Never really write reviews, with asda online the goods are as you would expect from any high street retailer, the only downside is if you have any issues at all you cannot contact anyone in the uk to help. The asda customer services are based in South Africa and they are about as useful as an ejector seat in a helicopter, if you buy from asda do it in store or use amazon
Placed shopping orders but the website now not letting me amend them. Spoke to the customer service people in South Africa who told me that they were having technical difficulties and that because so many people were using the website they had 'frozen' the amendment function and even if I could amend my order, doing so might cancel out my order and make me lose my slot. Nothing on the website so say they might be having technical difficulties and this has been going on for months. Not Impressed ASDA, you are crap!
Their call centre is so useless, nobody knows what's happening. The supervisor doesn't either. The delivery times are poor, plenty of substitutions and if you're oprders cancelled you have to rearrange for another day. Infuriating.
UTTER DISGACE FOR A SERVICE AND SHOULD BE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY!!!!! THIS IS NOT A SERVICE THAT WORKS......I TRIED TO ORDER I TUNES VOUCHERS, WOULD ONLY ALLOW ME TO ORDER ONE AT A TIME AND I WANTED SIX!!!...PLACED SIX ORDERS, RECIEVED EIGHTEEN EMAILS!!!! SIX STATING THAT THEY ALL HAD BEEN CANCELLED....NO EXPLANATION....CALLED TEHM...MY GOD, THEY HAVE NOT GOT A CLUE...PERSON I SPOKE TO WAS HOPELESS SAID THEIR WAS SOMEONE WRONG WITH IP ADDRESS FOR EMAILS...TOLD ME TO ORDER AGAIN.....GUESS WHAT....ANOTHER 18 EMAILS LATER 'ALL' ORDERS CANCELLED AGAIN!!! AND 2 HOURS OF MY TIME WASTED....UTTER DISGRACE FOR A SERVICE I WILL BE TAKING THIS FURTHER !!
I ordered wine from Asda and received substitutions that have 'alcohol removed' or 'low alcohol' on them! I paid for alcoholic wine to be given as gifts, and everytime i ring they keep telling me the store will call me back! i have now been waiting 7 working days and no phone call. This has now been my 5th time ringing Asda and still no avail! i am truly stuck and they don't seem to care!only consolation is that the customer services team are nice and it's not their fault!
I placed an order online at Asda last week, taking advantage of their click and collect service. The total was £40. When I went to pick up my order, the member of staff came to me with three items totaling £6 as the rest wasn't available, ushering me a meagre 'sorry'. How ridiculous, a company as big as Asda can't have a better stock control system than that?! As if that wasn't bad enough, the money for the entire order has been held by my bank, and I have been expecting (for 5 days) that the difference, (£34) would simply ping back into my bank account. It hasn't. On contacting Asda, they are adamant that they need a fax number for my bank to request that they release my payment. My bank are also adamant that this isn't a procedure they are used to and don't have a fax number they can provide, telling me that it should be Asda who inform their merchant bank that the order is incomplete who then in turn inform my bank that the funds are no longer required, releasing the payment. In my opinion, this should have activated as soon as I signed for the £6 of my order I received. Instead, I have had to make over 10 stressful phone calls as the go between with Asda and the bank, who are both providing conflicting information. In my opinion, as the customer this should not be my issue to rectify, and instead it should be Asda that take care of this process, releasing the money back to my bank. Instead, I am now left with 69p in my account, on the 16th of December, until I get paid. It's utterly disgusting. Asda refused to help me any further and continued to argue the point that they need a fax number, which I am incapable of providing. I can't believe that the entire process is hinged on a fax machine and that Asda are happy to let their customers face the stress of this situation when the issue has been caused by the fault with their process!
I wouldn't use this service again, and I doubt I will use Asda again. It incomprehensible that they are satisfied that they have helped me. They wouldn't entertain the idea of a refund despite being able to see the order in my account and instead were quite happy to tell me repeatedly that I have to get a fax number from my bank. I just can't believe that they put their own customers in the situation where they have to sort this out for themselves! As yet, I don't have the money back and I'm unsure I will even get it back. So thanks, Asda. Really good work.
As it so happens, I used the Tesco click and collect service on the same day, and it was absolutely seamless.
I purchased, and subsequently cancelled,a whistling kettle from Asda online:not available in their shops. 5 days,3 emails-all unanswered- and many phone calls later,I am still awaiting confirmation of cancellation and refund. The people in the South African call centre are pleasant, but ill-informed and difficult to understand. I 'm steeling myself to make yet another call to ask for an official complaint about the awful service to be set up: I won't hold my breath! Do not use .
Purchased a Chelsea three piece suite from Asda direct and was given a delivery date of by 30-11-2013 but it did not arrive. I phoned their customer services seven or eight times over the following nine days to find out where my suite was and each time I spoke with some one different in a call center in Africa and they were all hard to understand and I kept having to say "sorry can you repeat that" Each said they would contact the suppliers and promised to call me back later that day. I did not receive one call back from any of them. Finally out of frustration on 6-12-13 I demanded to speak to a manager and was put through to a manager named Danny who said he would sort it out and call me back which he did and said he had arranged for delivery between 8am and 9am on 9-12-13. By 1pm when it had not arrived I was back onto customer services and finally at 2m it arrived. I took the wrapping off and immediately saw that the sofa material was faulty having marks on the backs and the material on one of the seat cushions had actually been sewn on backwards stood out a mile and looked awful. Back onto customer services and sent them photos of the faults for a return of the items and they said they would arrange collection by the couriers. Five days later I receive a phone call from the courier to collect a foot stool from a Mr Chelsea. I told them it was Mr Fenton and it was a Chelsea three piece suit I did not have any foot stool. The courier told me they could not collect as Asda customer services had got it completely wrong on their order and I would need to speak to them again. Back onto Asda customer services "will speak with courier and call you back" Still waiting a call back they are appalling I would give them minus 5 stars if I could.
