this lady is one of the best,,she found what i needed ,in no time at all bravo sheryl.(cortonwood store)
i've been doing up my bedroom so ive ordered a few items from Argos and my experience has been very good. reserved a dvd tower at my local store, it was there ready for me when i arrived, only had to wait 5 minutes in a queue. 2nd item was a tv stand for home delivery, arrived the next day no issues. last item was a double divan bed, i ordered it from argos as they had a 50% off beds, ordered it mid-feb and it arrived 7th march, it came within the delivery slot and driver rang me an hour before they arrived. when the bed arrived i had 2 very helpful guys who brought the mattress and bed upstairs for me. all in all very pleased with my experiance with Argos home delivery and i was shocked to see so many bad reviews for them, i must be either very lucky or people that are satisfied with the service dont review.
Bought my 42" Hitachi from Argos 6mnths ago its now faulty have to take it back and they'll send it for repair how long for there not sure up to 16days do I get a TV to use in the meantime ha you must be joking my kids will drive me crazy do the care NOT A JOT CAUSE THEY HAVE MY MONEY AND I DON'T HAVE A LEG TO STAND ON. Take my advice when buying a big item stick to a proper company with a proper repair service and proper aftercare.
I ordered my new Halogen Oven using the 'Click and Collect' service. I had the confirmation text sent to my husband's mobile phone and he went to collect the goods; he was highly impressed with the efficiency, from showing the confirmation text to the assistant, making the payment and collecting the goods he said he was out of the door in less than two minutes. Well done to the staff at the Guildford, Ladymead branch!!
Just wanted to say it's nice to find a company that actually gives great customer service! I bought my son an Innotab in July 2012, the screen broke within a month of him having it. I took it back to our local Argos store and they exchanged it without a quibble. The Innotab then failed to switch on in Feb 2013. I took it back to my local store again with the receipt and said that the Innotab wouldn't switch on. They said that they don't have a repair facility so looked to see if they had that item in stock. Unfortunately they no longer stock this item as a new model has been brought out. This was more expensive and I wasn't prepared to pay the price difference so asked for my money back which again without quibbling, they refunded my money. Fantastic service Argos, thank you!!
Every time I see Argos's prices, I get tempted. Over the past 2 years I have purchased many 'home' products from Argos in store (Bradford) and on line. The delivery men were aggressive, rude and unhelpful, the staff are incapable of saying anything other than 'computer says no' - even when their own website disagrees with them! Most of the products have clearly been repackaged, and when opened are faulty. Trying to return the item has been a nightmare when using home delivery. Returning to the store was easy, once you have waited half an hour for the disinterested staff to call your number. I will never, ever, ever use Argos again, no matter how low their prices are. You really do get what you pay for here.
Hi there, its me again...
Just came back to change my rating to this store as the fridge i bought on the 21st of January, still has not been fixed or exchanged for a new one. I was told now the engineer is coming on the 11th of March. Its been nearly 2 months...
Hopefully he will fix it.
Some of the staff seem to be polite and helpful but the service is unacceptable.
Appalling company. No interest in customer retention or assistance. Party when Argos dies.....sooner the better really. News flash folks......it's cheap for a reason. Roll the dice, take yer chance - but don't expect any assistance if it goes Peter tong...they are not interested in customers at all....
10ft by 6ft PVC goalpost. Got this for son for Christmas. First goalpost had faulty connectors and wrong number of parts. Returned to shop who said that if wanted a replacement, would have to pay an extra £20 as it had gone up in price. Really annoyed, but as it was a present and son desperate for new goal went along with it. The Salisbury store didn't have it in stock, so had to go back again, when product eventually came in. Have just tried to assemble this goalpost. Such poor quality: cross ections would not go very far into the corner connectors, so kept fally apart. Only two of the connectors were able to hold the PVC poles together without them spinning round. Last straw was fitting the net on ------- the PVC corner connectors fractured. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. IT IS SUCH POOR QUALITY. Back to the shop we go. Wonder what the customer service will be like.
