I have only used their food delivery service once and never again. Their website is fine and the whole process of ordering was simple and quick. The problem is that they 'freeze' the cost of the order, before it has been picked. A few items were not in stock, so the amount charged was less. They then proceded to debit the actual amount as well. The orginal order was about £80 and the revised amount was about £65, so they had taken the smaller amount but they do not have a policy of 'unfreezing' the original amount, which according to my bank, they should do. Fortunately the bank does automatically unfreeze ater a week if a company does not actually debit it.
The point is that I was unable to touch that £80 for a week and what would have happened if I had needed that money, or if I didn't have sufficient funds in my account cover both amounts. I spoke to ASDA about it, who just kept repeating that it was company policy and the man refused to put me through to someone more senior. Waitrose and Sainsbury's do not charge you until your order has been picked.
My other gripe was that I was not impressed by the quality of the 'fresh' food.
