We have stayed at Ocean Views, Portland three times now. The apartments are lovely and the area is very peaceful and quiet. However, the leisure centre is a disappointment. The first time we stayed there it was fine but the second time the hot tub was out of action. On being advised that it had been repaired we booked for a third visit. However, the sensor on the hot tub did not work and we had to press it to get it to operate. Only half the jets worked and then cut out after a short while and we could only stay in for about five minutes as the water was tepid. Unlikely to book again as a result which is a pity as it is a real out of the way place, which we like.
We stayed here to do a course at the UKSA, it was luxury compared to the on site accommodation and cost the same! Very pleased and had a great 5 days stay.
I would absolutely recommend little gem to friends and family. I'm already planning my next stay. It Is situated in a lovely gated mews and everything is provided in this clean, cosy and comfortable property. It is also very close to beach, shops etc and a great base to explore the Jurassic coast.
We stayed 3 nights at Ocean View, Portland and it was a spotlessly clean and well appointed apartment with great views over Weymouth Bay and the National Sailing Academy which was the reason for our stay. Great communications from Blue Chip means I would stay here again and also look at their properties in other resorts in future. The only slight disappointment at Ocean View is the communal leisure centre for all residents which is not very clean or well maintained but this is not managed by Blue Chip.
I made a terrible mistake by booking the wrong month online. Dawn was absolutely fabulous she spent some time on rearranging our stay and transferring our booking and first payment to the correct dates.
We have yet to stay in the property so I cant comment on that side of the booking but so far 5 stars out of 5. Well done!!
Dissapointed to learn from a previous review that the cottage we had booked didn't have up to date gas and electrical safety certificates. We are waiting on confirmation these are now in place.
Excellent service,start to finish. Will happily use Blue Chip again.
Our apartment in Royal William Yard was stunning, the area is a wonderful conversion and we took advantage of the extremely convieniant ferry to the Barbican.
The second bedroom door didn't close properly and the tv didn't function correctly (manual would sort this?) Good location for us as 6 adults shared but would have liked to know that the house was next to the public toilets.
Had a great time and would use the house again if we stayed in Weymouth, great manager would helped us with issues.
The booking was going very well - I was delighted with the property and its' location. I the extra £25 for taking our 'boy' - and then waited. Eventually we had an email asking for the breed of dog - surely a dog is a dog! The email also said that someone had been trying to contact me on my home phone despite the fact that I had told Blue Chip that we were actually, at the time of booking, in the South of France! Someone was not reading the emails!
Eventually the problem of our dog was resolved but as far I am concerned it was a waste of time - and meant an expensive phone call for us!
Great communication and accurate description of rental property. Everything was as nice as, or better than, it was described. A 100% positive experience. Would recommend unequivocally. Booked from the US and had prompt helpful service, from the very first.
A very comfortable, well-appointed cottage which has been sensitively updated but retained its original character amd charm.
The level pf equipment was high and of excellent quality which was particularly important to us as we are keen amateur chefs.
Downside? Very isolated situation with poor access road. No signal for mobile phone, although land line available.
Annoying to find that it was necessary to clean out the last users ash from the wood-burning stove before it could be used again
Notwithstanding, this was a thoroughly enjoyable experience amd good value for money.
we have found a lovely place on Kingswear through blue chip holidays. The website was easy to follow and there was lots of info about the house and surrounding area. Booking was very straight forward. Cant wait to go!.
We arrived having received an e mail giving us codes to enter the gate to obtain keys. It was dark and trying to see the key pads was difficult. We entered the garage using the code provided but could not find the parking place for the flat we had booked. We telephoned the property manager who informed us that underground parking was not included in the booking, as we had been sent the garage door code we were surprised to hear this. A telephone call to blue chip by the property manager revealed the incorrect e mail had been sent. Blue chip arranged for a parking place to be made available and an apology recieved.
The flat was clean and functional but we did feel it lacked personality. We presume that this property is new to Blue chip and is awaiting the finishing touches.

the building..the flat...its dirty condition...the lack of towels...poor staff response..5 calls to get sufficient towels...no mobile phone access in flat..general not interested attitude

The whole experience was a joy. The website enable us to easily select the required area and criteria required. I must say the selection of pet friendly accommodation was of a very high standard, no doubt the customer base are types that respect these properties. I will also add that the accommodation we chose was even better than the photographs, with amazing views. The little details, cookies, nice filter coffee etc. all made the arrival even more enjoyable. This is undoubtedly one of the nicest apartments we have stayed in, with top class furnishings and finishes to the building. The local property manager was extremely helpful, and communications to the booking department had a very personal feel. Thank you so much Blue Chip, "we'll be back" :)

The best things about our accommodation in Torquay was not only the flat but also the views. From the living room and bedroom the views over the whole of Torbay area are fantastic whether it is in the rain or sunshine. I will recommend Blue Chip Holidays to all my friends and certainly use them in the future.

The apartment was great. Smart, clean, modern, functional with an awesome view of the Atlantic breakers. We all loved it.
Whilst I appreciate that some customers might not respect a place they stay in, the assumption should be that those paying for high end of market accommodation should be treated as grown ups who are likely to treat the place with due respect & consideration.
Being given a folder full of 'rules/orders' doesn't give that impression of mutual trust.
Equally, if you say you're 'dog friendly', know what that means to a pet owner! Our dog is part of the family. Period. Being given the additional dogs 'rules/orders', gave the impression that dogs were tolerated, vice welcome. Change this and you've got a winning formula.
Confirmation of booking and instructions very clear and efficient. In terms of the actual property, although the appartments was lovely but the beds were horrible. The mattresses on the beds were hard as rock and so uncomfortable that I would not book this appt again only for that reason. It let the appt down on just that 1 point but you need a good nights sleep on holiday and we did not sleep all week. There was also no instructions in the appt on how to operate anything, but we managed ok and our contact Andy Wier was very pleasant and helpful and told us what we wanted to know.
Very late availibility booking, only 2 Days before. Very helpful and efficient through email, booked at midnight response by first thing in the morning. No hassle easy site to book through. Very pleased with property and would use the site again.
Being my first holiday in the South West, I was quite skeptical about the whole experience. However, after seeing the range and standard of accommodation on offer from Blue Chip, I could hardly wait to go. Unfortunately, when we turned up at our apartment in Torquay, the owner had forgotten to leave the key for us and all attempts to make contact had failed. It was now late Friday evening and the Blue Chip staff were getting ready to leave office, but due to their uncompromising commitment to service and customer satisfaction, they continued working into the night until a suitable alternative accommodation was found. As it turned out, it was much better than our original accomodation and was supplied to us at no extra cost. We had the most fantastic holiday and can't wait to return. Thanks Blue Chip!!
The flat was really nice thought here was a damp patch in the hallway. The downstairs entrance was left with stale bins from the next door shop.
We booked the flat as it was advertised as having a garage. In reality, the person renting the flat above parked his car there and left he remainder impossible to access. We had to find street arming and car parks which was costly and inconvenient.
once again our booking with blue chip was superb from start to finish, very helpful and friendly staff, we always look at bluechip to book through before any other . quite simply because the properties they have on the books and the customer service is first class.

We have just booked our second holiday with Blue Chip and cannot fault the company at all. Easy booking and search facility and good level of detail is available on each if their properties. Postcode for our apartment was not that accurate but maybe the owner's fault.
Chisel barn was spotlessly clean, easy to relax in and chill out. The barn was very well equipped, all the furnishings were lovely and great for walking.
