It took arguscarrentals.com about 12 emails to get me my rental car . This I found, is hardly surprising. When I arrived on Friday, November 24, 2013 and tried to get a rental car for the weekend I was told by ALL rental agencies at the airport, rather gleefully, that there is not one car available. I have not seen this ever before. Conclusion ? The rental car agencies need to pick up their game and increase their stock ! How often has this happened before ? I missed out on seeing the scenic beauty of one of the most scenic places on earth, as on Monday, November 25, 2013 it was raining like hell ! Thank you all rental companies at Saint-Denis airport, you have failed tremendously ! Do you really enjoy seeing paying customers walking out the door ? As for arguscarrenatls.com - thank you, you did your best.
Found the site very easy to use and the choice of vehicle was very good. The only thing was on the voucher it wasn't totally clear who the car firm was. As it turned out the hire firm was Record. These were very easy to find at the airport and the staff were very helpful. The only down side was after being told where the car was ( what number parking bay ) we weren't told what level it was parked on.
Returning the car was very simple and no fuss at all.
Overall the whole rental was well worth the cost and will def use again.
I hired a car i Malta for a week. It was very cheap (about (€45 ) so that was a good start. I had an easy set up meeting with the hire company (Green Motion) and found that my car was virtually brand new and in great condition. No complaints whatsoever.
Argus car hire was the best value to be had when we travelled to Bristol at the end of November 2013. I also liked the choice offered online, to choose other options on car insurance apart from the basic cover that was included in the price.
One small note: At the airport we looked for a sign for Argus but discovered that this in fact is the name of a broker and we collected the car from Enterprise. This detail was written on the print off confirmation but I missed it!
Car was clean and comfortable and staff were most helpful, informative and friendly.
The only downside is that National is the only car rental place at Cancun´s airport that closes at 11 PM and my flight arrived at 0:30, so, I had to take a cab to Playa del carmen that cost me $70 Dollars. Other than that, it was just fine.
WE LANDED AT BUDAPEST HALF AN HOUR LATE,THE COMPANY REPRESENTOR WAITED FOR US ,AND IN A FEW MINUTES WE WHERE ON OUR WAY . SAME THING WHEN WE CAME BACK THEY WAIT FOR US AND IT WAS A VERY SHORT AND FAST CAR RETURN.
The service provided was exemplary in every manner from the initial booking right through to the interaction with customer service staff at both collection and drop off. All staff are to be commended for their efficiency, courtesy and service provided.
I would recommend Argus car hire. Prompt service at pick up and drop off through SixT. Web site easy to use. I needed clarification of the fuel policy and the insurance options - both were answered fully by call handler. Thank You.
Very hppy with the service provided. The car was clean and very nice to drive and a god price. They even returned an item I had accidentally left behind in the car when I returned it which was over and above what I woud have expected so very happy.
The Arguscarhire website is easy to navigate and quickly provides an overview of available cars. The only negative was that the car model I selected was not even in the fleet of the rental company and I had to accept an alternative. [ I realize this is not the responsibility of argus but they might check these things ]
There really excellent on the price.. Wish I went for there excess reduction policy£5,30 per day.. As euro car charged me £30 per day wasn't too happy but waited too late.. The car requested wasn't to the size I wanted, boot space was too small.. Requested a 4 suitcase space but got a two suitcase space.. But car was good quility an new..
My car hire company was Green Motion which are based 2 minutes outside the Airport.
Mark one of the employee collected myself and others at the pick up point as arranged
and dealt with me brilliantly. Due to a wait for the customers before me who had some language barriers, I was given a upgrade due to me waiting which was appreciated.
This is the second time I have used Green Motion and cannot fault the lads. On returning the car I was taken back in no time to the airport.
Great service and car if we had one little thing to moan about it is the price charged for the fuel, we would rather pay more 4 the car hire than be ripped off with a ridiculous fuel charge but overall very good and would use again
The sentence above says it all.
Only complaint: I pay for a full tank and I am to return the car empty. In a place like Fuerteventura that is not possible. You should deliver and receive with full tank. The other is just a moneymaking machine, which will make us take another company next time.
