Amazon.co.uk does not want European customers

I have been through the last several years been an avid fan of Amazon, mainly because of their excellent service, the wide selection of items and their highly reasonable shipping costs.
What they have done now is completely incomprehensible. Last week an email was sent to their European customers that unless you have the luxury of living in the UK all Free Shipping to the continent is abolished. Previously if you ordered for more than £25 the shipping was free. If that was not bad enough the informed Europe of this policy change the day AFTER it happened.
Even though some of the items I usual buy from Amazon can be bought through other online retailers, what Amazon brought to the table was the large range of items, the speed of their delivery and being based in the EU there was no risk of being caught by customs. Being based in Sweden Amazon offered me a much larger range within English written books, video games and even toys for my children which are usually much more expensive with Swedish tax.
The best thing Amazon can do is to listen to its European customers and either bring back Free Shipping as it was before or bring back Free Shipping and raise the minimum limit from £25 to £50. As it is now Amazon automatically puts a £4.30 - £6.40 shipping fee on everything to Sweden and then adds £1.10 per kilogram. A children’s book of 32 pages that costs £3 now costs £9.59 with shipping! A DVD that costa £3 costs £7.52 with shipping! There are definitely other book and film sellers online that have perhaps higher prices than Amazon but when their prices are still lower with shipping then I am afraid Amazon has lost me as a customer.

No more free delivery to Europe

Without notice and without care, removing thousands of loyal customers over a long stretch of time with one stroke. Shame on you, Amazon.

Not so great anymore.

Amazon.co.uk used to be the best online store, but recent policy changes regarding the postage fees to Europe have made me an ex-customer.
Amazon has failed to understand that european consumers or they just don't care anymore.

Too big, too arrogant, too greedy

The way how you threated your customers in the beginning of April is barely worth of one star.

Excellent service

No other company has come as close to the service quality as Amazon.
And the prices are good.

If I could rate the people giving "Bad Service"-comments just due Amazon removing Super Saver Delivery to some European countries, I would rate them immature and ungrateful.

PS. I am myself from a country where Amazon ended the free deliveries, but I still wont stop ordering from Amazon due to GOOD SERVICE they have.

Doesn't care about loyal customers even though they claim to be #1 in customer service!

Amazon UK stopped the free Super Saver delivery to several European countries without any warning and couldn't give a reason why they did this. I used to be a loyal customer for several years but the delivery costs are now so high that it doesn't make any sense to order from Amazon UK anymore. Luckily there are other alternatives.

Bad service and lack of respect

I was a steady customer for years but they lost me after they removed the FREE Super Saver Delivery without any notice. Amazon showed that they had no respect for their customers in Europe.

Not fair

Removing the SuperSave Delivery service without any prior warning was not fair. What happened? Customers from the EU are no longer worth?
I have been your customer for 14 years. You have never disappointed me until now.
I need to find another place I can trust as I can no longer afford your prices.
It is very very sad and this atitude really bothered me because you sent me an email informing about your decision on the same day you've removed the Supersave delivery option.
I had 3 items in my shopping cart and I was forced to remove all of them due to high delivery costs.
Sorry amazon. No more. What a shame.

In the main a great service

I have been a customer of Amazon for a number of years. They almost always are very competitive on price.
If I had to be picky it would just be that on a couple of occasions Prime orders that have not been shipped for delivery for next delivery. This for me has been rare and in the main works well.

Impressive decline in quality and affordability

This store has messed up so much that I don't feel comfortable selling through them anymore. It used to be a good market place for us sellers. Now that it has implemented draconian shipping fees and the continued implementation of other subversive policies, I would advise you to take your business elsewhere.

I started supporting this company 3 years ago and invested a fair amount of time and money. In the end Amazon screws their loyal customers and as a consequence harms our business. I noticed this particular decline since they started canceling Free Super Saver Delivery last year. A lot of customers outside the UK where targeted at the time but now it was the last drop. I lost 60% of my business customers due to their change in policy and am disgusted that they didn't discuss this with their partners properly beforehand. That's enough, I will not be supporting Amazon any longer!

Destroyed my trust in the company by eliminating free deliver without any notice

Amazon.co.uk terminated it's free shipping program without any prior notice.

The new shipping prices are very high, in some case as expensive as the product that you are buying.

This is similar to an instant price hike, and it's simply absurd and disrespectful to long term clients

Bad service and lack of respect for EU customers!

Without any consideration for the EU customers, Amazon.uk decided to cancel free super saver delivery on international orders without any warning...
Well... Amazon.uk sent an e-mail... but 1 day after the FSSD ended!
The new delivery costs are ridiculous and shows how much amazon couldn't care less about EU customers!
I'll shop somewhere else!

No respect for customers

Very disappointed to find out how your treat your loyal european customers. If you need to change the super saver delivery terms, then the least you could do is give us a fair warning in advance. NOT sending an email on the day after you made the changes and without any explanation.
Extremely disappointed. Bye bye Amazon.

Dropping free shipping in Europe is a BAD mistake

The reviews here don't lie: Amazon is acting stupidly and doesn't understand the consequences for dropping free shipping. I'll never order here again.

Trust is broken

I would like also to express my absolute disappointment about the new policy of Amazon that from April 3, 2014, FREE Super Saver Delivery is no longer available for many European countries.

I have been ordering lots of products from this company during the last 3-4 years, spending hundreds of pounds every month and I have been very satisfied with the professionalism that Amazon used to have. Unfortunately starting from the 3rd of April Amazon will lose the vast majority of the regular European customers including my family.

It seems that for Amazon's management it does not matter:
- the fact that net sales increased 22% to $74.45 billion, compared with $61.09 billion in 2012 (excluding the $1.28 billion unfavorable impact from year-over-year changes in foreign exchange rates throughout the year, which means that net sales grew 24% compared with 2012).
- the fact that operating income for 2013 increased 10% to $745 million, compared with $676 million in 2012.
- the fact that the unfavorable impact from year-over-year changes in foreign exchange rates throughout the year 2013 on operating income was $29 million.
-finally that the net income for 2013 was $274 million, or $0.59 per diluted share, compared with net loss of $39 million, or $0.09 per diluted share, in 2012.

I know that Amazon, probably the biggest and most profitable online sales company (for the moment) in the world, tries to reduces costs or just tries to increases profit. This is not the first time that there have been changes in the rules that force loyal customers to pay more. But this time that's beyond the limits and I am more than sure that it is NOT the customers but Amazon itself that will hurt from this. Most of the products on Amazon are now more expensive than local retailers (it is ridiculous to pay more for delivery than the value of the product) therefore it is pointless for me and any other customer to continue ordering from this company.

This decision from the Amazon.co.uk management made me realize that they are too big, too powerful and too greedy and it's time online consumers started to support alternative online retailers in order to maintain the competitive balance. If we don't, it won't be long before Amazon are the only choice.

It turns that it is a really bad time to be an Amazon customer. Even if they will finally decide to change it back .the trust between this company and the customers is broken. What a pity..

P.S. I think it is the best time to get rid off the Amazon stocks
