Hanging on the telephone

I tried to make a payment via the phone which proved to be impossible last month. It is a voice responsive service and after a very frustrating time of providing my details, right at the very end said " You will be passed through to an advisor" !!!!!!!! Have had to wait at least 15 minutes to get through to someone and was sent a penalty for a late payment..... I closed my account today, what a joke.

Absolute waste of space

Placed an online order today and paid with my card (£461) when I got the confirmation page at the end, the main item was now out of stock but I had been charged for the delivery and extra insurance cover. II rang up and was on hold for 10 mins then the woman said she needed to put me through to another woman, another 20 minutes later this woman then said that she could not check my order number so would have to put me through to another department but promised that I would not have to hold. Guess what? Over an hour had passed before the guy on the phone said that I had not been charged for the out of stock item. I tried to explain why it had shown as a full order but wasn't complete. He couldn't grasp what I was saying. He then denied what I had been charged for but my bank account had been debited by £61 for the extra cover and delivery and we had an email confirming this but he refused to accept this. I am very angry at Argos. This was only the second time I have used the online service because the first time I used it, many years ago, I had missing orders after paying for delivery and ended up having to collect the items from the store, with no offer of a refund.

DISAPPOINTED

Had my first Argos experience today in Northfield Birmingham, I was greeted by a large group of potential customers being turned away from the store! On closer investigation the reason for this outrage was conveyed to us by Rodger, Rodger is the deputy manager I know this because pinned to Rodgers chest was a big shiny badge confirming his status within the Argos organisation.
Roger was informing the congregation that under no circumstances was he allowing anyone into the store because of a system failure, Rodger told us that the problem will take 30 minutes before the issue is resolved and that we should come back then……
One lady asked could she enter the store to browse through the cetology as she was not sure what present she wanted to purchase, Rodger the deputy store manager said no, even though the store contained a number of customers doing just that!
I asked Rodger the sales prevention office, sorry the deputy manager with the big shiny badge if he could confirm that the item I was looking for was in store he said he was unable to because the system was down,
I asked Rodger with the big shiny badge for the number for customer services, Rodger asked why! I informed Rodger that if he was unable to assist me then customer services would, (at that moment I noticed that the shiny badge was beginning to lose some its shine)
The Customer service department were able to confirm that the item was out of stock but I could order it I must say they were very polite and helpful.
My name is John I have my own business and I have a retail shop, shiny badges mean nowt. How you treat people is the key. I wonder were the manager was, and worse still when a potential customer leaves your store will they come back.
And finally …. Are today’s deputy managers, tomorrow’s managers?

absolutely dreadful stock system

its about time Argos updated their systems, I searched countless products online to find once I checked that they were either unavailable for online delivery and then not available in any local stores.

It would be so easy for them to filter out and hide on request all items out of stock online or in local stores.

I felt that I wasted a lot of valuable time searching for products and when I decided to go into my local store Evesham, it just got worse!! The touch screens are slow to react and I had to press buttons several times for it to acknowledge my request. I walked out once fuming and only went back because my son really wanted this one particular thing a Skylanders character Set.

I ended up having to purchase two separate characters at an additional 5.00 cost and was so fed up with the whole shopping experience I will not be repeating it.

Argos - you need some serious investment in your technology or watch while the likes of Amazon steal all your customers away.

Dreadful!!!!!!!

We ordered a sofa from Argos and was informed it would be delivered on the 8th of December 2013 after waiting in all day and with no contact from Argos themselves we eventually rang there 0845 higher call charge customer service centre. This is when the trouble began...... We were informed the sofa was not even in stock and should not expect delivery until the end of January, unfortunately due to expecting delivery of our new sofa on the 8th of Dec we had parted with out current sofa to make room. Due to this we were informed we could choose another sofa which could be delivered in time for Christmas with £25 compensation added on due to their mistake great!!!! So on the 20th of December we again waited for the arrival of our sofa as promised and guess what???? No phone calls and no sofa.... After contacting Argos's dreadful customer service centre we were again informed the sofa we had been promised delivery of for the second time was also not in stock. It seems Argos are happy to sell items they do not have in stock and give customers completely made up delivery dates just to make a sale. They have no regards for customer satisfaction and are unreliable and unhelpful in every way. I would not recommend using Argos for any item which requires delivery unless you like surprises and are willing to wait and see when your item will finally arrive.

HIGH SLEEPER BED

The bed is okish for the money, but is roughly made , eg just spot welded and the finish is very thin and rubs off. The middle support leg on futon base the bolts came lose , hence threads were shot, so I had to drill through and put new nuts and bolts in with loctite! The futon it self is wafer thin and very uncomfortable. The whole bed is made very quickly therefore not quality! Ok and forgot to say the bed slats were very tight to fit, so having to use a rubber mallet , I broke half a dozen clips, and the job we had to get replacements from argos was a joke, they wanted to send out another bed , after it took us three to four hours to put this one up, then in the end they said they could not supply just the clips! it had to be the whole bed! So we opted for a slight discount, and I taped the lose slats in with duck tape!!

