If I could no stars I would! Don't buy from Amazon until they re-instate free super saver delivery!

Never under estimate the power of people power! The Amazon rating was at one point over 8! It speaks volumes at the disgust felt by people who feel let down my Amazon. Most of those very loyal customers spending hundreds and thousands every year on gifts for loved ones abroad. There are alternatives to Amazon! It takes a bit of time to hunt them down but they are out there and most no more expensive by the time you add Amazons price together with the ridiculous postage prices that they now think they can get away with. I was once a very happy customer of Amazons and recommended them to all that I knew, no more!
2 DVD's used to cost £1.44 now nearer £5. Come on Amazon, this is not customer centric pricing. Bye bye Amazon.

There still good!!

I understand people's frustration regarding the £10 qualifying shipping. I am a student and qualify for 6 months prime free. So my current view on amazon is very good. I transitioned over from eBay because of the reviews being so accurate and I felt confident I was buying a decent product. I have never had a problem with amazon delivery in the past and now that I get next day free without any restrictions on qualifying for it. It's fantastic. I suppose it's difficult for a person who has used the company a lot longer than me to stomach their new rules. Before prime it wasn't such a big deal just adding a few lower priced items to my basket.

bad customer experience

Sudden change in delivery terms disappointing

Amazon UK's sudden change in delivery terms has made it much more expensive to order from them. Will probably not shop from them until they do something about this. My email/complaint to them was also not answered... Real shame!

Bad service

Cancelled Super Saver delivery to many EU without a warning. Bad communication and now too expensive.

Bad Customer Relations

They sent an email on the 4th of April to their customers advising the Free European Super Saver delivery from Amazon UK had ended effective April 3rd. In response to numerous complaints, they just send form letters. Absolutely no loyalty to customers that have been loyal to them!

Amazon doesn't pay attention to their customers

They sent every Amazon UK customer outside of the UK an email that they are going to stop giving customers the option for FREE super saver delivery outside of the UK days after they disabled the option.

USED to be fab (PAST TENSE) - NO RESPECT for customers NOW.

Amazon used to be a great company and I was a loyal customer for many, many years because of excellent prices and superb customer service. But I live in Portugal and last week they stopped Free Super Saver Delivery. Now obviously all companies change their rules every now and again but the thing that annoyed me the most was that they sent me an email the day AFTER Free Super Saver Delivery ended saying that they were FOREWARNING me that it ended the day BEFORE!!! This shows a complete DISRESPECT for their many LOYAL customers. They haven't even tried to meet their customers half way. They could have raised the qualifying spend level from £25 to £50 or they could have started charging a flat fee of £5 per delivery. They could have tried asking their customers what they would find acceptable. But no, they just suddenly stop all Free Super Saver Deliveries and implement postage charges which are astronomical, i.e. in some instances, the postage costs far more than the items themselves!!! When other companies such as M&S, etc, are expanding the number of countries they will deliver to Free Of Charge, it seems completely ludicrous of Amazon to be restricting the number of countries, as they are currently doing, and doing so in a completely off hand and abrupt manner!

For the first time I'm very disapointed in Amazon.

Why would they do this? I often bought MORE products to qualify for Super Saver Delivery. Now there's no incentive to buy from Amazon, on the contrary as the shipping rates are absurd.

Used to be good, but not anymore.

This site used to have a great selection of products at affordable and competitive prices. Costumer support was diligent and effective.

Suddenly, they've introduced new outrageous delivery charges with no explanation, authoritatively informed their customers AFTER the changes were introduced and customer support refuses to provide any answers other than a pre-set script.

After this misconduct, I can no longer consider this site to be trustworthy.

they ended super saver delivery and they are charging preposterous shipping fees

first they bought book depository. prices went up and deliveries either took too long or they got lost along the way (i suspect that the fact that royal mail was privatized has something to do with it as well. prices go up and quality of service goes down the drain). then they ended super saver delivery. yet again, prices went up and quality came tumbling down... bottom line, you pay more and you get a far worse service.

Deceptive

I have had repeated problems being incorrectly charged for shipping and after complaining about it they now just stopped the free shipping service to Europe. The online customer service personnel are very friendly, polite, and mostly helpful, but it seems the company has not been giving them all the information as they sometimes have different regulations for the free shipping. In each case they refunded me the shipping and were very apologetic and friendly, but the company management should fix the issue in a better way than just withdrawing the shipping.

Complete and utter disrespect for European customers. The new outrageous delivery charges are making me look around for alternative suppliers. I used to buy virtually everything from Amazon. No more. Bye-bye Amazon

As an usual customer, I can only show my disappointment by the latest decision that Amazon has made about Free Super Saver Delivery to some Europe destinations, with no previous warning at all.

Amazon in Europe does not want European customers

I have been through the last several years been an avid fan of Amazon, mainly because of their excellent service, the wide selection of items and their highly reasonable shipping costs.
What they have done now is completely incomprehensible. Last week an email was sent to their European customers that unless you have the luxury of living in the UK all Free Shipping to the continent is abolished. Previously if you ordered for more than £25 the shipping was free. If that was not bad enough the informed Europe of this policy change the day AFTER it happened.
Even though some of the items I usual buy from Amazon can be bought through other online retailers, what Amazon brought to the table was the large range of items, the speed of their delivery and being based in the EU there was no risk of being caught by customs. Being based in Sweden Amazon offered me a much larger range within English written books, video games and even toys for my children which are usually much more expensive with Swedish tax.
The best thing Amazon can do is to listen to its European customers and either bring back Free Shipping as it was before or bring back Free Shipping and raise the minimum limit from £25 to £50. As it is now Amazon automatically puts a £4.30 - £6.40 shipping fee on everything to Sweden and then adds £1.10 per kilogram. A children’s book of 32 pages that costs £3 now costs £9.59 with shipping! A DVD that costa £3 costs £7.52 with shipping! There are definitely other book and film sellers online that have perhaps higher prices than Amazon but when their prices are still lower with shipping then I am afraid Amazon has lost me as a customer.

Totally let its customers down.

I was a very happy Amazon UK customer until they suddenly stopped offering free delivery to all European countries (except Ireland). It wasn't the fact they ended free delivery but the way they did it: all non-UK / Ireland customers received an announcement they stopped offering free delivery the day AFTER it went into effect!
This was a very rude thing to do and the company should've given their customers the opportunity to order the things on their wish lists or even the stuff in their basket free of delivery charges. Most people who complained about it received a generic email and nothing was done to explain why this was handled in such a rude manner.
The disastrous way they handled this makes me avoid Amazon UK for as long as possible; even if they'd re-instate free delivery I will prefer to buy my stuff at other online stores. Stores that DO care about their customers.
