Very helpful but still waiting since September 2013 for my replacement speakers (over £600 cost to buy) as the first set sent were damaged. They are being helpful but far to slow and lack good discipline on timely response to customer queries. Already been informed this won't be resolved until mid January.
I ordered heavy goods (speakers) to be shipped to Italy, and no problems at all: items arrived in few days, by cheap UPS and Royal Mail service, confirming that the friendly and incredibly convenient service of AudioAffair can reach every part of (known) world! Well done guys, 5 stars!
From the moment I contacted them Audio Affair have been nothing but helpful. As a total audio novice they guided me through the products available, spent time discussing different options and have put together a fantastic package. As an overseas customer I could not be happier with the service or shipping.
Although I live outside of Europe, Audio Affair provided a safe and secure transaction, financial and otherwise, and my purchase was expedited to my address quickly, once I provided adequate documentation of my identity and address. A very safe and dependable merchant, which I will recommend highly to my friends and co-workers.
Order was delayed due to supplier problems, but after a quick email exchange the guys pulled out all the stops and I even got a personal delivery from the supplier a few evenings later with the product in hand. The supplier lived closeby, and whilst I can't guarantee you will receive such service above and beyond the norm, I get the feeling these guys really care about each and every order.
In an age when internet merchants sprout up on almost a daily basis promising the earth and delivering little, Audio Affair is a rare find - a glimmering, sparkling gem in a digital rock garden of mediocrity. The test of a good company is not what they do when things go right but how they behave when things go wrong. There was a mistake with my order - not AA's fault but a mix up with their supplier. However AA manfully stepped up to the plate and took full responsibility, delivering the correct unit in less than 24 hours without equivocation. They even threw in an expensive shiny cable as good measure to compensate for my inconvenience. Their knowledge is also first class. Like many people I am time short and I do not have the luxury of auditioning mountains of equipment. John though listened carefully to my requirements and after some thought assuredly put together an excellent system within my budget. I would happily recommend Audio Affair without hesitation. Alex.
With some stunning high end stock, some of it is quite pricey, so when I found the DVD player I was looking for in the bargain section for a fraction of the new price I was delighted. It arrived really fast and of course works beautifully. My only issue was a missing of remote, so I called up to query. Between us there had been a misunderstanding of what was included, but they were great and we soon had it sorted out and I now have a brand new Arcam remote. Ill definitely use them again for future purchases
when I rang up to check on an item, very helpful, and took the time. Mentioned that if I got order in by lunch, it would be out the door that pm. Later that day got a text to say will be deliverd next day. That evening got another text letting me know within an hour window, what time the item would be at my door ( and it was) beat that !
I ordered an Icon Audio PS3 phono amplifier from the Audio Affair internet site. The item was quoted as 7-14 days delivery and I was delighted when the item arrived within the time scale. The purchase went smoothly and I would highly recommend Audio Affair. Icon Audio should be congratulated for producing a top quality product, the sound and manufacturing quality are first rate, a great purchase.
My purchase consisted of a Musical Fidelity M6I amplifier. My order was successfully placed and dispatched by the guys at Audio Affair for delivery the next day. Unfortunately DPD, the courier used for delivery, managed to deliver to the wrong address. While DPD's attitude to the problem was rather blase to say the least, Dan at Audio Affair was tenacious in his quest to resolve the problem and get my amp to me...hats off to the guys at Audio Affair for all they did to bring the issue to a satisfactory conclusion...i'll definitely be using these guys again. DPD however, can burn in hell.
I didn't spend a lot of money at Audio Affair but the treatment I received from all those I had dealings with made me feel like a valued customer who had spent thousands! Communications were always prompt and courteous and led to a very satisfactory conclusion. And to round it all off, Richard carried my purchase to my car.
All in all, I was more than pleased with Audio Affair and look forward to visiting them again. I would certainly recommend the store to others 10/10!
Bought Audio Technica LP120 turntable online and paid PayPal. There was a weekend deal I undertook for extra 10% off. However this was nothing compared to the ordeal I have been through since placing this order. I wish I had paid more and bought this from elsewhere as Audio Affair's customer service team's ability to get back to customers as they say so is dreadful.
Initially, due to un verified address on my PayPal account, I received an email the next day asking for proof of address. Replied to this promptly, with no response via email whatsoever for two days, so I was non the wiser if proof of address was sufficient or not or when item was actually being sent.
THree days after order was placed, I called to enquire when item was being sent. Audio Affair rep confirmed he had seen the email (shame he didn't actually answer it) and would action it to be sent. Eventually, now three days after it should have been received the item eventually turned up.
Connected turntable to PC via USB to see no signal coming through on the right channel. Thought it may be a USB issue, so tried connecting via phono leads and same issue. Tried connecting via amp and it was intermittent right channel.
I researched online and found this was a common fault with this turntable. Called Audio Affair next day to report issue and request fix/replacement. I was advised th9is would need to come back for the turntable specialist to look out and he would confirm fault and send replacement if confirmed.
I was then sent an email I had to complete. I replied to this with all of the information and once again got no response, like the first time. I waited another 2-3 days then had to ring them and chased to find out when they were arranging collection. First time I was told someone would ring me back that day, which they didn't, so had to call again the next day.