Its not in stock, oh yes it is.

Absolute disgrace will never set foot in an argos store again, or part with any money on line to them again. Order a bed and frame and 19 DAYS LATER TELL ME IT IS NOT IN STOCK, ring up day after and it is in stock.

Don't use Argos for delivery

Purchased a ring online and had a choice of delivery dates from Tuesday onwards. Chose Thursday as I was working from home. Website said delivery due between 7AM and 6PM and that the item had been dispatched.
Nothing arrived, called Argos on Friday to be told - we use a courier company and we've delivered it to them but it doesn't look like they received their instruction on what to do with it until Midnight last night..
If you've not received it before 9PM tonight call us again. (Customer service closes at 8PM so i'll call them the following day)

Primarily ARGOS - i don't care who you use to deliver it, you are responsible, so please don't pass the buck.
Then to say because we've sent it to the courier company you can't order a new one or issue a refund is rubbish, that's buck passing again. Take responsibility for your actions and the courier company you are using.
I was then also patronisingly told that i hadn't needed to wait home as the item doesn't need signing for.... well... if the thing doesn't fit through the letterbox I need to be in or they will take it back to their depot which is probably nowhere near where i live.
A very disappointing experience and a present won't have arrived in time for my Christmas visit to the person who needs it!

Poor delivery service

I ordered a food blender and paid for it to be delivered. (I had a £5 voucher that could only be used online so it was cheaper to have it delivered than to collect it from the store). Ordering was fine - delivery due on Thursday. Waited around all day Thursday; kept checking internet where it said that my goods were out for delivery and would arrive between 7am and 6pm - but they never came. Rang the customer services first thing on Friday. "Oh no" she said "the blender didn't arrive in the depot until last night so it couldn't have been delivered yesterday - it will come some time today". Why couldn't they have told me that before? No - Argos do not care that someone sits in waiting all day for no reason.
The parcel did arrive on the Friday. I couldn't afford to spend another day waiting so they threw it into an outhouse.

Bad service

1. I was supposed to have my bed frame delivered today by 8pm - didn't arrive. So I called the office - office is closed. So i don't know what's going on...
2. I also ordered a matress - while placing an order the information says it will be delivered within 7 days, after I placed an order - I found out it will be delivered much later...
3. There are adverts in catalogue and online saying that there is a 15% discount on the matress if it's ordered together with a bed frame. I ordered matress together with a bed frame, when I went to the till to pay - the staff knew nothing about a discount! Can't they do the job properly?!

AVOID Argos! Use Amazon or Ebuyer instead.

After spending over £650 on furniture with Argos we had a series of problems.

1. Broken Furniture Handles
2. £20 Voucher failed to work dispite being within expiry date
3. Several Ignored Emails to their customer services about handles and vouchers
4. Abusive, Argumental Staff when we called.

What sort of company of their size allows this to happen, and when notified of it thinks it's ok to be abusive to their customers? Im fuming after speaking to their shoddy support team manager. Just apologising and renewing the vouchers would have converted me back into a customer and earnt them a lot more than £20. It's disgraceful, and afwul business sense too, especially considering what I've spent with them on this purchase and in the past. I will NEVER buy from them again and hope they do a Woolworths and disappear for good. Make the smart move and look at Amazon, Ebuyer and other online stores if you want a decent level of customer service. Argos don't care about you once they have your money!

Three times a FAIL on delivery. Never Again.

* Mon, 9th December, ordered hand weights and a double bed frame. Stated delivery for the Wed 11th December. Anytime between 7am and 8pm.
* Email comes through, no, delivery is the Thursday 12th between 7am and 8pm. I take a day off work to receive the delivery
* 2:45pm, delivery arrives of the weights. I ask the driver where the bed is. His reply: "I don't know, I don't work for Argos"
* I call Argos asking where my bed is. Some rambling comment of the order not being refreshed - despite me ordering the weights and bed at the same time. I organise for delivery on Tuesday 17th December. Another day off work.
* 4:45pm, I call Argos to ask about the delivery. Their response? You organised it to be delivered tomorrow. Ha!! No, because I was reading the date directly off my calendar as it was the only day I could get off and the date was repeated back to me.
* I send an email of complaint. I receive a call an hour later by a man who was actually very understanding and apologetic - the only positive experience I had with this company. He confirmed it will definitely be delivered tomorrow (Wednesday), as it shows it is all ready to go and just needs to be loaded onto the delivery van. Only reason it won't come through is by "an act of God".
* My fiance takes a day off work to wait at home. I call at 3:30pm just to check it is going to be delivered. Their response? After checking the "tracking details" she tells me that it is still in a secure compound!!
* She contacted a manager who is trying to find a store which has it in stock to deliver today and apparently I will hear from her within the hour. It has been 20 minutes so far. I won't hold my breath.

