I ordered a MacBook Pro from a Groupon offer. I checked out AskDirect as best I could but still felt uncertain about the transaction - it was a lot of money.
My fears were unfounded. The Mac arrived quickly and without fuss.
The one problem was that I didn't get (or lost) a proper receipt for the computer. When I came to register the Mac with Apple for the warranty purposes, they insisted on this document.
I was reluctant to contact AskDirect because I'd read that their customer service was poor. This was completely wrong.
What actually happened was that I used their customer support page to ask for a duplicate receipt, and one was issued within 24 hours. Completely painless- and not what I expected.
I'd buy from these people again in an instant. It was a genuinely nice surprise to get a receipt without fuss.
Ordered a 1.5TB hard drive via groupon. Took five weeks to arrive after being lied to on numerous occasions. Was told I'd get upgraded to 2tb for my patience. Another lie.
Sanjay is the customer service guy, blatant liar do not trust them!
Every time I go into Ask to buy something or buy online I make sure I speak with one of there staff, they always point me in the right direction and I walk away with a better understanding of what I have brought and why that was the right product for me. Recently got a GoPro from them and hadn't a clue were to start, the salesman went thought the whole range explaining every minor details and I left with the model (HD3 black) i felt was most suitable for my needs. They were so helpful when I was trying to decide which SLR cameras to buy. Asked me all the right questions and gave me a few options to think about. They made the whole process so quick and effortless.
They even recommended an appropriate tripod which wasn't even the most expensive!
Super service and all the items came delivered to me the next day.
I've already used them again for other purchases and definitely recommend them.
Living in France I wanted to buy a Canon 500mm lens in the UK because the prices were lower than in France or other European countries.
I did a bit of research on the web to find the best price at UK photography retailers and I came upon Ask Electronics.
After an email and phone exchange I ordered my lens which was not in stock.
From the moment I placed my order and until the shipping I was continually informed by mail or phone on the progress of my order. Ask Electronics shipped the lens by UPS on Thursday and it arrived the next day at 1 o'clock.
A highly recommended retailer!
Bought a pressure washer through groupon, and it arrived promptly and everything was working well. After using the washer 4 times the gun split and i could no longer use. I emailed ask to get a replacement but was told that physical damage was not their responsibility . I then have been sitting on the phone daily to speak to someone but never anyone answers. I have also emailed on several occasions and only just had a response after threatening legal actin. Will never ever use this company again. I am sure they are fine when things don't need replaced, as they are getting your money but watch out if things go wrong.
I have had a very positive experience with AskDirect, I have bought a MacBook through Groupon, emailed AskDirect to ask about when it will be delivered, I got an email back the same day advising me that my item will be delivered tomorrow and given me a tracking number, and i got my mac the very next day exactly as they said, absolutely brilliant.
Was my first ever groupon ps3 deal took around a month to arrive never received the extras i paid for to go with it no replys to emails no answer to phones groupon washed their hands of me and just gave me a voucher not the cash although i requested the cash thy said it was nothing to do with them so ive been forced into using groupon again really not happy :(
I was skeptical at first as this was my first time using Groupon. I ordered an iPad through the scheme to be delivered direct from Ask Direct - within 7 days (the timescale quoted). Although it was over the Easter Bank Holiday period I started to panic after reading several reviews saying they were uncontactable, did not respond to emails and delivery times were not adhered to. I needed the unit for my son as he was going off for 8 months and thought it may not arrive in time. The transaction was perfect, delivered within the time quoted and no problems what so ever. My first experience was a good one and I would recommend.
I also bought 1 pair of Toshiba 3D glasses - this is my experience.
Ordered on line - the web site was easy to navigate and checkout simple.
The cost of glasses: were £29.99 and the they were brand new when 2nd hand pairs are making £40 on ebay.
I ordered them yesterday morning, I got an email that afternoon to say they were being delivered today by DPD. At 9:30am they were in my hands - 24hrs after making the order. How can you fault that service?
Massively over charged me! I had 1/2 hour to go get a battery for the camera I would take on a conference trip to Rome. Ask Direct tottenham court road sold me one for £75. Later found that online (had I had the time) I could have bought the same battery for £35!!!

Bought 2 pairs of Toshiba 3D glasses that were half the cost of that I had seen anywhere else. Ordered them, got a message saying they were dispatched within an hour, the courier (DPD) sent a push notification to me saying it was at the depot by the evening, had another push notification sent the next morning to say it was being delivered at a precise time, and they delivered it promptly, on time (I live at the other end of the country) and the glasses worked perfectly.
