Product and delivery information is fantasy

The product I ordered specifically stated that delivery would take place next day from my order. Not only did this not happen, but I received an email on the 14th telling me that delivery would take place "within 5 working days".

I only ordered from them on the basis that I could receive my order next day. I contacted their customer support who were completely unhelpful - they just kept repeating the "within 5 days" line and that I could return the product when it eventually replies.

Avoid if you need anything quickly or expect reasonable customer service.

Argos

5 star.

Buy from them all the time, delivery is quick and the delivery team is second to know.

So far have never received a bad or damaged item.

Child's product fell apart and no response from Argos

My daughter received a Chad Valley toddler trampoline as a Christmas gift from a relative, and four months later it was falling apart - the trampoline bit was unraveling and pulling away from the border, so she couldn't use it any more. Pretty bad product life for a child's toy!

I contacted Argos several times, and each time all they ask is "did you buy it online or in store?" I reply (three times now) saying that it was purchased in store, but it was a gift and we don't have a receipt, so what are our options? Argos NEVER responds to my reply, so I'm not sure what to do with this faulty item. I even tried contacting through Facebook and Twitter, but they never respond after my initial comments.

I contacted Chad Valley, the manufacturer, and their only advice was to contact Argos, who "should be able to help." So no help at all from either Chad Valley or Argos. I will NOT be buying a Chad Valley product again, nor will I be shopping with Argos in the future.

Argos

No contact after numerous messages sent from their site and not receiving the goods I ordered

I ordered an mp3 player from their site, asked for it to be delivered to my home, Big mistake. The company they use for their home deliveries is one I've never heard of and never wish to have dealings with again.

The delivery driver rang me the day that he attempted the first delivery, while I was out at work, and asked if it was suitable to post it through the letterbox. I lived, at the time, in a shared house but there was only one individual with keys to the box on the door and I've had numerous other deliveries made to that address over the 7 years that I had lived there. This was the first that I knew of that had not turned up.

I rang the delivery company and asked if they'd maybe delivered it to the wrong address and was given a very lacklustre response, not very helpful at all. When they did eventually respond it was to tell me that it was no longer their problem and that I should make a complaint to Argos so they could investigate.

After sending several messages from the website I received absolutely no contact whatsoever in response to my claim. Utterly pitiful, do not use this company ever.

Argos

An ineptitude of service that I had previously considered impossible!‏

Here are the highlights:

Item purchased not as described on the website. (Bike should have included stabilisers)

'Customer Service' advisor unable to advise me if the item should even include stabilisers, despite the fact that he website states that it does!

Offers me an exchange, but cannot guarantee if the stabilisers will be included.

In the light of the above we therefore arrange for a collection and refund.

Courier arrives on the day of the collection during the two hour window they agreed
to avoid.

Courier fails to turn up the next day as agreed.

Argos refuse to accept any blame, refuses to refund the item until they have collected it and refuse to compensate for the fact that my wife has taken an additional day holiday from work.

E-mail sent to Argos asking for an immediate response.

Argos then send another courier on the wrong day to the wrong address.

'Customer Service' agent then advises that she cannot arrange a response to my e-mail as she does not work for that department and cannot possibly speak to that department, I will just have to wait!

Still no refund, still not collection and still no response from Argos over the catalogue of errors they have caused!

I have now e-mailed the CEO directly in the hope of receiving some form of resolution; here's hoping!

I will never, EVER purchase another item from Argos ever again and I would strongly recommend that you do the same!

If you ever feel like purchasing an item online, do yourself a favour and try Amazon!

Argos

Customer Service - I doubt they could spell it !!

I ordered a new bed online from Argos on 22nd of May, I paid for it in full on my card and didn't give it any more thought until I came home the evening before delivery was due over a week later. I found a message on my ansaphone saying that due to a stock issue my bed would not be getting delivered tomorrow.

As I was due to go into hospital the day after delivery of the bed was due to have major surgery. I would now have no bed to sleep in when I came out of hospital and I would not be in a position to assemble one then, I was in a bad position, thanks to the incompetence of their logistics/buying/planning departments.

