Ordered a carpet washer at a very low price. Was concerned about the item being delivered when I was at work, so emailed Appliances Direct and had a helpful reply the next morning. The item was with me within 3 working days and I was very pleased with it. I would highly recommend this company.
My landlord paid for them to deliver and install a washing machine, they delivered the machine then left without installing it. They claimed they couldn't find the water main (so easy if you actually look) and so they had to leave. Additionally they didn't wear anything to cover their boots so they tramped mud right throughout my house on my cream carpets. When my landlord tried to get the money back they just said no, not their problem... utter scum... do not trust them or buy from these total rip-off merchant scum bags. i tried to call them also, they just kept hanging up when I told them the problem. Worst service ever.
I purchased a Meaco dehumidifer from appliances direct and it was delivered within 2 days. It is so simple to use. I have a two bedroom bungalow with one particular bedroom having a serious condensation and mould problem. I leave the appliance on during the day and am always amazed at the amount of water that is collected. The room and contents feel and smell so much drier. Really really happy with the results and would highly recommend this product.
Initial product was faulty. No ones fault one of those things. Appliance direct swapped out very quickly all good now.
Having received my porcelain kitchen sink on time, I was unable to check the sink within the 5 days stated until my kitchen fitter came (10 days after delivery) as I cannot move large heavy items. On opening the box the kitchen sink was very very broken and in 2 halves. The packaging whilst looked OK on the outside I did check that at time of delivery, the sink was packed beyond appallingly, no foam packaging inside to keep the sink in a rigid place - in theory the sink was 'floating' about in the box. I called Appliances Direct immediately. They told me I was outside of the T&C's conditions that I should have looked within 5 days. I explained I cannot handle heavy items. AD then asked me to send photos - I did, they are very explicit. AD offered as a gesture of goodwill ! that I could return the sink at my expense of £59.... REALLY? (I had a kitchen fitter here to fit the sink, have had to pay for an alternative sink immediately so the kitchen fit could stay on track) and AD want me to pay for a return of a totally broken sink that was never packaged properly, which is their duty of care to ensure packaging is fit for purpose) That is appalling customer care. I have sent an email to them pointing out my rights under the Sale Of Goods Act 1979 - I am still awaiting a reply .............
From ordering to delivery the whole transaction was first class.The delivery was very fast and smooth and the item up and working within three days of the order being placed.The product is very well designed a looks well with the room decor.
For one I couldn't believe the price, actually purchased immediately and didnt look around for other prices , wanted to buy it before they realised they might have listed the wrong price :D, but across their whole range it's filled with bargains!
Unbelievably I had a telephone call the next day to make sure that was the correct item and to offer me insurance, then a phone call a few hours later to confirm delivery.
Far exceeded my customer service expectations and the product is gorgeous, wouldn't hesitate to buy for again.
My de-humidifier came on the day specified, (even in the morning which was helpful). The tracker facility kept me up to speed, the order was processed efficiently and best of all, the device, a Meaco DD8L does exactly what it says on the tin. :-)
Second time I have used Appliances Direct, and until they disappoint me, I will continue to do so. Top marks all round.
Fast delivery and a good price. Would be even better if delivery was free and no surcharge for using a credit card.
Amazing price for my microwave best in the UK. What's more they delivered it to France in 4 days for only 25 quid. Brilliant service and very good communications with an actual person. You can't go wrong with these guys. 5 Stars all the way.
We bought a range cooker and paid for delivery and installation of gas and electric. They were supposed to deliver to the kitchen but the delivery guys maintained they couldn't fit it through the front door or side gate and were not allowed to remove the packaging. I later pushed the cooker on my own, still in packaging through the side gate. One good thing is that after pushing, half of the delivery charge has been refunded.
After unpacking, a piece of trim was found to be missing. This is apparently on order, yet to be received.
The installation crew arrived later after delivery on the same day. They installed the has but NOT the electric citing the wrong amp at the cooker point.
I contacted customer service who in turn contacted their logistics who said the job was complete with no problems.
They've now backtracked on that and referred my partner to their installation email with a list of requirements. An independent electrician who was doing some other work for us said we met the requirements prior to delivery.
Customer service still believe their logistics team (who haven't proven themselves to be on the ball) and don't wish to look into the matter further. They have implied in their various emessages that the electrical installer is not a qualified electrician which is what we thought we were paying for.
My partner has repeatedly asked for someone to call her to resolve the problem via refund of half the installation cost but this has been ignored and email ping pong has ensued.
It seems they have their money and are completely disinterested. Their website boasts of great customer service - a claim they can't live up to. We will never use them again and would urge anyone considering them to think again.
Was very impressed with the speed of delivery and the response when I informed you the dehumidifier was not working. It now works , but one of the reasons I bought it was for the ability of continuous use but we did not get the hose connection, was this included in the price or do we need to buy separately ?
I ordered a washing machine on Thursday paying for the next day delivery and installation of the new washing machine and for them to take the old one away (I should have know it was too good to be true). I waited patiently last night (Friday) for the delivery as it said on the text that I was sent between 16.00-20.00 but it never arrived no one has even had the courtesy to call me to inform me of any problems and there is no one that you can contact as it is outside their office hours and now I have to wait till 09.00 to call anyone but they have been happy to take my money immediately !!!!!!!!!!! To make matters worse when I tried to track my order using the customer reference number which was given to me they could not get my details with the reference number given. SHOCKINGLY BAD SERVICE
Prices and delivery were all fine - reading other reviews it looks like I was fortunate. I have found them to be inefficient, evasive and dishonest once they have your money. The dehumidifier I received was faulty and this is where things started to go wrong.
- I followed the directions on the web pages and not wanting to be charged for one of the numerous penalties they have in place made sure I followed it to the letter.
- I first tried to submit a fault report, but this would not submit via the tablet I was using.
- First thing in the morning I called the manufacturer for a DOA number. The manufacturer was bemused by this as they just send out replacement units without Appliance Direct testing them; they do not issue DOA numbers. They also confirmed the fault was something they just send a replacement for.
- I then called the customer service line (which you get charged for) and after waiting to be put through to somebody appropriate was told just to submit a return via the original order. I did ask about sorting a return etc whilst I was on the phone but was told there would be not be a problem, just do it via the order return section.
- I completed the return form and submitted it. As I was unsure if it had gone through (you get no copy of the text so there is no confirmation) I sent a message asking for confirmation.
- I get a response saying yes, but nothing else.... so sit and wait
- The following day I get another message asking for the serial number (why this was not requested on the form I completed is unknown) and if I want a replacement or a refund (I had already asked for a replacement when I had contacted them twice before)
- I responded by saying that I would like a refund as I was not happy with the efficiency of their customer service. However if they could do a swap on the unit I have for one which is not faulty I would go for that. It was clear from my message that I was not a happy customer after wasting time the previous day trying to avoid complications.
- A very quick response this time saying a customer service technician would ‘aim’ to be in touch within 24h. No recognition of the problems I have had, but if I had anything else they could help with in the meantime just get in touch….. what about the problems?!
- Because it had become clear by this point that I was being messed around I just asked for a refund and my faulty goods to be collected. This was now over four days ago – I have heard nothing whatsoever from them since then.
I am now assuming that I will have to take them to court to get a refund as they are seemingly unwilling to follow the legislation in place.