I ordered some furniture at the beging of December as we are just buying a new home. My delivery date was for the 16th, which was fine. I got a call the day before to say tht they couldn't deliver it, but will be with me on the 19th. I cut short my weekend away to Dublin to receive them then I get a call the day before while I was away to tell e that they wouldn't be delivering them. When I asked why they told me that 1part of the order was no there. I told them to deliver the rest and I will wait for the ast part. I did get the main part if the items ordered on the date arranged, but over 2 hours later than told.
The last part was then booked to come on the 19th January, but due to the weather I didn't, which I accept. Was told that it would be with me on the 23rd. Time if delivery was between 7am and midday I got a call at 12.50 to tell me that wouldn't be arriving and that someone would be in touch in 48hrs. I did get a call and was told I could have it in the 5th Feb, almost 2 weeks later. I demanded to speak to a manager, which wouldn't let me get a word in. When I finally could talk, I asked what the problem was. She told me that they didn't have the item in stock as they where having problems with the supplier.
What I can't understand why book in delivery dates if they don't have the item. People are arranging time of work to stay in waiting for them. Shoud arrange delivery when they have the stock. I do know that they have arrange delivery and then sold it and the people ended up going to the shop to pick it up.
I was given 2 options, 1was to cancel it and get my money back or wait for it, which I don't want as its part of a set. 2 was to wait for it to arrive. Sh did offer me a good will gesture if a gift, I wait to see if that happens.
If it doesn't arrive on the 5th I will cancel it and get something very much the same from tesco direct.
Do not get anything on home delivery, they are rubbish. Come on Argos get your act together, thought better if this big company.
Overall very impressed with there service! Will shop here again.
I was impressed that you could choose time and date of your choice, then the night before the delivery you receive an automated service confirming the delivery and a time within a 3 hour window. on the day the delivery the driver calls you one hour before they are due to arrive.
it makes a change that you not having to wait indoors all day for a delivery.
i would definately reccomend this service to friends.
Generally these guys are great. The convenience of pre-ordering is good, although occasionally get handed a product that has obviously been bought before. Fair returns policy.
I purchased a hygena space saver dining suite and a 43" tv from argos. I explained that i live in a maisinette and i was assured that this wasn't a problem and the delivery men would carry my purchases up the stairs for me. On the day, they didn't carry it up the stairs, instead they left them in the porch for my son to carry. When we started putting the table and chairs together, firstly the screw holes were damaged and then the metal leg of the chair was cracked when we tightened the screw. I called argos and I was told that they'd collect the dining suite in a weeks time and i'd have to wait for another week for my refund. With regards to the delivery,I was told that it was at the drivers discretion whether or not they carry any parcel through the house. It's fair to say, I will think twice before I order from these again.
I ordered a set which can in 2 parts ,i received one of the parts but not the other. So i called in and the arranged to deliver it, it never came. Called again they arranged to redeliver it. Once again I called them to redeliver it and it never came! so i checked the site for the product i was waiting for, only to see that it was out of stock for home delivery. I have no idea why they didn't just tell me that so i could have picked it up from the store. So I ended up going to the store and it was out of stock by the time i got there. Argos ignored my emails trying to sort it out or get a refund. Never again!!
in june 2012 i purchased a metal shed for my parents who paid a proffessional to fit a wooden base and assemble the shed which was all ok,
becouse the shed was put up during the summer months it was fine and no problems untill the wheather change and winter set in,
there was a major condensation problem to the point that the cieling of the shed was dripping wet, all contents had to be removed and stored somewere else as the contents of the shed were sopping wet and even a very expensive vacuum would not work due to water damage the wooden base that had been placed down for the shed was getting mouldy despite a waterproof mambrane placed underneath the raised wooden base.
i contacted argos and asked them to collect the shed for a refund as it was clearly faulty argos advised that i will not get my money back however i could replace the shed or exchange it for another one.
