I purchased the sealy burbank bed which cost nearly £600. I got a call 4 weeks after saying it was delayed by another 4 to 6 weeks. I am currently sleeping on an airbed so this was very annoying, but I have just found out that they have gone bankrupt and the company no longer exists! I will not be getting my mattress or the money back. JUST BEFORE CHRISTMAS TOO! Very upset.

If you are owed money by us, within the next few days you will receive notice that a meeting of creditors is to be held pursuant to Section 98 of the Insolvency Act 1986. A notice of the creditors meeting will be sent to you tomorrow by email unless you advise by return that you wish to receive a hard copy.
Firstly, we would like to stress that absolutely every effort has been made to avoid this most unhappy outcome. The company has been actively seeking investment for some time but after a final meeting yesterday, the difficult decision of deciding the company’s future has been made. It is not an outcome that was given any serious consideration until recently when the threat of closing the company became very sudden and real. We would also like to stress that your order was processed in good faith and with every intention of fulfilling it to the usual outcome and so once again this decision was not taken at all lightly as we are fully aware of the circumstances this will have for our customers with orders or refunds outstanding.
Which leads us to important information that will understandably be your first concern: how do you claim your money back?
With all funds that were held by our company at the time of its closure being frozen, we advise that you contact your bank or credit card company as quickly as possible. If you paid for our products via credit card, you will be protected by the Consumer Credit Act and should contact your credit card company to make a claim in this respect. There is a similar system called chargeback for the protection for payments made via debit cards operated by Visa. When contacting them please explain that you have ordered a product online from a company that is in the process of entering liquidation and ask to begin the process of a chargeback. This process and its outcome can differ depending on the bank therefore please ask them, if you are not aware already of your entitlement and cover in this regard.
Finally, we would like to offer our most serious and profuse apologies again. We understand that this is incredibly unfortunate news for you and comes as a great shock at what will largely be considered the worst time of year for this to transpire.
Please avoid this company , cowboy outfit , whenever you phone , despite being number one in the queue it takes at least half an hour to get an answer and that's if your lucky , getting a refund is nigh on impossible even with proof that a bed has been returned , and e- mails get ignored as soon as a problem arises , I am now £130.00 out of pocket and have had to get my credit card company and company solicitor involved , I am also contacting Watchdog , keep an eye out on BBC !!
Ordering online was simple with an immediate email confirmation but it's completely down hill from there. When I heard nothing for 3 days regarding delivery I called customer services and finally got through after 25 minutes on hold - the person was surprised to see that nothing was arranged for delivery, then said it could be delivered 4 days later. I said fine but needless to say they didn't show up. I tried the customer services again but gave up eventually as no one answered and tried emailing. After many emails I received a reply saying they have no idea when my bed would be delivered!! I am dumbfounded that they can't give me any clue as to where my order is or when it would be delivered. I am now trying to get a refund but I expect this to be another long painful process. Spend your money elsewhere, the bargains are not worth it.
Top service. Ordered a mattress online with a 5 to 10 working day delivery time, requested a delivery day. Got contacted almost straight away to tell me that day wasn't available but that they'd be in touch again to rearrange. True enough got a call a few days after to arrange delivery. Was given a time slot and drivers called to tell me they were close, then took it to the room. About as smooth a procedure as you could expect really.
I placed an order for a bed and mattress on the Monday with a delivery date of the Friday. Stupidly not realising that the mattress ordered was a 10 day item. Lovely gentleman called me to explain this and promptly sent me an email with alternatives so my delivery date could be maintained. I emailed them back with the change a new confirmation email was sent and the difference in cost refunded back within 3 days, excellent service. On the Friday called the customer service team to see if there was going to be a rough time for delivery, again sent me a very polite email with the tracking information. I would re use this company again and again and would recommend them to anyone. Great prices and Great Service what else is needed.
Ordered a bed and mattress for saturday delivery. First saturday wait in all day and all that arrives is a few slats the next tuesday thankfully my neighbour was in to take delivery of the rest of the bed no mattress to be seen, promised saturday delivery and now waiting on the 3rd saturday with no sign of the bed. bedcentreuk need to change their suppliers and delivery, they have decent customer service, but that doesnt help when XDP their delivery have no clue... untill then avoid at all costs.
I ordered a guest bed on Tuesday morning needing delivery by the Friday. Delivery arrived on the Thursday just like I requested in the morning. Staff were very polite when arranging delivery and the bed is great - according to my dad. Thank you!
Placed my order a week ago, and selected today (17/08/13) for delivery. Heard nothing by phone or email. Phoned Bed centre UK. When they finally answered they were immediately able to identify my order, but then could find no delivery details, and I was put on hold for a vey long time. Eventually I was told that my mattress was part of a very big order being sent to BedcentreUK from the supplier, and would not reach them until 30/08/13, after which time they could deliver it to me. They did agree to refund my money, but I am left a week after my initial order having made no further progress and having taken my only scheduled weekday off work for the next 3 weeks. Totally useless
Mattress ordered 19th August and money promptly taken, no call from delivery company to confirm delivery (as yet 16 days later) still no info on an ETA after several calls (nobody answers) and a couple of emails (they don't acknowledge/respond to). I also tried leaving a voicemail requesting a call back with no joy!
