Ordered some garden furniture to be delivered . Had to wait 4 weeks for it to arrive ( so missed the sun) I had 2 no shows and then it finally turned up. The product is great shame about the delivery service . Would use Argos again !!!
Argos has good service, but tends to be slow if collecting. They have recently improved their stores.
Have ordered a bed and bed frame and dining room table from argos in the last few months. Both items were delayed significantly and they only ever let us know the day before delivery was planned. the bed was delayed by three weeks with an original delivery time of a week and the dining room table was delayed by two months! after an initial delivery time of 28 days. This is made far worse by the fact that they had my money for the 28 days before I cancelled the order. When I received the call to tell me the table would be delayed the man on the other end of the phone did not seem to understand why I was angry and just kept repeating "We've had to delay your order due to a lack of stock" Which I don't accept as they had had my money for 28 days, they could and should have ordered more stock!
Area : Blackburn
The staff were slightly unfriendly and i have sadly had to return 2 xbox's before the 29 days warrant ended due to faulty items . i can understand that it is not argos 's fault for the faulty xbox's however i just wish the staff were a bit more friendly in my area. two out of the three stores in the accrington/blackburn area are fab. however one of them is a let down.
Fix the staff issues and get better stock and this will become the old argos we used to love in this area.
Argos's customer services are appalling and I will never shop there again! 4 times I have experienced this dreadful service (once with a dyer, once with a corner sofa unit & twice with washing machines), I will not be tempted to to shop there again even if Argos were giving items away! They lie, are rude and unreliable. I have ordered a washing machine from my Grandma in her name and address but on my Argos account on-line and they had somehow received an order for me at my address and my Grandma at hers so when I got in touch with them to cancel one of the orders they had promised a refund into my grandma's account by the Wednesday and by the following Monday when we still hadn't got one my grandma phoned up to hear that the order hadn't even been cancelled and when I asked them to check there records because I had indeed cancelled they said that it had been cancelled but we should of gone in store for the refund but with no receipts as it was done on-line that would be imposable. They arranged for a refund to go into her bank account (again) and we checked the delivery address as they kept getting it wrong and it was still wrong. When the washing machine was delivered the fitter left the kitchen sink in a filthy state, good work men should always clear up after themselves. The refund still hasn't been paid and it has been 3 weeks since we called customer services to cancel the order!
I am writing to complain about the treatment I received during a visit to your central Brighton branch on Western road today.
My problem actually started last weekend when I came in store to purchase an ink cartridge for my Epson printer which I had also purchased from Argos a few months earlier. I asked the sales staff if it was the correct ink for my printer and she advised that it should fit all Epson printers but if not I could return it to the store and change it. But when I returned to the store today I was advised that because I had opened the cartridge I could no longer return it. I explained that I was never told this would be the case so the employee got the customer service manager Lucy to come and speak with me. After initially not believing me that I hadn’t been told I couldn’t open the product she then told me that the girl who had told me this was a new employee. I then explained that it was not my fault I had been given incorrect information and that I felt I should be able to get a refund but she said it wouldn’t be possible and gave me a complaints number I could call.
I called the complaints number and they agreed that if it was a new employee that had given me incorrect info then I would probably be entitled to a refund and that they would call the store then call me back. They called back after about 20 mins with a completely different attitude having spoken to the store service manager Lucy who had told them that I had said ‘I was originally told that I could go home to check the model no the return the cartridge as long as it was un-opened.’
This is a complete lie as I never said this or was told this I can only presume she said this to get out of the fact that she had told me the employee was new. I feel very upset that the manager has lied about me and was very rude to me in store. They never refunded my money and I am not even really bothered about the refund at this point any more I am just shocked about how rude is this employee and think argos should do something about it I run my own business I will never bear someone like her stay in my company to lose customers for me however argos - this company never responsed about it.

