They sold me dodgy handset which supposed to be brand new.

I bought a Samsung Galaxy S3 (paid for a brand new one) with 24months contract with Orange. The first handset received faulty and replaced. The replaced handset is now blacklisted by another network operator (not Orange) after six months of use as someone might have reported it lost or stolen! When contacted to affordablemobiles, they simply refused to do anything by saying it is the network operator. Network operator on the other hand is saying that the handset is not supplied by them so they cannot take any responsibility. I am still paying the full amount of GBP31.00pm in protest but affordablemobiles never bothers.
I still do not understand how they are allowed to sell contracts by the major network operators! The network operators should also be held responsible for selling their contracts through these untrustworthy companies.

Customer Service Non Existent

I called regarding a redemption claim problem, they claimed to have paid me, no money in my account call lasted about an hour kept getting put on hold person on other end informed me they have the wrong account number (strange that my phone bill gets paid) said they would get back to me ,this never happened so I then emailed them got an auto email back saying we aim to contact you within 72 hrs well it's now been over 4 months. This company is a joke and I will never deal with again.

I have now looked into this for you and can confirm that the payment was delayed due to incorrect bank details. This then had to added manually which does take more time, but the payment of £54.17 has been processed and should show in your account within the next 7-14 days.

Horrendous - AVOID AT ALL COSTS

If I could choose 0 stars out of 5, then I would. After not getting my phone on next day delivery service, I waited a few days then decided to write them an e-mail. I got no response. So a few days later I tried calling - this is a waste of time. I was on hold for just over 45min before someone their end decided to answer. Then hang up without talking. I presumed this meant that there was something wrong with the phones, so I emailed once more. I waited another day and still had no response, even though it says it the auto-reply that they try and respond within 72 hours. I had been waiting for over a week for a response at this point. I decided to call them once more - again on hold for ages (around 30min) then gave up as I had work to do. I tried them later the same day, but still it was on hold for ages before I gave up again. I then wrote them another email which they didn't bother replying to. Eventually I decided to ring the sales lines (after all, I am TRYING to buy a phone). The sales staff were frankly appalling. THEY DO NOT CARE! Not only did they tell me that they wouldn't help me, but that it was a customer service issue, not a sales issue. I pointed out that I want to buy a phone. The dappy "can't get a job elsewhere because nobody else hires morons that are that useless" woman on the end of the phone didn't even bother to reply properly. She just said "I'm transfering you now". And then I was hold for 20min before giving up. I have since wrote an e-mail to both Sales and Customer Services (ha-bloody-ha) stating that I do not want the phone. I think somebody in the legal system needs to have a look into this poor excuse for a company.

Haven't bought from them yet, but sales team seems uninterested in selling!!!

I called the sales team yesterday to inquire about samsung galaxy contract. I have to say i was so amazed to see their lack of interest in giving any information out let alone selling anything. As far as they are concerned, you could do all of this online!! I wanted to use this company seeing as they have some good deals on phone contracts, but the mentality of the sales people worries me. I think the company need to train their staff in dealing with customers. (After seeing all the reviews posted here complaining about the customer services, I wonder why the company hasn't done something about it already!!)

What a shower of Sh*te, bad customer service, Nasty attitude

Tried to claim, the first redemption voucher, nothing no contact. 60Min on the phone trying to talk to someone, got through to this plank, must be reading from a script. Kept calling me mate. I send the vouchers recorded delivery, have signed POD. Quote: "Sorry mate we have no record of this, Better luck next time ehh" them cut me off. I was only trying to get what I bought from them, they offer Quote:" 20 Month 1/2 price by redemption" What a crock. Poor service nasty people on customer support, If the MD reads this you should loose your job and the customer service people should all be sacked.!!!!

Con Merchants - DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY

I bought a new Samsung phone for my wife in September 2013 on a deal that required full monthly payment to O2 and then a 50% discount claimable via vouchers and copy bills to Affordable Mobiles. Made the 1st claim on 8th Jan and received email back saying approved and refund would be in my bank by 2nd March? Didn't happen, rang customer service and was told issues with payments but would definitely be in my account by 19th March - didn't happen even though I got an email off "Debbie" telling me same date. Can't get through on telephone - they have a clever ploy of knowing what your order number is and then who is ringing, which must trigger a "don't answer message". Sent emails even to their MD - no response.
How this company can continue to trade by putting false pricing, customer satisfaction reviews and absolute lies on their website is beyond me. I now join all the others who have been ripped off and its now off to Watchdog and Trading Standards to finish this....DO NOT BUY FROM AffordableMobiles.co.uk!


UPDATE 28/3/14
Well this morning I was surprised to find a credit made into my bank - still to clear. UNFORTUNATELY it was only 2/3rds of what I am owed and what was acknowledged as approved by Affordablemobiles!! Having started my 1st claim on the deal I made on 8th January it still goes on until they pay what they owe and deliver complete in the forthcoming claim backs!

