From start to finish the Bigbustours made our first family visit to London a very memorable and enjoyable trip . One which will be hard to beat and as a family we would have no reservations in recommending the company.
As a less abled traveller in a wheelchair along with my family I was unsure what to expect but after speaking to the lady when I booked she put me at ease and said it was very accessible, and how true. I was amazed at the ease to which we got on the bus with the ramp and the bus driver and the tour guide were truly fabulous, they were friendly and helpful and the tour was very informative and entertaining. The added bonus for us was the included in the price boat trip along the Thames and the three free guided walks, such amazing value for money I would recommend to everyone.
I like the idea of being dropped off at certain points of interest and being picked up again. If you chose to, you could get on the bus at a different pick up area. Very convenient and easy to use. The drivers were all so friendly and helpful. Great drivers.
It was the best tour bus I have ever been on I was with my grand-daughter and it really was the best our tour guide was so good and so friendly really sorry cant recall his name
but he was from Somerset. We also did the boat trip that was included in the price it was the best value we have had anywhere.
I tried your tours both in Abu Dhabi and Dubai together with my wife.
I had limited time and could not find any other option to compare. I regret to say I did not satisfy and I do not recommend my friends to get.
1. Abu Dhabi Tour;
a. the buses were driven very fast. It was like a coach of intercity instead of "sightseeing".
b. Informations sometimes were not matching with the location. Lifestyle, religion info repeated n times and we all memorized. However, more info can be given between the sightseen info instead of that repetition.
c. The duration is also short as 09.00 AM to 05-06.00 PM. The weather conditions is good and you are stating that it is for "24 hours".
2. Dubai Tour;
a. Headphone jacks were not working properly and many had to share one piece of the headphone at least 2 different busses.
b. the buses were driven very fast. It was like a coach of intercity instead of "sightseeing". Informations sometimes were not matching with the location.
c. The busesse were not on time. We waited for about half an hour to get the other bus even we were on time.
d. Informations sometimes were not matching with the location. Lifestyle, religion info repeated n times and we all memorized. However, more info can be given between the sightseen info instead of that repetition.
Outstanding way to see the city...The guides were uniquely different and their approach which adds to the flavor and taste of the city.
I 'm from NYC ~so very critical. I thought the entire layout of the tours was right on the mark for what was expected and needed. Very nice experience.
Only 2 suggestions. In bad weather it's hard to hear the guide on the top level. Perhaps adding a couple of complementary permanently fixed speakers in the back of the bus.
Secondly,The last tour schedules and stops seemed to be a bit confusing...
I used to live in Kent and had been to London many times. We have moved away and decided to visit for a few days. I thought sight seeing tours were for OAPs but boy was I wrong! The service was ecxellent from the time we got on at our first stop. We got on and off at our convenience and saw more of London than we ever would by tube/ foot or taxi. I would highly recommend taking the BIG BUS
the tour started on a very good note in Victoria station with a very friendly, informative, welcoming rep.
the route very good covers the essentials.
audio guide very useful, interesting.
the tour is advertised as 'one day' or '24 hours', well is not so is actually about 9 hours(allot lower than 24).
after a shower or a bit of rain a rep could quickly wipe the seats on the upper deck avoiding people making a mess with tissues left on the floor.
very expensive for what you actually get in return, well too expensive.
we got the 48 hr pass for £27 each and it was the best £27 we spent whilst in London the buses went to most of the sights you need to see whilst you are there with the option of getting off looking round and getting on another bus when you are ready to carry on sightseeing. I also have to mention the staff all were very helpful when information was required. on the whole very impressed
Excellant tour, very informative but the best part was the hospitality of the tour guides and bus drivers who made sure you got near to where you were staying in the evening once the last bus tour had finish. The last tour of the day terminates at Marbel Arch (miles away from our hotel) the driver then took us to Green Park and showed us the way bk to our hotel. They went above and beyond.
Couldn't have asked for anything better. Great friendly staff and made our London trip very enjoyable
A BiG Thank You
Les bus étaient assez fréquents, pas trop de temps à attendre. L'idéal serait que les bus roulent aussi le soir, mais le prix du ticket serait évidemment plus cher, Donc ne changez rien !
