Good at reception, then we went for dinner. Tried to order steak and chips at around 9.30pm the menu finished at 10pm. They said no its closed now, another man qas complaining so another waitor sorted it out so we all got our meals. My husband went to the bar (waiting to be served) to hear another member of staff come out saying "you shouldnt have given it to them, it cant go through the till now ". It made us feel very unwanted and spoilt our stay. I then found we were in a room outside which i am not most comfortable with so asked politley if there was anything atall inside- the man on the reception which had changed from the previous staff said "NO". That was the whole sentence!!! Overall clean in the bedroom, other than an old shower curtain which you woulsnt want to touch!
it was fantastic, good service from start to finish of my holidays.
the hilton at manchester airport was that good i`ve told all my friends.
leaving the car with them and having no hassle on my flight date.......................i`ll say again fantasticccccccccccccccccc
If you want a goods night sleep don't stop in room 65 (think it was that number). Its right next to the lift shaft, so after the lights and telly go off, all you hear is the lift going up and down until everyone has gone to bed. After a while the noise twindles into the background, but only after about an hour or so. Didn't stop for breakfast has had an early flight, so up and off to the airport using the hotels transfer service, which was very efficient, unfortunately can't say the same for the return transfer pick up. I rang the number given to me by the reception to say we were in the arrivals hall, I was told to stay by the information desk and the driver would be in to collect us shortly. We stood there for 10 mins, and as I wondered over to the window I saw the transfer bus disappearing down the road. I rang the hotel and they apologised and said he would be back in 10 mins. So stood another 10 mins, rang the reception again to which they said he would be 20 mins. I wasn't happy, so they said to go to the taxi company over the road and they would bring us back to the hotel on their account. Went to the taxi office who said they had to have instruction from the hotel which they had not received, so the gentleman very kindly rang the hotel. The reception said they knew nothing about it, Faulty Towers springs to mind. Eventually they authorised the taxi and we got back for our car. No apologies from the hotel reception. Will not be booking that hotel again.
As an airport hotel, this one was pleasingly easy to find - clearly visible from the road after a long journey. However, it was very difficult then to find a parking space. We eventually parked on a double yellow line and moved the car in the morning. By this time, our nerves were getting frayed. They became all the more so when we had to queue for a long time to check in. There was one very pleasant but hopelessly hardpressed receptionist for a very large hotel - clearly inadequate. The room was adequate (although we had to ring for a second mug) and the hopper bus to the terminal worked well. The overall price was moderate. So overall your option of "so so" pretty well sums it up.
The Luton airport Holiday Inn is okay, but bring a few of your own favourite drinks along if you want to avoid high bar charges.
It was a little nerve racking at the Holiday Inn M1 South as there was a group of very inebriated Orangeman from Ulster singing King Willy songs. However, they were much more civilized at the very good breakfast. Good quality & as much as you wanted.
A warm welcome from reception staff, room was larger than average for London hotel accomodation. Excellent little touches at the Crown Plaza hotel, Lavender oil for pillow to give a good nights sleep without that heavy head you get from other medications. I awake refreshed and ready for the long journey ahead.
Restaurant was efficient and good quality food was served with a friendly smile from staff.
Stayed one night, and had a meal in the lounge which was very nicely prepared, and was reasonably priced. Didn't know we were travelling from T5 when I booked it! Took a taxi to T5.
Long walk back via train (be carefull to change otherwise Paddington here we come). No lift to car Park, so had to carry bags down stairs - not as fit as I used to be.
Very pleasant stay.
Very efficient at reception, large, clean modern family room, safe and nearby parking. Taxis to and from the airport were prompt and made the whole transfer very painless. All at a fair price for a Family room and a weeks parking.
We chose this package as had a very early flight. Quick check in at the hotel and then car taken round to the car park in the same evening so no rushing about in the morning. Hotel was perfect as 1 minute from terminal.
I have never left my car at an airport hotel before. There was a convenient space 30 yards from the entrance. We had a great room with 2 large, comfortable beds. We enjoyed a light supper in the informal restaurant. Concierge obtained a taxi for us promptly in the morning. When we returned, we were able to drive straight out with no delays.
Hotel room was nice and with 10 days car parking included great value
No problems the parking at the hotel and long stay car parks worked well. The Hotel itself in the communal areas was clean and tidy. However the hotel room itself was in need redecoration, but was clean.
Overall a very good value service that I would recommend.
had an excellent overnight stay, the staff were extremly efficent, the room was clean and comfotable, the food was very good and bar service excellent.
would highly recommend this hotel.
Used this service and it was brilliant. A very peacefully start to the holiday and efficient return. All in all an extremely good value service. We will do it again without hesitation.
When we arrived at Sofitel Gatwick it was a bit confusing to know where to drive in for the Park and Fly, and also what sort of ticket we would need. We then found it rather inconvenient to get to the hotel door as there was no sign of a lift. We ended up walking down several flights of steps into a rather unattractive surface parking area. We felt there should be a direct link from the car park to the airport reception area. The car park looked a bit like a building site. Once installed in the hotel we found everything very comfortable. The arrangements for picking up the car at the end of the stay were extremely easy, although when we put the ticket in the machine it didn't work, and we had to call the help desk! We would certainly use Park and Fly at Sofitel Gatwick again.
Russ Hill Hotel good value for the stay a price and 15 days parking. Maple parking service, picking up the car from the hotel and delivering it to arrivals, only 15minutes after the call from the baggage claim was excelent.
The accommodation was very welcoming, staff were polite and the chance to relax before queing etc in the airport was much appreciated. We had a couple of meals in the catering department and were very happy with the food and service. you ought to try it when you go away.
