Ordered a dishwasher from them in early July. Eventually I e-mailed 6 times and eventually cancelled the order. I must have made over 20 phone calls during July - no response to anything. Registered letters were returned by the Post Office. I threatened legal action - still nothing. No dishwasher. no refund. no response whatsoever!!!
Whilst their website was good and ease of giving them money (sorry. buying from them) was easy - that's where it stops. If I could give a negative star rating I would!!

ordered a tumble dryer, money taken straight away but no goods delivered. No response by phone or e-mail. Looks like they are stealing everyones money and getting away with it.
I have complained to sage pay who are the online company the payment goes through. I have logged negative reviews on various sites including watchdog and had to submit a claim through my credit card.

At first I found them really helpfull, untill i tryed to contact them in regards to the item I'd ordered never turning up when they said. After endless times of trying to get in touch with them to no avail, I got in touch with my credit card company who then dealt with the issue and I've now got my money back. I made the mistake of not checking the company out before I purchased something that won't happen again in future.
Beware - the website says everything is in stock - it isn't. It has said this the whole month I have been waiting for my plasma. They don't answer emails and rarely answer the phone - when they do it's promises but no action. I've had to get credit card company to suspend the transaction. Worst online outfit I have ever encountered.
Do not use this company. They will take your money and will not supply the goods you ordered. Many excuses the one I experienced was the item you ordered is not in stock, however they will still take your money and if you manage to get to speak to them, they will offer you a full refund, but you will NOT get your money back. I contacted my bank and told them my situation - I paid by a debit card, £129.00 and my bank (fraud department) luckily refunded me the money and took the dispute up with AV Addicts.
Ordered a dishwasher on 20th July and cancelled on the 30th by e-mail when no product forthcoming and no-one answered the phone after several days of trying. Have repeatedly asked for a refund but no answer to my many e-mails and still no-one answers the phone. It is now 9th of september! I want my £439 back - It's mine!!
So many people have had the same experience. should all get together and get this company shut down. perhaps watchdog may take an interest?
I wish I had seen these reviews before placing an order with these crooks. Money taken from my account the next working day but since then no contact whatsoever. Phone calls and emails ignored - I am now pursuing a refund with my bank through the Visa charge-back system.

Like alot of people i wish i had found this site first, but to late, took money and nothing ever turned nor did they bother to contact me in anyway, never answer the phone and now in the hands of the credit card company, why are these people still allowed to trade
I think its fair to say these people are just scum. I ordered a dishwasher and got nothing. I have been lucky and got my money back through my credit card company. What i would urge everybody to contact trading standards and get these scum shut down. I have spoken to trading standards and its fair to say unless lots of people report this company there not going to react with any great haste.
Come on everyone spend 5 min contact trading standards and shut this company down before they rip of someone else
No goods, no response to emails or phone calls. Given their history it's hard to know why this company is still trading and taking people's money. I will pursue repayment but not holding my breath. I have just read the reviews on this company and the same as many other people I read them too late! I have had the same experience I ordered a tumble drier and they took the money the same day and have since not recieved any goods and they have not replied to any emails and I've telephoned countless times and they never answer the phone or it comes up as line busy when I just spent 10 minutes trying to get through!
I have reported them to Trading standards for what good it will do and am just hoping that my bank can claim the money back for me! Very much hope that this company is stopped from trading soon before many others fall foul of them as they are just a bunch of low lifes!
Ordered and new TV £749. Got confirmation from Sage Pay that the money transaction went through but received nothing from AV Addicts themselves. I waited the 5 days (delivery in 1 to 5 days) and tried to contact them. The phone just rings out and if you wait long enough they pick up and hang up. Can't contact them by phone, email or any other means. I've never experienced anything like this before so I've left it in the hands of my Credit Card company to get the money back. They are Frauds, should be put away and the key lost. AVOID!!!!!
My experience with AV addicts has been depressingly similar to most of the other reviewers on here. No goods arrived, no response to email, and no one answering my calls.
I am now down GBP 400, and will probably have to jump through hoops if I'm ever to see the money again.