When I rang them the Customer Service (and I use that term very loosely) clerk was just about as unhelpful, couldn't care less and unapologetic as they could be. I do understand that they might be depressed when working for such a slack company and having to take phone calls like mine all day.

I have requested a full refund to my card and done what I should have done in the first place ORDERED ONE FROM AMAZON !!!!!!!

Argos

No problems

Nice site, although the search option needs improving in my opinion.
The choice is nice, but delivery is slow and not time specific.

Anyway, would use again and the prices are good.

Argos

I'm glad I'm banned from the store now.

I went into the Argos store in Kendal where I asked for a refund on a faulty item. I didn't have the receipt but because it was faulty I don't need to have one under the sales of goods act. Well the Duty Manager was insistant that it was my son's fault and that it had been mishandled, she even gave a senario (she said it looked like it had been tangle in a chair) that was completely false so thus accused me of being a liar. My son had bought the product with his own money and I took him to the store so he could tell them that he had bought them and it was from this store. I was noticably upset that they refused to replace it and the duty manager proceeded to tell me that I would have to pay to prove it was a fault that had developed. With my son in tears I went into protective Mum mode and told them exactly what I thought of them. I shall never ever shop in that shop again. For the sake of £20 they have lost £100s of pounds worth of sales. I don't think I would have been so angry if the muppet behind the counter hadn't been like a nodding lap dog, kissing the duty manager's behind. I will be writing to head office about this as I know my rights and it's a disgrace that they did not give me a refund.

Argos

Shocking returns process

Bought a Fridja from Argos, it leaks everywhere. Contacted Argos and was told that the supplier (Fridja) would contact us within 14 days, we chased after 7 days to be told they had up to 14 days. Helpful - not at all! Here we are on day 16 and no response from either Argos or the supplier. Contacted them again today to be told by Argos; they've contacted the supplier, by email, because they can't contact them by phone because they don't have a phone number but we will get a reply within 48 hours. Confidence level on receiving the call from the supplier = 0. The transaction took place between Argos and us as the consumers, surely Argos should be handling this case and not passing it off on to the supplier to deal with. Come on Argos sort this out.

Argos

this is why Amazon are killing you

There I am sitting at home with my wife and we have an issue. The radiators are off the wall (&because its May) we assumed we wouldn't need them, but it transpires we do, so we set about buying a small electric heater to keep us warm during the summer months! My wife said that I should try Argos, so I gave them a go. They had the heater I needed, in a store not 10 mins away from our house, but before I could press the reserve button I had the opportunity to get my product delivered by Shutl (I'm now renaming this service!) It was 17.15 on a Saturday night & for £8.50 I could get my £28 product delivered to me with 1hr 55 mins, well I thought this is too good to be true. It transpires it was, I phoned Shitl after 2hrs 55 mins to find out that the store had closed by the time the courier got there, so they weren't delivering tonight. Listen to me Argos, I've ordered 3 things from Amazon this week and they all arrived and I ordered 2 things from John Lewis and they were delivered on time, 1 thing ordered from you and nothing! So I hate to see names like Argos being lost from our high st, but if you don't raise your game you'll be dead. Amazon need to sort out their taxes, you need to sort out your couriers!

Argos

false accusations

i bought a rug and it was labled wrong as it was a runner so i asked for a different color no problems there. until .................................... we walked up the street and went in to our lettin agents stood talkin to the woman behind the counter and this fella stopeed my husband IN the letting agent and said ive bin told youve walked out with out paying for that rug could you come with me to sort it being infuriated i turned and told him he could wait his turn coz i had my own problem to sort out finishe with the woman who kept giving me funny looks and went to the store turns out they didnt give us the right recipt there lucky the guy didnt get a smack in the teeth! will never ever use argos again

Argos

Home delivery order still not arrived...

Argos haven't replied to three emails despite not delivering my order. The order tracking still shows the original date when delivery should have happened despite the date having now passed. They aren't picking up on the customer services number. Really disappointed and stuck with what to do next.

