We found this company on the internet. They managed to book an appointment 'convenient' for us. Before the appointment, they tried to change it but we wanted the booking kept. My partner then stayed in all day for them and they cancelled at 6 that night! They then rescheduled for another day that week, when we waited for them again and they cancelled again. The third appointment they never turned up and needless to say i didnt rebook! Pretty useless company before they have even done any work!
My conversation with Aerialforce:-
Hello can you tell me how much it would cost to fit a magic eye cable and remote?
Aerialforce:- Certainly - what size is the house?
Me:- small two bedroom cottage link directly upstairs
Aerialforce:- That will be £125, we can have someone around between now and four. You will get a call before they are due to arrive is that okay?
Me - cool okay that sounds good.
Aerialforce turns up...
Crashes into the neighbors fence with his van, parks on someone elses drive......
comes in, we ask how he wants to be paid, he says "£125 on the card. asks to see where its gonna be located upstairs. Pulls out the invoice says the remote will cost an extra £25, and he will drop it off tomorrow. He then produces the invoice to be signed.. I question the amount of the remote and he scribbles it off the invoice
He then examines the sky box - says it needs a special RF converter - sets about drilling holes.
I look at the invoice and notice he has put an extra £145 on top of the £125 and then ask him why he has put that amount on the bill, when it was £125 - he then says that the RF connector costs a lot of money and its the best one around.
I ask to look at the product.... then I google the product infront of him the cheapest ones are £16 most expensive £50
I tell him I am not gonna pay that and he can take his cables and go. He then says he will phone his boss for a reduction deal.... comes back and quotes £180 for the lot.... I haggle down to £170 he then goes and finishes off. I watch him struggle to try and fit the RF controller. he then comes back and appologises says that the box is not suitable for the RF controller and has two simple male and female coaxial connectors... he tells me the job is £125 cash (still no remote)
We then go to the upstairs room and I watch him tune the tv in...
So beware Its stil an expensive job for what he done, but I agreed the £125 as it wasn't worth arguing over a remote.
I was very pleased with my new tv area installation! The price was extremely reasonable and the job was done very well. Time period was okay too, they appear a few weeks after I have made the phone call. There was some problems with it after a couple days, but I gave them a call and they where more than happy to fix this for me.
We hired Aerial force to install a new satellite dish for us and mount our new television onto the wall for us, the engineers arrived on-time and were fairly friendly throughout the process! The installation of the satellite and wall mount didn't actually take that long in the end and i was very pleased with the service i received, also all at a reasonable price too, would recommend!
My Mum was complaining about dodgy signal on her Sky set so I called these guys up for help. They dealt with my query very professionally and arrived at Mums on the Monday afternoon. The problem was fixed in quick time and we were both very happy with the service. No more dodgy signal and no more nagging from my dearest mother!
I called customer service and booked an engineer to perform a survey of my home. After two days they arrived and found a suitable location for my satellite dish to be installed. A day later they installed my service and since then everything working fine except a little problem occurred and I contacted them straight away. Their were so prompt, fixed my fault and now no problem. I highly recommend this to everyone who needs aerial service and it is value for money.
I live in a block of flats, but the roof is very high & sky said they couldn't install our dish for that reason, so we went online and found aerialforce, we called them up, and I was happy with the quote the gave me, so I agreed to go ahead. This young man showed up on time & I was really impressed, because the weather wasn't very good that day, but cracked on and did a really good job!.. I'd recommend them any day of the week!
Although there are a lot of negative reviews, i searched others and found very much the same, so decided to give aerial force a try as they could come out sooner.
although they were a little late on arriving, the guy who turned up was very friendly and seemed very professional. my antenna had been damaged with the bad winds on Monday and he recommended a replacement at a reasonable price and did this in the same visit.
Overall I am very satisfied and personally would use them again.
Contacted aerialforce by phone and arrange for them to wall mount my new plasma screen tv and wire the sky box to the bedroom tv, engineer arrived on time and completed the job quickly.
Pleased with the end result and price would use again.
Had Aerialforce to install a digital aerial. When it stopped working paid £70 for them to fix the problem. When the problem re occurred could not get them back to fix the problem under there promised garrentee. No response from them at all. theyu also trade as TV Aerial company.
I booked engineer to come and check my aerial as the picture kept breaking up. They were supposed to come 'in the morning'. I rang four times during the day and each time they said the engineer was running a bit late and would be with me soon. I rang finally at 5.00pm and was told " oh he can't come today, are you in tomorrow?" - Useless!!!