Argos changed delivery date on items, a bit inconvenient but we set up another date. I got a phone call on the morning of expected delivery to say that Argos wouldnt be delivering as there was a problem with one of the items. I had taken time off work with no pay, worse still as the items ordered were bedroom furniture and we had expected them that day, I had sold my old bed etc so we were left with no bed. 30 minutes on the phone on an 0845 number getting passed from piller to post, I ended up talking to a manager who was very sorry this had happened and promised to give us an air bed with a built in pump. When I travelled down to pick up this air bed it was a lillo type thing with a foot pump!!!. not what I had been promised and led to belive I was going to recieve. Argos - this is no way to treat your customers. We cancelled the order there and then. Argos didnt deserve to have the £799 that we were going to spend.
Simply got a HD cable for my new TV. Ordered online and picked up at store.
Very simple and good price
Purchased a small tv, the staff seemed very helpful.
I did find the new stupid touch screen stock checker is rubbish, I felt like kicking it....
Never had a problem until now, had many deliveries from argos and all well until today and find out why, they sent my parcel via Yodel, had many problems with them when I used to shop with Amazon so new what would happen. called earlier and was told they would get local depot to call me, Now 7:30 pm and no call, just called them and delivery coming out tomorrow, but what about my days wages lost, do they think I am willing to loose another, NO CHANCE, will not be using argos any more. They try to save money by using cheap couriers rather than royal mail and this is what happens, well they have lost my trade now as I have had enough of being let down when companies they use Yodel to deliver, am better off using normal shops.
Avoid Argos!! I'm just about to get married. On 6th of august I ordered two wedding rings for me and my Fiancé in Slough branch in Observatory shopping Centre. I specifically stated I need this rings before 28th of august and wanted to make sure I will have it delivered to the store on time. The lady said not to worry as the delivery time is never longer than two weeks. I placed my order for two rings and on 13th august collected my Fiance's ring. My ring still didn't arrive, and when I went to the store few days ago to check upon it's status again, the lady told me she cannot help me as the ring wasn't dispatched by supplier and she didn't know when will it be delivered. When I Told her how important it is for me to have this ring, she says she cant guarantee the ring to be delivered on time, she looked in her system and she found same ring but.... one size smaller in other branch in Reading. I decided to buy this ring as I didn't want to end up with no ring at all. The serving lady in Reading I finally got me the ring, but when I looked at it - it was looking well worn with lots of scratches and some dents on it. I don't want and I CAN'T keep this ring and now I have to return it as well as I have to return the ring of my fiancé. Now I have my wedding date set on 01.09.2012 but have no rings! Argos just simply ruined this most important day by its negligence and unreliability!! In any way I cannot imagine what can be done to fix this situation! It is Just UNACCEPTABLE! I am extremely disappointed and by every occasion I am going to worn people, telling them my story about the situation that Argos put me into, just to save them from ending up with nothing because of Unreliable and extremely incompetent company - Argos!
Those days have long gone you end up paying full price
Also unable to view product
Has to be my favorite retailer for the simple option of reserving stock online to pick up instore - I've yet to find an alternative store to make it as easy as Argos.

Ordered two scooters online and was given a delivery date. They didn't arrive after waiting in all day so I called to check and was told they were out for delivery and they had run out of time to make all the deliveries. They just arrived in a Yodel delivery van a day late. It's a good thing I was here to sign for them and could be at home. Not a great delivery service that Argos have outsourced to Yodel.
The delivery from Argos is excellent and I like the fact you can purchase an extended guarantee for a reasonable cost.
Argos back when was a joy to shop in. These days customer service is poor and it feels like a mix between the post office and costco.
Having lost the receipt for a microwave we bought 6 months ago I called the customer service line to see if it was possible to still get it replaced as the interior paint had peeled off and was cracked. The customer service line said I should take it back to the store and as the goods were faulty they would replace the microwave. How wrong they could be! Not only did the 'Customer Service Manager' speak to me like a naughty school child but she didn't even bother to ask what the actual fault was with the microwave and then wouldn't give me her name as it 'wasn't her policy' or put in writing the store policy on returns because 'she doesn't put anything in writing.' It may have been my fault that we lost the receipt and it may very well be the store policy not to offer refunds without it BUT firstly the phoneline and the stores should not give out conflicting information and a Customer Service Manager should learn to deal with customer complaints in a friendly and understanding manner. No-one should ever feel as frustrated and angry as I did walking out of that store today. Unhelpful, unacceptable and unfriendly. I shall never be using Argos again.
This shop is an okay one. All the stuff is ridiculously over priced compared to other sites like amazon.co.uk. I only really use it if I need to get stuff quick and can't be bothered to search for a cheaper price. I have had a few times where i have reserved an item and got to shop to find that they are out of stock which is annoying.

i personally would avoid purchasing any product/item from argos. Especially if its too large for store pick up and requires home delivery. Their customer service and home delivery is a sham. Its utterly appalling, changing delivery dates, coming up with poor excuses, failing to deliver product - item due to having NO stock, yet letting the transaction proceed! Informing you months after the item has be discontinued and you will not get you product-item even though they said it will be delivered.
Absolutely brilliant. If it's a good price here, get it here.
They are great for returns. I've returned an electrical item a long time after I bought it, without a receipt (just the card I bought it with), and they refunded me no questions asked. I know I can buy from here with confidence.
i was ordered bed and mattress the bed i never got it because it was out of stock i never get it any letter or call or email to explain that my items was out of stock but now i am waiting for mattress couple weeks and still do not get it they called me that system is broked and i will not receive my mattress today it will be never i think.i will never buy from argos again.