Argos

Really happy with service

I needed to get a new iron really quick but didn't want to pay too much so I found the ne I wanted on line and ordered it. I popped into the store and got it . as simple as that. very happy. :-)

Argos

lack of product description customer services

I Bought a nook tablet, I thought all tablets had cameras, Argos do not mention cameras on lower priced tablets, only on the more expensive ones. There is no 30 day exchange on these products but its at the managers discretion. I wished to exchange and pay the differance but was point blank refusedand was told to look on Goodle befor buying.
I will no longer use Argos, I will buy from Amazon as they accept returns for any reason.

Argos

Reserve and Collect - Sorted

Find a new paid of gloves for the gym online with Argos, reserved them for collection within my local store, it couldn't be easier. Arrived in store, used the reservation number provided, paid for my product and within a minute the product was at the desk ready fro collection. The store was empty but fantastic service, couldn't fault it in any way.

Argos

Argos Home Delivery??? SHAME!!! Never AGAIN! Customer service absolutely inefficient!!

i bought a vaccum cleaner on line expecting my delivery on 2nd april... they delivered to a wrong address and someone else collected the item after i din't mention any other person than me to sign and take the item in the online form order.
I called them and they arranged delivery two days later... never received the item again...spending hour by phone with incapable people i asked for a refund...
expecting my refund in 5/7 days i spent nearly 1 month calling them to get my money back and finally on 22/03 they refund me just the price of the item not the delivery charge of 3.95... i kept calling them and still waiting for the rest of my money back...
i'm horrified...has been a nightmare... i'm really upset and i will never buy anything online or in store again! is a shame!

Argos

Great product, great price, great product range

Really happy with the furniture we bought for our new home. My only disappointment was on the dinning table when wrong size of dinning table was delivered but the staffs at customer service helped and was sorted after few weeks. Overall great product and the cheaper too.

Argos

low prices as and easy service

ordered a laptop on the weekend, bought online then popped in and left a happy man!

Argos

Great customer service, shame about the product

I ordered a nest of tables from Argos about 5 weeks ago. When I ordered I chose the delivery date and although it was about 4 weeks in the future I was happy to wait as the tables looked nice and the price was reasonable.

The tables arrived on the specified day of delivery so I was happy but on opening the package they looked very different to the picture on the website!

I was quite shocked as the tables looked to be poor quality and definitely couldn't use them so I contacted customer services to see what I could do.

The lady was very helpful and told me that the full amount would be refunded to my card within 4 days and they would come and pick up the tables in about 3 weeks.

I was a bit puzzled as to why it would take so long for them to pick them up (and a bit annoyed to have to store them for so long) but customer services were very helpful.

I'll definitely use argos again but perhaps for a product like this I'll use a different company where i can inspect it before i buy.

Stole my wallet - Argos Wimbledon

Don't ever go to the argos store in wimbledon. I got my wallet stolen there probably by one of the workers as I left it on the counter. When I realized I lost it, I came back to the and ask if they had seen it or if they could check their CCTV.

They really didn't care about my stolen wallet. None of them wanted to help, they just kept on ignoring me. After 30 minutes I finally managed to talk to the Manager who didn't care about that either and kept on dealing with customers at the same time I was talking to him. He did not want to check the CCTV, as he said "the wallet is too small to be visible in the camera, only the cash at the counter is visible". Well, my wallet left at the counter is bigger than the cash so how can it not be seen?

I am sure one of their staff did steal the wallet. The police came over after I reported the crime, and took their CCTV. Guess what? The camera on the counter was not working! They made sure that nobody will find out they stole my wallet.

Information & Comparisons on Website excellent, service at the till quick & efficient - Prices as good as anyones.

I've just spent most of the day researching; comparing & then buying my first Satellite Navigation System. The best place I found after trawling the internet was,you guessed it ARGOS! The buying guide on their website was very, very informative & I was able to compare all their Sat Nav Systems which really helped me decide what system I should buy. After doing price comparisons on the internet I decided to, YES you've guessed it BUY from ARGOS. I jumped back on the Argos website selected a Binatone F430 4.3 Inch UK and ROI Sat Nav (£49.99) & a Hama Sat Nav Universal Accessory Kit (£19.99 as a package deal). Clicked on Reserve & was given a reservation number. Drove into town, paid & collected my order in less than 5 minutes (service in shop excellent). I could have had it delivered, but I wanted it NOW! Really, really excellent throughout the whole transaction. AND! The Sat Nav & Accessory Kit (total price £69.98) are, in my opinion, the MOST AWESOME PIECES OF KIT I'VE EVER SEEN! God knows what the £200+ kits do. They must make you a cup of coffee & a bacon butty during the journey for that price???? Anyway - ARGOS 10 out of 10 - BINATONE SAT NAV 11 out of 10. Visiting my Daughter tomorrow (me & the sat nav) down in Hampshire. Hours of FUN-FUN-FUN!!! for a wrinkly old man. Picking up a roof rack purchased on eBay Monday near Wigan. More hours of FUN?