Ordered a dishwasher from them, failed to arrive, told outright lies on the few ocassions when I could actually get through to them.
Unfortunately only saw the bad reviews after ordering - I was confident when purchasing as I saw they were ISIS and IDIS accredited, and used a trustworthy 3rd party payment processor (SagePay).
Update: I have eventually received a full refund after escalating the matter to IMRG, 20 days after placing the order. Therefore I can't say this company are 'fraudulent' any more (and I have deleted much of my scathing review written in anger), but they certainly aren't worth dealing with and I strongly urge you to look elsewhere.
I bought my dishwasher from Boots Kitchen Appliances in the end and had a remarkable experience with them.
I foolishly placed an order for a £1000 TV with them before finding all these reviews - big mistake!
Expected delivery in 72 hours, nothing arrived, rang and rang them over 2 days, finally got an answer and was told it would be delivered on Friday. Needless to say, it did not arrive, I tried ringing all day Saturday and all morning Monday, still no answer.
Have now contacted SagePay and the Bank to get the transaction reversed.
Avoid like the plague!

Avoid this company like the plague, items "in stock" are not in stock it seems and they do not respond to emails or answer the phone as far as I can ascertain. Appear to have simply stolen my money.

As with other posts i have read item in stock on website, placed order money debited from account same day, confirmation of order recieved.
2 WEEKS LATER: No response or delivery therefore sent email asking when abouts to expect delivery - surprisingly NO RESPONSE!
Phoned up the company, spent 3 HOURS trying to get through to be told they do not have the item in stock and now I have to wait 7 DAYS for a refund to be credited to my account, we shall wait and see what happens.
Morale of the story - They advertise items in stock when clearly they haven't. Myself the customer then has to chase them up and up in order to be told this and now have to wait for a refund which I am yet to recieve!
Outcome- NEVER AGAIN shall i shop at this site!
BEWARE - From the reviews I have read this is NOT an isolated incident so do not believe everything they say on their website because it is a load of rubbish

Ordered a hob that was supposedly in stock, with 3 day delivery. Company couldn't deliver after all and order was cancelled. They confirmed cancellation but have not refunded the payment which they took immediately. By the looks of other reviews, this is modus operani
for them, take your cash and hold on to it for as long as possible with no actual stock. Avoid like plague.
ISS accreditation has now been withdrawn and trading standards are investigating them.
absolutely pathetic customer service, ordered a 50 inch tv which was claimed to be in stock. As stated by website the tv was supposed to be delivered within several days however no such thing happened. I rang up only to find out the money had been taken from my account yet there was no tv in stock . After waiting 4 weeks on which 4 times the tv was supposed to be delivered yet no tv turned up. Emails never get answered and broken promises are made on the phone. A refund has been promised yet 2 weeks on no money has been refunded. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY, use reputable retailers not av addicts
I wish I had discovered this site before ordering. I paid for an LCD TV it has still not arrived despite numerous calls to 'customer service' I have experienced exactly the same issues other people have written about: excuses, put offs, and what I suspect are blatant lies. Trading Standards next stop, if I ever get my money back I will be surprised.
Ordered a blue ray off them in early may, 1-3 day deadline, well chuffed and looked forward to it, the money was taken immediately. On two occasions i was told of a delivery, time off work which i cant afford and no delivery!!!!!!
Eventually getting through on the phone i asked for a refund to which they agreed, that was over a week ago and still no refund. Where i go from here im not sure but know what i would like to do!! DO NOT ORDER OFF THESE PEOPLE - THE LEVEL OF SERVICE AND COMMUNICATION IS APPALLING.
Ordered a Bluray player 2 weeks ago and it still hasn't arrived (Site says 1-3 days delivery), they never answered any of the emails I sent last week (site says all emails answered within 24 hours) and when I finallt got though on the phone on Monday I was told delivery would be on wednesday (yesterday), took the day off and guess what no delivery. Why are they still trading!
Just to be clear that I am not associatied with this company and don't work for them. Like other reviewers I suspect that one or two of the 'glowing' reviews posted on here in the past might not have been genuine.
I ordered a TV on the Saturday (by phone) for delivery the following Weds. For this reason I can't comment on the online payment process on the web site as I did not use it. The TV never arrived, so I called them after noticing that my card had not been debited (which is a good thing in this respect).
Very helpful guy (Adam) on the phone initially unable to explain and then after checking stated that they were out of stock as the in stock model had been tested prior to shipping and found to have a broken screen - hmmm. Stated that he was guaranteed delivery to him of more stock by this Monday and would guarantee for delivery on Tuesday.
Tuesday morning, I got a call to say the delivery van had broken down and so it could not be delivered before Wednesday morning (to be fair guy on the phone, he sounded genuinely fed up at this point as though he had been let down and was unhappy at having to do the same to me). Received a call later that day advising that the TV would be delivered next day between 09:30 and 10:30 and that I would be able to inspect the goods before signing. So did they turn up - yes they did at 10:20. I helped the guy unload it, we unpacked it and checked the condition and I took as long as I needed and signed the delivery note as 'checked but not operationally tested'; probably has no standing in law but it made me feel better.
If I had seen these reviews before ordering from AV Addicts I would almost certainly have thought about shopping elsewhere, their prices are good but they are not uniquely so. However, in their defence they have almost certainly had a legacy of problems in the past - the reviews on here clearly demonstrate that. The guy in the Customer Services dept is genuine and tries his best to help and ultimately they delivered the goods in the end, as promised and didn't take payment until after I had signed for the goods. I was also able to take sufficient time to inspect the TV (how many couriers allow you to do that without a lot of pressure to 'just sign') and the item was in mint condition and works just fine. Not disputing what has happened to others but my experience overall has been a good one.
Perhaps I got lucky, but my sense is that they are a company working hard to put problems in the past behind them. They have a bit of a mountain to climb to recover their reputation and will need to do at least this well and better on a consistent basis in order to achieve it.
However overall - I am a satisfied customer. Would I use them again, yes I would but I would do it all by phone - until I see more evidence of consistent improvement (via good, genuine customer feedback) of the web purchasing process. Would I recommend them - yes - but that has to be down to your individual judgement.
One comment on email correspondence - it's reassuring to be able to get a voice on the phone but better email correspondence is something they can improve on.
Received an unexpected and welcome follow up call from AV Addicts after delivery, a nice touch and I should have added that they threw in a couple of HDMI cables (although only left one but I am promised a second one in the post).
The customer service i recieved was impecable. I have never dealt with a company so in touch with its buyers needs. The advice i recieved was invaluable , i was guided from my first phone call , through the purchase, delivery and setup. This seller had so much time for me as his customer. It was almost as if it was the guy next door !I cannot fault , service, delivery and after care were fantastic. Gold star for this seller, do not hesitate to purchase and expect miracles!

