I had less than 5 hours in London as I stopped there for a long transit. I feel I could see a good part of the center of London with Bigbustours. It was a rainy day so sitting in the bus and listening the guide was nice. But it makes different depending on the guide. I had two different ones and the second guide was a good talker and I was more eager to listen to him.
We have been to London a few times and have never been able to see as many sights as we did on the Big Bus Tour. It's so easy to catch the bus and get off and back on wherever you like, there are loads of bus stops. The gentleman that did the live commentary on our bus was lovely and friendly and very informative. It's great that the buses all have free ponchos in case it rains and you're on the top deck and also free earphones to listen to the recorded commentary. To make it even better you get a river cruise up the Thames included in your ticket, which was amazing, it had got dark when we did this and it was so lovely to see the London eye and the bridge lit up. All in all me, my husband and two children, eight and five had a crammed pack, very enjoyable day all thanks to Big Bus Tours and their wonderful staff.
Me and my family thought the bus tours and commentaries by the guide were excellent.
This was spoiled when I asked the guide for details about which bus we should get on for a particular destination. We were barked at with " If you had been listening, you'd have heard...". Not the way to speak to customers. Me and my wife were made to feel like 4 year old school kids rather than 40 year old paying customers. What made it worse was it was I front of a bus full of people. We were left not wanting to ask further questions after our dressing down.
A real shame this happened because the tours and live commentaries are very good.
Everything worked out smoothly with the Big Bus tours. It is greate to be able to get on and off several times to see the different sites. We found the staff to be very knowledgeable and the tour guide entertaining.
The first bus we got on there was no guide and the driver was going so fast we missed st pauls cathedral as we only stopped at the bus stop for seconds so by the time we realised we were there we had gone past it,later on after we had been on the river cruise the same thing again,we went past everything so fast it was impossible to take any decent photos!
The entire experience with Big Bus was disappointing. We bought our tickets online and went to the information center as directed to pick up the tickets. We were told to turn left out of the office and head down the street one block to the stop on the corner and wait for the next bus. We were also told that a Big Bus attendant would be there at the stop. We got to the stop and there was no attendant. We waited at this stop for more than 30 minutes before a bus arrived, although the advertised times were 10-15. The bus that arrived was completely full inclusive of the aisles. Understandably, the driver would not let any additional passengers on board. By this time as we were waiting we counted at least 3 of The Original Bus Tour Bus's pass by our location. Tired of waiting and not wanting to wait another 30 minutes for the Big Bust to come by again we went back to the information center to seek a refund on our tickets and stated that we were disappointed with our experience and inability to join a tour. At the information center they stated they were unable to provide a refund. Very poor customer service all around.
We rode in the bus and after an hour or so was able to finally get a decent seat.
By then we were near downtown London and soon got of to do some walking. We walked for about an hour and half and got back on with no problem to finish the tour. We managed a top side seat for the last hour or so. The views from there were splendid! The city and surrounds were stunning when dusk arrived and all the lights created quite a good visual to remember. Very cool!
Recommend one goes as early as possible to get a better seat and take the tube down to the main station if possible. Cheers!
When we were on the first bus of the day, it was great. But any bus after noon (two days in a row during Fall term break), the buses were very overcrowded. We saw two of the competitor bus lines for every BigBus that came through. We also spent over ten minutes waiting at one stop when the bus driver had to explain how everything worked and accept payment from someone at one of the stops (because BigBus did not have a representative waiting outside). Other than that, the buses were clean and the "half open" upper deck was great. The canned music was way too repetitive.
Part of my ride I had the recorded explanation and another time there was a guide. There is no comparison. The guide was excellent. I am sorry that I don't know his name in order to thank him here. I enjoyed the bus and the boat ride very much.
The tour of the city with big bus is definitely an experience to do. Kind staff. It was a mess because of the rain and some unknown reason we were blocked in traffic for a long time! So we could not complete the tour and go with the boat.
The ticket for 48 hours is truly the best thing you could provide for your custumors! It is the perfect oportunity to discover London from its streets and learning new facts about its history and present.
We never had to wait long for the next bus to bring us to the most beautiful and interesting places in London. We also enjoyed the ride over the Themse very much and would recommend it to erveryone we know!
It was a wonderful experience using Big Bus tours. On time, neat & clean, very good commentary all along both through head phones & manually. Very helpful staff guiding whenever required. One suggestion is, it was felt that Red bus frequency is too good but Blue bus frequency needs improvement.
After using the Big Bus in Dubai we had no trouble deciding to use it in London. The whole experience is fantastic. Great prices, brillian service and all the staff are so helpful, friendly and happy. I cant wait to use Big Bus again, hopefully New York next. Keep up the good work.