Yes Brian did call around lunchtime yesterday and arrange collection for today. He was unable to explain why my messages had been ignored and had obviously not read them as he was still asking if I wanted a replacement.
Later in the afternoon the manufacturer also called to arrange a replacement as they had been emailed late in the morning with the instruction to arrange a replacement. It turns out that they do the replacements and collections as I have previously written. They were a little shocked that somebody from your end had arranged a collection and were going to contact Appliance Direct to make sure they were aware that there had been a mistake and to cancel the collection....
Anyway they arranged a collection which promptly arrived this morning (less than 24h after they had been notified that the machine was faulty). I have just turned away the courier sent in error by Appliances Direct.
I have sent an message via the emessage system asking when my refund will be with me and what the total value will be.
Thank you for all your help in sorting this - it is a shame that the rest of your organisation cannot be as efficient

Still waiting on my refund weeks after reporting a faulty item.....
After getting ignored via their own messaging system I ended up using social media to get any activity regarding a refund for a faulty dehumidifier that I was sent – see my separate conversation with Brittany below.
The faulty unit was collected by the manufacturer 11 days ago and I have now had three separate requests as to when I am getting my refund and the value of this responded to with;
A lie – they claim that they need the manufacturer to confirm it is with them (It was with them 1 week ago & I have had this confirmed that this is not the usual procedure by the manufacturer themselves).
Ignored – just no response whatsoever
Excuse/diversion – they will look into it further and chase up with the manufacturer (when they can just complete the refund and tell me the value)
The prices may look good, but the customer service I have received is an absolute joke (yes the messages signed Brittany are helpful, but it does not resolve the problems). They have total disregard for the regulations that are there to protect consumers from and hide behind a messaging system that they ignore and a telephone system that you have to pay for.
Use your own judgement, but I personally wish I had never used this outfit.

