just lucky!?

i got a canon 600d at a very good price and it's brand new. i was really happy about that. and the customer service is really good. but one thing that can be improved is that the design of the website. overall, i'm happy with this shopping.

Lowest price, but could've done without the sales pitch

We were looking to buy a Canon EOS T3i DSLR and found 42nd Street Photo to be the cheapest. The camera came new with a lens --absolutely perfect. No complaints with the product. However, a sales guy from the store called my cell phone the day after the sale to ask me to call him to verify my order. I don't get cell signal at work, so I called the number back during my commute home. I left my office number and requested a call back after 9am. He called my cell again shortly before noon the next day and left a message, so I called him back from my office phone to find out what needed to be verified. He said I had forgot to select whether I needed a signature on the package (I don't remember there being an option at all, Hmm.. I thought), and I declined. He then told me the camera didn't include a memory card, which I answered that I knew that already and didn't need one --I already had a SanDisk 32GB Class 10 30MB/s SDHC card. He then said the T3i *needed* a 700X memory card (120MB/s) and wouldn't work properly without one. I thought that was odd, given I had used my 30MB/s 32GB card in my other 1080p HD camcorders without a glitch. He then offered me a $50 price cut on the T3i if I bought their 8GB 700X SDHC card, with their card discounted to $149. I only had a budget of $500 to begin with, which I was pushing a bit for this purchase, so I had to decline. The sales guy then replied OK and said he was going to ship the camera that day, which he did. After hanging up, I went online, read the T3i's manual, which mentioned the 1080p30 data rate was somewhere around 330MB per minute, so my 30MB per second SHDC card was just fine for recording. In no way did I *need* a 700X SDHC card --it was a sales gimmick. Anyway, I'm happy with the camera at an unbelievable price --cheaper than refurbished. I am glad I had the courage and skepticism to say "No" to the sales guy.

Low price and duplicitous sales practices

Look, you will get low prices from 42photo.com.

But you will get none of the "take my money and leave me alone" satisfaction with Amazon or Buy or other reputable retailers.

They are aggressively low priced to entice people and then hit them with vague and contradictory follow up sales pitches. If you know this and simply call it out, you will get a product with a low price.

If you can't handle the phone confrontation and "working" for your low price, buy from Amazon.

I don't like it, but I saved 5% off Amazon's price on a $600+ camera. The savings will get me a charger and two spare batteries from Ebay. I just had to fend off a chump. Could be worse. First world problems, people.

But, I do think it ridiculous, nonetheless.

Best Price, fast shipping and item received as described

Internet order placed on 8/19/2012 for Sony NEX-7 camera @ $1179, the best price we could find. Received the item as described on 8/27/2012. Nobody called us to sell additional item. Smooth and fast transaction.

Very good price and excellent delivery

I just bought a Nikon 3100 for my wife. She has loved a Nikon camera since 2004, but we have waited (almost 8 years) until we could get a good one with a reasonable price. We got the best price from 42nd Street. They also delivered it for free and in just two business days. Awesome!

This is *almost* 5 stars

The sales call following my order made me feel uncomfortable. I was told I need an additional bigger battery, because the included one is a "demo" battery "good for 20 minutes". Also they tried to substitute my item with a different color, which I refused. I was ready to cancel my order towards the end of the call. This call business also seemed to delay the shipping by a day or two, while I was returning their call during their business hours.

I received the camera promptly in one day after the call. The packaging was adequate, the camera works fine, and the free cleaning kit was included. The camera box wasn't sealed, but I can't say if it supposed to be.

Product could have been packed a little better, as space allowed box to crush, but it did not affect contents. Camera as advertised: excellent price. They made a call to follow up the order to make sure I did not need to purchase a media card, which is an oft forgotten item. Great all round service.
