I was very impressed with the service. I placed my order on Sunday then received an e-mail on the Monday to say that the order would be delivered on Tuesday. At that point I was given the option to change the delivery day or get it delivered to a neighbour. I then received another e-mail on the Tuesday giving a delivery window of one hour. The delivery was then made as promised. I wish all companies were as efficient as this.
Couldn't fault the service that I was given , Parts for my mower came as described & on time , ..I also went to the sales department a few days later & brought a new mower to add to my contracting range ..
No problem at all with placing the order and the quality of the products.
The only gripe I have is no-one seemed to read my comment when ordering about the limited access to my property. I specifically said that a lorry bigger than 7.5-12 tons would struggle getting in. So when an irate lorry driver in an 18 ton lorry turned up, I wasn't best pleased. I asked to look at his paperwork and sure enough, no mention of restricting the lorry size. When we eventually got the thing unloaded, in the plastic pouch containing the delivery note was the paperwork generated by the order which showed my comment-unfortunately not visible.
The driver said I should've called to make sure someone had seen the comment-that reminds me-I must go the opticians to get my hind sight checked!!
I found Abbey garden sales by chance. I was after chainsaw chains for my Einhell chainsaw.
I checked out eBay like I normally do but thought the spares on there seemed expensive. After a google search i found Abbey and ended up with two chains delivered for £18 which would have cost me £29 on eBay !!! I will shop here next time.
I ordered a Mountfield leaf blower / garden vac from Abbeygardensales and got it delivered promptly. After the first use I noticed that the strap on the collector bag was nearly ripping off. I phone and was promised a new bag. Nothing arrived so I continued with the old bag until the machine stopped working. I phoned to talk to them and ask for advice. I left a number to get a call back, which didn't happen. After calling again, we agreed I'd try once more and then call back. I got an apology for not receiving the collector bag and would I like one sent out immediately. We agreed to decide during the call to follow. Machine didn't work, called and was promised a full exchange the next day. I had to make arrangements for that to be possible as I would be at work. Nothing arrived on the promised day. On the Wednesday, two days later, a delivery company came to collect only and had nothing to deliver. The next day came a message that they wanted to deliver on Friday. As I didn't get that message until later that evening and had to work the next day, I could make no arrangements. Luckily the neighbours could take delivery, which solved that problem. Having now used the replacement, my conclusion is that the machine works fine but the bag ripped again but in a different place. Called (again) and was promised a properly checked replacement bag (again) but nothing showed (again). Called and left my number for a call back which I didn't get (again). Machine won't start (again).
I've now had enough and have contacted them for a collection and a refund. I'll get a machine somewhere else.
UPDATE: they have now left me a message on my answerphone saying THEY WILL NOT LET ME HAVE A REFUND because the machine has been used. It would seem they have introduced a new rule that any claims on warranties or the right to return faulty good can only be made if the product has not been used. I'm not sure how I am to find out if a product is in a proper state if I'm not allowed to use it first.
Find it hard to believe that two little pieces of plastic plus two pieces of rubber can cost with postage £22.60. Before I fit it I will make another out of stainless as a back up should another one need replacing.
Easy to purchase and staff kept me well informed with my order - will be back!!!
Ordered a Toro Leaf Blower on Friday afternoon. Couriered message received to confirm delivery following Monday between 2 and 3. Delivery received as expected. All this at the cheapest price I found after searching the web for several days. What can I say? Simply outstanding... :-)
I think Abby garden sales are a first class company to deal with, very efficient and the company they used to deliver my product was second to none, I will certainly use them again when I am going to buy some more garden products from them, I cannot fault them.
First class service. Received item less than 48 hours after order confirmation. Thank you, item was exactly as described and offered at a competitive price whilst maintaing quality. I will order from this company again.
My lady gardener demonstrated an extended cut and grip secateur which she thought would give me serious help in deadheading in my garden. I unsuccessfully tried to purchase one in seven garden centres so spoke to my gardener and was given the Abbey Garden website. I went on the web found the article I was looking for and very easily placed an order. I was absolutely amazed when two days later the item was delivered. Fantastic service. Very many thanks.
I placed an online order then decided that i needed an additional item.To avoid any additional postage costs i rang Abbey Garden Sales who took the details and the additional payment without fuss. All of my items arrived soon after.
Efco LR55-VBX Mower The Mower was delivered next day as promised. Good mower instruction booklet & a good engine booklet from Briggs & Stratton. Quite easy to put together although disappointed that no plug spanner or blade spanner supplied with the machine. Oil was supplied free from Abby Garden Sales. Once assembled the mower started 1st pull. The 1st cut did not seem as good a finish as I would have expected, then I found the blade had not been sharpened. It was about the same as the side of a tea spoon handle. After sharpening the blade I cut the 1st lawn which was dry & 75 mm high. The mower produced a very good finish & collected a lot of grass in the grassbox. Much more than my old mower.
Pleased with myself I hosed the mower off. Then it wouldn't start. Perhaps the water I thought. Removed the plug, dried it & it started 3rd pull.
Then the big test. 6 to 10 inch grass very wet using the side discharge & maximum height. The mower coped very well considering the conditions although it did block up quite often, which was expected with very wet long grass. The 4 speed option is well worth the extra money for steep ground & long grass. To give an idea of the size of the lawn & took 4 hours to cut. The big wheels are a bonus with undulating ground and the mower is comfortable to use. The folding handle design is great, it folds flat & fits in the back of the Volvo easily.
Now the negatives:
1. The starter rope goes over the right handle locking wheel, between the metal eyelets & with starting has cut 25% through the plastic handle wheel in 3 places.
2. Three times the engine refused to start after many pulls of the starter. (I had not hosed it down this time). Had to wait 20 minutes each time before it would start. This was embarrassing as I was showing it off to several other people at the time. Briggs & Stratton state if it does not start in 2 pulls, they will fix it. I will contact them tomorrow.
3. Blunt blade.
4. No plug spanner or blade spanner supplied