I have checked your account to look into the amount paid, and it would appear it is correct. Your line rental redemption is 18 months half price on a £22 a month plan. This equates to £11 a month x by 18 months = £198 in total to be repaid. This is then refunded in 6 equal payments of £33. I can see from your order that the first repayment is £33, however, I do appreciate the frustration that the delays have caused you, so once again please accept our sincere apologies for this and thank you for your patience. Ordered and paid for a samsung phone on the 3 network.Phone was in stock and ready for delivery the next day,only to be told that the deal is no longer available.Very disappointed.

very bad customer service

I said to customer service to send me invoice for my changed mobile phone with different imei but I got letter after 1 week with old phone imei . I told her 5 6 times to send new phone imei but she send it again old phone imei . I can't say anything just want to take them to court for misguiding a customer and wasting there precious the just be carefull from them they all are same working in this company. never want to trust them

NO NO NO - YUCK - CONNED OUT OF CASHBACK DEAL, POOR & RUDE CUSTOMER SERVICE

READ THIS BEFORE YOU COMMIT TO BUYING FROM AFFORDABLE MOBILES (ESPECIALLY CASHBACK DEALS..).

I wished I'd NEVER bought a cashback offer or anything else from AffordableMobiles and I'd strongly advise you not to either especially when you are talking large sum of cashback e.g. £200 - £300 like me, and really depend on it)

Customer service is non existent - on the latest phone conversation I have found them extremely rude and have a "it's your problem not mine" attitude. In other phone calls - they said they will call me back in next couple of days, but never did (after over 3 weeks and waiting). In addition an email I sent to their support team took 5 months(!) to reply to as well (and only after phoning them to prompt them of this). As soon as something falls through the cracks (and through no fault of the customer at all) - the already lacking customer service becomes non existent, and you feel like you are left with no support or any means of help.

Still thinking of buying from affordablemobiles? So let me tell you my story. I bought a new phone on a 24 month contract cashback deal on 23rd October 2013. Phone was received OK, and I ported my old number to this contract/phone on 25th October 2013 using the guide via affordablemobiles, again it was OK. At this point I noticed that my cashback paper form had a different address from that of the website. So I emailed cashback customer support for advice. This is the email that took 5 months to be replied to... just in time, as my first cashback form at that point needed to be sent in (first 5 bills). So I checked that everything was in order on my side (I was paying Direct Debit so no chance of missed payments etc, and my first 5 bills were clean as a whistle).

I sent off the cashback form & bill copies, and being a good citizen used recorded delivery (never leaving anything to chance). After I the recorded delivery tracking showed a successful signature for receipt around 24th Feb 2014, I then called up affordablemobiles on 27th Feb 2014 to check that everything was in was in order. A polite lady I spoke to confirmed that they had received the cashback form OK. However she said there was a problem with my account as the network provider had a "clawback" on it. I didn't really understand this - but she said she would investigate with accounts and I would get a callback in the next couple of days. I asked if there was anything I could help to resolve by calling my network provider, and she said no, as it was between affordablemobiles and the network provider. Up to now I never did receive a call back from affordablemobiles. And I never received an email regarding cashback like I should have expected to (which I understand which should have been sent 72 hours after processed).

Fast forward to almost a month later, I called affordablemobiles again, and upon speaking to another lady about this issue, again I was informed that there was a "clawback" on my account applied by the network provider on my account on the 29th October 2013 (only 6 days after I started my contract) due to my phone being "disconnected" and implied I would lose ALL my cashback. I wasn't offered any advice for resolution at all. The lady got progressively ruder, terse, and confrontational to the point of almost just reading a script back to my questions even before I had finished the sentence. For example I asked why a disconnect happened to my account only 6 days after it was opened (and this was all news to me - having used the phone straight through that period!), and all she did was just seem to read from a script stating various reasons, highlight things like missed payments, termination of contract early, changing price plans etc. When I mentioned that it would be impossible for me to miss a payment 6 days into a contract, all she said (and very curtly) was that some contracts require up front payments. She did not bother looking into my details at all, and also the fact that all cashback deals from affordablemobiles require Direct Debit payment details when you buy the phone from them! I asked her why I didn't get any email notifications after 72 hours, and she just replied that my email address was probably wrong (even though I hadn't changed it, and I got my initial order acknowledgement email ok). As I was finding her so rude I then requested to speak to her supervisor, but she just refused point blank. After a stalemate, she put me on hold, but then came back with the same reply. Basically there was no way for me to speak to someone else (I said I would even hold the line for as long as it took, but she said that she wasn't allowed to hold). After saying I wished to formally complain all I was offered was a callback in the next 72 hours (which I don't expect to receive after my first experience of being told I would get a callback 3 weeks prior).

Subsequent to this I called my network provider again and told them about the "clawback" issue. They confirmed to me that my account was clean as a whistle and that my number had been ported in the correct manner, that my direct debit payments were and always had been in order, and that my line had NEVER been disconnected, and everything had been in order.