after speaking to my parents they decided they would exchange the shed for another one but they were all out of stock.
i contacted argos back and spoke to the manager and explained the situation, the manager at customer service named kieron was very rude and unhelpfull so i had to speak to another manager steven ralf who told me to get independant advice meaning my parents would have to pay a vat registerd proffessional to come and have a look at the shed to confirm that the problem is a manufacturer fault.
after explaining this to my parents they agreed that to have profesional out to the shed was allot of messing about so they went on to look for another shed to replace the faulty one,
when i called argos back to replace the faulty shed for a different one i was told by rachel another customer service manager that i could not replace, exchange or have a refund untill they had receved an independant report, after arguing with the most horrid unproffessional rude and ignorant rachel of the customer service managers, i went looking for a carpenter to the the independant review on the shed, which was proving impossible to find a local one as i was told over and over again that they dont do that kind of work.
after a very frustrating day i recieved a call from another customer service adviser who had just recieved my letter of complaints she advised me that if i can find someone that would do the independant report of the shed i would recieve a full refund and argos would cover the cost of the independent report, i then explained to her that i had already been looking but no one would do that kind of call out i also explained that i was sick of spending my time on the phone trying to resolve this problem.. i said that i am very dissapointed in argos and i expect to recieve this kind of service from a backstreet rundown shop not argos, they are not only letting there customers down but themselves also.
the adviser then agreed to let my parents choose another shed to replace the faulty one.
so only after speaking to 4 customer service managers over 2 days via phone call 1 letter and allot of arguing my case, i finally get them to exchange the shed. tut tut argos things used to be good value for money and the customer service managers were allot more proffessional than they are now im not surprised there down on sales and losing money what goes around comes around.
really dreadful experience with a sofa delivered on the 3rd. Wish I had seen these reviews before ordering a high value item from Argos.
sofa arrived as promised but really was not good value, cheap and nasty, grey plastic legs etc (cost was over 770 GBP). Delivery guys said that there would be no problem returning it for a refund within 7 days. So, trustingly sent it back.
Have spoken to Argos Customer Services every day from the 3rd, they will not let me have my money back, I keep being told that there is a problem with their system which won't let them authorise a refund, has to be the technical department. Promised return phone calls, which have never happened. No reply to emails. Staff disinterested and ill informed.
I am moving house, can not move until I have a sofa and white goods, Argos are holding my money. There is no way I would recommend this shambles of a company. Nor will I spend any more of my money with them, as I intended, should I eventually get a refund.
I will be taking this to the Citizens Advice at the first available opportunity.

I reserved a bt 750 answer phone twin from the web site conformation was recorded at £49.99 picked it up at lakeside the next day and it had gone up £20 to 69.99 complained and was told to read information on reserve conformation where it states the reserve conformation is not the price you will be paying very poor service
I ordered some furniture online, managing to get a Saturday delivery slot after many problems with their website not working properly. The delivery slot was a few weeks in the future, confirmed via email. When the delivery day came, nothing arrived. I checked the tracking tool, and it stated that they would contact me to arrange a delivery time. I rang customer services who told me that the booking hadn't gone through properly and someone had tried to ring me the day before (they hadn't) and my delivery was put back another month. The person on the phone didn't take into account my complaint at all. Not happy.
I paid for tv aerial and installation on 9th Dec. I telephoned and made an appt. for installation, the installation company could not give me a slot and I was told engineer could turn up any time in the afternoon on the given day. The installers contacted me day before and cancelled the install due to lack of staff; engineer had gone off sick. We arranged for Thurs. 27th, i have taken the day off work, unpaid, to wait for installers and at 2 o'clock i get a call to say the engineer won't be coming he has gone off sick, i asked to speak to the manager and was told that i couldn't and that if i was put on hold i may get cut off after 2 minutes, after much persuasion on my part i was put on hold and 5 minutes later the manager came on the line, he said that he would try to sort out my querie and get an engineer to install today but was unable to and offered me an appointment for Sat. 5th Jan. I shall accept this appointment (watch this space!) but will not be spending any more money with Argos as their choice in Installation Companies is very unprofessional and needs to be changed.
