I knew that Sky was slow but I didn't realise how slow.... Great test - made me far more aware of what I am actually paying for!
I would like congratulate Broadband Choices for allowing me use the tester to investigate whether i really am getting the upload and Download speed that my provider has agreed to in the Contract.
THANKS AGAIN
I always seem to get a consistent result with this site, easy clear to understand
Keep up the good work helping us to get these companies to give us the speeds we are overpaying for.
Shows Virgin is fast, but not quite the speed advertised - like most companies.
This is a great speed checker for your broadband, & I must say, its very accurate. I would recommend this company to anyone, as they have some great deals on, if you are thinking of changing your supplier. I recently used this company for myself & for my father also, & I nearly halved my fathers telephone bill, he's very happy. I also used it for myself & I got a lot better deal from Plusnet & by far faster broadband also. Great company & very reliable. I've told my friends about it, so come on everybody, get yourselves a better deal & save money into the bargain.
Just needed to check our broadband speed, quick easy to read layout, no hassles
i have been in shock at the speed of my broadband and will let all my friends know about this great service
I found the Trust Pilot Broadband Speed Tester the easiest, and most efficient tester that I have used.
I am now using this tester instead of the others.
Really pleased to have found this site - useful to check what my provider is telling me I can get.
For the last few days your Speed Tester has become invaluable. For example today alone I have gone from 18mbps this morning to 0.7mbps with a few cut outs just now. This has only started happening recently and is driving me mad especially when I have 5 bars and the message of excellent signal strength!! At least I can keep a record thanks to you. Tomorrow I change provider so wish me luck. I will be back to use it again.
A download of 1.8MB and upload of 0.36 is as poor as I thought it might be, when will it ever improve
Raojibhai Raojibhai Patel found this review useful
That is truly worthwhile especially when somebody says you can have upto 14 what
correct 100% of the time ive checked with my broadband provider and it confirms this in a nutshell
This site has always been my " go to" site for fair, unbiased, and honest speed test, reviews and up to the minute information.
I would recommend Broadband Choices to anyone
I wanted to find out what performance I am currently geting because I am ni the process of changing (forced by Orange withdrawing the package I had signed uo to with a second line).
I hope (and anticipate based upon what i HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT MY PERFORMANCE SHOULD IMPROVE.
Grab the download its great easy to use, when you got slow internet it will let you know if you provider is slowin you down tho its supposed to be unlimited, only thing wrong with it you only get 30days which is a pity as its been easy lettin me no when to phone talktalk an give em a talkin too
I regularly use another site to test download performance and am also part of an EU testing panel and the results from this site were well down on what other sites report. (including one taken immediately after this sites test). This may be down to the server response time. I usually get a 10 to 11 ms response this tests server was 116 ms.
Gave accurate readings.Valuable advice regarding how to attempt tp speed up internet connection.
If you want to test what spped you are getting or want to change supplier look here.
I'm severely visually impared (legally blind) and in a wheelchair. I found the site easy to navigate and the selection for my area was excellent. I'll definitely use it when it comes time to renew next year.

I had just used BT's own speed tester (and did not trust it). I then used this one and the results were virtually identical, good product.
I run regular speed tests on a bunch of services. This one is much like all the others. Except when it takes time to load. (Like today.) No better, no worse.
Never rely on a single source for this sort of data.
Just tried broadbandchoices, did a broadband speed test and found out all I needed to know. Great !!
Plusnet tell me that my speeds are between 17 & 21 thingies.
Today (Sunday 10th Feb 2013) this site says 12.5
However I am looking forward to testing again tomorrow as an earlier blogger wrote - he found it much better on a working day (is it possible)
But its ALL a lot better than the 6 thingies I used to get with XLN
HOWEVER
My Upload speed has never realy varied from about 3.5, whoever the supplier is/was
VERY GOOD AND USEFULL SHOWS CHARTS EASY AND SIMPLE WOULD USE AGAIN AND RECOMMEND
Over 3 days I have tested 4 different online broadband speed checkers, each within a few minutes of each other. The results are so far apart its unbelievable, literally. One site gives me consistant results around the 15mb mark whilst another gives me equally consistant results around the 38mb mark. Who to believe? Makes you wonder if the sites giving the lower speeds are just interested in getting you to switch. Is there a true and accuraye site out there?
I am with Talk Talk. And my download speeds ARE RUBBISH,,,,,,,I have been checking ALL WEEK and all I have been getting is 0.89Mb / 1.15Mb.
I was woundering does any can help me get a better speed or how to change to a better provide as this one I have over 7yrs is letting down BIG TIME......
I kept checking talk talk and all I got was 2 to 2.5 so I wrongly thought that as the wires belonged to BT they would be faster, but after two months I find that BT is only half the speed, so yes It is very helpful