I should mention the collection was from the LOUGHBOROUGH branch of ARGOS. Staff: polite; efficient & friendly. My till receipt said 6 minute wait, I waited 1 minute and was on my way in 5.

Argos

no problems at all

i've been doing up my bedroom so ive ordered a few items from Argos and my experience has been very good. reserved a dvd tower at my local store, it was there ready for me when i arrived, only had to wait 5 minutes in a queue. 2nd item was a tv stand for home delivery, arrived the next day no issues. last item was a double divan bed, i ordered it from argos as they had a 50% off beds, ordered it mid-feb and it arrived 7th march, it came within the delivery slot and driver rang me an hour before they arrived. when the bed arrived i had 2 very helpful guys who brought the mattress and bed upstairs for me. all in all very pleased with my experiance with Argos home delivery and i was shocked to see so many bad reviews for them, i must be either very lucky or people that are satisfied with the service dont review.

Argos

GET YOUR MONEY THEN YOU DON'T MATTER

Bought my 42" Hitachi from Argos 6mnths ago its now faulty have to take it back and they'll send it for repair how long for there not sure up to 16days do I get a TV to use in the meantime ha you must be joking my kids will drive me crazy do the care NOT A JOT CAUSE THEY HAVE MY MONEY AND I DON'T HAVE A LEG TO STAND ON. Take my advice when buying a big item stick to a proper company with a proper repair service and proper aftercare.

Argos

Great Collection Service

I ordered my new Halogen Oven using the 'Click and Collect' service. I had the confirmation text sent to my husband's mobile phone and he went to collect the goods; he was highly impressed with the efficiency, from showing the confirmation text to the assistant, making the payment and collecting the goods he said he was out of the door in less than two minutes. Well done to the staff at the Guildford, Ladymead branch!!

Argos

Amazing Customer Service

Just wanted to say it's nice to find a company that actually gives great customer service! I bought my son an Innotab in July 2012, the screen broke within a month of him having it. I took it back to our local Argos store and they exchanged it without a quibble. The Innotab then failed to switch on in Feb 2013. I took it back to my local store again with the receipt and said that the Innotab wouldn't switch on. They said that they don't have a repair facility so looked to see if they had that item in stock. Unfortunately they no longer stock this item as a new model has been brought out. This was more expensive and I wasn't prepared to pay the price difference so asked for my money back which again without quibbling, they refunded my money. Fantastic service Argos, thank you!!

Argos

Awful products, terrible service.

Every time I see Argos's prices, I get tempted. Over the past 2 years I have purchased many 'home' products from Argos in store (Bradford) and on line. The delivery men were aggressive, rude and unhelpful, the staff are incapable of saying anything other than 'computer says no' - even when their own website disagrees with them! Most of the products have clearly been repackaged, and when opened are faulty. Trying to return the item has been a nightmare when using home delivery. Returning to the store was easy, once you have waited half an hour for the disinterested staff to call your number. I will never, ever, ever use Argos again, no matter how low their prices are. You really do get what you pay for here.

Argos

Argos!? Do it if you like gambling.

Hi there, its me again...
Just came back to change my rating to this store as the fridge i bought on the 21st of January, still has not been fixed or exchanged for a new one. I was told now the engineer is coming on the 11th of March. Its been nearly 2 months...
Hopefully he will fix it.
Some of the staff seem to be polite and helpful but the service is unacceptable.

Argos

I absolutely like this shop.

I mostly find what i am looking for. Prizes are ok. Stuff is ok.

Argos

Diabolical...