We had a late afternoon free in London and thought this bus tour would be a great way to show our 5 year old the city. It was a bad experience and we would not do it again. There were not enough buses running the day we took our tour. We were crowded onto a packed bus. Luckily we had a seat because the aisle was completely full of people standing. At every stop a long queue of people were waiting to board our bus and tried to wedge onto an already full bus. These people appeared to have been waiting for ages for a bus only to find the one finally approaching was full. This ruined the viewing experience. You can imagine the negativity and stress of people in this environment. You could not hop on and off or go upstairs for fear you would never get on another bus or get another seat. We were wedged into the back of the bus. Our child could not see and was very upset she could not go up to the top of the bus. The most disturbing part of the experience was that people could not get safely off the bus. We had to physically push our way past the standing crowd to get off. It was not safe for a child. This was a very expensive mistake. You would have a better experience on a city bus and see just as much. I was extremely disappointed with my experience and would not recommend Big Bus Tours.
Estamos encantados con el servicio del Bigbus, la frecuencia es muy buena y el trato tanto de los conductores como del personal en las paradas fue muy bueno, aunque lo único a mejorar sería que el servicio acaba muy pronto (17 h).
We enjoyed the Big Bus Tour despite the rain coming on half way through! It was good to see all the famous landmarks and to be given information and hstorical information at the same time.
Booked the 2 day tour and was very happy with everything. The staff were very helpful even though we booked on the net and were not interested in purchasing extras. The river cruise was a nice bonus. We had 2 different guides during our 2 days and both were very entertaining. I would have given 5 stars but for the fact that before i booked the tickets i twice e-mailed customer services with a simple question but have never received a replay.
A great day spent in London. We started at about 10:30am on the blue tour using the headsets which gave us lots of information. We got off & on all day moving over to the red tour with the guide on board and even squeezed in a river cruise at 5pm. Hopped on one of the last buses at about 6:30pm back to a station to catch the train home. I was surprised at how mush we saw. I thought we would be on our was home by 4pm so we really got our moneys worth. We really enjoyed it.
I must point out that generally I had a good experience using the big bus, yet I do have some complains.
With regards to the walking tours, I was very much disappointed. The first one that I attended was the ghost of London, I must point out that the guide gave the impression that he was either too tired or drunk. The second walking tour that I tried to attend was the one related to the changing of the guards, but as soon as I went for this tour I was informed by the guide that he was going to chancel the tour since on this day there was not going to be any changing of the guards.
Es lo mejor para visitar Londres en 2-3 dias, muy bien organizado, gente disponible en casi todas las paradas, se identifican perfectamente las paradas con el mapa. Perfecta la empresa y el precio, recorre todo el centro
I organised a trip to london for 2 friends and our daughters. Being a regular visitor to london and a big fan of your bus tours i suggested we pre book our tickets for the 9 nov and i planned an action packed day arriving in london kings cross at 10, bus to covent garden for 2 hours, back on the bus through the city to see where site of the fire of london ( school project) and onto the tower before taking the river cruise back to big ben. Onwards to regent street for shopping & dinner. On arrival at kings cross i was abruptly told some stops were closed , and that the bus would only take us to baker street. At this point i should have been handed a revised map with the revised routes available. From baker street we took a further bus to trafalgar square and walked to covent garden, by this time we had lost 2 hours so the time available was cut short as we then ad to walk to big ben to board the river cruise which we found we had to take both ways due to road closures. Back at big ben we were sent to 3 different BBT stops to find one that would get us somewhere near regent street ( a lengthy walk through piccadilly due to regent street closures). We eventually arrived just in time for our table booked for 5pm. I absolutley appreciate you have no control over road losures but. I Had pre booked a ticket for the 9th by e mail so i think it would be a far better customer experience if you could email to advise of such significant disruption , had you done this i would have totally reworked our agenda and focused our trip around the areas not affected. In the past i have always had high praise for your staff and company but feel this could have been handled a lot better.
From start to finish the Bigbustours made our first family visit to London a very memorable and enjoyable trip . One which will be hard to beat and as a family we would have no reservations in recommending the company.
As a less abled traveller in a wheelchair along with my family I was unsure what to expect but after speaking to the lady when I booked she put me at ease and said it was very accessible, and how true. I was amazed at the ease to which we got on the bus with the ramp and the bus driver and the tour guide were truly fabulous, they were friendly and helpful and the tour was very informative and entertaining. The added bonus for us was the included in the price boat trip along the Thames and the three free guided walks, such amazing value for money I would recommend to everyone.
I like the idea of being dropped off at certain points of interest and being picked up again. If you chose to, you could get on the bus at a different pick up area. Very convenient and easy to use. The drivers were all so friendly and helpful. Great drivers.
It was the best tour bus I have ever been on I was with my grand-daughter and it really was the best our tour guide was so good and so friendly really sorry cant recall his name
but he was from Somerset. We also did the boat trip that was included in the price it was the best value we have had anywhere.