So to reiterate, I bought phone on a cashback deal, I followed affordablemobiles' instructions and rules to the letter. I read the Terms and conditions ten times over. I checked with my network provider that my account was in good order from the moment it was opened up to the present time. I sent the cashback form and bills at the earliest opportunity and tracked it. But then because seemingly of a problem/discrepancy at affordablemobiles's end, they never called me back when they said they would, they never sent me any communications whatsoever to confirm that they received / processed the cashback form, always leaving it to me to chase up. And finally when I through to them I got a very rude and unhelpful customer representative as my only means of contact, with no option to speak to someone else.

So if you are really are still thinking of getting a cashback deal... Stop and think, would you really willing to go through this hassle (Time wasted chasing up / calling / waiting on the queue / loss of £200 - £300 cashback) when something goes wrong like this and through no fault of your own, and then you get affordablemobiles giving you a "talk to the hand" response? If it sounds too good to be true.. then that is usually for a reason!

My order number is 3539063. I phoned my network provider again tonight and they confirmed there is no reason on my part why they would have applied a clawback, and that there must be an administrative error. They request that you contact them directly to confirm this

Yet another poor cashback redeemer

Just coming towards the end of a 2 year contract with Affordable Mobiles, which involved 6 equal redemption claims for £50 - on the face of it a hefty discount on my O2 contract of £38pm. I have however had I think to chase every claim, certainly all the recent ones - I put a claim in 10th January, which has been acknowledged, but not paid yet, despite a claimed 28 day maximum turnaround time - 2 chasers as yet unanswered. This I guess is the price you pay for trying to get a discounted tariff, & yes, my response will be to vote with my feet and leave a company which has such a poor attitude towards its customers.

Go elsewhere!

This is only my second cashback submission but already I wish the contract was at an end. It took several submissions and many emails to get my first cash back but this time it is 35 days since my submission and not a penny! They ignore all emails and it seems from other reviews that they also ignore the telephone. I will try the telephone next but it's finding the time. When I get more time I might just as well take legal action.

Absolutley Disgusting - Rip Off - Problems All the time

First of all iv never known a company to give me so much stress and headache in life. Every time i have tried claiming my money back there has 'been a problem with out system' well if there is a problem with your system every 3 months then i think you need to take a closer look at replacing it. I was promised 4 call backs on 4 different occasions by Colleagues called Sam and Amy. Never got a call, surprise surprise.

This time i have sent on my voucher for cash back and apparently they haven't received it! What a surprise another excuse to pull out of the bag.

Customer services and the whole company is an absolute dismal!

Please save yourself money and wasting time and go somewhere else.

hello?,is there anyone there?

My Sony Xperia Tipo has died after only 9 months.It was updating an app and switched off and will not turn on again.Sony advised a software fix which didn't work and so I am now paying £29 a month for a phone I can't use. Its a little disconcerting that it would seem to get a reply from customer service I need to join and post on a review site.
However "Phones4u, and the Carphone Warehouse " have both offered me alternative deals to buy out my contract as I cannot upgrade till May 2015.
So what do you say folks?

and surprise,surprise nothing happened . Still I only have to wait for another 15 months and I can throw this worthless mobile away and deal with a company that gives a damn!

I am sorry to hear that your handset has developed a problem, and Sony handsets do come with a 24 month warranty, so this can be looked at for repair. I cannot investigate this issue without your order number as I cannot find your account so please do provide this and I can then try and resolve this issue for you. if i could give it less stars i would! impossible getting cashback

have had numerous problems with obtaining my cashback payments ever since taking out an 02 contract through a middleman, Affordable Mobiles which i found through moneysupermarket. I have never had 1 occasion where they just pay my cashback without me contantly having to chase them down.

I attempted to send my mobile bills by email to claim my £25 cashback recently on 18/02/14, however despite their site recommending this method & giving the assurance they would respond within 72 hrs if any details were required, i have not had a word back in a fortnight.

I have also forwarded my chasing emails to their complaints email address however despite contacting them by email by a total of 4 occasions trying to find out whether the info I forwarded was sufficient, I have heard precisely nothing back & it is clear to me that their intention is to make claiming cashback so frustrating, awkward, time consuming & difficult that customers will just give up & leave it....

their customer service is non existant & i wish i had never got involved with them

Have been charged more than the monthly price agreed.

I saw an amazing deal - £16.99 a month for a note 3 on orange, yet my first bill has come through at over £30! Really cannot afford this. Apalled.

No Problems

I took out a contract with this company about 16 months ago and have had no problems . I received my phone and free gift of a camera that I still use for work purposes . i only requested cashback a couple of times and this I received no problem
got a bit lazy and never requested the rest . Would look at using this company again if I get another good deal .

Still no cashback and no explanation - very poor service

I sent a cashback claim in to affordablemobiles over 2 months ago and have proof it arrived safely.
No acknowledgement received or payment received to date. Surely this is enough time to process a claim. It's a complete waste of time trying to phone them and they don't bother to respond to emails. I've managed to make cashback claims successfully from this company in the past so this is a particularly disappointing and frustrating experience.

Sorry that was the invoice number shown on the claim forms. I don't see the order number on the forms, but looking back through my emails I think it must have been 1553636.
