From beginning to end, the staff were friendly, interested and incredibly helpful. I was fussy and knew what I wanted and despite the exact bike not being in the store, the staff arranged for one to be built and ready for me to view at my convenience.
After a lot of time and a couple of appointments, I purchased a beautiful bike that ticked all the boxes for me and I am very happy!

Just bought a road bike. Spoke to Pete at Weston on the phone who was very friendly and accommodating about getting in the bikes I wanted to test ride. When I came to test the bikes he was very assiduous about getting them set up for me and gave me both plenty of advice as well as time to ride them. I bought a bike. So far so good. If in the end it doesn't suit me I've only got myself to blame! I hope all the other staff give such good service.
Have purchased two bikes from bicyclechain and many parts. All the staff are helpful and friendly and always more than willing to give advice and views. Even when it comes to servicing and work, if they can fit it in before your booked time slot, they'll do it. E.g. Took a set of wheels in on a weds evening for truing on Friday, but they ended up doing it there and then.
A knowledgeable team at the Weston branch and a good choice of bikes to choose from. Bought a bike a bit over my budget but when the benefits were explained it looked worth paying a bit more. Now having used the bike I can see the benefits of buying a bike with lockout on the front suspension.
They really took time to understand what we wanted and then suggested a couple of options without any pressure towards the most expensive or top of the range accessories. As part of the service they had our bikes back after six weeks to check them over free of charge.

I visited Bicycle chain and was impressed with the range of bikes, after some advice i purchased a specialized sirrus hybrid, there were a couple of issues with the bike in the first few weeks, but i have to say i have been extremely impressed with the response of bicycle chain, all the problems were sorted quickly and with no fuss.
I would not hesitate to recommend them or the bike, which apart from the initial issues is a joy to use.
Really helpful when putting my package together. Bike, Trek 8.5 hybrid, is great. Big let down is price of accessories. If I had looked around could have saved myself a fortune. Staff should have helped with competitive prices ( lights for bike were £35 cheaper elsewhere). Would never buy accessories from Weston Bicycle Chain again.

The staff at the bicycle chain were all very helpful, as I broke my back 2 years before they advised me which bike to go for, a Giant was chosen .
husband bought a bike about 2 years ago and had problems with it but nothing seem to be to much trouble. customer service is top notch.8 week ago I bought a electric bike and the battery wouldn't keep charge so took it back and everything possible was done to make things right. cant beat the customer service that you get from bike chain. Will always recommend. A++++++
I was excited when entering this store to purchase my first bike as I wanted to take up road touring but wanted a cheap bike to practice on. The young lad that assisted me was helpful and I purchased a lot of accessories for my bike which were put on for me, but the original parts which were taken off like for example the tyres were not returned and I had to have my partner to call in on a few occasions to get these returned which i think was really poor service on their part, I felt an apology would have been nice but nothing was said and I feel that because I am a woman and because I didn't spend a huge amount of money that my purchase did not matter to them my partner had a lot better service when he bought his bike which was over £1000. I will not be using this business again and would rather cycle extra miles to get a better service I think once you lose your trust in a company its best not to use. I feel if i'd of spent more money then I would have been treated better. Also I feel there are too many people in one store and sometimes no one seems to know what is going on which is why it took so long to get my things returned but if i hadn't of asked I would never have got them back which is poor practice in my eyes.
We received excellent service when purchased a road bike using the bike 2 work scheme.
The staff, especially James went out of his way to source the Ladies Bianchi that I wanted as it was out of stock elsewhere.
Bicycle chain also allowed us to reserve the bike for a small deposit while we waited for the voucher to come through - this was something other suppliers wouldn't allow us to do.
Overall we received a high level of service. Thank-you !
Good service - not too pushy and knew what they were talking about. Obviouslythey want to sell you something, but whilst they could have pushed a particluar bike or "special offer", they didn't and took the time to go through the options with us. A much better experience than going to a Halfords type store.
I spent several weeks recently looking for a hybrid bike to take me to work and home with occasional use on tracks and mild off road riding. I'm sure I fit some sort of hideous sterotype in terms of cycling "types"....but at no point did anyone in The Bicycle Chain make me feel that.
I got sound, common sense advice from the start of my enquiries. I tried varuous bikes, they shipped one in from another branch for me to try - I went away, came back, went away - you get the picture. They worked really hard for the sale - bettering thier competitors prices and after sales promises. Most of all though they actually seemed to care about finding and selling me the right bike, not just the most trick or most expensive - they stood head and shoulders above the competition for that alone.
A few months ago i purchased a bike for over £500. Within the first week the crank arm came off and i almost got run over as a result. About a week after this was repaired the chain bounced onto the crankshaft as i was changing gear on a flat road and as a result i ended up in hospital with severe damage to my ribs and legs! After the bike was picked up as i could not ride it in the state it was in i was told i would receive a phone call to tell me what was wrong and why this failure had occurred. I received no phone call to arrange my full refund so went into the shop. The person who picked the bike up told me they couldn't find anything. wrong with it eventhough the mangled bike was in the shop floor in front of me with a two page list of damages to it! I was grudgingly given my refund without so much as an apology for what i can see was a substandard bike not fit for purpose which ultimately led to my four week absence from work and a cast on my leg not to mention the.puncture wounds and scars i have
I have been a customer of Bicycle Chain for a couple of years having bought a total of 3 bikes. I am a thoroughly satisfied customer. Having had a few early niggles with my most recent bike (not the fault of the shop) I have to say the customer service is fantastic. Nothing has been too much trouble for them in sorting out any of my needs. I have plans to buy a 4th bike for my son soon and will return again for any bike related things I need. To summarise. . Fantastic.
Really, really helpful. Listened to what I wanted to achieve; discussed my options and I tried a number of bikes and came away really pleased. I love my bike!!
The chap who helped me gave me a good run through of the pros and cons for each of the bikes I liked, and there was plenty of space outside to take the bikes for a test drive. The bike I liked was in stock so I was able to take there and then. At no point did I feel there was any hard sale or pressure to buy. The chap seemed very knowledgable.
The staff are helpful and knowledgeable and are willing to take the time to explain the options that best suit you. There is also a good variety of bikes available. The thing that really makes them stand out from other bike shops I tried though is they have the space to allow you to try out the bikes first which is very very helpful when choosing one to suit you.
Having been a "valued" customer of the Bicycle Chain for some twelve years, I can say that I have constantly received exceptional customer service and advice and during this time have purchased many new bikes. i have continually recommended this shop to many friends looking to buy bikes for themselves and often pop in just for some friendly banter!
The 2 chaps I have dealt with in the last year when buying my 3 bikes have been very friendly, they have offered great advise and have been very professional. No job is too much trouble I would definitely recommend, excellent.