I ORDERED A WASHING MACHINE FROM THEM AFTER FIRST TELEPHONING TO SEE IF IT WAS IN STOCK , WITH A DELIVERY OF 2-3DAYS AND A SAVING OF £75 ADVERTISED I WENT AHEAD , 11 DAYS LATER AND A COST OF TWO DAYS OFF WORK FOR UNFULFILLED DELIVERY PROMISES I FINALLY CANCELLED MY ORDER AND GOT A REFUND , IT SEEMS THAT THE TWO PEOPLE AT THE END OF THE PHONE LINE PROBABLY TAKE ALL THE FLACK FOR THINGS THAT ARE NOT THEIR FAULT . I RE-ORDERED FROM THE COOP AT A COST OF AN EXTRA £9 AND IT WAS DELIVERED IN 48 HOURS , NEVER AGAIN WILL I USE AV- ADDICTS , BE WARNED
The washing machine I ordered was in stock at a very competitive price. I ordered it on a Sunday and received email confirmation and a follow-up telephone call on the Monday morning. Delivery was very quick with a further phone call to check that I was satisfied with the service. Excellent company with friendly, informative customer service.
I ordered a Panasonic DMREX83EBK recorder on April 2nd. It was supposedly in stock!! I waited until April 12th - allowing for Easter - then I emailed them and they said it would be here on the 14th. I waited in all day, no recorder, so I emailed them again after getting in touch with consumer protection and told them to cancel my order as they hadn't come up with the goods. I also sent them a recorded delivery letter to confirm my cancellation and request that my money be refunded within 30 days. I am still waiting. They should be shut down. I wish I had seen some of the reviews before ordering.
Realised when I received my dishwasher that I had no documents, waited a few weeks expecting them to arrive but they never turned up. After 3 emails and a number of phone-calls during business hours where no one answered I started to doubt if the company was still running and if I had lost my £103 I paid for the warranty.
Posted on this site my upset and av-addicts contacted me the next day, everything was sorted all in a week, where I received conformation from the warranty company yesterday.
Dishwasher arrived very quickly and in 100% good condition, only upset was the warranty issue, can only think it is a small company that is very busy and finds it hard to provide customer service 100% of the time.
Due to their good prices would most probably use again.
