ordered camera. omitted to add shipping charges. site accepted order. was called via phone to give my credit card details over the phone. I preferred not to. Order was cancelled. Re ordered. Goods received well packed and bang on time.
on-line order process should have picked up my initial oversight and stopped me from proceeding with payment.
prompt response to my emails sent to the company.
pleased with service and goods
We placed our order on Camerabox.co.uk, the reason being; they came out on top of the best deals we could find on all the price comparison sites. We placed our order on Friday 4th with express delivery as the method of postage. And we received it at 8:30 this morning. In my opinion, that is extremely quick service. To be honest we couldn't quite believe our eyes! Now I wouldn't think twice when looking to purchase any further photographic equipment. Just outstanding service, I can't give them enough credit. Keep up the good work guys!
I found my experience with Camerabox, extremely good. Just one minor hiccup whilst placing an order though, which just involved me having to call up the helpline, and wait on hold whilst they resolved the problem in the technical department. Once problem was resolved order sailed through. I received confirmation within seconds, and then an email later that day confiming dispatch. Parcel turned up thismorning, camera was as described, and I must add that the cheap camera case that came with it was actually really nice. Cheers
I received my camera from camerabox after 6 days on the 2-4 day delivery, so 2 days late over what they quote. But they were the cheapest I could find so I saved myself £30 which is very much needed at the moment, what with the stupidly high petrol prices! Would recommend to others, but perhaps not if they were in a rush...
I thought I would place a review to show my deep gratitude to the entire team at Camerabox as I feel that some of these reviews are completely unwarranted and seem to be blown out of proportion, I ordered and my item was held as some security checks needed to be carried out, perfectly fine if you ask me! If a company is looking after their customers from this early on in the transaction I do not know how that can be bad news! I also received a dispatch notice within the next two or three hours and received my item on the 4th day (which was within the super saver delivery service might i add!) at any rate I would talk to the team at Camerabox, they will be more than happy to put your mind at rest!
when i read these reviews i will admit that i was slightly nervous, but after taking a gamble i am very happy that I did as i received a call after my order was placed to check my details and i received a dispatch notice almost straight away! The item was in my hands 2 days later, for a free delivery service I really can not fault them! I would suggest you look past all of the disgruntled customers and judge for yourself!
Ordered a Sony NEX-5 twin lens kit with their "super saver delivery" and received a dispatch confirmation email the same day, even though it was meant to arrive 2-4 days later it was with me the next day! I can not fault their service and will definitely use them again!
Highly delighted with this purchase. the camera was at the best price on the net and best for value especially when you consider the fact that it came with a 5 year warranty. Any other supplier could only offer a 2 year waranty. with the option of additional warranty costing almost the same as the camera.
Really please i trusted my order with Camerabox. I was let down terribly by another online retailer, who claimed they were a UK company but wee actually shipping out of Hong Kong.
After my first disappointment i found Camerabox's website. A little dubious, i phoned them and managed to speak to a sales rep in a matter of minutes. He confirmed that they are a UK based company, with warehouse in Oxford and Doncaster, and that their stock was sourced within the European market, so would be covered under UK warranty.
Trusting in this new information, placed my order for the Sony TX5 in silver. Only an hour had passes and got an email confirming shipment! The camera arrived as agreed the next day and it is fantastic. I needed a small compact i could fit in my pocket, and this fits the ticket perfectly
Just what you want and maybe more than you can usually expect. Goods ordered Saturday afternoon, arrived Tuesday morning. Well packaged, perfect condition, exactly as ordered.
One query after receipt answered satisfactorily within minutes.
Considering they were offering the best price for the package I could find after much searching AND there is a 5-year guarantee, what more could you ask?
For Internet shopping to get better than this, they'd have to deliver it personally in the evening with a bottle of champagne chilled to the right temperature.
Just opened package and used my Fuji S2800 HD. All has gone well and the product is working as expected, thank you. It is a worry when you hear that customers are having problems contacting companies and it DOES make one wary, particularly when the company is online. I get bothered, too, when the numbers one sometimes has to dial are at premium rates. I haven't had this issue with Camerabox, hence my 5 stars.
ordered camera and lens (total £760.) site showed in stock, paid next day premium, stock still not here 3 days later AND angry bad mannered sale person now tells me item will no even be despatched until Tueday of NEXT week (7 days after the original SHOULD have been despatched !!!
