If you are a superman and can schedule your works incorporating 2-3 weeks delay for shipping and time for chasing these guys then by all means use them.
I have placed 2 orders with BHL and had to chase both orders. Seems to me they only deliver when chased. No email updates of progress of order is provided. Most firms I order from via the internet deliver within a few days majority next day, BHL is several weeks and need chasing. As I am a sole trader this is frustrating and effects my customer service significantly.
Having given 1 star rating needs to be qualified as they have not been rude or unreasonable.

Ordering was easy. The cost was really competitive compared to other websites. Finding out how and when the part would arrive was easy as the staff replied to emails immediately. If all purchases online were as easy and straightforward as this one I would be very happy! Thank you BHL :)
After ordering a 4033 timer it arrived (drop shipped) with both timer to manual switches broken I have sent this back at the cost of £ 6.50.
I asked for a refund we got one after three phone calls. But not the whole amount oh no! Bumfords decided to keep their postage of approx £ 7.15 so this has cost me £ 13.65 to receive a broken part and send it back.
Now that's what I call customer service. NOT !!!! Beware when ordering online it could have been a boiler. ?????????

Have used them a couple of times now & on both occasions the service has been good with the right products received at the right prices. Can fully recommend.
BHL (actually, their supplier, PTS) delivered my radiators (10 of them, on a pallet). The delivery was incomplete and I had to wait in a second time for the remainder to arrive. Fair enough, although it would have been nice to know beforehand.
3 weeks after the initial incomplete delivery my plumber arrived and we unpacked them from the pallet. One radiator was found to be damaged. BHL refused to replace the damaged radiator with another, pointing out their 7 day policy for reporting faulty goods. It is illegal to enforce these terms on a consumer, but they don't seem to care about this (the sale of goods act states consumers have a 'reasonable' about of time to inspect goods). They then persuaded the manufacturer's rep to visit, who botched a repair attempt, getting paint on his suit in the process!
After two weeks of constant phone calls to (and being fobbed off by) BHL, I contacted my credit card company who issued the refund.