Over the course of a year I have spent £499 with this company trying to stop my picture breaking up. 2 new aerials, 3 new booster boxes over 3 visits.
I found after visiting my local Maplins store and taking advise, all that was needed was a £7.99p 4G filter, that plugs into my aerial in the back of my TV, no booster boxes were needed, I now doubt that I needed a new aerial either, as mine was only 2 years old. I now have a perfect reception at all times. How I wish that I HAD READ THESE REVIEWS FIRST.
I am going to contact trading standards, Watchdog and any other person that will listen !
Sugest eveyone else does the same. lets stop them before too many others get caught. The also trade as TV AERIAL COMPANY.
Arranged for an engineer to visit @ 3pm, told he would ring before to confirm.
at 4pm rang office to find out if the engineer was still coming, I was told i would be rang back immediately.
5PM rang again was told the Engineer would not be coming, I got a bit miffed at that point.
Asked to talked to a manager, got someone. I asked if it was to much trouble if anyone could have spent 2 minutes to call to say either they would be late or not coming.
Apparently they are busy and it is to much trouble to ring customers that are inconvenienced.
Got to be close to the worst customer service I have encountered.
I wish I had seen these reviews before I gave this company any work at all. They also trade as tvaerialcompany.co.uk. The only thing they did well was turn up and take my money. The repair they made to my aerial failed after a few days. Emails on this went unanswered for almost a year. I had to have the installation replaced by another company at which point they discovered that the splitter aerial force had installed had been put in upside down and was now full of water. When I passed this into on to aerial force they basically accused me of lying. My advice - use a genuinely local small installer, mine was much cheaper, friendly and did a good job too.
I wouldn't give this company ANY stars at all if that were possible.
I'll give them 1 star for arriving on time at the correct address.
They originally quoted £35 for an aerial repair and tune up.
The reality is rather different once they get up on the roof.
I had called them out because of a quite common problem, a bracked had come loose at one end of the aerial..
I was told I needed a new aerial and charged £138 for something I didn't need,
I still have the old one and discovered it could have been easily repaired with one simple screw replacement.
Having found the company my dog chewed through the cable. They phoned me saying I'm on the first call tomorrow morning between 8-8.30 great I thought! Then I had a read on the Internet about they was on watch dog and I seen this page. Next morning waited got a answer phone message off a man which I didn't realise I had till after at 8.25. I phoned them at 8.45 not realising they had already phoned me. The lady on the phone said she could phone the engineer to see where he is I said no she said I could reschedule? I thought this is what everyone else went through so I cancelled. Later In the day I realised I had a answer message off the company sent at 8.25 saying the engineer phone in sick and they could get some one to me later on? They are not a local firm no matter what area you put in the search engine they provide every postcode around the area!
I had taken two afternoons off for aerial force to come and sort out the problem we had. both times failed to turn up but notified me at the end of the day. I rebooked for an early 8am slot after being guaranteed by customer services it was the first slot and would definately be there at 8am. told them if they werent there at 8am they neednt bother coming. they phoned me at 820 that they were on their way. i told them not to bother. customer services tried to reschedule but when i complained about the unreliability they put the phone down on me.. will never use this company and would rather wait for another company to come out. I actually thought they were subcontracted by sky as i was on the sky website at the time when aerialforce started chatting on line
Called thinking it was a local company though it would seem they have a tradesman in each area. Fast to arrive to quote. Though I had already found a local person on google who arrived sooner.
He advised me aerial was fine with good signal so just needed wires fitting for living room and 3 bedrooms. £80 all inc.
Aerial force didn't test aerial he sat writing a quote for 20 mins
£120 years warranty
£110 12 wide band 6' pole
£20 4way sp4 3x cables
grand total of £300
£250 if done today
No brainer who I called back!
Called first thing am for a "same day" installation. Waited in all day, telephoned twice and was assured each time that the engineer was on his way.
Engineer never showed up, received a call at 5.30pm to see when I would like to reschedule.... (will not be bothering to use them, I will find another installer instead)
I called Aerialforce after moving into a new house and having trouble getting any reception.
I rang and was told someone would be with me at 13:00 and so stayed in waiting for them to arrive. When they had not arrived by 14:00 I rang again to chase them up and told they would be with me within the hour. Another 2 calls later I gave up, but then received a call at 19:00 saying they were on their way.
