As an avid amazon and ebay shopper I order things online frequently. I am generally very happy with online purchases and order most items online to keep myself out of the stores.
I ordered a dress via bealls on amazon for a Christmas concert for my daughter. Purchasing this dress was a big deal for her as she has some major parts in the program this year. To say she was excited would be a huge understatement. Upon checkout I noticed that the shipping had increased from 3$ to 12$. I was fine with the cost as I assumed such a high cost would at least assure me priority shipping. Upon checkout I was horrified to see that the arrival date was going to be close to 14 days estimated and immediately contacted customer service as this would completely miss our engagement. Please note that we live in Alaska however priority mail still costs the same amount, and ships in 3-5 days ensuring the item would be here in time. I also checked the policies of Bealls Florida and noted that they almost always ship priority mail.
Upon contact customer service was entirely lacking. Amazons site let me know that I should contact seller to cancel the item and I emailed them, but they insisted that they could not cancel the item as it had already shipped (mysterious as it had no tracking information) I then contacted again and they insisted it had shipped. Today on thanksgiving somehow the status has changed and now shows shipped per ups however no one ships on Thanksgiving and the UPS website has no information on the package except a label was created. There is zero reason they could not have canceled the order as I contacted almost immediately after purchase. To make matters significantly worse they keep stating that I can return the item, mind you this is at my cost, so 12$ plus my return shipping for a tiny 24$ dress, and they can take weeks before they give you your refund (all stated on their company website on amazon). Don't believe me look at their policies. I would avoid this company at all cost. Most likely if you don't need customer service you will have no issue but... if you do and we all know things happen occasionally they will do NOTHING to make you happy.
I have dealt with other merchants on Amazon and have received very good experience with most of them when it comes to flexibility and price match; however, this company is not very flexible in assisting and satisfying their customers...I ordered some frames on Amazon and wanted them to ship them to a different address because I accidentally put in the wrong address. Instead of making it right, they chose to cancel the order. When I tried to reorder, the price of the product rose so I asked if they could match the previous price and a flat NO...This company seems to have very bad training in customer service wise like who cares whether you are going to buy from them or not...bad attitude...they can easily make things right for customers like me but NOPE, they got enough customers to maintain their business I guess...so disappointed in their management!
