DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY

Absolutely appalled by the poor after sales service! It is February now, I have been waiting for a refund for poor quality goods since December. They blatantly break the law by blaming their suppliers, even when it is pointed out to them that your contract is with them and nobody else. They have their goods back and my money... I have nothing! Do not even dream of buying anything from them!

click and do not collect

ordered a juicer as a birthday present with click and collect. went to the store and put my order number in to the system. it never recognised it.
asked a member of staff who went to check.
she said the item was not in store. she said that the item had to be delivered.
neither the web site or the email said the item had to be delivered and would be available to picked on that day. this is not the case so if you click don't collect the same day as the item wont be there.

appalling service corrupt plausible and chief executives who instigate blatant cover ups

I have had the most dreadful sly corrupt service constituting no investigation from a member of staff who had been rude to an elderly couple last Sunday from one member of Camden High Street staff . After getting lied to the duty manager saying the description of the member of staff was accurate head office say the Camden manager contradict everything which is so devious and simply not right .I've been lied too and now getting legal advice to verify that argos had been showing deliberate impropriety

Rubbish

my order AD075780950 has been delivered damaged. The nature of my goods would say that it needs to be handled with care as they are light bulbs but common sense isn't as common anymore. On top of this when I called the customer services to advise of this, they are not listening to what I am saying but only speaking the legal words by saying they do not work in the warehouse and cannot guarantee any condition of products. I am ordering light bulbs, if you cannot guarantee the delivery of goods in good condtion then don't sell them online. This is rubbish service and waste of my time, Pathetic, rubbish service.

Cheaters

I ordered a television online on 26/01/2014, yet receieved no email confirmation. the money was taken from my card and the next day had two emails, one offering me recommendations of other products I may like to go with my televison and also an email giving me helpfull numbers for Samsung. I contacted Argos as I was concerened that I had receievd no confirmation email.

Imagine my horror when I was told they had no stock of the television and no idea if they woudl ever receive more stock. I was astounded, they had taken the money under false pretences as far as I was concerned and to rub salt into the wounds they would issue a refund that coudl take up to five working days to go back on to my card.

I feel this is apalling behaviour for such a large company. the way I currently feel towards Argos I hope they dissapear.h. The blue aliens in their adverts go with their business practises, not of this earth.

A V O I D. meaningless delivery promises - be surprised if it's delivered as promised - OR AT ALL

Firstly, I suffer with bad hips & knees and need firm cushion seats, After trying the seat in store at Norwich Castle Mall, we ordered online both a bed sofa (for the times I can't get up the stairs) and corner sofa from the same range on October 2013, promised delivery on October - twice rescheduled - finally delivered 28th November - on delivery, Sofa bed was good (but poor workmanship) corner units didn't match - different levels in seat height and different firmness. Rang Argos helpline -wanted to send a repair team for an item just unpacked -refused and requested a different sofa in the range as a replacement as unhappy that any replacement would have the same problems - agreed with a replacement - date changed a couple of days prior to exchange to just before Christmas, date again changed a week before the agreed replacement date to January 17th 2014, then a message not until the end of January 2014, yesterday received another call saying they can't deliver as no stock - 25th February (4 MONTHS LATER AND STILL NO GARANTEE OF A DELIVERY) The Sofas are still on sale in store and online as a reduced price - WHY ARE THEY BEING SOLD IF NO STOCK AND NO IDEA WHEN THERE WILL BE
Unless Argos are willing to swap both sofa for similar current range items at no extra cost, which are delivered when promised (check the catalogues - USUALLY WITHIN ?????) then it only goes to show that their promises of delivery and customer service are totally empty and without any substance to back it - the poor call center personnel are the ones that have the hard task of having to break bad news to the CLIENTS that have trusted such an untrustworthy company that is obviously caused by a mismanagement at a higher level or due to the policy operated by the purchasing / delivery priortising departments.
That the calls are recorded is a real bonus as they can be called for if legal proceeding start due to continual breach of promise and distress caused, together with the initial problem of the items supplied.