Tried to buy a game console online coz it wasn't available instore and you couldn't order it instore either. But despite three different cards all with sufficient funds kept getting a message to phone the call centre (in south africa) to place the order. All they could say was to keep trying coz they couldn't help either. Clearly the only reason they had stock availability was because nobody could buy it. Read this Asda and take note.
6 weeks ago bought 2 dressing gowns(different sizes) and top. 3 weeks was waiting for delivery, finally wrote an email to ASDA customer service, but no response. Other day called them, lady said that I will get my delivery in 48 hours, after another week I wrote them another email, because there was still no delivery, but no response again. Then called second time, the answer was like first time - delivery in 48 hours.......... So how many days are 48 hours?????
Delivery not made for groceries. No one contacted me. Call centre refused to refund the delivery cost even though 24 hrs later I do not have the items they are meant to have delivered! Had to argue with them till they refunded delivery cost. Was told someone from the store would contact me. Noone has 18 hours after delivery time . They have charged my account for the groceries I do not even have and refund will take 10 days. Ironically this was me giving then a second chance after the exact same thing happened a year ago where they repeatedly told me my delivery would be with me with the next hour , for an entire 24 hour period. No apology, money taken from my account for no groceries delivered. Just appalling.
Went onto their site to complain about the delivery company they use DPD. Asda direct even worse. Apparently it's acceptable for planned deliveries of expensive items not to arrive. They can't see a problem with taking another day off work in case they decide to revisit. No managers to speak to or web site to complain on. Do yourself a favour and avoid altogether.
The worst customer service/shopping experience ever. Order has been delivered to wrong address and Asda refusing to refund money. Accusing me of stealing it even though the delivery company quoting to deliver in to block of flat on my street. There is NO flats on my street just houses!!! Hours spend on the phone to call centre in South Africa, I have been lied to, never called back and NEVER transferred to speak to manager. I'm robbed and totally demoralised. Needs trading standards investigation.
Delivery driver was very late and rude. Blamed me for asking too! Customer services suck, they don't follow up and don't care. Won't be wasting my time with them again. First and last order. They DID however deliver all the items I ordered (unlike Waitrose) hence 2 stars. Something tells me I've been too generous ...
Seriously AVOID!! IT IS SHOCKING THAT A COMPANY OF THIS SIZE CAN GET AWAY THIS THIS, I ORDERED 30 STORAGE BOXS IN 3 DIFFERENT ORDERS OF 10 ON THE 25TH- PAID EXTRA FOR NEXT DAY DELIVERY - HAD TO CALL THEM TO BE TOLD THAT ONLY 1 HAS BEEN SENT AND THAT WONT EVEN BE HERE ON THE 27TH - 30 MINS + ON HOLD ASKING TO SPEAK WITH A MANGER NO LUCK - JUST A REFUND AND 30 POUND VOUCHERS -
I JUST WANTED MY ORDER !!!
DO NOT USE !!!!!!! DO NOT LET THEM GET AWAY WITH IT !!!
NOW ON THE PHONE AGAIN 2 DEC ASKING ABOUT MY REFUND HAS NOT BEEN PROCESSED ANOTHER 20 MIN HOLD FOLLOWED BE A LOT OF DRAMA
Absolutely appalling. Asda charged my card for products then only delivered half the order. Did not give me an invoice or receipt as apparently order had been cancelled on their system (by them! not me) so could not generate a receipt.
Deliveryman very rude. Told me that he did not even 'need to deliver to you' as the order was cancelled and that he was 'doing me a favour'. Thanks for doing me such a massive favour asda by cancelling my order without telling me, then having half my order delivered anyway by a rude, aggressive deliveryman, and charging me for the full amount. Call to their customer service to get a refund for the goods NOT delivered - they only refunded me the delivery charge - £3 instead of £40!
Seriously AVOID!! Your peace of mind, time and money is not worth the hugh headache dealing with Asda is. You may think you save money, but as you can see from all the negative ratings, it's touch and go if you will even receive your order and not be charged for it.
I am now out of pocket for goods not received but charged for which I equate to stealing.
Ok so I order a xbox one asda take payment out, couple days later I get a phone call from customer service saying my order would come today but according to track my order on asdas website it hasn't even been dispatched yet customer adviser was to hard to understand I think she was Pakistani or Indian so it was a little hard to understand what she was saying and didn't make the "supposed" delivery date very clear, and I quote "your order will come on the 25th". What 25th of November or December first online order from asda and the last online order I make till customer service gets their info correct, got in contact with asda the number that phoned asda claimed it wasn't them, but it turns out they were out of stock even through the website stated they were in stock but they took my money and now have to wait 3-10 days for a refund, never ever going to use asda online or in store again They didn't even have the decency to contact me
Placed order for two tyres on a Monday. Stated delivery Friday. Went to fitting centre at arranged time. Tyres not delivered & fitting centre knew nothing about the order. E-mailed Asda, quick reply, deliver Saturday before 10.30 hrs & fitting centre will contact me. Contacted fitting centre on Saturday after 10.30hrs. Still no tyres & fitting centre not expecting a delivery, & did not agree to any arrangements. Following this I cancelled order.
