A great and reliable shop

This shop has been around for decades and my Dad loved to buy his tools from here. That was in person though, before the days of internet shopping. Its good that they are still around and providing an excellent service at prices that can even better those of Amazon.

Sells ex-demos as new - AVOID if you just want new products

We make wheelchairs for disabled children, and needed a new mill. Went to pick it up and was given an ex demo. Despite asking for a new one, was told there wasn't one available. Would have been happy with a discount but not offered on. The mistake was their, and we had to take the hit.

Good place when you are spending £££s on tools

If you are going to buy woodworking machinery, you are either going to be buying cheap rubbish and regretting it, or you will be shelling out a fair bit of cash. If it's the latter, you really want somewhere that will give good advice and after-sales service.

I have had both these things, lots of times, from Axminster.

I have bought several machines and numerous tools, attachments, jigs etc. The staff are always helpful, showing how to use the thing, set it up etc.

I once bought a bandsaw, but had problems setting it up and found the blade blunted quickly. A phone call to the shop resulted in some detailed instructions and a replacement blade in the post, free of charge.

You will always be able to buy cheaper stuff at Screwfix, B&Q etc, but I'm pretty certain you won't be as satisfied as you would have been buying from Axminster.

great for woodturning stuff

used these guys to buy tools and bits and bobs for DIY onwards over the years, and have found them to be generally very good.

Sometimes they don't have the product in store but the deliveries I've had have been good with glitches ironed out well.

Tool Paradise

Can't fault them on quality of products or quality of service and the very nice prices, great online tools store.

Poor product support - avoid

I don't recommend Axminster. Customer service has slumped, product support is not what it used to be. A replacement for Fien, a six week wait!! Axminster I'm shocked by your poor service, a stockist online can get the same part within 3 days! I have been buying from you for years. I note the staff no-longer know their products, it used to be the key selling feature of Axminster which justified paying top prices. Axminster is now an overpriced drop box seller, be wary of their sales pitch placing profit in front of customer service and quality.

Good Range Of Tools

Axminster have a good range of tools with a really good website from which to buy them, their prices are good on some tools and not so good on others (I guess the same with most companies).

Brilliant range, service and aftersales.

Knocks all others into a cocked hat. An excellent family firm.