WELL Saturday morning the engineer turned up pronto. A very nice chap who installed my aerial without any hiccups. I also received a phone call from the service manager to make sure the engineer had turned up and that i was happy with the installation. Shame really...why couldn't they have done this the first time round?
On 12th december 2012 went to buy a hitatchi 46" lcd for my partner who.has poor eyesight .. Item number 747/1003 price was £329 .. Same item was shown for collection same price £329... Tried to check out price had risen to £699 yes 370 quid more .... (origonal price when item 1st introduced in 2010 was only £549)
Printed out comparison page wich still.showed £329 for both items took it to an argos extra.. They cinfirmed price was £699 and had been changed online on the 11/12/2012.... Although showing as £329 on the 12th.... And their stock room had it listed as £329 down from 379 ..50 quid off... (note same item for store collection had no discount but was still 329)
Then as of 24december 2012 price is magically £349.... Down from (origonal price of £379... If this is origonal price why was it £699 for nearly two weeks) doesnt make sence
So had a look at a few others another hitatchi this time a 46" LED (home delivery price £399.... Identical item for store collection £499) so if they can try charge 700 for a tv using lcd ccfl wich is an older technolidgy how can they warrant selling a newer LED with similar specification for less in the nearly two week window from 12th dec to 24th ... Blatant price fixing and as usual the store collection items were "out of stock" for many stores accross the uk as i checked!
And before anyone says yes i know hitatchi isn't a great brand , but my partner just needs a large screen with basic functions without 3D , internet ect
And not willing to pay panasonic /toshiba premiums ...forget samsung as they have deals with retailers to over promote and demonstrate their tv's in a better light (samsung are displayed using hd sources..better brands are displayed using SD sources to.make samsung look better)
So in a nutshell avoid argos ...right shower of con artists ... Overpricing , price fixing inferior products ...and thinking no one would notice ....
On the 20th November my partner placed an order for a gift for our grandson's birthday which has now come and gone, no goods have been dispatched. After a week we rang customer service to complain the operator was full of apoligies assured us the goods would be delivered soon, again we waited no goods, this has gone on week after week phone calls emails with customer service ringing us all we get is sorry the goods will be dispatched, well we are now on 22nd December still no goods. We have dealt with argos over a number of years reserving and collecting our goods without any problem, the only reason this product was ordered online goods were not available in store. We could have purchased a similar item in other stores many times over but he is a pensioner and argos has his money so he can ill afford the cost and believes the service team every time they assure him the goods will be dipatched, we wont be using argos again very poor inernet customer service.
I bought a Samsung laptop from Argos with a 3 year warranty, The warranty was with Samsung. After having problems with it I contacted Samsung sent them 4 faxes, 2 recorded letters & numerous e mails & they kept saying they didn't receive them, I got in touch with Argos who found a copy of my original transaction & contacted Samsung on my behalf, but still didn't get anywhere with Samsung in the end Argos got in touch with their own legal team who were going to contact Samsung. Argos gave me the option of a new laptop or full refund, I had another laptop ( not a Samsung) one though. Argos were excellent and were so helpful in store and Customer Services at head office. Thank you Argos.