I ordered a toilet seat and it duly arrived as stated in 3-4 days and all was good... or so I thought. Upon opening the box a few days later to fit it a realised it was missing a crucial part - the hinge bar, so couldn't fit it. I called and they were apologetic and said that they would get 1 sent direct from manufacturer and would take 3-4 days. Didn't arrive!!!
Called again and was told that they couldn't get 1 from the manufacturer so would open a box from stock and get it sent on to me in 3-4 days. Didn't arrive!!!
Called again and they said that the box they opened didn't have 1 in either so couldn't send it to me. They didn't even call to let me know this so was delayed again. They said they would get 1 from another branch and said they would send it on. Didn't arrive!!!!
Called again and they said they would definitely get one sent out and didn't know what happened to the other one - I don't believe they even sent it.
It arrived eventually.... I ordered in early September and the part arrived mid November, so only 3 months then........ If you do order from BHL and it is complete - well done and I'm sure all will be fine. If it's NOT complete - BE PREPARED FOR THE WAIT!
don't know if this was the fault of BHL or delivery co.but had to contact BHL about none delivery having stayed in all day.Delivery driver said he did not try our door bell because he did not see our car on the drive and thought we would be out,not even a note to say he had called.Full marks to BHL for arranging delivery same day I made contact.
Item did not arrive on time when it did it was black not white. The replacement did not arrive on time when it did there was no order to recover the incorrect item that was only taken after informing BHL they had not picked it up. My Wife and I waited in several days for couriers who did not arrive, Fred Karno's army comes to mind!
Fairly long delivery time but arrived exactly as promised and excellent product.
I've used BHL before and would highly recommend checking out their website. From my own experience, you will struggle to find a better price, including delivery. One or two others may at first appear to be cheaper but make sure you check their delivery charges. Delivery is really quick and you'll quite likely find that the goods are actually supplied by a well known national outlet. I like to source items myself rather than leave it to my plumb/heating installer to source them for me as I'm convinced I can get a better price by buying online.
Bought a Myson over door mounted fan convector heater from BHL delivered promptly, well packed.
Once installed by adding to my gas central heating it performed perfectly, solving the lack of heating in my small kitchen where I was unable to fit a standard radiator, I'm really pleased.
Honestly with a company serves well. I ordered an extended flue. Leading up to me ordering it I was on the phone to one of the advisors at BHL who gathered as much information regarding Baxi Brazillia heaters that he could. He even rang them and managed to get a PDF document directly emailed to me from them, to your company - straight to me. All within 30 mins. From past experience after the end of a phone call nothing materialises but he actually helped me and i felt went the extra mile, it was a shame i did not get his name.
Once i ordered online a few days later after plenty of research for this to be the right part. I waited a week for acknowledgment of a delivery date. I rang as received nothing. The advisor checked and came back and was honest. Said, problems with the supplier but they had in fact changed who they were getting it from and i would be to expect delivery on the following Thursday. This was really delaying things. However, these things happen with suppliers and it cant be helped. one of those things. Would you believe it, it arrived on the Thursday in the time frame given with a polite smiley driver at the end of it.
Very pleased. Happy, polite and honest and go the extra mile.
My order went through with no problem. I was given a delivery date which was OK initially but I had to change it at the last minute. So I decided to phone to see if it was possible to make a change so close to the advised delivery date. The chap on the phone was really helpful didn't make a fuss about leaving it late to change. My boiler and accessories were delivered within the time scale I asked for, can't get better than that. Unfortunately I am only an end user purchasing the boiler to be installed by others. So I won't have much call to use your services very often , but would have no hesitation in recommending you to anyone.
The Osma gasket I ordered took almost 2 weeks to arrive, not good when the customers toilet is waiting to be connected. Ended up fitting a new stack, couldn't wait that long, now I'm out of pocket, once bitten........

Good points - keeping me well informed.
Bad points - 6 weeks to deliver some toilet seats, if I do eventually get them as promised on 04/11/13. Really??
At least you could wait until I have received the goods before you ask my opinion.
The gas fire I purchased was very good value. However the delivery date was not met and I was not given sufficient back up as to when delivery would be made and this meant that I had to make numerous calls to finally establish a delivery date. Which was two weeks later than expected.
The book was an expensive purchase being a limited edition,and this was reflected in the service and packaging ( it was packaged in three boxes), the book was still in publishers packing and obviously untouched. Delivery was quicker than expected - just two working days.
The items I ordered took over a week to arrive and BHL failed to provide any update on the progress. The status remained unchanged until the item was delivered. Whilst I understand it may occasionally take longer than stated for items to be delivered this is no excuse for not keeping customers informed. I will try to find other suppliers in the future. When questioned about the lack of updates BHL were unconcerned. Just very poor customer service
We tried everywhere to locate a replacement 'toilet seat' manufactured by Ideal Standard. BHL came up with the best price and and express delivery, we certainly got what we ordered and 'just in time'

After trying all my local trade suppliers for this product, had to result to internet search.
Chose this company based on the fact they are in the Heating & Plumbing trade and thus should know the product.
Thoroughly impressed on the Service and will use them again for sure.
It was sometimes difficult to get through on the telephone. Prices were very competitive but the eventual suppliers delivered 1 of the radiators with severe marks on one. A replacement was ordered but when that came it came with worse scratches on it than the first one !!! I am still awaiting a replacement & a decision re compensation
The prices are good but no stock level information given at the time of ordering, so my recent order for radiators was estimated to be delivered 6-weeks after ordering. This was OK for me but beware.
In the event, the day before the delivery date, I received an email indicating a further four day delay. However, the order was delivered (from Plumb Centre) on the original date, without any phone call beforehand. Fortunately I was at home to receive the order but one can see this could have been problematic.
