Even though it said on the internet that the table that I wanted was in stock it was still a couple of weeks before it could be delivered and the price of the delivery was 39 pounds which I think is very expensive. It also said on the internet that I would get a text message the night before delivery giving me a delivery time window. This never happened so I rang Barker and Stonehouse to get some answers. I got the number off the internet and after getting through, eventually, I was told that this was the after delivery service and they would put me through to another department. I was then told after they had spoken to the driver that delivery would be around an hour. When I asked why had I not received the text message they said that that was just for local deliveries. This was not mentioned on the internet and apart from hearing from Barker and Stonehouse after I had ordered off the internet I have not heard anything from them since until asked for a review. Other companies provide a much better service after ordering and I feel for a company like Barker and Stonehouse they have a lot to learn and should be delivering better! The table however is great and I have no problems with their products.
I recently purchased a very handsome stag statue. I ordered this on a Monday, received it on the Tuesday however this is when you should ALWAYS check the measurements when purchasing off the internet! The Stag was bigger than my dog, she thought that she was being replaced! I reluctantly had to contact your customer service department to see what could be done about returning this, almost life sized, ornament. The lady that helped me was superb and organised collection for me as I would have struggled lifting the box far less getting it to a post office! I did have to laugh at myself even managing to get the stag back into the box, all of the white plastic popcorn packaging had to be poured onto the floor and it looked like Christmas had come early, a large bowl had to be used to pour this all back into the box. The stag was collect 2 days later and I have to say that your service from ordering to delivery to collection was absolutely SUPERB... I will definitely be shopping with you again. In our correspondence I did attach a picture of my little West Highland Terrier getting to know the afore mentioned Stag! Thank you very much for making the whole experience exceptional.
I have been very impressed with Barker and Stonehouse. The furniture is attractive, solid and long lasting. I have used the website, phone-line and delivery service and they have all been easy to use, efficient and reliable.
I had ordered a piece of furniture from a company on the net who totally messed me about so I then cancelled the order and i tried barker and stonehouse, what a difference I had my order within 4 days, delivery was great with regular texs to what time theyd arrive, brilliant!! A very relaxed experiance.
Ordering online was fine. But the tracking service has been down for months. No potential date of readiness of furniture either.
there are some serious staff issues at the Leeds store. very unprofessional. vey disappointed as a customer.
we already have an item of furniture from the Kimberley range, so when the time came to replace a coffee table we thought we'd take a peak in b&s, low and behold exactly what we wanted and at a reduced price ! within 2 weeks its here,and its perfect.

I was looking for a large wooden framed mirror , more interesting than a regular rectangle and one that looked high quality for a bedroom.
I found it here - no other site matched the arched shape on a landscape shaped mirror. Better stillI I hit a discount deal so am pleased to have an excellent item ,looking more expensive than it is and better than expected price. Appreciated the phone call to arrange delivery too. Thanks!
Our recent purchase of a table and chairs for our kitchen turned out to be another good buy. We have had several items of furniture from Barker and Stonehouse over the last few years and have always been pleased with the quality and the price.
Purchased a lovely sideboard recently on-line. Easy enough to order and expected to pick up in store using click and collect service within 7days. unfortunately it took 2 weeks . The staff in store however were most helpful and actually picking up the furniture was made very easy.
Will use again
When the cabinet arrived it was beautiful. The two delivery guys were very friendly and helpful getting the item into the correct room, despite the fact that it was a bit of a squeeze to get in.
Would happily shop with them again.
Bought the lidgate bed as a solid wood bed with veneers. No one told me the veneers were applied to chipboard. Trading standards and consumer advice agree with me that this description is misleading.
Staff on the phone were rude and unhelpful as well as confrontational; not willing to listen to what I was saying. Leeds store staff much more helpful.
At Newcastle university, we aspired to own barker and stonehouse goods. I won't buy from them again.
Found product we wanted at a reasonable price but initially had problems contacting customer services. Also we had to contact them again after our online order to pay for Stainguard as it wasn't offered as an option when we bought it online. However customer advisers are all friendly and helpful when you speak to them.
Fantastic product. Only disappointment was the dictated delivery day and time. Was forced to take day off work as was told 13th Nov was the only day the deliveries were being done in my area and they could not give me an alternative until they knew when there was more orders from the area. Was only able to give me all day time slot too. On the day delivery men were great and very efficient but more choice of delivery to suit me would have been appreciated.
Asked numerous salesman to see I they could help us. 2 of them completely ignored us and the third one was unfriendly. Ended buying online so I didn't have to deal with them face to face. Product great, staff in Leeds bad!