I have ordered an item to be delivered on Saturday and paid extra for it to be delivered then as working full time I could only accept delivery on Saturday. Estimated delivery time was 7am to 6pm and they were unable to specify the usual 4 hour time slot. Fair enough. But at 11am on Saturday I've received a text message saying that due to unforeseen circumstances the item could not be delivered today and will be delivered tomorrow. Having already made plans it was a bit inconvenient but I thought I'd give them a chance. But Sunday delivery? I didn't know Argos did Sunday home delivery? Unless it was extended service before Christmas. I checked online order tracking but there seemed to be an error so I couldn't get any further info. On Sunday morning I thought I better be safe and rang customer services first thing. Now to be fair, customer service staff was very friendly and apologetic and I always try and save my fury for people who deserve it and not poor customer service staff. So they checked my order and said the problem was that the item had not been sent to the warehouse at all. So there was no chance of delivery happening that day. Or following day. Apparently, 'it should be within next 7 days'. I was gutted not only that nobody called me to tell me that, but sent a text giving another delivery date that clearly could not be possible, but also having paid extra for Saturday delivery nearly a week in advance.. Anyway, I cancelled the order and will try get the item from somewhere else, somewhere more reliable as Argos also use yodel and I had numerous problems with them as well so even if the item was on Yodel van, that didn't mean it would arrive. Shame, as I used Argos home delivery in the past 5 years ago and experienced no problems whatsoever. Will I try again? No.
I ordered a laptop on the 1 of dec , to get delivered on the 3rd
Waited in all day called their customer service who said last del was 8 pm fair enough
No show , what's more frustrating I asked the Indian sounding lady if she could
Check if my laptop was on the van , she said yes she could , had to repeat my postcode as she couldn't understand finally we got there and the phone went dead , I'd been cut off no call back
Every since it's been a nightmare , I bought another laptop so I asked for a refund on the 4 th of dec , takes 7 working days ,,,when I called back to chase up my refund
Said they had put through a refund on the 10 th of dec ,, right still waiting on my money
It's really not what you need just weeks before christmas
Call centres a joke no help u get passed on to different departments ,
Get cut off too
Avoid them like the plague
Or just go to the shop
Which I won't ever do as I'm sick of the name Argos

Terrible service form Argos using their delivery service. Ordered an item which advertised 4 day delivery, 14 days still waiting! Initially advised after 5 days to give it another 5 days! so I did still no delivery was further advised there was a delay give it 48 hrs, still no delivery. 14 day into this Saga and not even a response this time. If it does ever turn up it will be straight back to the store for a refund as im not risking a Christmas not turning up for the kids so have ordered from Amazon!
No point in being half price if it never arrives, delaying tactics to paying customers. Obviously this was not in stock yet still taking payments!!
PS. Argos I ordered a gift from Amazon on the 9th of Dec and it arrived on the morning of the 11th (free standard delivery).
If I could it would be no stars, You will go the way of Comet if this carry's on!
My wife and I ordered a TV from Argos and we experienced no problems with that. However we took out an Argos Card at the same time and the TV was paid via that. I paid the first installment at my bank and all was well. A call 2 weeks later revealed they could not find the payment. I sent confirmation Recorded Delivery. 2 weeks later another call "we've not received your first payment". Sent a new copy. A few weeks later a letter about Court Action for non-Payment. Several phone calls later (several being necessary as the previous ones were not actioned) and yet another threatening letter arrives. Our Credit worthiness has now been affected.
I write a formal letter of complaint. After some 3 months and 2 dozen phone calls the matter is resolved.
My wife and I would not touch Argos with a barge pole after this "fun".

I purchased a PlayStation 3 bundle from Argos, there was a problem with the controller....was told buy Argos to send the controller back (whole process supposed to take 5 days) ....their suppliers then advised they wanted the whole bundle back....to cut a long story short It is now 7 weeks down the line I have no PlayStation I've had numerous broken promises and am yet to have a refund. Honest opinion.....use a different company.

Ordered 3 things from Argos totaling £300, and they charged over £8 delivery, when others give free for larger orders. Fair enough, but they are yet to fulfil the order, and will not until December 13th, so I contacted them via their website (through email).
No response, they do not even acknowledge I have sent them a complaint. After watching Watchdog this week, I found out Argos are ripping off people by using a premium rate number just for complaints, so maybe thats what their waiting for, to earn of every complaint.
Very poor experience.
