I rented a car at Pisa airport. The paperwork says pick up at Pisa Airport but that's not true. You have to drive my minibus for ten mins to get the car. Not the end of the world but when I got to the Pisa rental office, I was told that their credit card machine was not working because it had been raining and the only way for me to rent a car was to leave my passport! I refused so we went back to the airport where we had no choice but to hire a car for three times the price.
When I asked Atlas to pay the difference, instead of taking this on the chin and offering great customer service, they pointed me to the small print and refused to help. Awful awful service all round. Yes, credit card machines can go on the blink but the company should have paid the difference of the new rental rate which I had to pay as I had not booked online. All I got was a online email saying that the company was sorry on behalf of their supplier. That's just not good enough when I'm an addition €200 out of pocket. This company needs to understand that unhappy customers are not a good thing to have.
A VERY disappointing experience and I have no plans to use them again.
A daylight robbery.
1. I was told to pay a deposit for a full tank and to then expect a refund for unused fuel, no refund ever received.
2. Paying double insurance cover for the same thing, first time on booking and subsequently on pick-up.
The best excuse ever, "you should have read the contract". Absolutely lame, expected to read the contract after a flight then walking around out of the airport to find the car hire booth and with two kids on the tow. Ridiculous and never again.
Initially I was a little hesitant whether or not to use Atlas as there are some bad reviews and the rental is very cheap, however it all went really well. The staff were friendly, the process of picking up the delivering the car was quick and hassle free and we had a great car to drive around in with no millage limit. All good :)
The car picked up off site. It was not apparent where we should meet with the representative so we were wandering around for a while until we came upon the telephone number to contact. We were collected quite quickly but the car was not ready and we were waiting around in the sun - nowhere to wait indoors - for 30 minutes while the car was brought round.
All in all it was good service. it was a good price, though I had to change my times and was charged for it, but was refunded when I questioned it.
Also while away we had our keys stolen and the hire company Dickmanns charged us 250€ for new keys, even though we'd taken out extra insurance at the pick up desk. But apparently it doesn't cover keys or the fuel being stolen!
We are trying to claim the 250 back from our insurance, but no word as yet.
Atals helped us get the receipt from them, as we were out of hours when dropping the car back off, so no one in the office could help.
Atlas have been helpful, good value and air, but I think Dickmanns were really cheeky to charge 250€ for lost keys, and I don't want to use them again, though I would use Atlas again.
I have found the options provided for hiring a car all over Europe to be very goo and at good prices. I have not been let down by any of the suppliers or their cars. I would prefer if it was easier to work out whether the option was on or off airport and whether out of hours fees apply as that can make a difference in determining what price option to select. However, the off airport options have worked well and I have arrived late and been met with good grace.
I will continue to use the service and the website.
We only needed a runaround for a few days driving around Brac and Split so the car was ideal. Helpful rep at the airport and on our way quickly. Return was fine too, apart from confusing road layout at the airport!
Will definitely use them again.
I knew I needed to rent a car for this trip and I was overwhelmed by choices and prices. I found Atlas online and knew I head to try them, they were the only ones within my budget! We got into Philadelphia and the shuttle driver was very friendly and helped us with our luggage. We got a nicer and newer vehicle than expected, a 2013 Kia Soul. We had no issues with the car and had it turned in on time. I kind of want to trade my car in for that one now! I'll definitely be using this company again!

We were disappointment about one. We decided to choose car from you, because we read that you can receive car with full tank and we give back car with full tank. But at the place is was only one option: you receive car with full tank, you pay for this petrol and you give back car with empty tank, what impossible is...
Other things were OK: nice contact person, who speaks English, what is not so obvious in Spain :-)
Atlas Choice has the beset pricing for car rentals. The rental company they chose for me in SEA/TAC was FOX Rental. Fox rental was the problem. They didn't have any midsized vehicles, which was what I paid for 2 months in advance. We arrived at 11p.m. to the rental kiosk and didn't leave until 2:30! ATLAS good, FOX bad!