The buses were clean and well driven. The costs were very reasonable particularly as we had the offer of a second complimentary day. We used the buses only on the first day and then the boat trip and bus the second day. The routes covered all the major sights you need to visit though the routes only followed the circuit in one direction and if the place you want to go is in the wrong direction it takes too long to do the whole route to reach your destination and with the amount of traffic in London, at times we were at a standstill. Planning in advance is essential but difficult to download a large enough map to do that before boarding the bus off the first time. I have saved my map so when we use the buses next time I will be well prepared! I will certainly book again.
We were in London Oct 4 - 6 and chose Big Bus Tours primarily because they picked up from Kings Cross rail station and brought us to London. We were Very PLeasantly surprised by the friendly and knowledgeable staff. We were shuttled around so we didn't have to rely on other transportation during the day and we did the Changing of the Guard and Harry Potter walking tours. Our Guide was SUPER informative and gave us added insight into the tours that we could not have gotten from books.
Truly and enjoyable experience!
Had a brilliant day jumping on and off the bus, seeing all the great sights of London.
Made it so much easier than organising it myself. The map made it easy to see where we wanted to go and helped us decide what we wanted to jump off and see, or stay on and enjoy the views from the bus.
The man commentating on the bus sounded like Michael Cain which only made the trip more interesting. He knew alot of facts about London and its history, which we really enjoyed.
We jumped off and looked round the Tower of London, which was facinating. Afterwards we got the boat back, down the Thames to Westminster. The guy on the boat talking, was Excellent, he made the trip. He talked non stop for 20 minutes and had everyone on the boat in stitches, but also knew alot about London, He was very funny. Would highly recommend the boat trip.
The weather was not great, but it didn't matter as it is all part of being in London.
Would highly recommend this to all my friends and family.
We were very satisfied with the bus tour and the possibility to use a ticket on two days. Sometimes - especially when we had to wait for the next bus - it seemed, that there a more buses from the "original tour busses", so we were not sure, if we had chosen the right company. But overall, we saw a lot and made a lot of stops. At Westminster Abbey we did not find a time-table for the ship; we missed one and thought (due to the folder) we had to wait for 35 minutes and went on our way by foot. But on the bridge we saw the next ship already but then decided not to go back.
As we bought our family ticket in October we got two days for the price of one, plus the river cruise included, so this made the expense more worthwhile. However I would definitely not recommend this tour in the summer months. I have been on many similar tours in other cities and this was by far the most disappointing. The river cruise was definitely the best part - excellent commentary by a crew member, relaxing and informative. The buses however were a let down - taped commentary which was out of time for some sights. Extremely slow due to the London traffic. We were diverted twice so had to go on routes with nothing of interest. We finally gave up, got off the bus and got the tube to places of interest instead. Very expensive for a family of four so not worth the money. I would not recommend this tour to my friends.
We brought our French friends for a day out in London and stayed on the bus for almost the whole tour, getting on near Buckingham Palace and off at Tower Bridge. The boat ride was a bonus as I have never actually been on the River Thames in London before. The crew on the boat were excellent although our French friends did not understand the comentary (we don't when we go to France) I was in fact good value and I have already recommended it to my Friends. My only moan was the long time we had to spend waiting outside Sherlock Holmes' house for no apparent reason, around 1/2 hour. Hope this helps. Joy England and friends.
Me and my Family really enjoyed the London tour with Big Bus Tours.
It was a very thorough tour by the point of view of interest points covered and the quantity and locations of the Hop-On / Hop-Off stops were excelente.
We visited London for a weekend in November - it was our children's first visit. We booked a 48 hour ticket on the buy 24hrs get the next 24 hrs free offer.
During the two days we hopped on and off the buses several times to see the sights. When on the bus, we enjoyed the commentary which was informative and well delivered. The staff at the stops were, without exception, very friendly and helpful (especially the lady at the London Eye stop who rescued us from the "rucksack left on the bus panic" by contacting the next stop, having it found and taken into their care for us to collect bu hopping on the next bus!!).
The buses were frequent, clean and comfortable. Warm clothes required to sit up top but there was room on most for you to sit downstairs if you wanted to be inside.
We would definately recommend this as a good way to see and learn lots about London if you visit.
Enjoyed the tour a lot except a t the end of the day in Kensington. We asked when the last bus would be through and were told by the bus stop employee (at the stop before Kensington Palace) that it would be 5pm. We waited with others from 4:40pm and nothing came by. At 5:30 we knew nothing would be coming so we gave up. This was disappointing. It would be good to have the bus times at the stop also.