WILL NEVER EVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN!! Three days of myself and my fiance's holiday days wasted, waiting at home for a delivery that never came.
I suggest you don't waste your time with this company.

Uncaring, poor service.

Ordered some sofas in November and was given a delivery date of Dec 5th. I spent the weekend disposing of my old furniture only to be told on Dec 3rd that my furniture would not be arriving. I was given no reason for the failure. Delivery was rescheduled for Dec 17th. I waited in on the day but no furniture arrived, despite the assurances of Argos that they would monitor my order and inform me immediately if there were any more problems.
I rang to chase the order and was told that my sofas were at the depot and although they were on the driver's paperwork, they hadn't been loaded on to the van. Again, no reason was given. I was told that they couldn't rearrange delivery before Christmas. I said that I wanted my money back immediately. I was told that it would take 5 working days to refund my money. They refused point blank to make a direct money transfer to me claiming that it couldn't be done. I have been left with no furniture and no funds to order elsewhere. Argos didn't seem to care at all that they have left me in this position just one week before Christmas. Shop elsewhere.

Disgraceful

Bought a dining room bench which broke (the wood was jointed rather than a solid piece of wood, therefore it separated at the join). Argos promised us a replacement and then changed the delivery date 3 times. On the evening the bench was supposed to b delivered the driver contacted us to say that he was collecting the faulty one but had nothing to give us in return. After yet another lengthy call yet a 4th date was arranged. The very next day we were contacted to be told they could not get the bench before January 6th ( another 3 weeks). I explained I needed it as I was hosting Christmas dinner and need somewhere for my guests to sit. I was offered £50 discount off another item but I wanted my furniture to match so this was of no use to me. I have since been on the website and the same bench is still for sale advertising delivery for the 19th December. This is absolutely disgraceful and also very deceiving. They are offering a product that they are clearly unable to deliver, either that or they can meet the demand for people buying it brand new rather than those needing to replace faulty goods, ie those who are paying for it rather than those who's money they have already taken.

Shocking

Bought a Bush Twin Cavity cooker model AE56TCS less than three years ago. We took out insurance which we have used for repairing the cooker. So far the oven element has gone three times. This last time we had the engineer come on the 18th November, to date still waiting for the cooker element - so no oven working. I bought an oven element from Amazon, it came Friday and I fitted it. The element fitted last time by the Argos engineer had only two electrical connectors on the element - so there engineer taped the earth cable to a live cable - to me a fire risk ?. The cooker element should have three terminal fittings - not two Argos. We have phoned the insurance company for the electrical company's phone number and they gave out the wrong number - a delaying tactic.?. I replied to a lady who wanted to know where to buy a cooker element on the Argos site, this being on Friday last, I replied by saying she could get one off Amazon and left a negative feedback on the cooker, however had to wait for Argos approval on my feed back. Had an email saying they would not put negative feed back on there site.. Well Bush used to be a good English brand some years ago - not now it's owned by Argos and made in China ?....

disgusting

Purchased a table and chairs from them. Gave a FOUR week delivery date. Product arrives, I open the box for the table and all the polystyrene inside is broken and the large wooden slats under the table are broken. I check the packaging and can see impressions of footprints. Great warehouse/delivery staff who like to walk over your products. I telephoned and told we will replace in another FOUR weeks. Refused that and asked for refund, which they'll only give back once they've collected the goods. They can manage to collect in a week ?? Don't buy furniture products from argos !!

Shocking Customer Service

Upon receiving a faulty product which took two men to deliver, being a large item, Argos tried to pass the blame onto the manufacturer and said they would be out to repair it. After lots of hassle emailing several different departments, I eventually got Argos to come and collect it to issue me with a refund. 12 days later and I am still waiting for my refund, with pathetic excuses each time I email to enquire about it. Absolutely awful!

shark go away

I purchased this product after seeing amazing things this product can do..
after watching 30mins shopping video. I bought this product from argos, read the do,s and do nots, followed the instructions to the letter. and what did this product do. STEAMED THE LAMINATE OFF MY WHITE KITCHEN DOORS, please dont tell me I should not have used it on my kitchen cupboards as it states clearly that you can. I used the lift away , and that only used the dust setting. so I am told by manufactuers, oh yes and told to do a test area , but the fault did not start until the following day after drying out. Argos refuse to help me, I only want to replace my kitchen doors. Does anyone have any help they can give me, what to do next. Thank you