Eventually spoke to member of staff who once again said they had my email and woudl arrange collection that very same day. I left the turntable on reception at my company and low and behold no courier turned up.
I had to call Audio Affair AGAIN to find out why courier hadn't arrived. I was then told collection was missed as they came to the back door. Collection was arranged again for the Monday, as this was a Friday.
Item was collected on Monday. 1 week later, the following Monday I had to phone AGAIN for another update. I spoke to John and clearly explained I was awaiting confirmation of the fault on a returned product. He said he would ask Dan to call me back. Dan then called me back some hours later as he'd heard there was an issue with courier and the collection. I was very frustrated by this point, as clearly internal communication is as much of an issue as external communication. I explained I hadn’t said there was an issue with the courier, as he himself had sorted that the week before, so they should have the item back now. I was ringing to ask if the fault had been confirmed.
I was then informed it had gone back to Audio Technica for them to also verify the fault Audio Affair had found. I asked how long this would take and Dan didn't know. So the turntable specialist did not honour what he had said and action a replacement being sent, it was simply sent back (which confirms they acknowledge the fault existed) and no-one at any point thought to call me with an update or let me know what was going on.
I said I would like a replacement sent as the product was clearly faulty for Audio Affair to send it back to Audio Technica and I wasn’t prepared to wait any longer. Audio Affair said they had to wait to confirm if I had damaged it myself or not. By this point I was losing patience fast due to being messed around for so long and never been kept up to date with what was happening and now I still wasn’t going to be sent a replacement.
I mentioned that under distance selling regulations I was entitled to a full refund (even it it was open), additionally I had been sent faulty goods and I am covered by my credit card company on faulty purchases, so if I didn’t have a suitable response with an ETA for replacement that day I would simply seek the money back and buy another one elsewhere.
Eventually I had to ring AGAIN later that day for an update as no-one called me back. I was then told by John that a replacement was going to be sent out to me now, but they had to wait for stock coming in again. This could be 3-4 more days.
It amaze me how every time I ring Audio Affair there have been developments, but no-one EVER takes the time to call the customer and potentially completely prevent this terrible review of their business.
It is now 3 weeks since I placed the original order and I still don't have a replacement turntable for the faulty one.
To be continued....!! ---------- 22nd JULY UPDATE: It is now four weeks since I posed the above review and 7 weeks since I placed my order with audio affair and I am STILL without a turntable. I have been given numerous dates when these were supposed to be landing in the UK - both of which didn't materialise. The second of which I was promised the product early this week and it's late Wed and no sign of the turntable and no response to email sent in to John 24 hours ago to explain why. I don't reccomend anyone to buy from this company, it's terrible. --------------- 27th JULY UPDATE: My frustration with this company just continues to worsen!! I was promised the replacement turntable early w/c 22nd July. Nothing arrived. No email or phone call. I then emailed the company and no-one responded all week and never has since! Then on Friday 26th July, I get a text message from the courier company to say the parcel is arriving Monday. No-one even called to apologise it is a further week late and no-one thought to actually ring and check Monday is a suitable day for me to receive the parcel. It was simply sent un-announced and I only knew of this though the courier company themselves. I WOULD NEVER EVER BUY FROM THIS DISORGANISED COMPANY EVER AGAIN.. IF YOU WANT A GOOD SERVICE I SUGGEST OTHER POTENTIAL HI-FI CUSTOMERS DO THE SAME!!
Ordered a record which was not in stock after they checked. They went through all connections they had but couldn't find a copy. Customer-service then offered other items, with a discount because of the situation, or a refund. Excellent communication and a very helpful advisor (Thanks, John!). Changed the order into another record. It all went smoothly.
After some initial issues regarding some Quad Classic 11L speakers (colour matching), I ordered a pair of Tannoy Revolution DC6s and Atacama speaker stands. John was on hand to advise and help throughout. Perfectly happy with the end result. Many thanks for your help!
I bought some KEF speaker stands which were not only a decent price but were also delivered very quickly (full tracking info was provided and the courier sent me a text the day before to confirm they'd arrive the following day. I was even given the option to change the delivery date and then received a 1hr delivery window on the actual delivery date).
When I contacted Audioaffair with a query about the speaker stands (they didn't appear to fit my speakers even though they're advertised as being compatible), they couldn't be more helpful. They contacted KEF on my behalf, provided the answer that I was looking for and even offered to get the KEF engineer to talk me through the correct set-up process (thanks John).
Based on this experience, I'll be shopping here again and would have no hesitation recommending them!
Just like to say a big thanks to John, he goes the extra mile for you. And sorry for my resent outburst on here. I'd like to thank his boss for making the final decision, and making me one happy chappy. If your in the market for hi fi, this is the shop for you. Excellent. Thanks again
I purchased a TEAC DSD DAC from Audio Affair as an overseas purchaser. I am in Australia. From the first communication, I found Audio Affair to be attentive, polite, and accommodating, and comfortable dealing with an overseas customer.
The item arrived within the timeframe originally specified, and the DAC is exactly as described.
Minor problems with Customs because of a misunderstanding about the invoice were sorted out within 30 minutes because of Audio Affair's prompt response to an email.
A good company to deal with if you need to purchase items from a 230-240 volt country.
They are also equipped to remove VAT, if you are outside the EU.