I have now sent an email requesting immediate refund due to lack of product and communication - how they are in business I have no idea.
OK I am updating this review and offering 2 stars as they have got back to me now and the employee was very courteous and apologetic. I cancelled my order as I have already purchased elsewhere and he was understanding of this and promised a refund within 5 days so I'm hopeful I'll see my money again soon.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS! DONT DELIVER GOODS THEN HOLD YOUR MONEY!! I ordered my mattress online on Saturday 3rd August using the online service it stated on the site Bed centre UK has the mattress in stock for next day delivery. I requested a specific delivery date of Tuesday 6th August as it was my only day off work. Tuesday the day of my delivery I rang Bed centre UK as on the site it says you can get an estimated time of arrival when I spoke to them they told me they are not able to do this as it doesn't come from them, it comes from the manufacturer (EVEN THOUGH THEIR SITE SAYS THEY HAVE STOCK) but it would be delivered that day. Waited till 6:30pm tried to ring the customer services number waited for 45 mins and was cut off. I rang the next morning on my break was waiting for 15 mins and had to go back to work. Waiting again on my break for 25 minutes finally spoke to someone who said they were delivering the bed that day (wed 7th august) and was told the couldn't get in touch with the courier driver for 2 days. This gave me no confidence in the company so I requested a refund. I was then told it would be in my bank 1-2 days (Friday). On Friday I still had no money in my bank so after work I was on hold for 1 hour and 10 minutes when the line went dead again. I finally got through on Monday and was told my money would clear in my bank Wednesday and it actually takes 3-5 days to clear? I waited again till Wednesday and surprise surprise no money again. I called the bed centre waited a further 20 minutes to get through and was told when I spoke to an advisor that they very busy I will get my money and to call back tomorrow (Thursday) I refused and asked him to sort the money as I was on the line as I refuse to spend more money calling this joke company. After a sigh and what can be described as an adult huff on his end he finally put me on hold and rang accounts. I was then told the refund hadn't even been processed but it had now and the money would be in my bank within24 hrs. I finally today received my refund but now out of pocket due to the lengthy and various phone calls I have had to make as this cowboy company cannot stick to their word! Don't waste your time and money!!!!!
I ordered a bed on 15th May 2013 which was showing on their website as "in stock for next day delivery" I placed the order then web chatted a representative to confirm the order would be delivered the next day and was assured it would be. I emailed the company to ask for a delivery time slot and heard nothing. I the day of delivery in the afternoon I received an email saying that the bed could not be delivered until late June.
I was told that in order to have them together I should expect a phone call between 28/01 - 01/02,which it was fine by me
I never received any phone call!
So I called on 01/02 and they gave me a new date for both my bed+mattress to be delivered @ 12/02/13
Meanwhile I sent an email asking for some clarifications
It took a total of two emails and five days to respond in a simple query!
On Tuesday, 12/02/13 I was expecting both mattress and bed
Only the mattress arrived!
One member of the customer services promised to call me in advance the next day to know roughly when to expect the bed
Indeed on Wednesday 13/02 someone did call me in the morning and told me to expect the bed between 1300 - 1800.So I waited..
But the delivery man was (supposedly) coming at the same time in the morning!
Apart from the fact that I was told otherwise, I didn't have any phone call, voice mail or card left to my apartment indicating that a delivery guy came from my apartment in the morning.So they lied to me as well..!
When the delivery arrived the next day,there was only one man, and I had to carry more than half of the items by myself!
I also found three damaged slats and I was informed that they would send a replacement
Indeed the new slats arrived on Saturday, 19/02/13
They were longer from the ones that I needed!
I called back on Monday 18/02/13 to ask for replacements , only to be told that they needed the measurements of the new ones because they don't know their slats' measurements (!!) and I guess I cannot see whether a slat fits under my bed...!
On Tuesday 19/02 I gave the measurements @ 0900 in the morning and was waiting for a phone call confirmation..
After 6 1/2 hours without a phone call confirmation, I had to make a fuss in order to receive an answer!
Just to be told that 2 slats will be delivered the next day and the other the day after!!!!!
Eventually I sent an email-complaint to the sales supervisor.. It's been more than a week now and still no response!!!!!
awaiting delivery of secound mattress as first one damaged. Bad customer service, no apology or offer of compensation, very very poor communication. Having to chase them. I was told to expect a call within the hour after informing them of the damage to the first mattress, 72 hours later they contacted me. despite offering next day delivery they are very reluctant to send it this way, as they state it is more likely to get damaged! the first one did with two man delivery. Why offer next day delivery on a heavy mattress if this is the case. However the company does offer very good value for money.
