You'd Better Hope There's Nothing Wrong with the Product!!!

I bought a Hoover HFI303D/E-80 dishwasher last November. Right from the start it failed to work properly in that it didn't wash food residue off dishes (pretty much the basic requirement of a dishwasher). Almost all dishes, mugs, glasses and cutlery needed to be re-washed by hand. An engineer visit made no difference. Boots Appliances have so far refused to refund me for the defective dishwasher (which they are obliged to do by law under the Sale of Goods Act 1979) - you have been warned!!

I'm really sorry to hear about the trouble you're having, we always do our very best to help you and to disappoint isn't our intention at all.

I can see that we've had engineers out the appliance and there was no fault found, however your large plates were blocking the spray arm, so the engineer adjusted the baskets for you.

If you like, I can arrange another engineer visit for you, but we wouldn't be able to exchange the appliance when there's no fault found by the engineer. If you're convinced that there's a fault but you don't have trust in the Hoover engineer, you can arrange for an independent engineer to look at your appliance and send us the report.

Once we have the report for this we can look at different options for you, however if you don't want to arrange this then we can only go off what the Hoover engineer states I'm afraid.

We don't want to leave without a working appliance or even an appliance that isn't working to its specification, however we do trust the engineers.

Please let me know how you'd like to proceed and I'll be happy to assist you accordingly.

Brilliant Next Day Service

The old fridge/freezer went wrong on Friday but with the help of Boots excellent next day service we had a new one up and running less than 24 hours later! The confirmation text & email came through as promised to give us a 4 hour delivery slot, but we were also able to speak to the driver on the day to get a more specific time and all arrived as promised - brilliant. Everyone we spoke to was charming and extremely helpful so would thoroughly recommend Boots to anyone.

Good for appliances but nightmare in other ways

I found the website great, with good variety of products. having bought tons of appliances for the new kitchen, I received the call from someone extremely smarmy asking me about my day, about the property etc...only to find out it was an insurance salesman 10 minutes later. He presented the cover as something you get for free (such as an extended cover John Lewis offers) but then it transpired that you have to pay for it. When I said I was not interested, he proceeded to be aggressive and say I will not be covered after a year if the appliances break down. He got even more annoyed when I told him that a consumer act covers me after that if the appliance is not fit for purpose. I eventually put the phone down.

Boots is a good company, but they shirked my complaint when I emailed them about it. What I have a problem with is that, as a researcher looking into scams, someone who is not very savvy or an elderly person who is not cognitively able to process information quickly, might have bought this insurance unwittingly not quite understanding what was covered and what they were buying, due to the non ethical way the salesman presented it. Also, when I asked if I could read terms and conditions before I decide, he told me that I can't. And boots customer service emailed me back apologising but firmly stating this was good practice.

Sooo, let me get this straight, I will be entering into contract with Boots but I am not allowed to know what the terms and conditions are before I enter into that contract.
Yes, that sounds ethical, right?

Brilliant service saved the day

My freezer started playing up and I had just put in my turkey and beef for Christmas. Started panicking couldn't find someone to deliver quick so we didn't loose all the food. Went onto Boots site who guaranteed next day delivery. Ordered at 10 pm on the Monday night they sent me an email straight away with all information, rang me at 7 am Tuesday tto give me a window of delivery 7 - 11 am, rang at 7.30 to say they would be there around 8 . Freezer arrived at 7.45 am. Delivery men were nice and helpful. Company rang me later on in morning to see if everything was ok. We are so pleased with service, can't get over how quick it all happened, didn't need to throw anything out thanks to freezer coming. Brilliant would always recommend

Best customer service I've seen for a long time

I've bought quite a few items off Boots recently as I'm a developer. Their order process, back office staff and delivery drivers are all friendly, helpful and actually want to give you a great service.

As an example I ordered the wrong oven (completely my fault) and completely unpacked it before finding it didn't fit. Thinking there's no way they will take this back now, I rang more in hope than expectation. But wow - they delivered the right model two days later, took the wrong one away and didn't even charge me a penny for re-delivery!! Keep it up - your efforts don't go unrecognised.

REALLY PLEASED WITH CUSTOMER SERVICE...

My cooker failed the latest inspection unfortunately, so I was desperate to get a new one A.S.A.P. as the gas man disconnected my old one, I found one on argos, and wasn't sure on delivery as all I was told was youll get a call in a few days time, I foned argos after 3 days to tell them I had no phonecall on the delivery, they said they were particularly busy,so I decided to cancel the order and order with boots im so glad I did!!!!
customer service was excellent i made my order at about 3pm, and had it delivered the next day, not only that but they ring on the morning and text you to tell you when to expect them,so your not hanging around all day long, would definatley recommend this company.

Did exactly what they said they'd do!

I don't write a lot of reviews and of the few I do write even less are positive. The main reason for this is because the world seems to think that a company that delivers the correct item when they say they are going to deserves a 5 star rating! What a world we live in when we think someone doing what you have paid them to do deserves an extra reward....