Appalling company. No interest in customer retention or assistance. Party when Argos dies.....sooner the better really. News flash folks......it's cheap for a reason. Roll the dice, take yer chance - but don't expect any assistance if it goes Peter tong...they are not interested in customers at all....

Argos

Product Very Poor Quality. Not Fit For Purpose. Avoid like the plague

10ft by 6ft PVC goalpost. Got this for son for Christmas. First goalpost had faulty connectors and wrong number of parts. Returned to shop who said that if wanted a replacement, would have to pay an extra £20 as it had gone up in price. Really annoyed, but as it was a present and son desperate for new goal went along with it. The Salisbury store didn't have it in stock, so had to go back again, when product eventually came in. Have just tried to assemble this goalpost. Such poor quality: cross ections would not go very far into the corner connectors, so kept fally apart. Only two of the connectors were able to hold the PVC poles together without them spinning round. Last straw was fitting the net on ------- the PVC corner connectors fractured. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. IT IS SUCH POOR QUALITY. Back to the shop we go. Wonder what the customer service will be like.

Argos

Excuse after excuse

I ordered some furniture at the beging of December as we are just buying a new home. My delivery date was for the 16th, which was fine. I got a call the day before to say tht they couldn't deliver it, but will be with me on the 19th. I cut short my weekend away to Dublin to receive them then I get a call the day before while I was away to tell e that they wouldn't be delivering them. When I asked why they told me that 1part of the order was no there. I told them to deliver the rest and I will wait for the ast part. I did get the main part if the items ordered on the date arranged, but over 2 hours later than told.

The last part was then booked to come on the 19th January, but due to the weather I didn't, which I accept. Was told that it would be with me on the 23rd. Time if delivery was between 7am and midday I got a call at 12.50 to tell me that wouldn't be arriving and that someone would be in touch in 48hrs. I did get a call and was told I could have it in the 5th Feb, almost 2 weeks later. I demanded to speak to a manager, which wouldn't let me get a word in. When I finally could talk, I asked what the problem was. She told me that they didn't have the item in stock as they where having problems with the supplier.

What I can't understand why book in delivery dates if they don't have the item. People are arranging time of work to stay in waiting for them. Shoud arrange delivery when they have the stock. I do know that they have arrange delivery and then sold it and the people ended up going to the shop to pick it up.

I was given 2 options, 1was to cancel it and get my money back or wait for it, which I don't want as its part of a set. 2 was to wait for it to arrive. Sh did offer me a good will gesture if a gift, I wait to see if that happens.

If it doesn't arrive on the 5th I will cancel it and get something very much the same from tesco direct.

Do not get anything on home delivery, they are rubbish. Come on Argos get your act together, thought better if this big company.

Argos

Please avoid delivery service of ARGOS!

Waste a lot of time because of this service. As a result, they've cancelled my order without any notice. PLEASE, avoid this service!!!

Argos

Exactly what I expected

Brought a new dining set, exactly what I expected from argos, good service, good product, say no more! :P

Argos
Argos

the service was very impressive

I was impressed that you could choose time and date of your choice, then the night before the delivery you receive an automated service confirming the delivery and a time within a 3 hour window. on the day the delivery the driver calls you one hour before they are due to arrive.

it makes a change that you not having to wait indoors all day for a delivery.

i would definately reccomend this service to friends.

Pretty good all round - and I love to reserve and collect

Generally these guys are great. The convenience of pre-ordering is good, although occasionally get handed a product that has obviously been bought before. Fair returns policy.

Argos

lazy delivery drivers

I purchased a hygena space saver dining suite and a 43" tv from argos. I explained that i live in a maisinette and i was assured that this wasn't a problem and the delivery men would carry my purchases up the stairs for me. On the day, they didn't carry it up the stairs, instead they left them in the porch for my son to carry. When we started putting the table and chairs together, firstly the screw holes were damaged and then the metal leg of the chair was cracked when we tightened the screw. I called argos and I was told that they'd collect the dining suite in a weeks time and i'd have to wait for another week for my refund. With regards to the delivery,I was told that it was at the drivers discretion whether or not they carry any parcel through the house. It's fair to say, I will think twice before I order from these again.