Am always happy to deal with Camerabox due to there wide range of products and first class service (in my case at least). I've never had any problem with any product purchased from the site and anything I did order was delivered in a timely fashion. Intend to deal with them long into the future.
I found camerabox website after searching google shopping for the Fuji S2800 HD. They certainly had the cheapest price. I checked out their website and was impressed with it general layout and overall competitive prices. I placed my order with them on Monday 14th Feb, and shortly received email conformation with my invoice. I didn't opt for the express delivery, just left it with the super saver delivery.
I phoned them on Wednesday just to check that everything was ok with the order, and also check that it was going to be shipped as I'm flying out of the country on Saturday morning on my holiday to Tapawera, New Zealand. The customer sales adviser i spoke to was extremely helpful, and actually informed me that the item had already left that morning, and delivery was anticipated by Thursday 17th (today) and i would get an email confirming this.
True to their word about 20 mins later i got that exact email, with a tracking number, and bright and early on this cold February Morning, City-Link turned up with my parcel.
Thought it was packaged very well and arrived just in time for me to have a quick test of the camera before i fly out. Needless to say, i would recommend them and will be using them again in the future. Looking forward now to using my new camera out
I did a fair bit of research before settling on a Canon 550d. Camerabox offered the best price on the model, but had overwhelmingly bad reviews on delivery and customer service. To be honest, it was a leap of faith to put in my order - even though I am aware that those with a positive experience often don't write reviews.
I am happy to say that my experience with Camerabox was positive. It did take some time getting through to them on phone, but the person at the other end was courteous and helpful. I placed the order through their website, using the free delivery option, and the camera was with me within two days of ordering. All the contents were inside the box and it was British stock.
My experience with CAMERABOX.co.uk has been the worst I have ever experienced, their live online stock is not correct, they will try to make you accept a different model, I would recommend that you ask for a refund immediately if this happens, this was my mistake. Every time you contact them you get a contradiction, they eventually after 2 months plus refunded my money, but I had to contest the transaction with my credit card company. I’m still currently waiting to be refunded my postage for returning an incorrectly sent camera back in Dec2010.
got a great bundle deal from Camerabox and best price on the net at time of looking. was kept well informed and got a full receipt immediately after purchase.great speedy service for Northern Ireland, generally the post takes an extra few days but not with this purchase. The cost did seem a bit steep to NI, but worth the efficiency.all arrived on time, a good all round service.
ordered my camera at 7pm on Monday and it arrived at 10am on Wednesday with their next day service. Brilliant! the salesperson on the helpline was very friendly and polite and was able to confirm the item was available for delivery. overall I highly recommend ordering from camerabox.
Cheapest price indeed, and the advise i received over the phone was excellent. I found their website easy to use, but the delivery did take an additional 2 days then the quoted 2-4, but it was free unlike other online sites who charge shipping under a certain amount.
I have been using my Panasonic TZ10 now for the last few days and outstanded with the quality of the camera.
After visiting Camerabox's website, I rang them as I was a little undecided about the camera. I was given honest, unbiased advice and placed the order with them. I was giving a tracking number and the camera arrived bang on time. It is refreshing to deal with an online company that with great prices but one that also has a human side.. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend them at all. Pleasant experience
After deciding to upgrade my Digital SLR and include some accessories I chose to order a battery grip and extra battery from Camerabox. After over 7 days I still haven't received a thing. Phone calls are never answered and e-mails ignored. Whenever a call is answered the staff just come across as rude and posses no knowledge of the order. I would advise you to stay with more reliable suppliers.
This company are really terrible. First of all there was an error when I made the order online and I had no confirmation of the order sent to me. So I mailed their site and they told me that the transaction had failed. Two days later, £264.99 is taken from my credit card by Camerabox. So I phone them up and they say the camera will be delivered on Monday. Monday comes, no camera. I phone again and they say it will be Tuesday. Tuesday comes and no camera. I phone up again and am told it will be in a few days. I still have had no official emailed confirmation of the order or any real guarantees of delivery. I am also told customer services is only online to mail them to complain. My mail is neither acknowledged or replied to. So I call again and I'm told it will be Tuesday of the following week for delivery. I mail them again to try and get a response over the first email and still no reply or acknowledgement. So I call them up and ask to cancel. A salesman tells me he can't do it and I have to contact customer services. I explain that my previous correspondence to the customer services has been completely ignored. He promises that he will get an emailed confirmation of cancellation over to me the same day. I am still waiting. THIS PEOPLE ARE TOTAL RIP OFF MERCHANTS AND TREAT THEIR CUSTOMERS REALLY BADLY. I DOUBT ANY SINGLE PERSON WORKING THEIR WOULD LIKE IT IF THEY'D SPENT £264.99 WITH AN ETAILER WHO HAD TAKEN THEIR MONEY, NOT EVEN MAILED CONFIRMATION OF ORDER AND CONSISTENTLY LIES TO THEM OVER DELIVERY. BY FAR THE WORST ONLINE RETAIL EXPERIENCE I'VE EVER HAD. TRULY, TRULY, TRULY, TRULY AWFUL. PLEASE DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE.
