Chop Chop and quick about it
I had to have a replacement butchers saw and poultry chopper for a demonstration. I ordered on line late at night and then realised I hadn't ordered an extra blade. By 8:20 the following morning the order conformation was returned. I phoned and added the extra blade and up graded to next day delivery. All paid there and then with no question of adjustment to the on line order. Great service many thanks.

Nice to here another birmingham accent I have lived in Cornwall 8 yrs and its always nice to hear a Birmingham accent!

Cleaver delivery didn't cut it!
Ordered a meat cleaver very early one morning and paid extra for next day delivery as I had some lambs to cut up and get in the freezer. Delivery confirmed ok as next day before 12.00 but come the day nothing arrived and I had to mange without the cleaver.
When I called to enquire what had happened I was told that the warehouse operative had written the wrong postcode by 1 letter and my item had been sent to a Plymouth postcode (PL) not Peterborough (PE). They refunded the speedy delivery charge without question but I've now got an expensive cleaver sitting around unused. Suggest they might want to invest in a printed label system for their deliveries not rely on dyslexic warehouse people.

Great friendly service, and a good range of equipment
Looked at the online catalogue, and found some supplies that I couldn't find anywhere else. Ordered online, but also spoke to a sales assistant because I wanted to confirm the delivery charge. Very friendly people, and dispatched the order for free, and it arrived within the week. Will definitely use them again.

Good items but a delivery disaster!
Ordered items on internet - no problem. Advised that there may be extra delivery at time of order but paid the total that came up without any additional price. Next day the salesman calls and advises us that there will be £13 surcharge for courier even though we live in mainland Scotland (Morayshire - not Highlands). So there is a delay while this is paid as there's not paypal facility. When the items are dispatched a 48hr service takes three days (this is not unusual) but they have come via parcelforce, who include our postcode in the same zone as the rest of the UK. No explanation of extra costs given although we requested it.
Items are fine, well packed etc. Salesman did well up to the point where he was asked to explain additional delivery costs. 3 stars for quality of items.

the oval steel i bought is great it has my knives in great order working in a abatoir my knives get plenty off hard work.The online service for paying with your card did not except my card i rang the company got it sorted in 5 mins got next day delivery not a problem.many thanks.

Not the usual great service I have come to expect from Smiths.
I was phoned the day before delivery to tell me 1 item would be missing and would be sent as soon as possible. No problem for me.
The next day part of the delivery arrived and 3 items were missing.
I phoned to ask where they were and was told I would be called back when they knew what had gone wrong. This was Friday, I still have not heard what is happening. It is now Tuesday.
All other times I have used Smiths the service has been great, the communication good and I have never before had any issues.

Good value, good quality product, good delivery service = well satisfied customer.
Thought I'd give myself a change of supplier for my Waxed Duplex wrapping paper as my usual supplier had sent me substandard paper and were very slow to acknowledge and rectify the problem. A W Smith came to view in Google so I gave them a go. Paper arrived and was perfect. Absolutely no chance of going back to my original supplier and I have told them so. The price from AWS was/is far more competitive and original supplier even tried to state that it too could match that good price. Too late.

Second rate product
I bought a sinew puler from here, postage nearly doubled its value.
The puller bent, nearly straight, on the first poultry leg I tried to pull the sinews on. I ended up having to pull the tendons on all the birds with pliers.
Utter Junk.
You really shouldnt sell rubbish like that.

What fantastic customer service