Bought 2 x wardrobes having viewed first in Nottingham store. Good price but was not made aware they come as a flat pack with 1000 screws plus needs 2 strong persons with time to assemble. Product good quality though. Thanks

We bought a Zanzibar teak television table which is just what I have been looking for, for ages. It was delivered to me and th e driver called me to say when he would be there and he was there at exactly the time he told me.

My parents shop with B&S all the time. We don't have a store near us but I was happy to see I could purchase online. So far the experience has been very disappointing. 1month after placing the order and paying for the goods they still have not arrived. When enquiring about the delay I received a very curt response to say they were "due into them" 4days ago with no apology or explanation of when they would reach me.
Second time Ive ordered from Barker and Stonehouse, and second time Ive had delivery issues. It seems if youre not based in the north or in London you get given a slot and if you're unavailable on that date they can't even tell you "the next time they'll be in your area."
Click and collect suggests you will quickly have your ordered goods but when your order is not given any priority for transfer to the shop and you end up waiting 10 days to collect it compares poorly against the likes of John Lewis.
A very easy to use website with a large range of rugs at good prices. Our rug was delivered promptly and easily without having to pick up from any depot. Delivered rug looks and measures exactly as website.
Saw the bed frame online and ordered it. Delivery took longer than I expected, about 10 days, but all contact with the logistic people were brilliant as were the people who delivered it. Not cheap but you get what you pay for as they say. The quality is good and we are delighted with it.
Would not use again, no contact from them about delay.
I saw my sofa on the internet, I don't have time to go shopping at the moment so i ordered it online.....I was a bit worried the quality wouldn't live up to my expectations , it was just perfect ,i was so pleased and the delivery service was also very good. I am one very happy lady.
I picked up some great bargains in the summer sale within the store - very friendly and helpful staff and real high quality furniture - delighted with dining room table & chairs.
The aftercare was also very good (I called to enquire about cleaning products to use on my table) and have since ordered a clock directly from the web, which arrived within a few days.
All in all seamless online and in-store experience which few other comapanies seem to get right.
My expectations with regard to the duration of my delivery were totally mismanaged. Once you place the order, there is no indication on estimated delivery date, it only says somewhere on the webpage that the delivery takes 2-3 weeks. I also read somewhere on the webpage that for accesories the delivery was much faster, so thought that my pillows (which could be classified as accesories would be delivered earlier).
The online tracking system does not work, so you either have to send an e-mail or call in. I e-mailed in and there was no answer to my first e-mail. When I e-mailed for the second time, after 2.5 weeks of my order, I still wasn't able to get any exact date of when shall I expect my pillows to come in.
Now, 3 weeks are gone and I still haven't received my order. I called in and looks like they are somewhere around to be dispatched soon and the operator told me that my order should be with me by Monday latest (today being Friday).
Poor service, was advised receive within 72 hrs of purchase, delivered - delivery driver didnt even attempt to deliver took straight to the post office so no calling card, took 14 emails to both barker and stonehouse and parcel force to track down, then I had to collect and carry it home - not home delivery - very poor indeed - this is my second attempt to order online from barker and stonehouse, and will never give myself the displeasure of doing so again
