I had a very pushy guy come to my door from ADT Security. I asked directly if it was a sales call and was told 'not at all' but then launched into his spiel about how he wanted to provide a security assessment as there were a lot of burglaries in the area. He wouldn't confirm or not if it had been instigated by the council or the police - I checked and it wasn't. Seems to be a scare tactic, clearly WAS a sales call. Also no email address on ADT's website - in order to provide feedback have to register ALL my personal details include phone number - yeah right. Certainly won't be using this company!
We inherited an ADT alarm system when we took over a retail business, in the past 4 years we've had no end of trouble with the cheap alarm system they installed, a total lack of customer service and engineers that contradict each other and blame anything but the shoddy alarm system they use.
Despite numerous engineers being called out over the years our alarm regularly displays error messages and signals false alarms.
ADT have a habit of over billing, for instance our last call out was due to a technical fault, it took the engineer 5 minutes to identify the problems and 10 minutes to 'fix'. The invoice came through stating that he'd been here 2.05 hours and that it was due to an intruder alert so the work was chargeable.