Placed my order with Camerabox on Monday 31st Jan 2010 at 14.32 for the Nikon D90. It arrived with me Tuesday 8th Feb 2010 09.55. I had opted for the 2-4 day delivery, it took 6 days. The price was the cheapest i could find by £67.98 at the time from a UK retailer. Overall happy with the service they had provided, just a shame about the delay in delivery.
Opted for the express delivery for £6.99, on the Fuji Finepix JZ300. I found it extremely easy to order on their site, and after placing the order i phone customer services to check on the order and spoke to a very helpful member of staff, who advised everything was ok on the order and would be shipping it out later that day. True to their word, i received my email confirming the camera had been shipped, then one from City-Link with my tracking number. I used their site all the way up to point of delivery the next morning. The camera had arrived as promised the next day. The price was definitely the cheapest i could find anywhere and their customer service was excellent. I would recommend Camerabox to anyone looking for a cheap camera on good delivery and great customer service.
Original order place on 27/11/10, opting for the ironically termed super saver delivery, where your package should arrive within 2-4 working days. The next day I received a call saying that a delivery slot had become free the next day if I wished to pay £6.99 for the delivery. I thought this curious; if I had wanted next day delivery at a cost I would have asked for it initially, although at least it indicated that the product was in stock and ready for despatch. With hindsight I have to wonder if there was an awareness of the problems with the courier company, and that camerabox were trying to persuade as many customers as possible to use the next day service.
On the 29/11/10 I emailed the sales address requesting a change in delivery address, but received no response. I phoned the following week enquiring as to where my delivery was, and was told it was ready to be sent out. At the same time I asked if I could change the delivery address, but was told it would be too late.
The next time I was required to phone up was on 13/12/10, as I still awaited my delivery. During this period there has been no communication from camerabox to explain or apologise for the absent delivery. If there are delays the least you can do is keep your customer informed, particularly if you have already advised that the order was to be despatched. This time the operator advised me that the item would be with me the next day, and there had been delays with the courier company picking it up.
On the 16/12/10 I phoned again; still no sign of my delivery. Again, I was told exactly the same thing. At this point I asked for the order to be cancelled as I had lost trust in the company.
Much to my exasperation, on the 17/12/10 I received an email saying the order had been sent out to me. I called back immediately and was advised that there was no record of me asking to cancel the order. I was advised to not sign for the order and ask for it to be returned, this I did so.
On the 29/12/10 I received an email confirming my order had been received back at camerabox, which I assumed was enough to trigger the refund of my money. Just in case, I replied to the email stating that I required the refund ASAP. I received an out of office message bounce back due to it being the Christmas period, but at least this indicated that my message had been received by someone.
I rang on the 6/1/10 to enquire as to when I would receive my refund, having a deep mistrust in the company at this point, I thought it best to make as much communication as possible. I was advised that I would receive the refund in 2-14 days from the receipt of the goods back at camerabox.
On the 18/1/10, knowing the words to Frank Sinatra's 'My Way' off by heart, and becoming more familiar than I ever wished with the 'please hold your call is important to us' recorded message, I finally got to speak to an operator. Unbelievely, I was advised that there was no record of me making contact with camerbox and advising them of the cancellation, so the item had been returned to the store. Does no one make any notes when a customer calls up? Perhaps this is why operators are able to tell you that your delivery will be made the next day, when clearly it won't be, because there is no accountability due to no updating of records. What kind of customer service is this? The operator told me I would receive the refund in ten working days.
Later that day I emailed all three camerabox email addresses: email@example.com; firstname.lastname@example.org; email@example.com confirming the call I had just made, attaching previous email correspondence I had sent. I received a response the next day advising that my refund would be issued within 14 days...and eventually it was.
Will never use this company again.