Ordered my bed on the 9th of july it was in stock bed failed to turn up on the 28th of july, no bed to sleep on now, Argos called i will get my bed on the 16th of August. They were great gave me a free airbed to sleep on. This is the second time they have failed.
38 days for a bed to be delivered that was in stock
never again, even there staff at the argos store says it's a joke.
If you want furniture i advise you to avoid argos we were wanting other items from argos but will try elsewhere.

I, as well as many of my family have bought many things from Argos over the years without complaint both in-store and on-line. On past experiences this company has been great....always delivered on time and so on! BUT this most recent order has got me very angry and upset! I have recently moved into my first flat with my children. We had no furniture and not much else to speak of!! I got a loan so that i could order the kids bunk beds and a fridge freezer as i thought these were the MOST important things we would need. i ordered these on the 9th of July....still nothing! 2 cancellations later and im now waiting for someone to call me in the next 5 days for another delivery date! its disgraceful. My children are sleeping on a floor which just isn't acceptable!! And its costing me a fortune to leave my house 3-4 times a day to buy fresh food which then has to thrown away. The upset they have caused my family is terrible! Now they are saying WHEN my goods are delivered they will DISCUSS a gesture of good will! hrmph......we'll see what happens there! This whole situation has upset me as i fully trusted Argos with my order....but seems they just took the money and haven't looked back! I was hoping to have bought my washing machine by now, but due to the money im paying out per day to feed my kids (and in this weather buying them cool drinks constantly) i now will not be able to afford this for some time to come!
I've shopped alot at Argos for many years, my mother used to say that I kept them in business. However, this has always been in the actual store.
My sister has made her first order with their Home Delivery service, which is still ongoing as they keep delaying her delivery. She ordered two items with them, both listed as in stock. A week later (and three days before the scheduled delivery), they called and said they were having problems with the suppliers (i.e. one, or both, of the items were not actually in stock). She, unhappily, rescheduled the delivery for ten days later.
This time, they call ON THE MORNING of the delivery and say that the item(s) are still unavailable, and that it is a short notice cancellation because it only just showed up on the systems. To say the least, seems like Argos need to update their systems and reconsider their suppliers.
This may seem like a minor inconvenience to some, but my sister has just moved into a new home and needs these items. One is a fridge freezer, and due to Argos' utter incompetence, she is losing a significant amount of money EVERY DAY because she is having to waste food as she has nowhere to store it. So that's how Argos is effecting her financially. The other is a set of bunk beds for her two children, who have to remain sleeping on the floor until Argos decide that they can finally fulfil their end of the deal.
Regardless of her personal situation, fact is fact. Claiming that you have an item in stock and available for purchase is selling under misinformation. Furthermore, agreeing to dates and being unable to meet these agreements abuses the contract to which the consumer agreed in purchasing these good.
They have offered to refund the £8.95 delivery cost, which doesn't come CLOSE to the amount that she has had to pay because of their incompetence , never mind the inconveniences and sufferings of her and her two children.
She was actually warned by friends beforehand not to use this service as they had experience problems, but thought that based on our in-store experience, Argos was a trustworthy company. I have since heard from other friends that they have had similar grievances.
This service is appalling and will cause you inconvenience, take up your time, and, depending on the particular situation, might actually cost you financially. Don't risk it.
I wanted to give this company no stars, but it turns out I can't submit this without giving it one.

I've used argos for many years and can honestly say that 99.9% of my purchases have been good ones. On the odd occasion I've not been happy I've been able to return for a refund or exchange for something else. Always happy to help attitude staff on hand.
Good to be able to find an item, read customer's reviews and check if it's available in a store locally, then be able to reserve it for pick-up.
bought a trampoline off argos that became unsafe through fractures in the leg welds, they were aware of this as they sent out strengthening clamps out to all their customers, unluckily for me this was too late. after much much corespondence argos refused to refund me because of the length of time we had had it, their total loss in the end as i and many of my family and friends havent been back since. i for one will never shop there again.

SOME OF THE PRICES ESPECIALLY ON GAMES ARE EXPENSIVE, THE 16 DAY MONEY BACK GUARANTEE IS NOT GOOD
Easy to use Argos system and like that you can check stock before picking up.
I can't speak highly enough of the Argos "experience".
User friendly with an incredible range of retail goods available.
