I've been very happy with Bullionvault since I started using them 5 years ago. Deals get done as requested, commissions are reasonable, as are storage costs, and they are very quick to respond to queries and suggestions for improvement.

Apparently no liquidity in a crisis

BV offers a great solution for buying. Low charges, apparently secure and overall I have been very pleased with this. However, I have been less impressed with its service to sellers, given the closed nature of the system. In particular, I was very disappointed to see almost zero liquidity during the market turmoil earlier in the year. Total market depth seemed to be hundreds of grammes, not kilos, with spreads extending to several thousand pounds per kg. While clearly an exceptional day, one would expect BV as operators of the platform to provide better liquidity to the open market. This was not a problem on spread betting sites such as IG which are also closed systems. I understand that BV Is quite new and therefore likely to have some teething issues but I am quite disappointed not to have seen an explanation or announcement of a change forthcoming in the subsequent months.

We're sorry if you couldn't sell at the price you wanted during the mid-April crash. It was an exceptional event by any measure, and it affected all bullion markets, not just ours. In physical bullion there were no bids in size anywhere during the slump – the speed and violence of the drop showed that. Wholesale gold typically takes two days to settle, so the instant settlement on BullionVault's order board does require another user to match your order. But it's not a closed system. Because customers dealing whole bars can access the professional market directly with a telephone order (potentially arbitraging prices for all other users of the Order Board). Secondly, all customers can access wholesale liquidity themselves, on those same two-day terms, through the Daily Price function. This was launched at the start of April, before the price crash mid-month. It gives all users the ability to buy or sell at the 3pm London PM Fix price in gold.

So easy and quick to become a bullion investor from the comfort of your home

Discovered this site via a Google search after feeling uncomfortable with what other sites were offering. If you want a decent and fair deal with an easy to use idiotproof website I'd recommend them.
Very easy to set up an account and transfer funds.
Quick responses to email queries, all of which could have been answered if I'd looked closer at the FAQ which answers virtually everything one needs to know.

Sadly since the time of my opening my account I have never had the necessary funds to invest in gold and silver as I would have liked, and unfortunately your new Gold Saving plan came a little too late for my decision to close my account.

Everything is properly explained and it all works as stated.

Obviously it would be an improvement for any customer to have lower fees, but the fees here are not extra large and the whole service works as advertised. Can't really find fault at all.

Placing an order is simple using the order wizard, the interface is easy to use and information set out in a clear and concise manner. You can have your bullion stored in vaults in London, New York, Singapore or Zurich. Your holdings are audited daily and, most importantly, belong to you personally, unlike with many financial institutions who can do as they wish with the bullion that you have paid for!
All in all an excellent service and a great way to buy gold and silver.

Hey! I started with BullionVault not having had any previous experience with buying or selling Silver or Gold. BullionVault guide you through the trading every step of the way with online help and support and lucid and clear instructions. They are bona-fide and have offices all over the world and in London. I am so happy, my money is secure, my bullion is secure and even though I am a very small trader, an individual, they treat me as if I had millions, there are no pitfalls as they state clearly exactly what is happening and explain the risks etc, so you have a totally clear idea of what is happening! Simple risk free buying and selling of gold.

Bullionvault offers a means of buying or selling gold that allows the small investor to deal in small gram quantities or the wealthy investor to buy entire ingots.
The advantage Bullionvault has over banks is the gold is fully allocated to you: meaning you are fully entitled to that gold or part ingot, banks however use a system of sharing on the assumption that not everyone will want physical access at the same time. If there is a "run" on banks they do not have the resources to pay all depositors in full. People investing in gold as a store of value in a time of need will appreciate that if there is a future "run on gold" then the banks will not have sufficient gold reserves. In short banks cannot be entirely trusted when there is "financial meltdown". Bullionvault is designed to be secure so you can sleep knowing your bullion is always safe.

Bullion Vault -- Gold for ease, control and price

we've used gold money but bullion vault is better easier and cheaper (last time i checked) the features are clear and they respond to problems very quickly ...i know because i found an issue with ambiguous wording and the site was changed within a day or two ...i have spoken to people on the phone there as well and they were knowledgeable and helpful with the right dose of friendliness. unfortunately ive had to do mostly withdrawals since Im out of work for a spell but the process has been speedy and reliable. Apparently its good to own gold and this (apart from taking physical delivery) is the best and safest way to do it.

Convenient, cost-effective way to diversify

I first heard about BullionVault from an interview Chris Martenson conducted on a site that's now called PeakProsperity. The appeal of having allocated storage, a choice of storage sites, and low overhead costs makes BullionVault very appealing.

After some initial complications with linking my credit union account to my BV account, it is now very easy to electronically transfer funds - all without using a "wire transfer" with the associated fees. (I understand these fees will apply when I sell gold and withdraw funds to my credit union, which I have not yet done.)

Overall, I find BV to be a cost-effective and convenient way to gain exposure to gold - off-site to avoid the risk of theft from your home, and allocated with custody fees to avoid the risk of being unceremoniously MF Global'd.

Bullion Vault is straight forward, computer friendly and the wizard gives excellent advice.

Bullion Vault is a great way to invest especially when the economy is on the rebound. There are a variety of ways to invest and if you are not sure, Bullion Vault will assist you in investing with your best interest in mind. I have and will continue to share my experiences with Bullion Vault.

After researching the market to find a trustworthy professional bullion dealer, I was directed to BullionVault by several respected financial journalists. That was 7 years ago and I continue to sing their praises ever since. Excellent way to invest in gold for the long term safety

There are many ways to invest, or to trade in gold. Which one is right? It depends on what your purpose of investing or trading is. If you are a short term daytrader, you may prefer a forex broker. If you want to invest in gold just as a inflation hedge, but you are not concerned about financial system, political risk, counterparty risk, etc, you may choose ETFs. But if you want to treat this as a safe, long term, investment, or wealth protection, or even think of this as an insurance (because it may happen you will lose money investing gold, too), but some value it will store for sure, then I believe BullionVault, with outright ownership of a physical allocated gold in multiple safe locations, at a low cost .. is a great deal. I recommend.

Great service both online and by 'phone.

I started investing in gold (and later, silver) with BullionVault a few years ago; I found the site easy to navigate even for a 'beginner' such as myself. When I needed to communicate by 'phone I found the staff most helpful and accommodating - IIRC it was a Ms Catherine Little that I spoke with. My apologies if I've got the lady's name wrong but the sentiment stands: excellent service that I'm happy to recommend.

Super fast deposit, love the live order board!

I am from Singapore and absolutely love using them. Used DBS Internet Banking to wire money over and it appeared in my account the next day with an email notice to tell me that my account has been funded.

In fact DBS too sent an SMS to inform me that the money was wired successfully! I love the order board and used the live spot price chart(which BV provide as well) and compared that to the available orders. There is like a 1-2 minute lag before the order board price reflects the spot price and I factored that in to my order.

My first order funny enough was picked by BV's robot itself at a price lower than what the order board has. No complains there!

All in all highly recommended.

P.S. I only wish the wire costs and exchange rate can be better. BV is it possible to deposit in Singapore dollars in the future since there is already a vault you are operating in Singapore. :)

Simple and effective

I never thought I would own or trade in Gold until I joined BullionVault about four months ago. So far, I have no negative comments. Otherwise, trading in gold via BullionVault has been a very simple, effective and satisfying experience. Until I have been with BV a little longer I can only give 4 stars for now. If the service remains as good as it is now, I will give it 5 stars in about one years time.
