nice car and hassle free process at the airport. the ability to pay by cash is very handy for anyone without a credit card and the people at the airport desk ( lanzarote ) were very friendly and helpful.
Have used the same hiring company in lanzarote for years and never been disappointed. This year we had a brand new car with all the gadgets, very reasonable price, excellent on fuel and no fuss picking up or dropping off at airport. We will always use this company and will definitely recommend everyone to make the effort to log on to their website. So easy to book.
We booked with this company due to their other good reviews and the promise that all was included. I know from experience how the cheaper looking companies charge extra insurance and for petrol that soon hikes the cost up, so trusted this would be the case and booked it. Got there, car was ready, took about 5 mins to sign the paperwork and grab the keys then go to the car park and collect the car. Just return it with whatever petrol it has in it was the request, no selling to buy more, upgrade, pay for insurance was done brilliant, just pay the advertised cost and off you go. On return repark it back in same car park, drop keys off in box in airport and fly home. Easy, simple, no worries about excesses and lots of offices all over the place if you had an issue.
I have used Cabrera Medena car hire on several visits to Lanzarote. The pick up at Arrecife airport is always hassle free, no long queues, ensures you are on your way in no time. Cars are always clean and tidy and well presented, albeit some of the older ones can have the odd scratch or two. Remember that the roads consist of drivers of many nationalities, driving customs are somewhat different to say the least. Assume they will do odd things keep back and all will be well. On Lanzarote you also need to be mindful of unpredictable cyclists give plenty of room when overtaking as gusting winds can cause some wobbles! All the Cabrera team I have encountered in person or on the phone have been very helpful.

When we arrived at the airport deck there seemed to be a problem with the availability of cars. I was to find out later that the car I had been given had been sold.
Two days into my holiday they contacted me at at my hotel to say they had sold the car. They demanded that I take the car to the nearest Cabremedina office and exchange it for another. I took the car to the office in Playa Blanca next to the Iberostar Hotel. The office manager showed a complete lack of understanding coupled with a great deal of aggression . I requested to speak with his superior on the telephone. At first he refused.
But after a lengthy bad tempered discussion he allowed me to speak on the telephone.
It was then agreed with his superior that a car would be delivered at 6pm to my hotel.
This took half day of my holiday to sort out.
1 Why was I given a car that had already been sold?
2 If the car needed to be changed, why did they not arrange for one to be delivered to my hotel in the first place?
After using Cabremedina in Lanzarote for the past 8 years I have never experience such bad customer care!
I have used Cabrera Medina on many occasions in the past and have always been treated in a courteous manner.
This time I got the feeling that the guy in the airport office just couldn't be bothered.
The customary free map was not offered, the audio guide was not offered but there was a CD in the car. Shame it was in Spanish!
A casual visit to the office in Pocillos rescued the reputation of Cabrera Medina, the map was presented and also a booklet with discounted entry to some of the attractions of the island.
Booked on line a few months in advance. Company office in arrivals hall at Lanzarote airport. Car half full of petrol and we were to bring it back half full so no petrol rip off you get in some airports. Car spotlessly clean and in carpark opposite terminal. Performed well and returned to same car park and key to same office. Would definitely use them again.

GRAAG UW VERKLARING HIERVOOR, WANT IK VOEL MIJ NOG STEEDS ENIGSZINS IN DE BOOT GENOMEN, RESP. BENADEELD. Daar komt het volgende nog bij:
- Ik miste een instructieboekje, ben het gaan vragen bij een van uw vestigingen. Het antwoord was laconiek, dus onbevredigend: zeg maar wat u wilt weten; geen boekjes want die worden door de huurders toch maar gestolen!
- watertank voor sproeier op voorruit was volledig leeg. Werd in een van jullie garages bijgevuld.
- de auto was moeilijk in de eerste versnelling te krijgen.
Gezien deze ervaringen kreeg ik helaas niet echt vertrouwen in uw bedrijf. Toen ik dat zei, kreeg ik als antwoord, dat iedere auto bij aflevering goed wordt nagekeken. Toen ik dat betwijfelde, gezien bovengenoemde ervaringen, kreeg ik slechts als antwoord, dat er in alle drukte wel eens wat over het hoofd wordt gezien!! Nou ja.
Gelukkig is het met de auto in die week verder niet akelig uitgepakt, maar wij hebben beslist geen goede indruk gekregen van de klantvriendelijkheid van uw personeel én van de onderhoudskwaliteit van de auto. Heel jammer.
Bright green automatic Corsa which was prominent amongst the usual white hire cars and couldn't be lost in the crowd. Well turned out on collection and easy to drive.
The car we had was a Volvo convertible and it did have some issues, the door locks didn't seem to close properly and would cause a dashboard warning light to come on. This meant we had to stop, open all the doors and boot and close them again. Also because the car didn't think the doors were shut properly, the windows kept going up and down. Also we booked a Saab 93 convertible and although we didn't pay any more I was a bit unhappy at the change. The car was economical and the staff were nice though and I would hire again.
The receptionist in Lanzarote was handsome and charming. He dealt with our car booking efficiently and quickly. The car we hired was nearly new and very good value and, although it was a small Opal Corsa, it accommodated three of us and our suitcases without a problem. The tankful of petrol lasted the whole week as it is not a very big island, and the car was quite fuel efficient. We love the Cezar Manrique designed logo and will use Cabrera again when we return to the Canaries next year.
Would recommend using Cabrera Medina to hire a car - plenty of options for cars - particularly if need space for wheelchairs or child buggy. Easy to use the online booking system with a quick response. It is helpful to specify why you may wish for a particular model and this is usually accommodated. The cars are well used but have been cleaned before hire but do check tires ok and any existing dents etc. Fuel is usually left at quarter tank. Office staff are friendly and efficient and map and audio CD is helpful.
I was really pleased with Cabrera Medina. The check in at Lanzarote airport was swift, we even had the keys before our bags came out. The car was just a short walk away in the car park, and very easy to find. Bringing the car back was easy too. The car itself was in great condition and served us well all week.
I would be happy to recommend this company.
The car was excellent- seated 9 and was comfortable and economical to drive. A great price for a weeks hire. The service was quick on collection and return was a breeze! Exiting the airport at Arecife was very strightforward for a UK/Ireland driver.
We always rent a car at Cabrera Medina and normal its always a good car and very clean, but this time the inside of the car and the windows were very dirty. All kind of splashes I think from the sea-water maybe it has been used by divers or surfers.
So the next time we are going too hire we will consider another firm for hiring our car.
Or we will come back to Cabrera Medina???
Having hired cars for 30 years from Cabrera Medfna,they have never let me down.I have never had any reason to complain about either service or conditoion of the cars and would and have recommended them to anyone.