Anyway on this occasion I feel compelled to write a review mainly because of the ridiculous situation with reviews on the net.

I was looking to buy a fridge freezer. I narrowed it down to the make and model and set about choosing a supplier. Obviously I came on here. What was strange was that every company who stocked the fridge freezer (the vast majority of which I had never heard of) had 10,000 plus 5 star reviews. Some companies were getting FIFTY five star reviews per day!!!! Quite astonishing.

So then I checked Boots. A household name and ...... 14 reviews. Yep just 14. 12 were 5 star, one 4 star and one 2 star I think - Average score 6.4/10 - Weird I thought.

So I actually paid £3 more (Total cost £452) to buy it from Boots where I knew the reviews were genuine than from a company that had bulk bought 10,000 fake reviews.

Weird thing is I actually went for the lowest score with a higher price.

Anyway Boots delivered exactly when they said they would and the 2 guys who delivered went out of their way to help my elderly mother (I was out) get the appliance in position. More of a task than it seemed as it wouldn't go in the door that I had removed the old one from.

Overall excellent and thank you Boots for not succumbing to the immoral, misleading trait of buying reviews!

Nightmare if you live in Northern Ireland

Was told on phone when placing my order for washing machine that delivery would be Friday.
Got an email to confirm delivery would be Friday too and they would either text or phone on that day to confirm time.

NO - that means it arrives in northern ireland on friday. I phone the courier in northern ireland and they can only deliver to my area next Wednesday!

Cannot fault

I cannot fault this company, ordered a fridge one day and delivered the next. Website was really easy to use with reviews and lots of internal and external photos of the appliances. Delivery was really easy to arrange. The company's customer service from beginning to end was five star. They emailed me, rang me the day before to give me a 4 hour time slot for delivery and the delivery men were pleasant and helpful. The fridge was well wrapped and every single tray and shelf had been taped so as not to break during delivery. I am very impressed and with service like this will definitely be buying all my future appliances from Boots, just wish I had found out that they sell domestic appliances sooner!

This is a natural progression for Boots who have always sold kitchen gadgets, pots pans etc in larger stores. The website is well laid out and visually clear and crisp. The goods on offer carry an ample description and if you need further info you can email them.

Good Site

I'm not sure how much boots actually have to do with the running of this site. I think it's just a branded up version of some other electrical retailer. None the less you get advantage points, the delivery service is good and the prices are competitive.

Fantastic Service

I could not believe it when my Dad told me he ordered an oven with Boots.....but he was very impressed with his service he received.

So when I recently moved into my new house, I when strait on their website to have a look for my new oven and fridge freezer.

They were alot cheaper than everywhere else I checked, and I received delivery within a couple of day.

Two guys turned up to delivery, put the items in place exactly where I wanted them to go, unpackaged them for me and took the rubbish with them.

Very pleased overall,

Will be using them again if I need anything kitchen appliances.

Excellent service

I bought an american style fridge freezer, built in oven and cooker hood and saved a huge amount of money as well as getting around £50 in advantage points. I was pleasantly suprised that only one delivery charge applied to the order. The goods were delivered on the agreed day and I received a message half an hour before they arrived which was helpful.I have been really pleased with all the appliances and I would definately recommend this company. However if I had read some of the reviews before I bought I might have been put off - take no notice!

Absolutely superb service

Bought a Bosch Dishwasher from here after having a really really poor experience with another e-retailer.

Boots were top drawer from the off - excellent website (actually seems to be a standard design across a lot of other major name retailers, cetainly in respect to picking delivery dates etc...)

The price was highly competetive, got advantage card points (well haven't got them yet - but they say it takes some time... will have to keep an eye in it), and they were also signed up to the Bosch cashback scheme too.

Delivery (By "Expert" deliveries), was incredible - received an call the night before telling me my allocated 'slot', then a text, then a call from the chaps themselves telling me exactly when they would turn up.

When they did, they were careful, gave me excellent opportunity to inspect the goods. Unfortunately they were unable to perform connection as they needed an adapter (neither theirs, nor my fault), but I got my connection charge refunded straight away by calling the helpdesk.

All in all, I have no reservations at all recommending Boots Kitchen Appliances, and would give them a strong 5*/5*

Excellent customer service

I ordered a freezer from Boots Kitchen Appliances that turned out to have been discontinued. A customer service advisor let me know immediately and sourced an alternative based on my exact requirements. The alternative model was more expensive by about £40, but I did not have to pay the difference due to the "inconvenience" caused. I was given good notice of a four-hour time slot within which the appliance would be delivered (text, phone call and another call from the driver half an hour before). The couriers unpacked everything and asked me to check it before I signed for it - very different from a recent experience with another firm that only provided doorstep delivery and did not offer to unpack, or encourage me to check the item before signing for it. Very pleased with the item, the price and the communication throughout.
