I've shopped with Amazon UK for well over ten years. They were always the first and only place for me to shop online. Reliable deliveries, good prices, 1st rate customer service.
Over the last 18 plus months they've deteriorated to the point where I now will only choose them as a last resort.
The final straw is a back street bunch of cowboys called Amazon Logistics, who they now use for a lot of their deliveries. These pathetic excuses for couriers don't make those deliveries, tell blatant lies and try to blame the customer for their shabby service.
Contacting Amazon Customer Service is like dealing with robots. They don't speak English well, in fact some of them are barely understandable. They just repeat the same scripted responses. It's not them personally to blame, it's Amazon's fault for providing customer service on the cheap.
Amazon Prime? A rip-off, a joke. They expect you to pay £49 a year for "guaranteed" and "free" next day delivery. Then they just send your orders using standard speed delivery services!
Prices? I used to believe Amazon were able to offer the lowest. Not so. It only takes a Google search to find other reputable online shops that beat Amazon on price and provide fast efficient delivery using professional couriers!
My advice, based on years of experience and truthfully many thousands of pounds spent at Amazon UK, is to shop around. Don't fall for the Amazon hype. They are not the cheapest, they are not reliable any longer and they are a long way anymore from being the best.
Even eBay is now more reliable than Amazon UK has become.
Amazon you may think you are big, but you are losing customers by your own non delivery by your own company and taking money and not shipping goods.
You ar getting worse and do not blame sellers, this is you as lots of customers and company's are getting fed up with your unhelpful ness and non deliverys
It is time consuming to get Amazon to send you a check for a sale made on Amazon. It takes 90 days after you have fisished an completely foolish payment procedure, and you have to remind Amazon - after 90 days - that Amazon shall send the check.

I have been using Amazon for many years, I recently started using Amazon prime, and have been amazed at the speed and efficiency of delivery. The reviews on site make one more confident on purchases before hand and on the few occasions I've had any problem with the order Amazon have been wonderful at sorting it out no questions asked. I wish all online companies where the same.
Amazon have a great choice of stuff, no complaints regarding their customer service. However, because they choose to use such a rubbish courier service, Citylink. I have had to mark them down. Change your ways as you are losing customers!
I've never had a problem with Amazon and I enjoy their catalogue. A lot of other firms could learn from Amazon's example.
Had to solve an issue with a seller using Amazon, and the customer service to solve the dispute was top notch. I was impressed at how Amazon dealt with the dispute and I definitely feel more safe (with regards to customer rights) using the site.
Bought some thing from crane and stodott though amazon. Goods never arrived emailed them told to wait a few more days, did that still nothing. Amazon want me to wait two weeks while they look into this I can't believe how bad am being treated. I have phoned emailed done everything to to get my money back' the company won't reply to mine or Amazon's emails. There never waited 2wks to take my money so how come I have to wait for them to think about given back my money. All this is making my illness worse. I never want to use amazon again
The UK version, is like the FR version. They are both great, with good product.
But you can trust this website with closes eyes.
When I don't find a product in the FR version I directly looking into the UK version for the product. It's a great subtitute for us french buyers.
I hate Amazon, I had £1800 voucher balance in my account and they closed it, the reason is I bought too much! I did buy some products for businss purpose, and no complain if they closed my account, the problem is they never return the money to me, I called them many times, every time they said account specialist(they called themselves specialist, funny) will contact me in 24 hours, but I never got reply on time. After many attempts, one high ranking officials replied me, she said, Amazon can not refund me, they will refund the money to the original owner of the voucher, I asked them, I got salary from my boss, if M&S refunds me and tell me, they will refund my boss because he paid me, is this funny, then Amazon keep silence. A company does not pay any tax to UK government deserve bankrupcy in near future.
Also their call center is based in India, very rude.
I paid for next day delivery and it didn't arrive by the stated time on City Link's website so I phoned them and they promised delivery by 9pm, but it didn't happen. When I phoned Amazon's customer services dept they were as much use as a chocolate teaspoon. Will only use as a last resort until they stop using Shitty Link
I order a lot of things online, and occasionally try other Companies.
