We booked BA for our honeymoon to Tuscany September 2011, for BA we had to travel from Gatwick rather than our nearby Stansted - but we thought the service and flight would exceed that of a low cost carrier at Stansted.
We were wrong, we excidetly turned up to check in - a very grump lady said "everyone say's they're on honeymoon just to get an upgrade - we don't do that" - oh we thought, not even a congratulations? Wecloming customer service nil point. We were excited - we'd just got married the day before!
So we continue on to the flight, and is it my imagination or is there no leg room and is everything in the aircraft a bit tired?!? We arrive at our destination.
The return is where it really took a turn for the worse, we were bumped onto a substitute low cost carrier (for the same price as our BA flights!!!!) served cheap nasty orange juice and the worst nuts I've ever tasted.
Perhaps it's my fault, I really expected better - I'd always put BA in a difference league but they are now obviously positioning themselves as a low cost, no frills carrier.
We've just booked a Villa in Tuscany again this summer, but we're saving our money on flights, and travelling with a low cost carrier. and Budapest for our Anniversary - we'll it won't be BA!