Chasing through their facebook page works and they have now said they will refund. However.... they got the figure wrong and have not refunded the delivery costs for the faulty item...... They are obliged to by consumer regulations.
I chose the Indesit cooker that I wanted and then I looked round for a company to buy it from. I was impressed with the price and the website at Appliances Direct. I ordered, and paid for, the cooker over the internet. Easy peasy. I ordered it on 30/10/2013. After that the customer service was outstanding. A gentleman telephoned me to confirm my purchase and give me an approximate delivery date. I also received an e-mail to the same effect. After that I received several e-mails keeping me up to date with the status of my order and a tracking number. Appliances Direct have an e-messaging system so that you can contact them easily but I didn't need to. On the 4/11/2013 I was given a delivery date of 6/11/2013. The delivery company Hi Way contacted me to say they would deliver my cooker between 7.30am and 10.30am and they came at 8.35am. They unpacked the cooker and took all the packaging away and helped me check the cooker before I signed for it. Great customer service and to top it all off I love the cooker. Can't fault anything about this company and their delivery company.

Ordered on Wednesday and delivered on friday .
I was phoned in advance by the driver giving me a 2 hour delivery slot.
Delivery was easy and the item was in perfect condition.
I will be ordering from them again
Easy online ordering, delivery date confirmed immediately (within two days), text giving customer a three hour slot to expect delivery 07.30am to 10.30am goods arrived at premises at 09.10am, drivers kindly handled the goods safely and placed in the location required.
Very pleased with all the customer service.
Really pleased - great to get a phone call straight after I placed the order. And the delivery guys rang too to say there were on their way. All appliances came without delay and were all in one piece on arrival. I would definitely recommend you!
I purchased an air-conditioning unit from them which failed less than a month after purchase and it has been impossible to get them to show interest in returning/refunding. I had to engage a solicitor and even then they still refunded in a piecemeal way and I'm still trying to get back the cost of the return. My solicitor is now approaching Trading Standards because this company seems to have no idea of it's obligations under the Sale of Goods Act. This is the worst company I have had the misfortune of dealing with. I think if your product works, OK, if it fails, then you are pretty much on your own and good luck with that.
I bought a full range of Baumatic appliances for my new kitchen and had them delivered. On inspection everything looked OK. However, 5 weeks later, when our electrician installed the double-oven the lower oven thermostat did not work and the oven just overheated to cut-off point. The upper oven still works and so we know it is not an installation fault.
When I contacted Appliances Direct to request a repair or replacement they told me that as Baumatic had gone into administration I would just "have to wait" until they were offering repairs again. Two months later and the possibility of any repair from Baumatic keeps moving out each week!!!
It seems we have not choice but to pay for an independent repair of a brand new oven because Appliances Direct can hide behind their own 28 day returns policy and then a warranty that is not worth the paper it's printed on.
The latest comment from their so-called Customer Aftercare is that I will have to pay for an independent expert to confirm that the appliance has never worked properly if I want them to consider replacing it -- not enough to sell me an unusable appliance but now they call me a liar.

I paid for next day delivery and installation of my washing machine, I was also promised a phone call 30 mins before delivery was due.
The next day delivery did not happen and I was not notified until 5am on the day I was expecting the machine that it was not going to be delivered.
Delivery was then arranged for the following day, the driver failed to give me the promised 30 min warning leaving me to rush to the delivery address or risk them leaving - once they arrived they knew nothing about the installation service and had no tools and no time allowed in which to do the install!!
When I have contacted the customer service team I have found them to be reasonably polite, good at making up excuses (perhaps the driver had no signal!), great at shielding management from getting involved and ineffectual at solving customers issues or offering appropriate compensation.
