Cahoot have topped it with the worst service I have ever received from a bank. They removed thousands of pounds from my account and it took over 3 weeks to get it back. They started out with apologies, never seen anything like it, you will be compensated etc., etc. Then they said "we have concluded our investigations and you never sent the money - we have an email confirming it from your bank" 100% lies.
I was very lucky that a brilliant lady at first direct made it her mission to get my money back. She did. Thank you first direct.
I do have trouble with banks, i have closed accounts in the past due to incompetence of bank staff and bad interest rates. I think i have had my Cahoot account for over 8 years and have always found them efficient and polite to me - as you would hope a bank would be (before reality sets in and you find yourself waiting for a paying in book for 6 months).
I find the online banking system easy to use and am able to make payments directly from it to pay off my mortgage when i want to. The interest rate is higher than usual for these sort of accounts but i am a pre-Santander customer so that might be why.
I would always advise shopping about for better interest rates but if good service is important to you as it is to me you might want to consider Cahoot