I would recomment atlas choice as the car rental partners that are cooperating with are dealing with you customers in a very professional manner. Always in very value for money prices!
I was disappointed in Europcar. I explained that I had not used GPS before and asked for assitance, which was readikly offered. However, the man setting it showed me only the "via" route not the "destination" set up, with the result that when I rejioined the M1 after a side detour, I was directed back towards London. It also made finding my way to a city centre a nightmare.
Secondly, I had booked to leave the car at Manchester airport. Nowhere was I informed that The drop-off point was no longer at Terminal 2 (as shown on both the map and the GPS) and I wasted more that 2 hours trying to find where to go - GPS had me heading south afgain, which didn't help. I finally found a parking official at Terminal 2 who directed me.
However, the car itself suited me perfectly.
The check in process was relatively easy except I had changed the reservation to accommodate 2 extra people in my party and did not get the link to reprint the voucher before arriving at check in. That created a little hassle, but the staff was very accommodating by processing us quickly. The vehicle was just right - couldn't have been more satisfied.
booking is strtaightforward and good value for money but watch out! If you are in a hurry and make a booking online, as most of us are, you will inevitably oversee that even if you pay by debit card, unless you have a CREDIT CARD, you can't collect the car. Basically this company assumes everyone has a credit card. Was left stranded with no car and couldn't even get a refund for a car I had paid. If Atlas choice does business with credit card users, then they ensure payment methods are with a credit card only. Accepting a Debit Card as a method of payment is deceitful.
As we left the booking of the car hire to just a few days before our travel date, we were really pleased with the speed of responses from Atlas Choice. We had anticipated there may be some issues finding the car hire person when arriving at Heraklion, but this was not the case - walking along the concourse, the care hire man greeted us with a board with our name on it and it was a short walk across the road to where the cars are parked, to fill out the paperwork and get the keys. From departing baggage reclaim to being on the road took less than 20 minutes. Car was supplied with quarter of a tank of fuel and we were expected to leave the same on return. Return was really simple - park in the carpark we had collected the car from and drop the keys in a locked box at the car provider's stand.
No problems collecting the car. Booth is easy to find. Staff were engaged and engaging.
Return was fine. Normally expect someone to be in the car park to meet but worked fine from booth.
Will be happy to use Atlas again
Was a shock when we were only told at the airport that the car hire place was 5 mins down the road but we jumped in the free shuttle bus was ran straight down there, got the car with no problems and was away to enjoy my holiday.
Would highly recommend, the service was fantastic and the price even better.
Our previous three car hires have been a positive experience thro Atlas Choice this last time was not as to the previous standards. On arrival to location for pick up The wait was over an hour, Not enough staff to deal with pick up and return cars. The car had not been cleaned inside there was mud on the floor mats and the windshield was dirty inside the car. You could see that it had not been cleaned as there was marks where a GPS suction cup had been put onto windshield. Positive side that the rental price is good. We hope to rent a car late October or early November, hopefully it was a one off bad experience,
I booked through Atlas based on the price and the fact it was on the Stansted Airport campus. To collect the vehicle I had to get a courtesy bus to the Hilton Hotel, which I did. This was free as I had my booking voucher, what my voucher didn't tell me was that there was a £2.50 transfer fee for each passenger to get back to the airport when I returned the car. Naughty.
The car, no complaints.
The staff, excellent, very helpful providing clear explanations throughout the rental process.
If I was sure that there were no bus transfers to collect the car or hidden costs I would use them again.
Upon arrival, was uncertain as what to do because we were never informed as to what agency Atlas was affilicated with. Therefore, we had to stop at every agency and finally found that the agency was Ilha Verde. We were at the ariport after arrival a full 1 1/2 hrs before we finally established this information and resolved getting the vehicle. Would definitely recommend that more instructions are given at time of online booking. Will definitely book in the future via Atlas Choice due to the great pricing and now know what to do upon arrival.