I ordered a hard drive through a Groupon deal from Ask.
Ordered on 27th November, the small print said delivery would be "up to 7 working days"
By 8th December I had received nothing... not even an email. I contacted them and they repliedon the 9th December to say my "order was in the process of being dispatched" and to expect it "by the end of the week" considering this email was sent on a Saturday, the end of the week is a whole 5 days away.
I emailed back asking if there was any way it could be dispatched quicker (it was a birthday present) they replied saying if it wasn't with me by Dec 13th then to contact them.
Dec 13th came and went, no delivery, no email explaining why.
Emaed them to find out where my order was, it's now 15th Dec and still heard nothing... am starting to worry that this is all a big con.
It's the lack of communication that worries me most.
I would not recommend buying from this company, they lie about delivery dates and then disappear.

I recently purchased a new Toshiba laptop which was the cheapest place selling it. The person who sold me the laptop was very kind and went out of his way to assist me on my purchase.
A few weeks later a fault had occurred on my laptop. I took the laptop to the store. Without any hassle they immediately replaced my laptop.
However when I went home and unpacked the laptop I realised there was a dead pixel on the screen which was very minor and located in a unnoticeable area of the screen.
I rang the store and explained this to them, they told me to come in and that they will replace the laptop and that this time they would open the laptop in front of me to make sure there were no faults this time. I went to the store and the laptop replaced was perfect and had no faults. They even offered me a option of a refund.
I would definitely buy from them again and recommend any one else to buy from them.
Having 'lost' my portable radio & severely missing its ability to tune into R4 LW for the cricket I determined to replace it asap! After google searching the web I found the cheapest with stock and ordered only for a phone call 30 mins later advising 'not in stock' & 10 days for their next delivery. I thus cancelled that & went to the next company (all of 1p yes one penny dearer) who were Askdirect. Placing the order for standard delivery @ 14:55 boy was I suprised when the courier got me out of the shower @ 7:45 the next morning to hand me te goods. What great service - definitely worth paying the extra penny!!
Looked on the website a camcorder I wanted to order and it was out of stock, I phoned them to ask when they would have it in, I was informed they had had 5 delivered that morning. The guy was very helpful and took my order there and then 15.30 29.03.11. He said he would enclose a voucher for a free battery from panasonic, this offer is only usually available if you purchase in store. My camcorder arrived at 10am 30.03.11 well packaged with the voucher and extra copy of the receipt. Excellent Service wouldnt hesitate on using them again. In the meantime I am still waiting for my refund from Simply Electronics 15 days later!!!!
I ordered my 60inch plasma at 10.30pm on wed.nite and it was up on my wall by friday lunchtime,this company is in London and im in south west scotland. hugely impressed,an all round excellent service - lowest price and free delivery. highly recommended.A++++++++++++++++++++++++++
I'm not one for writing reviews usually but if you're looking to buy something from Ask Direct online then I hope this might help. I recently placed an order online at 3pm for a new Laptop. Apart from being the cheapest anywhere (I saved 20% off list on a Toshiba A660- 14c) they also offered free delivery of 1- 2 days. So I went for it. At 9am the next day I received an email from Ask saying that my Laptop would be delivered between 11 and 12 !And so it was. Brand new security sealed and perfect in every way. Can't tell you how massively impressed I am with this company. The best I've ever used in over 15 years of buying online. Oh BTW diid I forget to mention that I also saved £96 on a 12 month free subscription to Lovefilm as well??? Nice!!
The Canon lens hood I was after was as cheap here as anywhere else I could find. Shown in stock on the site but I decided to check it availability via e-mail and received a prompt response.
Ordered late on Thursday night and received the lens hood on the Monday. All in all a good online shopping experiences.
Ordered video camera via their easy to navigate website. Received order confirmation immediately, camera then arrived 3 days later, well packaged. Only concern was not receiving an order update ie 'item shipped' email prior to receiving it but a very minor gripe.
Best price on web, even better when fee delivery was included. Will definitely use again.
Ordered a laptop yesterday that was listed in stock, had a call today saying the website isnt in stock and they'll refund the money straight away, 4 hours later i still havent got it so now i have to wait till next week to order a laptop from a different site. Wouldnt trust this company