However, despite my disagreement in their UK Tax affairs, I still keep coming back. You get what you pay for and in a good time.
The only time there was a problem (1 out of 200+ orders) the issue was emotive to me (wrong shoes for my Wedding) but sorted out eventually. The size was not transferred from US size to UK size and 3 pairs sent with the same problem.
Other than that I am very happy with the price and delivery of items.
Other Companies just do not compare. In terms of online multi channel shopping, size counts; and no one is bigger than Amazon.
Recently purchased an expensive Canon printer. Unfortunately the scanner engine was faulty. Contacte Amazon. Amazon ring you back immediately. The very same day a new order was raised for a replacement. And, a returns label for the faulty printer was also sent.
The next day I received the replacement, and the same delivery company collected the faulty printer.
How Good is that!! Thank you Amazon.
Never ever had an issue with Amazon, at one point I even ordered the wrong item (MY FAULT) and I told them the situation and they said if I paid the shipping costs they'd replace the item for what I needed (amazing).
Delivery times have always been promised, sometimes even quicker than I put down. Currently waiting on my das keyboard (3-18 day wait), but knowing Amazon it probably will be around 3-10.
Will always recommend these guys, their prices are getting damn good as well, also with Black Friday coming up (in the uk too? awesome) I'll be purchasing some goodies for the holidays.

There is not much I can say to critise this company other than my buying experience has been very nice. The website itself it easy to use and the process of purchasing is very straight forward. I would like to see more information provided on the product specifics if possible in the future, but their customer service advisors are very easy to talk to, professional and informative anyhow.
I think Amazon are really customer focused. It's the place I used to get all my CD's cause if Amazon wasn't the cheapest, I could get them in the new and used section.
When purchasing a CD from the new and used section, Amazon take responsibility for it, even though its coming from a seller on Amazon. I've done this hundreds of times without a hitch, but on one occasion, the CD never arrived. I told Amazon about it and they refunded me in full EVEN THOUGH MY PAYMENT WENT TO A SELLER ON AMAZON!!!! I thought this was excellent, I never have to worry about buying from an unknown seller on Amazon ever again. Your totally protected!
The only problem I got now is that I only have a cash card (cannot use it online for payments) and Amazon do not take Paypal. If they could start accepting Paypal I'd be very happy. Although there are charges for a seller when using paypal and at the moment they are passing their savings onto us.
Maybe they could find an easier way to pay if you do not have a credit/debit card?
Bought loads of things from amazon, always quick postage. Ive had one problem (almost 1 year after i bought the item it got faulty) live support was quick and very helpful, returned item (amazon paid) and was refunded in full as it was a known problem with the device. All in all very good site with competative prices. Will keep on using ;-)
I've been using Amazon since they first opened, I've bought shoes, books, dvd's, electronics, etc and never had a problem. I've returned items with no problem, customer services is completely on-line and I usually have a response same day, all in all, they do exactly what they are supposed to with utmost efficiency.
Amazon now have so many international sellers, you may want to purchased a UK branded product to support the UK seller but end up receiving the item from another international country.
I used Amazon recently to find Birthday presents for my son. I was very impressed at how cheap the prices were compared to other sites! I ordered in the morning and by the following day I had already recieved 2 of my items. I got the others within 2 days. Very quick. Would definatly reccomend to anyone!!
I have used Amazon twice during the last few months. It is not a website I visit a lot but have been able to purchase what I wanted and received excellent service and delivery.
My only gripe is the website itself. If you are a user of the 'other' online auction site you may find Amazon a bit disorganised to use. You would expect the product details to be with the product as opposed to lower down the page under 'Special Offers and Product Promotions' and 'Customers Who Bought This Item Also Bought' sections. The pages seem fussy and over complicated.
Just wanted to say im a big lover of amazon, excellent products, great prices, helpful customer services. But I have also been very impressed with amazons kindle store recently when shopping for books. They have a vast selection and found some great reads for free also. Amazon just keep getting better and better, and if you haven't purchased anything from them before, I would definately recommend them all the way. :-)