When they arrived they ran a diagnostic and said they could fix it but it would cost £100.00 as they had to install something (they didn't give much away). The guy then produced an aerial booster at which point I said I already had one in a storage box and showed it to him. He then begrudgingly said that that might fix it and it did (I probably should have tried this first but didn't think at the time).
I asked him how they could justify £100.00 for a booster you can get for £7 online. He went a bit red and then left.
If you do use them, I would advise checking the online price of anything they tell you they need to install to fix your problem there and then as it will save you a lot of money.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I had a new aerial fitted over a year ago and have had to call them back twice due to nothing working from the outset. The customer service was terrible and they blamed my daughter for 'knocking' the aerial socket which she cleary had not done. Eventually I called another company (Midland Aerial Services - brilliant!) who spotted the issue almost immediately. Aerialforce had connected the booster incorrectly which meant that I was not receiving a signal at all in one room and only intermittently in another. They also pointed out that when bringing the cable around the outside of the front of the house to reach a bedroom, the cable had simply been thrown into the guttering rather than secured properly and they hadn't even taken the old aerial away. I can't bring myself to take this up with Aerialforce as they are so rude. I would rather go back to Midland Aerial Services as they as helpful, courteous and competent - none of these words could be used to describe the services of Aerialforce!
Professional, friendly and courteous. Rang the call centre yesterday afternoon, installer turned up at 9am this morning having rung ahead to confirm attendance. He surveyed our loft for precisely the best position for the aerial, completed the installation in a neat and tidy manner and invoiced the price quoted over the phone - some short high quality cables to attach TVs to aerial points provided for no additional cost. Performance and picture quality now of good quality.
Same as most of the other reviews - never showed up.
Booked in the morning for a 11-3 slot. Engineer not arrived by 3pm so I called customer service a further 3 times for updates. Very disorganized and borderline rude staff on the phone. Was eventually told they couldn't guarantee anyone would be able to attend that day.
They called me a 5.40 to confirm no one would be coming that day and and would I like to reschedule? Funnily enough - absolutely not.
Suggest you look for another provider first.
I set up an appointment for 8-8.30. At 8.45 I called AerialForce and they indicated the engineer was 'stuck in traffic' and 'just arriving' which was completely untrue of course. The engineer allegedly had my contact information, but of course neglected to call to advise on arrival time or that he/she was running late. Given all the other negative reviews, I'm not surprised... On to the next service provider!
I have waited in over 16 hours on separate days for two appointments missed by their engineers. I made appointment for between 8-12pm. No one turned up. I called their helpline and the person who answered issued no apology and just informed me they would now becoming between 2pm and 5pm and I would have to wait. No one turned up. I had to ring them to ask what was going on and they offered no apology just asked if I wanted to reschedule for a different day.
A week later the appointment was scheduled for allotted time of 8am and 12pm. Again, no one turned up! I was livid and rung up demanding to know what had happened this time. I was told the engineer was running late at a previous job, and when I asked to know why I wasn't informed of the delay they said nothing. The told me to wait and the engineer would be with me that afternoon between 2 and 5pm. He has still not turned up! Total morons the entire company. DO NOT USE!!!!!! Worst service I have ever received in my entire life!!!!!! Complete cowboys!!!
I order 1 aerial and cable. They threw my old aerial into my garden, the cable was left at the top of the chimney stack and not at the bottom as requested. They left me 25 feet short of the required amount having been shown in extreme detail the cable run. When I complaint they were abusive and threatening. They did promise to fix matters. when the enginneer came he had no cable and if he did was only prepared to add more cable and not complete my order. I rang to complain and was told the company had gone into liqyidation. I check with Companies house and no such claim has ever been filed. Their Registered own a Patricia Manning is not contactable and in general they don't give a damn. I have never been humiliated and abused by a company so much and had to pay £120 for the privilidge. I have informed Trading standards so hopefully they will be prevented from causing more upset elsewhere.
Hancock found this review useful
Had them come to our house as Channel 4 was not working using Sky TV. The installer said there was a strong signal and nothing was wrong! He suggested that the box might be faulty (according to him Sky always sends out re-conditioned boxes). He tried to sell me a regular Sky box for £200.00 instead of the £100.00 that one can be in the shops! Channel 4 was still not working and Sky came around. They fixed it by replacing a part on the Satellite dish. Tried to get my money back but the company claims is in Administration. Be aware do not use this company.