Since the first time I used it, Argus has proved to have the cheapest fares I always find, most of the times even including extras (Like gas, insurance, etc). The website is easy enough to navigate, and the process is simple: They send you a vouche that you print and present at the rental desk. The drawback is that sometimes you don't see which company you're renting from until you've actually paid.
Avis pulled a stroke saying that the drivers door lock had been tampered with ..... No way! The car was garaged every single night from 5.30pm and as far as being tampered in the daytime, the car was within our site all the time plus we never, ever leave anything in a hire car that can be seen, not even a reading book! We were furious because we personally never used the key just the remote. The chap who checked the car on return attempted to use the key to open door as though he knew there was a problem, In our experience they always use the remote to check fuel situation. Not happy!!!
Holiday Autos who are also linked with cartrawler are a terrible company to do business with, they advertise cheap prices especially on travelsupermarket and then their hire car company partners such as marbelso and firefly add unauthorised charges such as late fees and massively inflated fuel charges against other car rental companies at Malaga airport especially when the late fees shouldn't have been added in the first place.
I have been in touch with Holiday Autos /Car Trawler at least 6 times over past 4 months over two seperate rentals, they have offered partial refunds but still these have'nt been applied. I have had to chase them under s75 of the consumer credit act and threat legal proceedings - so be prepared to chase folks as they are horrendous at refunding these charges.
The hire company was pleasant to deal with, although pick up from Milan Malpensa T2 took ages. We were given a Fiat Bravo Turbodiesel instead of the Fiesta petrol car (or similar) expected. Condition of car - every panel had some dent or scrape! Take out extra insurance to cover excess etc. from UK. Diesel costs are similar to UK but unleaded equivalent to 10p per litre more. Would use again.
Well it all began well. A bit of strange website, but doable. Got my car reservation done ...
Then next morning I get a phone call from a guy from the actual rental company. And I am told that they have my reservation, but I have to pay extra 16 euros for winter tires! WHAAAT?? I have to pay extra for having tires on my rental car?? I went ahead and carefully read one more time all the small print. NOTHING about winter tires at all!
Now I am getting a bit disapointed and the next day I make another reservation with another rental company. And guess what now: around midnight!!! on Friday night I get a phone call from the same guy. He is asking me why am I making two reservations for the same time, like do I need two cars... I have now clue how he has found out about my second reservation.
I told that punk that I have no interest in discussing with him what and why am I doing. Am I a grown adult after all and I can make as many reservations as I want to. He replied something like: "well, this is wrong" and hung up!
All of these events taking place in two days, and two months before the actual rental time! Why in the world I need to be bothered at midnight?? What is the big urgency??
Sooo, in the morning I write a long complain to arguscarhire.com, explaining all of what is going on and telling them that I have no desire to pay extra money for funky business like they do. A day later I get a this reply:
"Thank you for your recent enquiry regarding our cancellation policy.
I would like to inform u that our policy says that if the booking is cancelled:
· within 7 days of the reservation date and at least 48h before pick up time, all funds will be reimbursed;
· outside 7 days of the reservation date and at least 48h before the pick up time, all fund except a cancellation fee of 25 EUR and the card processing fee (where applicable), will be reimbursed. If a placement fee is less than 25 EUR then only a placement fee will be kept as a cancellation fee;
· less than 48h before the pickup time, no funds will be reimbursed.
According to the above there will be no cancellation fee and all funds will be reimbursed to your account.
Please advise us as soon as possible if you wish to proceed with this cancellation."
WHAT?? Like no sorry, no excuse us! No let us explain! Just "if you want to go - go ahead and go!"
And then the final: two days later i get a message: "your reservation has been cancelled! We have refunded your bank account." Like: "ba-baaay, don't come back".
By the way, nothing has been refunded to my account 4 days later. I will probably never see my deposit again.
My advice - stay away from these people, they know nothing about customers service at all and the people that they partner with are a bunch of punks!
Argus has a very clear web site which is simple to use. Prices are low and competitive. The car rental process worked out very well in Cape Town at Thrifty. Argus is highly recommendable.