I think what others dont realise is that for the price they are absolutely brillant! I have been using these guys for years, admittedly on occasion there has been delays with deliverys, but good things come to those who wait. For example I placed an order on the 31st of Jan, just came through this morning. But I am more than happy considering the price. I would've paid over £200 more for this lens, if I'd bought it from a well known high street photographic retailer. Perhaps if you're in a rush, look to buy "over the counter" but for me that is rarely the case. Keep up the good work Cameraboxx
Okay.. i had already bought my camera from camerabox before i'd read the reviews..after i was a bit apprehensive wating for it to arrive..but after 10 days it did..it came with an American plug fitting but they had put in an adaptor so no problem..i saved £30 on the deal. Assuming i don't have to use the warranty i think it was a relatively painless experience. I understand peoples grievances when things haven't gone to plan but for me they were fine..use a credit card and at least you're covered.
I ordered a camera so I could film and take stills of my Dads 70th Birthday. They took the money straight away, and promised delivery next day, the camera didn't show. So I chased them up and was told it would a few more days, when I told them this wasn't sufficient, I cancelled my order and was told my refund could take up to 30 days, this was on the 02/11/2010. I chased camerabox for weeks, eventually I contacted Oxfordshire Trading Standards to see if they could help, they contacted camerabox a couple of times to see where my refund was. Eventually, I received my refund on 17/01/2011, a lot longer than 30 days. Something should be done about them. I have kept all email correspondance with them as proof.

Camer Box or Digital Cameras, they are the same organization. After a week I chased up my order. They failed to return my calls or reply to my emnails so I spent ages on hold until a real human being ansered the phone. In essence they said they had no stock and wern't going to get any. They saw no obligation to either return my money or tell me of this. If I had not called to chase they would just have held on to my money saying that orders have to be cancelled in writing. They saw no obligation to conatct me about their inability to deliver. Now going though PayPal to get my money back.

I ordered a pro lens just before Xmas 2010 and, although the delivery was delayed because (I suspect) of the seasonal and weather chaos, the lens arrived safely and is 100% as I expected it to be.
Score 1 to Camerabox.

I am sad that the service i have received from this company is rubbish. I did get my camera but it didn't come next day as i paid for ( still waiting for that to be refunded after three telephone calls and two e mails) the charger was for the wrong battery ( now have to pay the postage to send it back myself, apparently that will be refnded ( dont beileve a word of it) and still no reply to the email i was told to send) and it didnt come with an instruction manual. I now have to put it all in writing and send to off to them. This should all be able to be done over the phone it is very very dull and as i was told on the phone....madame if we didnt return items to you we would go out of business very soon....... perhaps you should then and save us all the trouble

After being let down by other companies on delivery of my camera, i eventually tried camerabox. I decided to phone them first after seeing a few bad reviews, but they filled me with confidence on the phone. I placed my order that morning with them, for their free delivery service, only for my camera to be delivered the next day! was very happy with the service and will be ordering again when the time comes
I ordered my camera on the 30th of December. It was listed as in stock and available for a 4-5 working day delivery. Its the 24th of January and I have still to receive it. I must have telephoned customer services about 8 times chasing the whereabouts of my camera. After being fobbed off with "the warehouse has a backlog" and "its being despatched tomorrow you'll be sent an e mail" etc ect it finally transpires that its been sent to a completely incorrect address and signed for by some unknown person. Instead of an immediate apology and the despatch of a new item these guys were rude and dismissive. Their standards of communication and customer service stink. the 30 quid youll save by going through them will pale into insignificance alongside the raised blood pressure, loss of time and opportunity that you will suffer. My next port of call appears to be trading standards and the small claims court
My camera took 15 working days to be delivered, even though the website listed it as 'in stock' when I placed the order. What's worse, they took my money as soon as they received my order, rather than waiting until they had dispatched it.
On the plus side, I could always get through to customer services (after 5-10 minutes wait on the phone), although they all they ever said was "It will be sent to you soon". When my order did arrive, it was exactly as ordered.
I could tell my tale at length but it is the same as all on here - camera ordered, money debitted from my account instantly, 3 weeks wait, cancel order only for them to despatch regardless, refuse delivery, wait another 3 weeks for refund.
I did get responses to emails and spoke to people unlike some on here but I was never given accurate information and yes on most occasions lied to.
It never occurred to me to google them as their website is very enticing and professional looking.
They had £500 of my money for 2 months.
