Amazon are very reliable but in the past i have had packages broken and not bothered returning them as i dont want to wait another week to play it. i dont think amazon damaged the parcel but their postal service whoever it was a while ago especially after watching the dispatches channel 4 show where they showed how some postal depot's couldnt care less about the parcels.
amazon has a very clear website with lots of products which consist of literally anything you can buy. their website's navigation i find easier than any other website i have ever used and the search function is very accurate. competitive pricing and good packaging on their products with one exception.
i also lost a parcel with amazon which i had to get replaced.
Order item, never arrived contacted seller who refused to refund asked me to wait a few more days, OK waited still nothing contacted amazon, told I have to wait 2weeks for them to look into this, funny that didn't take them 2wks to take my money. Beware of ordering from CRANE and STODOTT. Amazon don't care about the needs of the customer. 21 emails.4 phone calls still no refund.AMAZON YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED. UPDATE just found out this seller has 5 orders 4 of them got neg review whats going on how can amazon allow them the trade?????
I have been ordering from Amazon since ages and there is no issue with its orders. Their prices are competitive and items are good. If you are just the buyer, you will never know how much seller has to pay to them for listing the item. But as a buyer, I am totally satisfied with their services. Keep it up
I have looked into your account, and I can see that your order was placed with Kryonet, a Seller on Amazon Marketplace. I hope you will understand that purchases made through Amazon.co.uk Marketplace work a little bit differently to our online store. Orders made through Amazon.co.uk Marketplace are strictly between the buyer and the third- party seller.
I am unable to advise if the seller is willing to refund your return postage but I would expect that according to our guidelines, if the return of item to the seller is due to error on the seller's part, your returns postage should be reimbursed.

I bought a luminox watch from amazon.co.uk the money went to them. They passes the order to amazon.com usa who ordered the watch from a mrwatch USA.
The watch appeared authentic and came with the authentic worldwide warranty card etc.
After some time and within the 2 year luminox warranty period the watch needed warranty repair and using the luminox warranty card went to the approved luminox UK
Repairer. They say the amazon and mrwatch are not approved retailers for luminox and the warranty is invalid... I had to pay.
I complained to amazon online but got referred to mrwatch USA ...they said their watches under USA terms are not covered by the worldwide warranty.
So I asked luminox who said by e mail that mrwatch was not an approved retailer and they could not guarantee the watch was authentic .
As I considered that if the luminox watch was not covered by the luminox worldwide warranty it may not be able to be considered, authentic.?
After many e mail and telephone calls amazon gave me a Slough UK addess to whom I wrote 5th April 2013. Needless to say no reply.
I,m onto trading standards and now citizens advice and others. I have some advice.
One first step it to get a reply from amazon .... So how do you get a reply??
Does anyone know?
I,ve bought from amazon over the years and now have stopped until this is resolved.
I've been using amazon since 2000. They have delivered to me in Holland, Pakistan and now Denmark. It's a very well thought out website, the customer service (although i don't like the fact it is in India), is good.
The only downside and why Amazon lost a star is because the criteria for getting free super saver delivery are v complicated and it does not state on each product page if it is available to deliver internationally like some others do (house of Fraser, John Lewis for example). Also some of the product descriptions are not very clear/well written/informative.
I did order two dashbord cameras from dx.com and they never came, + they took my money...
Now I did order the same cameras from Amazone, they where send the next day and should arrive in dk after 5 days.
Hey, I will pay for that anytime - so let´s forget the cheating chinees homepages and use the reliable EU pages.'
I order from amazon regularly (as I guess all busy working people who have zero time for leisure shopping). I was impressed how they handled problems that I had with them recently. Basically, my delivery got lost 3 times (!). Not their fault though, happens in my office building. So they reacted to my emails within hours and would send it again and again and again until I finally got it. No additional charges.
if you order or pre order an item if it doesn't turn up they do absolutely nothing this has happened to me a few times in a few years worth of shopping there. but other than that they are very reliable fast and cheap!!
I've become kind of addicted of buying from Amazon, I used by just books from them but now I buy all sort of things, shoes and clothing amongst the things I buy the most right now, every time I've been very satisfied with my purchases, the delivery has always been as expected and the quality too, delivery is always on time and customer support is superb.
Amazon does not provide a fair system when it comes to mediating feedback - zero support for sellers, presumably because they want people to buy from themselves which is why customers can not rate the bit "fulfilled by Amazon" but can rate sellers...how convenient
I buy an awfui lot of stuff from Amazon (too much if I'm honest). I do so because Amazon's reputation as far as I'm concerned is 2nd to none. Products arrive on time (or earlier) are exactly as described and any problems are immediately sorted out to my complete satisfaction. I always check other suppliers for price & availability before ordering, but usually end up ordering from Amazon anyway. I have NEVER had a totally bad experience with anything purchased from Amazon.