The food available in the evening was terrible and expensive, there was no sky tv do couldn't watch any football
Breakfast adequate
The room was clean and comfortable.
We were very happy with the service we received and would use them again.
From booking to reception , accommodation to return to pick up car we were delighted with the service . We would recommend the Nomandy for all leaving on holiday from Glasgow Airport.
as above transfer to and from airport excellent
Ramada. Room was ok but food was very poor and my partner had an upset stomach by the morning. It didnt help that there was a wedding reception, so it was really busy and noisy when we just wanted to relax. The fire alarm went off at 6.00am and no body knew what to do, it was over 20 minutes before everyone came out and because of the chaos we ended up paying for a taxi to get us to the airport.
Used this service for our honeymoon, £59 for a room, secure parking for 10 days and a taxi to and from the airport. Bargain.
The hotel & parking was very well organised & went completely without a hitch but the drinks prices in the hotel were extortionate.
the hotel was in a good position with easy access to the airport. All staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Our third bed had not been made up but this was dealt with speedily and with a profuse apology. meals available late and parking simple.
My experience of airport hotels ranges from the very impressive to the absolutely dreadful and, sadly, there is often very little between the two on price.
My stay consisted of secure parking, overnight stay and transport to and from the Gatwick North terminal. All components of this service were both easy to follow and professional.
The confirmation I received included full address, which made it easy to find. Check in was prompt and the room I stayed in really was great. The car drop off was simple and quick. The transfer to the airport the following morning fast and cheap. I could not have asked for a better service, and all done with a smile!
Hilton East Midlands - booked park and fly inclusive of 15 nights parking. Good value (until you try to buy a drink from the bar or eat a meal!) Seems to me they keep the room prices down and make it up by charging extortionate prices for food and drink. It's a shame because this really is a good hotel. The room was spacious and clean. The staff were friendly and efficient, and the bus service to the airport was faultless. Come on Hilton - I know you've got a captive audience but your bar/restaurant prices are daylight robbery!! £10 for a bog standard glass of wine??!! Get real!
The hotel we stayed, The White House near gatwick was in a good location within Horley. Unfortunately, when we woke in the morning myself and my Husband were covered in bed bugs bites. It made me feel disgusting and could only wear certain clothes on holiday because of how bad we were bitten. My Husband had a total of 60 bites on his back and arms. We knew it was bed bugs as we found them in the morning. As we left the hotel at 3.45am there was no one to leave a complaint with. For £75 a night this is very unacceptable and there was no hairdryer in the room. I wouldn't recommend anyone to stay in this hotel and we will be going back to the Days Inn in the future.
Perhaps we could suggest improved directions to hotel when within the airport/NEC complex. Be prepared for expensive taxi ride from airport back to hotel.
Hotel was simple and basic, ok for 1 night.
Parking was bad, we were luckly to find somewhere and then worried that as the cars were all parked badly, that we may get hit or blocked in (you keep your keys).
Wouldn't go back, as the parking is so bad.
Wonderful hotel, 3 course meal was top quality, breakfast was great and parking thrown in at this fabulous price. Set in a lovely location as well. Can't say enough nice things. Loved it and will defo use again.
ALL SATISFACTORY,QUICK AND EASY CHECK-IN NO PROBLEM CHECKING OUT.
ALTHOUGH £3.50 FOR A BOTTLE OF WATER IS A LITTLE SILLY IF IT WAS £1.50 YOU MIGHT SELL SOME BUT ALL IT DOES IS MAKE PEOPLE ANNOYED.
OTHER THAN THAT VERY GOOD AND WOULD STAY AGAIN.
Hotel and parking was excellent value for money. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. The staff where extremely polite and very helpful. The parking was great as we managed to get the car into the Airparks car park the night we arrived instead of the next morning which made it so much easier as we just went from the hotel straight to airport. I would most definitely recommend this hotel and parking to others
Hotel very convenient to airport, staff friendly and efficient, good value for money on breakfast and evening meal options. Hotel room spotless.
Our reservation was a shot in the dark -- and it worked out perfectly. Not only did we get a decent hotel, but an upgraded one -- at no additional charge, because the original hotel sold out their parking lot! Holiday Extras couldn't have been more helpful, more assuring, more exacting than they were. I will surely use their service again and again.
The hotel is a little gold mine and combined with the parking was a good deal! They could do with spending some of their profits on a lick of paint! Our room was tiny abd dated but it did the job, I would stay there again and take advantage of the parking. Has a nice little bar and staff were very friendly.
Not impressed with the hotel as the bedroom was too hot and we were unable to turn the temperature down. The duty manager did bring a fan which helped but really only moved the hot air around. They were unable to find an alternative room for us. The bathroom door was off it's runners and unable to be opened and closed satisfactorily. In all it was a waste of money staying at the hotel.
Our flight, to Athens, was scheduled to leave in the early morning. We were apprehensive about such an early flight as we would need to leave home during the middle of the night to get to park the car and then to Heathrow for the required check in time. We then found the Thistle Hotel Heathrow. We traveled to the hotel mid afternoon the day before our flight. The greeting from reception was friendly and professional and gave us a fast check in. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. After unwinding from our journey over a cup or two of tea, we had a leisurely dinner in the large restaurant overlooking Heathrow Airport. The service was efficient and unhurried, as we wanted it and the food was tasty and seemed to have been freshly prepared. A comfortable night's sleep followed and we ready to catch the Hoppa bus to Terminal 5 the following morning. We had pre-paid the bus and for four days car parking at the hotel, so on our return from Athens it was an easy return to the hotel to collect our car. In fact, from getting off the plane it took us just 35 minutes to clear the airport, collect our car and get on the the M25. We would be happy to stay at the Thistle Heathrow in the future.
