I awaited delivery, paying attention to the door, when I heard the delivery of my general mail. In it was a delivery failure notice from PAC. The delivery man did not knock, presuming I was out, he only posted the notice. As it is Friday, I now have to wait a further three days because the delivery guy was having a bad day. I don't see why I should be penalised for his having a low paid job, an ugly/no girlfriend and low mortality rate. Driving around delivering packages is a poor job, I understand they are frustrated, but don't take it out on me. I will be using the delivery guy's job as an example to my children of the importance of a balanced diet and an education. "Kids, if you don't try hard at school, take drugs and have a poor diet, you could end up wasting the time of others by working for minimum wage, driving a van, and not delivering people's parcels because your embarrassment about your impotancy. They have my pity.
After reading the reviews for APC Overnight on this sight I was a little apprehensive.
However, I was kept up to date with my order via the company website. My order was delivered on the day expected and at 8.02am so probably the first drop of the day which meant I could carry on my day a normal without waiting around for said delivery.
The package was delivered in near excellent condition to my door. The driver was polite if not that chatty however, that is the only reason would not have awarded 5 stars, but would prefer that than extremely / overly friendly and late and / or damaged goods.
Based on this, my first and only experience of APC Overnight, I would use them again.
Same old thing I was left a card as I was not in so when online to rearrange the delivery for two days later which I did then sat in nearly all day then had an email from the company I purchased off to say the couriers have been in touch and they tried to deliver to you a couple of days ago but you weren't in so left a card but the courier said they will hold your item till tomorrow so I phoned them and they said I had never tried to rearrange. "BLOODY LIARS"
I arrived home to a "sorry we missed you card" the card provided two options, to call to arrange re-delivery, the other to use the online re booking service. As the offices were closed ( it was 8pm) i was able to re-book online, my order arrived the next day as requested.
I have been told the parcel would have arrive yesterday at my address. I took a day off from work to wait for that, I made sure the driver had both mine and my husbands phone number. After a full day, nothing happened. The ebay seller said they contacted them and it will arrive today, another day of for this purpose, just great. They did not come as well, and when i called the guy was lying in my face that they have been to my house yesterday, and that they will come back on Monday in between 8 and 4; not even having the common sense to give me a gap of hours so i can organise my day. After all the mistakes and lies they've done they expect to spend another 8 hours waiting for them. Complete lack of common sense and professionalism from these people. Never again I do not want to hear from them.
Later on note: It is truly strange that the vast majority oh their five stars reviews all came on the same date 30th October. Doesn't seem to be organic development at all given the rest of their reviews and their distribution. Just sayin'
I have been in business for over 10 years and good delivery services are important to my customers and myself , I can't afford my customers to complain about late deliveries and rude drivers as this has an impact on my business and when trying to sort out problems with them they did not seem to be interested.
I am in business, and over the years I have used many different carriers, I can say with all honesty, that APC, who I have now used for the past six plus years, are by far the best, and most efficient carrier company that I have ever dealt with, their staff, both at my local depot, and also the collection drivers are always very friendly, courteous and extremely helpful. My deliveries always arrive the next day, and I have never experienced a problem with a delivery getting lost, or going astray, or even arriving on a later date than scheduled.
I think that the recipient of a parcel that has been despatched to them as 'next day' delivery, must realise that means any time between 8.00am and 5pm, unless an extra fee has been paid by the sender for a timed delivery. Drivers when their vehicle has been loaded with the days deliveries, can't possibly be expected to be able to accommodate everyone's 'At home' time slots, darting backwards and forwards on their days planned route. The simple answer would be to leave a note on the front door when you are expecting a delivery, and you know that you won't be in, asking the driver to leave it with a 'friendly' neighbour, the driver can't leave it in the porch, or elsewhere, as a signature is always required, for proof of delivery.
From my own experience with APC, I would take some of the negative comments listed here, with a very large pinch of salt!
I repeat APC is an excellent company to deal with, and I would recommend them to anyone, either sending or receiving parcels.
I stayed in my house for a week waiting for my packages. Did not leave the house at all that week . I contacted the company who I had bought the items of and they said they would deal with it..Apparently the packaged had been signed for by 2 strangers at the front of my house ? After many phone calls to apc-overnight the delivery driver arrived at my door.He said he had delivered to two lads ( funny I leave with my partner and young son ). The next day a friend arrived at 6.30pm at 7.30 pm she went to leave and there on my door step in the pouring rain were two boxes .What a surprise two weeks late ,their were meant to be three boxes ( funny these boxes had already been signed for ?). The boxes had been opened and items damage . The box missing contained all the higher value items (strangely). The courier dose not want to know , wont even send me a official company complaints form. Small claims court here I come !
After reading some of these reviews I was worried when I ordered an item from eBay that was due to be sent via APC Overnight. I need not have worried, item arrived next working day as promised, undamaged and early in the day. Driver was extremely polite and efficient.