I recently bought a Madone 2.1 from the Bridgwater store and couldn't have asked for a better service. I dealt with Ryan who was helpful, informative and didn't apply pressure to buy. Left the store an hour later with bike, pedals and shoes and a smile.
Considering a bike fitting next given the good service for buying.
The only very minor point was that I found out later the 105 pedals are sold everywhere else cheaper but given the good service I wasn't too concerned.
The service I received the whole time I was buying my new bike was second to none, I dealt with Alex, he was extremely thorough and knowledgeable and he was not pushing me to buy the most expensive bike, but what in his opinion was going to be best for me!!
I would certainly use them again and would recommend others to do so

I went to the store looking for a road bike and the staff went through all the choices, spoke to me about my ability and usuage, let me try the bikes on the test track and fitted me the perfect bike. It was serviced there and then to take away whilst I was fitted with shoes and chose some pedals. And the best part was it was 0% finance, no hidden fees. So I now have a great bike tailored to me at a competitive price on a great finance deal.

Alex listened to what I had to say regarding spec and price. He sorted out a number of bikes for me to try and even gave a discount to match my price limit.
When I picked up the bike (Women's Giant) he spent more than an hour setting it up to my size/needs.
Still need to go back for the first service, but looking forward o seeing them.
I had ordered a bike from Wiggle, which after 5 days of waiting in still hadn't arrived. No such problems at the Bicycle Chain. Get back to the high street shoppers!
My wife and I booked our mountain bikes in for a Service and purchased a bike for our 5 year old daughter, the help and attention was 5 Star. We collected the bikes approx 4 weeks later as that was the earliest we could collect them. The bikes had been a gift a few years ago and had literally been ridden 3 times so tyres still had bobbles and bikes were very dusty. The bikes had not been cleaned at all upon collection, I don't know if that's part of the service but even if a damp cloth had been wiped over them it would have been an improvement. I went out for a bike ride with my daughter a couple of days later and everything was fine and the bike felt great. My wife took her bike out for her first ride with a friend and came back very frustrated as the handle bars were loose and had swivelled around and the from reflector had come loose as well. I grabbed an Allen key and a couple of scanners from the garage and tightened them myself. I work in the automotive industry and deal with customer feed back all the time, I really couldn't be bothered to telephone and report this but in hind sight you need to know this so you can see who worked on my wife's bike and discuss this with the bike mechanic/ Technician.
I treated myself to a new Trek Damone 4 and was very pleased with the service I had. After 2 weeks of owning the bike I had a mechanical issue with the bike and ended up coming off. back wheel badly buckled and gear and back sprocket in a bit off a mess frame scratched etc. Took the bike back to the shop all repairs carried out under warranty and could not fault the service. 1 week later and the bike just didn't seem right so I took it back and they found the spokes were loose left the bike with them. Phone call in the afternoon saying that because I have such bad luck with the bike there was another brand new bike waiting for me at the shop. Fantastic after service.
I had a pedal collapse on my John'O'Groats to Lands End trip. Turned up at your Taunton Shop at Thursday 27th June at 9.00am and was on my way with new pedals by 09:20am thanks to Alex; quick, frendly and efficient. I completed my unsupported JOGLE in 14 days.
recently bought a bike from them. They were more than happy for me to try several different bikes on their own outdoor track to see which I preferred. wealth of knowledge and understanding and a willingness to help.
After sales service - average - didn't get a bike fitting,i.e. saddle height to suit bike to suit customers size!!! Left to my own devices!! When I brought it and when I triallled it in the car park.
Well laid out clean and tidy shop, friendly and supportive staff with no overt sales pressure or trying to add items to raise the price. Fitting was done proffesionally with understanding of individual needs. After sales excellent changes made at no cost to ensure everything was perfect. Would highly revommend and will be using Bicycle chain in the future.
I can't rate Bicycle Chain highly enough, from start to finish of the sale process for a team of 4 inexperienced riders undertaking John O Groats to Lands End they provided patient skilled advice and a really good value proposition for us.
Post sales they have been equally as good, adjusting our bikes and riding positions to suit all of our individual needs.
Why would you use a national when a local company such as these cam provide you with all you need at the best price and definitely with the best service

Complete novice to cycling, wasn't sure what type of bike to go for. Person answered all my questions and gave me guided options. I Found the bike I liked and he cut a bit of price to close the deal. Wasn't sure if there were other bikes he could offered of ordered from a bigger store? Nevertheless, very happy with new bike and service given.