DISGRACEFUL CHEATING MONEY GRABBERS

I ordered a bike from here on 23rd December 2013, it was delivered on 27th Dec, was too small for my husband. Arranged for Argos to come and take it back and refunded. For some reason refund takes 7-10 working days to process dont understand why this is as it doesnt take 7-10 days to come out of my account. Anyway because of the Christmas period I allowed for th 7-10 working days for my refund but low and behold not in my account. When I called was told refund was issued on 29th December. Strange as bike was not picked up until 2nd January. I then checked my bank and no nothing had gone in, rang them again and was told that it hadnt been scanned into their warehouse and did I know who collected it????? After a very annoyed phone call from me on Friday 17th January, I was assured that refund would leave Argos account within 24 hours and into my bank within 48hours, Here we are 6 days later and still no refund. Have contacted Watchdog now and am contemplating a Solicitors letter to see if they respond. This is absolutely disgusting Argos is crap crap crap.......

ONE SENTENCE IS NOT ENOUGH!

For anyone who may at any point in their lives wish to purchase anything from the exquisite emporium which is named Argos:

Always email them - but as with any other company, when they have the crap contact form that you can't keep a copy of (handy that), copy and paste into a word document, with the date (and time if possible as it is more imposing - not that the person in the store will even notice - that's if they can read - refer as far back as Jasper Carrott's 2004 vide if necessary), before pressing send.

When they respond to your email by phone, which may be for reasons where they do not want written evidence; but is far more likely to be the fact that they have fingers too fat to type; insist they confirm the content of the said conversation in some written format.

The reason being is that, when you eventually summon up the energy to return any item and have to stand in the inappropriately titled queue for 'Customer information/returns', it may go some way to prove that what you are saying is true. If you do not heed my warning, be prepared for a member of staff to say to you that they "only have your word for it" when you state that the person who phoned you said you don't need a receipt even though the item nearly burnt your house down and every one therein. I took the standard part of the lamp, and the crumbled concrete base in a plastic bag with me back to the local store.

You will also get 'knowing' looks as you have lost the receipt, so you may have been stolen the item and then returned it for the sum of £7.11. Bearing in mind, Argos must be about the only store where the items, apart from those on display, are BEHIND the front desk and in a store room. If I was skilled enough to be able to access this room without anyone's knowledge, I would endeavour to obtain a 42" LCD TV and would not have bothered to return it, unless "Freddie the Fence" had not been interested. After the Manager eventually agreed to phone Customer Services, I was told there was 'no note' on the system of me being offered a refund, despite the product not being fit for purpose and electrically faulty. I went through the whole procedure of giving my name, address etc, only to be handed an Argos Card, not money. I pointed out to the assistant that the card was not in fact a refund. I was told 'it was the same thing'. I said it was not the same as a refund and was a credit note. I asked if it was the same as cash, I would be able to spend it anywhere! He said I was lucky to get that, even though the item caused fire damage and collapsed.

If, by some miracle, you have not lost the will to live after waiting 40 minutes and been called a liar, I suggest you purchase catalogue nr: 914/9821
DISCLAIMER: No Argos employees were hurt during the making of this email. Any resemblance to any employee being a cretin is purely coincidental.

Waste of time.

More often than not when Argos have an unbeatable offer the item is out of stock. I wanted a watch that was heavily discounted, when I searched online every shop in about a 100 mile radius showed OUT OF STOCK, I expect they will be back in stock soon now that the offer has been withdrawn.

Disappointing

I was looking for an iPad for a Christmas present. Argos had a good deal. £30 off and
a free case worth £40. I reserved it on-line and travelled to the nearest Argos store in my lunch hour. When I arrived I found that the £30 discount had disappointed and there was no free case. Of course I did not buy it and I was annoyed that I wasted my whole
lunch break on a wasted errand. The small print in their terms and conditions stated that this can happen but I feel that this is wrong. If you reserve an item they should hold the price for you. I wrote a letter of complaint but received no reply.

Awful company, I don't pay money to be shouted at by sales clerks.

Awful to deal with, never again. I reserved a multi cooker from their Maidenhead store (that I could have had slightly cheaper from Amazon - but I needed the item there and then) and went to pick it up. I went into the store, waited a good 5 minutes for a till to become free, and then went to pay for the item. The sales assistant asked about protection, and basically wouldn't shut up about it, I wavered and said I think not, and she yelled at me twice "Just do it:". It is only because I needed the item that I went through with the sale.

