Considering buying one? Don't.
Alienware are owned by Dell, who in my experience have offered me horrible customer service, so I can say I expect the same from their Alienware line of PCs.
The computers are STUPIDLY expensive. These idiots are the primary reason everyone thinks PC gaming is so expensive. My current rig costs £1000 and easily runs everything at max, built by pcspecialist.co.uk. Alienware charge and extra 50% of that price for A SLIGHTLY WORSE SPECIFICATION, not to mention they don't give the brand of parts like the PSU or RAM, suggesting it is the cheapest crap they could find (Alienware don't make the parts).
Sure it has pretty lights, but do you REALLY want to spend £1000 on pretty lights?
Wow, if you are seriously looking for a stunning looking and high spec gaming pc then this is the place to go. This website is amazingly cool and it is possible to spend hours just customising machines for fun, even the avatars come preloaded and with a choice of design. Quite simply, you get what you pay for with one of these machines and a fabulous after care service will keep you coming back for more.
I ordered a very expensive laptop from alienware about 3 years ago, which in all honestly did exactly as it was supposed to, I was informed of it's progress every step of the way (build phase, packaging phase, shipping phase) and it all went rather smoothly. Customer service was great too, replied to email same or next day and were generally pretty helpful.
However the site is now a Dell Computers site and I never have nor never would order from Dell due to the horror stories I've heard about them. So today I'm really not sure at all if I would order from Alienware again...
The new site compared to the old one is awful, I tried finding a page for Alienware replacement parts and kept getting redirected to the same, unrelated page.