This is a bit sad. Normally Amaozon works fine, but not every time. I bought a Kensignton iPad keyboard/stand. The Kensington keyboard and stand works fine. However, the Amazon.co.uk site sold me a keyboard from a German shop without letting me know what that means. The keyboard is german, and it is not even a QWERTY keyboard, but a QWERTZ. Never seen that before. I am dissapointed that this was not highlighted by Amazon.
I spend a small fortune on CDs, DVDs, Blurays and games and whilst I sometimes have a look around for a better price and service, I invariably come back to Amazon. They have the best selection, they normally have the best price to boot and on the rare occasions when postage goes astray, they are more than happy to replace your missing items.
I can't fault these guys, deliver everytime and as promised.
Only issues I have is with the courier companies. I've had about 3 or 4 different ones and most of them are good but sometimes I'll get an item that goes missing.
However Amazon always sort it out. Amazing.
I've used Amazon.co.uk a lot in the past, primarily for books. Their catalog is simply amazing. However I'm not a big fan of their integration of Amazon market place, If I wanted to buy from a third party I'd go to their website. Furthermore it's rather hard to figure out which merchants on the marketplace that ship outside the UK and which don't.
Buying electric things from Amazon has also been something I have not been impressed by. Most things are sold with the plugs that are only used in the UK. This is fair enough as it is after all Amazon.co.uk. I just wish they'd specify which products are with UK plugs and which are with continental plugs, because the pictures often depict continental plugs while the product comes with UK plugs and the description rarely says it (I have a fair amount of converts so not as big an issue as it used to be).
Lastly over the last year I've noticed that the Super Saver delivery option has become the Super Slow delivery option. It only used to be the actual transit time that used to be slightly slower than paid postage. However now the dispatch phase has gone from 12-24 hours from order was placed to around 48 hours before orders are dispatch.
Its especially the deterioration of the Super Saver option that is causing me to place more and more of my orders with other sites when possible because without the postage price negates any saving and often raises the price to a level where order sites (and in some cases even store retailers) are cheaper than amazon.co.uk.
Had a delivery problem and asked them (Amazon) if they had a policy on inconvenience. They are not capable of answering other than by long formulaic irrelevant emails which obfuscate and deflect responsibility away from them. It is between buyer and seller apparently, nothing to do with them; no policy, no opinion. You wait in; it doesn't arrive; hard cheese.
So here is the advice: check prices etc. on Amazon by all means and then go direct to the sellers website, (if necessary negotiate the same price) i.e. buy direct from the seller but probably only if it is over a hundred quid and you are using a credit card which will cover any meltdown.
Amazon just gets in the way by trumpeting about its marvellous but nonexistent dispute resolution scheme and then removing email addresses from correspondence (and not forwarding tracking numbers apparently, so the seller said); weird!
My order got cancelled - refund seems to be OK, I guess they have had plenty of practice. All mildly unpleasant and a complete waste of time. I'll avoid them in the future; I seem to get on better with eBay.

I have to say I find Amazon the best source for most things. Few high street shops even come close to the customer service offered by Amazon and even those that try (JL etc) can't compete with range and price which is incredible.
Amazon have recently been swinging prices wildly though so you have to time it right to maximise benefit. I use a price tracker site such as camel camel camel which gives an insight on what they have been up to.
Service is excellent and even free delivery is usually within a week.
If something is wrong Amazon will always sort it. The returns process can be a bit hit and miss but if a refund does not arrive just contact them and they have never failed to help and sort it out. My only cause of friction has been Yodel failing to collect returns which wastes a day but Amazon insist on using them for return of some items - this alone losses them a star.
Service on Amazon Market Place can vary but is still usually good. Expect to pay for postage and for returns though as Amazon will not hold a reseller to account unless item has not arrived etc. This is a bit of a pain and watch out because Amazon may list a Market Place seller as first option for sale and sometimes you may not notice.
Kindle books can also be bought without risk as they are sold with a 7 day refund. This means you can make sure it is what you thought and that it suits before you lose your money. Sales at Kobo and others are final so if you bought £50 worth of text book on the strength of the limited excerpt and it does not suit with Kobo - then tough with Amazon you can simply buy another or save your money. Similar guarantees are given with Audible content (Audible are another Amazon company) where if a title isn't what you wanted then it can be returned for credit - simple. I hate DRM but at least Amazon are using it to protect content so that they can offer a return service - what is kobo's excuse?