I contacted customer care and got an extremely lukewarm response.

Swift resolution but poor compensation

I bought a laptop for my wife's birthday, which after 1 day would not charge, but would operate off the mains. In the first instance, when I bought the laptop I was meant to get an MS Apps Store voucher, which they neglected to do and after a written complaint (prior to my wife opening the gift) I heard absolutely nothing.

Went in store to change, was told I could get £30 refunded for time wasted, by deputy manager. Store manager came over and spoke to the DM (not me) and overuled the original decision, and said they would give me the £25 voucher (which should have been mine anyway) and just a £10 for time wasted setting the thing up.

WHAT SERVICE? THEY MIGHT AS WELL CLOSE FOR BUSINESS!

Well, I do not even know where to begin. I ordered a telly on the 4th Jan, paid for it to be delivered on a Saturday as nobody is around to receive on weekdays. Delivery was supposed to be between 7am to 6pm so I waited patiently until 5:30 before ringing their call centre. I had a funny feeling something was up and lo and behold when I spoke to their advisor I was told the usual spiel of " we have dispatched the parcel but we are unsure as to why it has not been delivered". I was then advised that the telly may be delivered today or Monday, the advisor couldnt really give me a definite answer. Anyway, I gave up and asked the name of the courier and the advsisor said it was yodel but she said I couldnt ring them as they close at 6pm. Not surprised of the negative reviews about this courier company, useless! I then sent a complaint email to argos because I wasnt satisfied with the advisor's "customer service". 15 minutes later I received a call from Argos, this lady was apologizing for the failed delivery and all but again she said "not sure what happened, why it was not delivered" and offered to refund my delivery and £15 voucher. Nevermind the voucher I want my telly! She then suggested to collect the telly instead from the store to which I eventually agreed. So ok, she then emailed me a reference number needed for when I collect my telly. Then came collection day, you will never guess what happened...oh wait...but if you have read the rest of the negative reviews here on trustpilot then you probably will. So my husband went to the store to collect only to be told they didnt know anything about it and that they couldnt release the telly because I was refunded?! I wasn't!! Thieves! So I rang the customer service again when and I was told again and again "we are not sure why it happened, they should have given it to you because you have not been refunded". Ridiculous right?! Yep, I think so too. I wanted to speak to the manager, I was only told they do not work weekends. How convenient. After venting out my worst ever customer service experience to this poor lad on the line, I CANCELLED MY ORDER. And oh, did I say that even after the consecutive mistakes made, still the best thing they could do was arrange for a delivery on Tuesday? Not Monday but Tuesday! WHAT A JOKE! WHAT AN ABSOLUTE JOKE! ARGOS CANNOT CARRY ON TREATING THEIR CUSTOMERS LIKE S**T!

they use rubish delivery company -yodel for smaller items

When I was ordered large items before, like- bed, matress and cooker and they was delivered by Argos own van - delivery, was promt and fantastic, they call all times 1 hour before delivery, to let you know when they will arrive.
But when I ordered a dinning table, what is small item- they use Yodel, and Yodel did'nt arrive in time stated 7am-1pm for next day delivery, they didn't arrive at all, they leave tracking info, that item was out for delivery, but then returned to depot without explanation. I call Argos to find out what happening and they contacted YODEL and Yodel say, that item will be delivered tomorrow, but next day, when I track, its says, that my dinning table is returned back to Argos, because I refuse delivery!!! What??? How can I refuse, If Yodel newer showed up? Argos say that only option for me is - to buy table again, yes wright, but they will return money only in 7 days and I don't have extra 100 pounds- to buy again! And table is in sale price, and when I get money back, table can be out of stock or sale can be ended.
Great- now I'm without money and without table. Thanks- YODEL!!!
Argos is a good company, but layed down by rubish delivery companies, like Yodell. I have previously bad expierence with Yodel, when buying from other shops, if I was knowing, that my table will be delivered by Yodel, then I will never buy it! Becouse I was thinking, that it will be delivered by Argos own delivery, what is great, but unfortunately, they deliver only bigger items by Argos own delivery- that they say to me.
