Booked via Alpharooms the week before we travelled and a few days before our holiday we were contacted with alternative accommodation because they had overbooked the hotel we initially booked. Obviously changes in accommodation a couple of days before a holiday cause unwanted stress so this was a clear negative. The alternative accommodation that Alpharooms offered was good however so it was a reasonable recovery but they were lucky as had that hotel not been available we would have been stuck with a refund and nowhere to stay. Also the transfer we booked via alpharooms was poor, we were waiting 40 minutes at our destination before we were picked up and on the return transfer we were dropped at the airport nearly 4 hours before our flight which is ridiculous.
Overall Alpharooms were reasonably priced but not that reliable in our experience. They did recover well with the alternative accommodation however I think this was more by luck than management. They also need to re-assess their transfer partners I think aswell.