I arrived home from afternoon work at 5.00pm ( having been at home from early morning until 12.00pm hoping i would get my parcel ) to find a "sorry we missed you '' on my doormat i looked up the phone number which was not on the card ! They had completely ignored my request to leave with neighbours either side I was rudely told to ring the next morning at 8.00am and they would sort out a delivery time. This i duly did to eventually be told it would be delivered between 12.00 pm and 3.00 pm WHILE I AM AT WORK! i I requested a morning delivery I was told " a morning delivery does not fit in with our delivery schedule you can pay more and have a timed delivery ! As i have already paid for delivery to my home address I am not prepared to "pay more '' or to travel across town and collect from their depot ( and going by the experiences of other customers this would be a bad mistake !) I asked to speak to their customer services dept and was told l "I am the managing director and i decide what goes on here '' I still have not got my parcel and it looks like i never will. Lets hope APC soon goes out of business (which won't be long if all these complaints are any thing to go by!! ) maybe we will get someone who knows what they are doing and knows what customer service actually means.
I am disgusted at the service offered by your driver ... He called at 9.30. By the time I reached the top of the stairs, he rang a second time yet by the time I reached the front door he had gone - a matter of seconds. He then went to my 87 year old neighbour. I called him back and complained and he said he 'has a lot to do'. THis is ridiculous - he should have waited at least a minute. And why is he so arrogant as to presume I want my parcel left with a neighbour? I have now had an irate phone call from said neighbour who is angry at being disturbed. Please tell ... a. to wait a reasonable time and b. not to disturb neighbours.
I have just had a failed delivery as they couldn't bring my table up to my flat door I paid a delivery fee as well now, they have had to take it back to their depot What a waste of time and what's the point of delivering items if it can only be front door houses what about people that live in flats Totally useless
And last week same company failed to deliver a small delivery to me this time at my work address (with the times on the door) as well,
I had an APC overnigjht 'Sorry we missed you" label put through my door while I was at work. I telephoned first thing the next day and asked about the option of having it dropped at my work place near the Telford depot but was told that i could either arrange another drop at the delivery address between 08:00 and 16:00 - Monday to Saturday or collect in person. As the weekday delivery being an impossible option for myself I said that i would call in and collect. At lunch time that day (13:00 – and I only get a half hour lunch break) ) I went rushed to the depot taking with me an identity card (complete with photo id) and the label as pushed through my door. Upon arrival I handed in the label and was asked for the id which i presented along with my credit card on which I purchased the item and I was also asked for my post code to confirm the the delivery address which it did. I was then told that unless I produced a form of id with an address on (which is NOT stated on the delivery label) that I could NOT take the parcel. I tried to argue the point that I had come in my lunch time and that I HAD with me forms of id as requested (address being required wasn't even mentioned when I telephone that morning). It was then the depot manager got up from his desk and came over and he kept simply reinforcing what the person i was dealing with had already said. As I continued to state my case and also disbelief of the situation to this person he became instantly aggressive and told me to leave the premises as he had the right to refuse dealing with me !!! When I got to my car I searched and found that I did have a form of id with address in my glove box and so I returned to the depot door. As I reached the door I was stopped from entering by the manager (plus a.n. other) saying “it was no good producing that” and that I was barred from the establishment. I asked him his name and a pen to write it down to report him to head office, as he had a pen clipped to the front of his v-neck pullover I took it to write the name down (remember I am being forcibly stopped from entering and stood at the door of the establishment) but it was snatched from my hand and I was told “ DO NOT MANHANDLE ME OR I WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR MY ACTIONS” using a very threatening manner. I said I only want a pen to write down your name but more threatening behaviour ensued and he then shouted “LEAVE NOW OR I WILL CALL THE POLICE”. So, given that the delivery option offered is not good for me and that I have been refused pick up at the Telford depot this leaves me with an untenable situation as to HOW TO GET MY PARCEL. I wrote to their head office who said they would investigate, but I simply got a couple of emails and a feeble apology and was told that my parcel had been returned to sender and that I must NOW contact them to arrange an ALTERNATIVE method of delivery (thus not addressing the issue but just passing the buck!).
How can a delivery company that is entrusted by a supplier to get purchase goods to their customer call all the shots (its simply a case of the tail wagging the dog!), so BEWARE all ye who dare enter the dragons den (an APC depot) and think you have any rights to your on-line purchases !
The Bermondsey depot is a shambles. They seem to deliberately fail to deliver so they can claim additional postage fees. On 4 occasions I waited for a package and they didn't even ring the bell, yet their 'log' stated that I wasn't at the address. They are almost inconceivably rude, dismissive and refused to listen. I have had great experiences with lots of other couriers. Stay well clear of this lot.
Used APC for about 4 years now, in the past we've used [External Reference], [External Reference], [External Reference], [External Reference], [External Reference](very briefly) and a few others. I had to think carefully about my rating as it represents 4 years of service. Also I had to compare it to the courier industry in general. I can say hands down without a shadow of a doubt APC is the best courier service we've used. They have screwed up at times and really pissed me off at times, but collectively over 4 years they have surpassed all the couriers we have previously used by a vast margin.
I think you also have to take courier reviews with a pinch of salt, far too many customers have unrealistic expectations. They want to pay as little as possible for delivery but expect the whole company to operate around their schedule.
